Avoiding Ahmadinejad

From Tehran to Baghdad: Ahmadinejad
will visit the Iraqi capital in March

So far U.S. officials say they won't be attending any events during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's planned visit to Baghdad March 2. And  the Iranian president might make it easy for them to avoid the awkwardness of bumping into each other in the Green Zone–-say, at an embassy "Salsa Night" or the "Liberty" pool. Iraqis planning the itinerary say that their guest has asked to stay outside the fortified area in a riverside compound belonging to his official host, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani.

Ahmadinejad is expected to sleep over one night and hold meetings with Iraqi officials, maybe sign an agreement or two, and hold a joint press conference with Talabani. Naseer al-Ani, director of the Iraqi Presidency office (remember, there's a president and two vice-presidents from the different ethnic and religious factions) told NEWSWEEK the plan now is to not rely on any U.S. assistance for security or other logistics–-though that could change.

A U.S. Embassy official said that America will offer any logistical help the Iraqis request–-as the Americans have when other dignitaries have visited. Iran and Iraq share a long border and many common issues and interests, so the embassy is treating it as a routine summit between two heads of state–-though the other neighboring rulers haven't dropped by yet. Given that Iraq has traditionally had bitter relations with all its bordering nations–-Turkey is currently invading the north–-Iran is probably the friendliest neighbor to Iraq's Shiite-led government and its Kurds, if not for  its Sunni Arabs).

A remaining question is whether there are any guarantees that U.S. troops won't spoil the party by arresting Ahmadinejad–-as they have other Iranian diplomatic guests who they accused of funneling assistance to anti-American forces. Al-Ani, stunned  into momentary silence when asked about this, said, "I don't know what to say. It can't happen," Yeah, probably not. After all, the Iranian president has already visited New York for a United Nations summit and made it out safely. He should be able to thread his way through the western contractors and U.S. troops surrounding the Baghdad International Airport.

For your information,Ahmednejad or the Iraqi authorities NEVER asked the Americans for any logistic support.Anf for further information, not one or two contracts are to be signed. You can start listing them and make sure you publish all the contracts that happen to be signed by the 3rd.of March.

TO EZTEL. how can you state ARAB/ ISRAELI RELATIONS DO NOT DICTATE OUR foreign pOLICy IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

OBAMA IS JUST encouraging COMMUNITy BASED GROUpS FROM BOTH SIDES to sit down and begin a dialouge.. SOMETHING LIKE AN NGO type ORGANIZATION. WHERE ANyoNE CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE CAUSE. THESE ORGANIZATIONS WILL INFLUENCE THEIR OWN GOVERNMENTS. "THAT WAy THEy" CAN SOLVE THEIR OWN DISpUTES.

THEy NEED A push in the right direction. BUSH HAS SOFTENED THE ARAB/MUSLIM WORLD Up . THEy WILL WELCOME AND NEW AppROACH. THEy know the consquences of not solving their differences. WAR.

UNFORTUNATELy THAT IS WHAT THE ESTABLISHMENT ON ON BOTH SIDES WANTS> WAR

ENCOURAGING OUR ADVERSARIES TO INTERACT WITH EACHOTHER is the best thing FOR AMERICA. ATTACKING SOMEONE yOU KNOW IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN SOMEONE you DO NOT.

HOW ON EARTH IS ORGANIZING yOUNG pEOLE FOR pEACE a SIGN of WEAKNESS> THAT IS WHAT IRAN FEARS and the establishment on both sides FEAR THE MOST.

IF THEy DO NOT HAVE AN ENEMy THE pEOpLE WILL TURN ON THEM and ESTABLISH A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT. THESE Ty pES OF GRASS ROOT ORGANIZATIONS CAN influence REFORM FROM WITHIN IRAN. yOU HAVE BEEN INDOCTRINATED and FEEL THERE IS NO SOLUTION. THOSE WHO BENEFIT FROM THESE TENSIONS HAVE SUCCESSFULLy BLOCKED THE advancement of the peace process since ninety four..

IT is a two faced relationship because the CLINTON's have close ties with DUBAI. THE ARABS own more than twelve PER CENT of our economy. AND WE ARE heavily IN DEBT TO ARAB Financiers.

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT voting for the IRAQ WAR has STRENGTHENED IRAN a hundred times over.

IS THIS IN ISRAEL's BEST INTEREST?

OBAMA IS very CONCERNED WITH THE RISE OF IRAN AND IS EAGER TO DIFFUSE the situation> Hillary WOULD JUST IGNITE THE FLAMES. WE NEED A NEW Approach.

"TO SOLVE PROBLEMS we must CONFRONT THE SOURCE AND DEFEAT IT". eddiewhere 2008

A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO RUSSIA DELIVERED THE LAST OF IT's NUCLEAR SHIPMENT TO IRAN.

WE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THAT SHIPMENT by confronting RUSSIA and making it clear that they cannot provide IRAN with nuclear materials. THE ex SOVIET UNION, EASTERN EUROPEAN nations and the five breakaway REPUBLICS in CENTRAL ASIA are the source OF THE WORLD's INSECURE NUCLEAR MATERIALS. BUT WE NEVER GO TO THE SOURCE and CONFRONT IT.

THIS IS WHy WE NEED A CHANGE. THE SOLUTIONS ARE THERE WE ARE JUST FOLLOWING THE INCORRECT Protocol..

THE Israeli/ Palestinian CONFLICT is what dictates political relations in the MIDDLE EAST..

OBAMA WILL LEAD an ARAB/ISRAELI MOVEMENT FOR pEACE. AFTER ALL, THEY ARE THE ONE's THAT MUST CONQUER THE OBSTACLES that obstruct the PATH TO PEACE.

WHAT IS BEST FOR AMERICA IS TO GET THESE TWO adversaries in the same room TOGETHER AS "MUCH" AS possible.
