And now for an actual comment.  Ahem.  Anyway, I love the new blog N'Gai.  It took me a while to find it because I browse less these days and I must've missed any Twitter announcement.  I've always appreciated your writing and commentary, so I'm glad to see another forum for that to shine.

I like your initial description of the blog, but isn't "lifestyle" just a subset of "culture?"  I've always perceived lifestyle as the individual's expression of cultural influences.  So, for instance, I've often thought of my "lifestyle" existing at an intersection between technology and culture - basically the expression of what happens when technology interacts with the cultural influences that shape(d) my life.  Believe me, it's some crazy shizzit.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what you do with the space.  I'll be sure to add it to my "all things N'Gai" list as I continue to stalk you from beyond the browser :-)  Good luck!

I had thought of the scrolled text message idea for the Airline Industry….

I was thinking that if the USA AIR Force could have intercepted a visual text message from

the outside of the surface of the jetliner, other options for increasing human survival, would

have come into play.

The recent Hurricane and EarthQuake tragedies including their “aftermath disasters”, causing over

200k+ survivor evacuations are currently un-acceptable...the communications systems are virtually

non-existant  between survivors and rescuers, causing needless deaths and harm to people who

had already experienced suffering and victimization.

DOT, CalTrans, Fema, Border Patrols and Red Cross emergency services vehicles could stream

VAMS instant informative messages of shelter & safety to stricken communities “from a distance

and up-close and personal”  

Helicopters that fly over survivors could have VAMS scrolled text messages underneath, which

gives the people instant  needed visual info, as to “what  has”  and “is happening, to  and for them”.

The VAMS concept targets the appeal and enthusiasm of “the everyday driver” like myself who knows

how critical timing is in an emergency situation. The perfect vehicle survival technology for everyday

drivers, as well as our first responders. GPS, GIS, Amber Alert LINKS.

VAMS MESSAGES are Clear and Simple. They can be sent from multiple wireless mediums: PDA’s,

Watches, Cell phones, and customized VAMS remote transponders!

• There is a Library of 8-10 Emergency text messages for Vehicles

including one for “ROAD Ragers”

• There is a Digital Camera embedded in the VAMS substrate component that records an image and dispatches it to the appropriate Law/ Police and All Rescue Authorities.
