Mary,

Whether you like it or not, it is not your damned business to put your prejudice in this article. You are nothing but a hired gun, pandering to your boss favourite pastime: bashing China. As an ethnic Chinese living in the western world, I know you guys so well, everyday I have to deal with your hypocrisy. So spare me all the bullsh*.  If the US guys have done this, you will use words like awesome, heroic and so so on.

China will continue to support the US treasury bonds to keep the US economy going as the US economy is still in the intensive care ward, because it is the innate kindness of Confucius ethics. Even with this kind act, you just reveal your ungrateful streak. Get real, unless you become a bit objective, more and more people are going to forsake you. CNN stupid remark against the Chinese has been deliberately play down by so many media. So, spare me the hypocrisy, I have enough from you guys.

Activists Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie paid local residences of an African town to leave so they can wait in peace for their child to arrive. What is wrong with China paying Nepal to ensure a peaceful ascend for this all important Olympic flame? Yes, China's new strength is quite hard to stomach for you hypocritic westerners. But get used to it. China will grown even stronger and there is nothing you can do. Besides, there are far more china supporters than you can handle.

Remember that this land is where your ancestors were born and bred. You have a face that is Chinese. Never forget you have your root in this land. Do not always criticize China with bias and hatred. Think about the word "motherland".

Better than Melinda, Mary reports on China with much less hatred.  Thanks.

"The sight of the torch on top of Everest cannot override these events."

The torch on the top of Everest doesn't need to "override" these events... but it can certainly put it into proper context.  Those who ignore the Chinese perspective will always have the ability to make a scene, to throw a tantrum, to disrupt.  But ultimately, their circus act will not have achieved anything beyond their 15 minutes of fame.

China will continue to do what needs to be done.
