my mother is a heil, she married a henry, lives in hellertown, and works in human services. this is just weird!
i dont think its true,i'm syahril, my car is perodua kembara. i live in damansara. i totally said that this research not proving anything.
but maybe some cases happen like that what you haved research
The comments here were just as interesting in many ways as the article itself. I noted that there were those that did not agree with this study, listed the reasons why and then did not see how they fit into it.
Well I certainly fit. My initials were JMS, the man I considered my soul mate was JDS and I am now married to a JCA making me a JMA. We own 2 jeeps, I worked as a journalist last year, I collect all the junk I can find and JCA's second wife was a JCB. I will point our also that my daughter an MMW married an MAF and my granddaughters from that union are SMF & SNF, (note the S and my maiden name, the M is VERY previlent as well.)
But, my hubby and his first wife were both C&D students and their daughter, a BLA is a D student.
It is a bit regretful that there were probably millions of dollars spent on this study, I hate waste but, I gather everyone has to have a reason to get that paycheck at the end of the week or month.
LL_Mom noticed that students whose last names are in the front of the alphabet are FAR mor likely to succeed in school. So did a young man named Winston Spencer-Churchill. He coped by dropping the hyphen.
The reason for the higher grades that Alice gets when compared to Debra is not in her self image, or unconscious desires. It lies in the fact that her teachers associate Alice with A's, perhaps from playing that A: My name is Alice game in Sharon's car. (By the way, it was a jumprope game when I was a child in the '50's.) When pitchers see Karl come to the plate, they just happen to think K. It takes a little more work to throw three strikes than to let your infielders do the work, but that is how a pitcher's mind works. Mysterious? Hardly.
oh gosh. could my initials, ABB, correspond to a lifelong trend of first really trying and excelling, then feeling overconfident and cocky enough to stop trying, and then failing, generally for longer than I'd excelled?
damn you, Ansel Adams. damn you, Adam Ant.
damn you, Andre Agassi.
Here's an example of the stupidity, by the way: "Granted, 18.8% vs. 17.2% is not a huge difference, but it was statistically significant—that is, not likely to be due to chance. "
It's not? Really? How about breaking down strikeouts on a letter-by-letter basis? Did you know that (according to The Hardball Times: http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/ridiculous-science/) that players with the letter J as an initial struck out far more than either the average OR batters with a K initial?
It is a shame that a so-called writer doesn't know the definition of the word "coincidence." Or "causality," which is suspiciously absent from this entire study.
Wow.
What concerns me is that the people involved (the pseudo-scientists, the author of the article, etc.) actually thought this wasn't utterly ridiculous.
I mean, to most people with adequate, functioning grey matter, the idea of one's initials influencing real life events is patently absurd.
Yet here we have individuals that (I presume) are allowed to operate motor vehicles, vote in elections, and so on, and yet think this study was a Good Idea. Once again I am convinced that our current system of age-based privileges is a mistake. Our IDs should list our IQs instead of our ages. Walk up to a bar, and the guy at the door will examine your ID: "Hmmm, 86, eh? Well...it's a country-western bar, so come on in."
Seriously...these are dumb, dumb people. Not misguided, or "open-minded" or anything else. Just dumb.
Stop peeing in the gene pool, dumb people, or we'll waste more time, energy and resources on useless studies that people with actual intelligence will ignore anyway BECAUSE THE STUDIES ARE JUST STUPID.
Oh and some of the comments are priceless. "One of the keys to good living?" HAH! Do you also think your life is affected by numbers, or the astrology writeups in the newspaper, or whether you knock on wood at the appropriate times?
Ignorance and stupidity are endemic. How about a study on American Bozosity?
First, no amount of anecdotal evidence proves a thing. Health food store bookshelves are stocked with scores of books that make since-disproven health claims based upon convincing and overwhelming anecdotal evidence. Maybe a paraphrase is in order here: "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damn Lies, and Stories."
Second, anyone can do this. My kids call me Dad. My significant other is named Deana. We have dogs. We both have Dads. We have 3 Daughters. We sometimes get Depressed. My car does not start with a "D", but if you tipped it up on its nose, it would look like one! We both grew up in the Desert. We were not D-students, but that is because we Deserved better!
Third, I think it's fair to say that we don't know all the facts about this research, and it is reasonable to believe that there may be some kernel of truth in there somewhere. But that does not excuse Newsweek for publishing such a one-sided, unbalanced article about these findings. I'm certain there are many scientists who would have gladly contributed dissenting views for this article.
I clicked through to it because I thought they were going to say that one's name affects one's life. That is a very reasonable assertion, which stands to logic. Your name is one of many factors that affects how people perceive you, and how you perceive yourself. But the far-blown conclusion that people with Ks in their names strike out more often than those who do not begs for more study. It just does not ring true.
A new study never is worthless. Why most of the commentaries are sarcartic, judged without giving the authors a second chance? My Christian name starts with °G°. Kids: DN, SA and EB. My country is °A°, native tongue is ´C´. Cars, were Italian ¨F¨ or US ¨F¨. Grand-kids: °R°, °K° and °C°. My grand-babyboy is Basque, first name °U° belongs to his nationality, the second or middle initial is °S° , English (honouring me).
My daughters were C and D at school. Granddaughters A, B, or C. My given full name was {G.R.L.A.} At present, °°G.L.A.S°°. I was born in ~C~ which is a province of [A].I married ´M.A.A.´ who was ¨C¨ or even at university.
My hubby is °°J.R.S°°, we were ¨A¨ and ¨B¨ at school and college. We live in *K* TX and our Wedding Anniversary is on 11/9. He is a hard worker, a typical American person. Still romantic and
dreamer. Me? Why, it depends. The rest is up to you. I was born on 10/26. Just you guess...:-) Thanks for your time. I am glad to be part of this blog. CheerS*
FELIZ ANIVERSARIO, SANTI!!!
I'm an M married to a V. My kids are V and L and both are above average students as was I the M.
I live in M.
But interestingly in my family an S married an S--kids are A and J. The entire family is smart. They live in H.
Then a D married a D who had a sister D they divorced (of course) then he met a new D and married her. She also has a sister D--kids are D and A and they live in a D. Their kids are questionable
Then for years a K (very bad student) dated a Sh (blend) and then married a soft Ch (same sound)
they divorced and he now is married to a J. No kids. They live in M
Very entertaining. I hope my V & L overcome their initials!!

Abarzane, that one is good. Bush is also a dumb Bastard. I like your style!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abarzane can't spell basic words, yet calls bush dumb.
Classic.
BTW, Bush is a graduate of both Harvard and Yale, and flew F-102's
Ever taken any Aviation classes before? I have, and it's not an easy subject.
Especially in those days when they plotted flight plans with a Slide Rule and a Protractor.
BTW, did you graduate from either Harvard or Yale?
The sufferers of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) have an obsessive need to insult him, even in subjects that have nothing to do with him.
Must be miserable to be that angry all of the time.
Sad, really sad that some people are so blinded by hate that logic and reasoning goes out the window.
My name is Chantelle. I had a (high) C average in High School. I own a Camry. I work at Callenberg. I own a Cocker Spaniel.
Interesting Study. Not sure if its accurate though, could work for any letter. Plus I don't believe it works for all people either. Maybe just people that like their names :)
I do wonder what my statistic would be, since my intials are DA. Ah, but why does a statisitic matter if we already know, don't care, or contradicts itself?
LMAO! "unqlefungus" oh too true!
And is Phil doomed to lead an empty life?
Is Art all show?
Will Carrie have a life filled w/ burdens?
Are Curt and Rod shallow & merely window dressing?
Well, I'm Brandi who's owned a Lincoln, and two Chevy's and my boyfriends name is Jasen, I did okay in school, and I live in Lecanto. Did I blow this out of the water? Oh wait, my last name begins with a "B" also. Shoot.
I'm an SS I married a TS, making me an SSS (that is actually a total of 6 with the ones sandwiched in the middle) I have an S and an E I live in UT. I drive a Toyota and a Honda and I was a straight A student so...did I just get all my "bad karma" out by having overloaded on "S"...or is this just a bunch of nonesense. I have a science degree and I will be the FIRST to tell you that statistics will tell you anything you want them to. Manipulate those numbers and forget any other outside influence! I hope tax payer money wasn't used in this study!
My name is Lisa and I would like to drive a Lexus. If only my pocket book would agree :-(
Yeah -- there are more male names that start with K than the other letters individually.
What a major league load of bull? Who pays for these studies and who are the idiots that conducts them? Jesus Christ!! I suppose Newsweek and National Enquirer went to the same lower-tier community college
Wow, My dad whose name begins with an M is a wiz in math and science. My oldest son with a name that begins with C makes b's and c's (an a once in awhile). My husband who begins with an R was an honor student all through school as was his sister whose name begins with a V. My middle son whose name begins with an M is an honor student and an advanced reader. My youngest son whose name starts with a C is getting help with his reading. So I think my family really throws this whole "scientific wasted study" out the window. Just my thought though.
In the school system I was, through grade and the high school, the list of names was alphabetical. I always suspected that that had something to do with the grades. Not enough to make a huge difference, but definitely there to be THERE... I think it also has to do with the phoenomena where people will pick things whcih are like them , like a blond guy will marry a blond girl and so forth. My name is Chen and I own a Mazda, though never fisrt in class, I did have a C or 2 during school. I think it does have an influence, but not enough to change one's life course.
Hmm. My name starts with C and I've gotten straight As my whole life...even through college. Some of my most brilliant friends have last names near the end of the alphabet as well. Are we just the lucky freaks of nature?
I have NEVER seen a more USELESS study in my life! This was so stupid I had to register just so I could post this opinion...
BTW... Why did they only use A,B,C,D? What happened to F? Hmmm, I'd bet good money that it didn't prove their theory so it was conveniently left out...
What many are forgetting is that you have to like your name or initials for this to apply! HA!
Never liked my first name, Judy so gave my children names that wouldn't be nicknamed to end with a "y". ( Interesting, maybe I'm off because of the end of my name... I do always want to know "Y")
Didn't like my middle name (not sharing), nor my maiden (couldn't wait to change it to my husband's) but I never really cared for that either.
Did have a Jeep once and a Rambler (my favorite), 2 Subaru's, an Olds, 2 Buicks, and a Pontiac. Guess how messed up I am!!!
And really hope our tax dollars continue to fund Blackwater et al...way better use than this foolishness! HA!
Interesting. I can say that almost every man I've been in long-term relationship has had a name starting with the same letter "M". A few of which have even had the same name and first and last name initials. Wonder what that means?
One thing that drives me nuts is when parents have a bunch of kids and use same first initial....like Kody, Karlee, Katie, on and on (just example). How irritating. I guess it's meant to be cute but....
sorry but this article upset me that i forgot to say that my son "C" is in the 6th grade and the other boys "D" and "Z" are too young to tell....as for me my name starts with R and i was a B student in school and my husbands name starts with B and he is a damn high school drop out......this article is unjustified
I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Read "Freakonomics" and you'll learn that just because Factor X and Factor Y both move in the same direction does not mean X CAUSES Y. Before making broad assumptions about A and B names that go to Ivy League law schools, you should look at what percentage of the population carries A and B names vs. C and D names (I don't know about anyone else, but I know more Ashleys than Dwights). And did they really eliminate ALL other factors in this study---parents' level of eduation, ethnicity, number of languages mastered, family income, etc? I like how they said, "he's pretty sure they eliminated all other explanations for the weird link..." Wow. How scientific. This article belongs on The Onion.
Help me out TALULAH and tell me about my kids - James, Michael, Steven, William, Jasmine, Sunshine, Lacey, & Mercedes - I mean other than the obvious career choices for the girls.
I have a theory about names. I think people who's names end in an "ee" sound are more likely to be happier people (Katie, Johnny, Bobby, etc.). Because as you say the person's name, your mouth naturally ends in a smile.
They should do a study on that.
What about the tendency of teachers to reward students based on their names? These guys are considering self-bias, but are ignoring the possibility of external bias.
When I was in graduate school, a student did a study of the top performers, and found a statistically significant correlation between those sitting closest to the center-aisle of the class and class ranking (at least in our class - he didn't look at prior classes). This is meaningful since we were arranged alphabetically, i.e., people were assigned seats and sat there all term. Could it be that they got better grades since the professors were looking at them most of the time?
There is also a positive correlation between height and job status, not to mention a tendency for good-looking people to get promoted, and as we all know - gender, race, age and salary.
That there might be yet another correlating factor is no surprise, but there are always exceptions to the rule.
I've been a teacher for 10 years and I can tell you that names definitely affect behavior. Talk to any experienced teacher and they will have a list names that practically guarantee bad behavior. Of course, there are always exceptions, but I'd be hard pressed to remember a "Nick" who wasn't a behavior problem or an "Ashley" who wasn't talkative (that goes double if it's spelled "Ashlee"). A new one I've added this year- Jesse. I've got three of them this year and they're all pains!
This is BS. Plain and simple. To think that they blew money on this. It doesn't apply to me certainly.
Well, let's see - my name is GV, I have two cats E and O. My husband is R, my kids are BRKS. I live in J, I drive a C. Somehow this study is not doing anything for me.
My name is Bryan I am from Poughkeepsie and now live in Burlington!
What a pack of bunk this is. My sons are at the end of the alphabet "y" and were all A and B students. What other junk are we going to be led to believe?? Clear the airways of such nonsense!
I don't agree with this much... I think it is purely coindence. My name is Keri my husband Rick our child Laike. We drive Ford and Oldsmobile. Our last name starts with a "N".
My husband did ok in school... he got B's... which from reading this article he should've gotten worse grades. I did ok too... and imagine that... it's a K.
It's up to the person.... not a freakin letter!
Waste of time for the study.... why even have it... will i sleep better knowing that... no...
What a load of BS! My maiden name initials are SNB, I married JWS, I drive a Honda, and our children are ACS and TWS. Number 3's name will start with a K. We live in Missouri. I was a good student, my husband dropped out and got a GED. Both our daughter and son are incredibly smart children. The only thing that matches up is my married name, which made my initials SNS, and believe me, I do not like it much!
I can not think of a single person I know who's situation reflects the "statistics" in this survey at all. These researchers need to find somehting better to do with thier time and money, because this is nothing but a bunch of codswallop in my opinion.
hmmm...total horse dookie. On top of that I am offended. I used to be a JM and got straight A's, my kids are SJ and CM and also get straight A's I live in Denver and drive a Land Rover...
Perhaps the teacher who states that later initials do more poorly isn't teaching without bias.
I certianly hope our tax dollars didn't fund this!
Interesting my name is Marion married a Maria have a son Matthew and a daughter Gabrielle(now where did she come from?) Live in Michigan, Go Blue!!,
I've written about 5 business plans this year. In each business plan I noticed a common phenomenon in the financial projections - the total revenue projections and the profit margins were always within a couple of percentage points of what we thought they would be going into the excercise. Now either we were just that darn good or we used PRECISELY the same math used by Big Tobacco in the 70s and 80s to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that cigarette smoking was not harmful to your health - which is pretty much what I see going on here.
Wolfman97
Maybe the homers are the result of The Babe's actual middle name is "Herman." (But then, what do you do with the first name of "George?????"
What a trip . . .
Funny - I always knew my "S" name played a big part in my decisions. My children are Sam and Schyler. My horse is Sully. My maiden name began with an "E" , therefore my children's middle names begin with "E". ... and I married all vowels - I and O. I prefer movies where the title begins with "S". Slingblade, Serendipity -- I know it's "Silly," But I love "S".
It's not surprising that the researchers names of this frivolous research fall in the bottom half of the alphabet. All the good studies must have gone to the students with the A and B names.
I am an E. I made Bs in school. I drive an S. I married an H. I live in a C. My pets are an S & a D..... Obviously I am failing this study.
My initials don't make sense according to the story...
AMH (me) married RDZ and became AMZ. I drive a Pontiac. Was an A/B student through school. I guess I should be prepared once my kids start school...are NZ and CZ doomed to bad grades??
My name begins with a B so when is my BMW coming in? So far I've driven a Hyundai, a Fiat and now I have a Peugeot (I live in Europe)! In school I got straight A's, B's got on my nerves. Instead of trying to pinpoint why Tom buys Toyotas, why don't we research more on curing the common cold...oh wait, that begins with a C. And I bet the KKK likes their initials too...
Interesting stuff! I have another spin on 'associations' but the numerical variety.
My birthdate is 2/20/1966, and I have always had a preference for all things 'even'.
Volume settings, cookie consumption, number of offspring...oh wait, no I stopped that at 1.
It is interesting how we gravitate towards 'likeness' even in such matters as names and numbers.
My name begins with L, my husband's with K and my daughter's with H. The dog's name starts with K, the horse's name with M (we seem to like the center of the alphabet!).
Birth months are curious as well, dog is Nov, child is Dec, husband is Jan and I am Feb.
Frivolous, for certain. But fun none the less! Thanks for something besides 'birth order' studies.
That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The statistics are weak!!
my name is anderson and i drive an acura! im fasinated with names and thing they are totally cool i loved the study! i also think that people at the front of the alfphabet may do better and be more out going due to the fact they didnt have a choice in school a's always go first!
I haven't read the paper, but it still bothers me that some people are willing to reject the idea simply because they can think of few Chris's or Dan's who attended good law schools, or just because they know an Al or Alicia who earned poor grades in school. Science is about capturing averages, not about explaining every person. If researchers discovered that a drug out-performed a placebo in ridding some population of disease, it would be a valid finding even if the drug "worked" for only 20% of the people - and thus even if 80% of the people claimed its ineffectiveness. If, as the article claims, the effect of names on GPA was "just a fraction of a point," then my guess is that this isn't something that we will be able to notice in everyday life, and hence isn't something to be rejected (or accepted) based on personal experience.
As several have said, this article was a waste of time, and not necessarily true, though it does provide some interest. My initials are pretty much smack dab in the middle of the alphabet and I excelled as a student...more so than my brothers who's initials start closer to the beginning. Next we'll be talking about this with birth order! There have to be other factors here.
Also, if K 'strikes out' so much, how does that explain the letter or the sound of the letter being the choice for successful brands in marketing??
So if this is true how did I end up in the 14 out of 218 students in my High School graduating class, found myself on the dean's list every semester of my college career and graduated Summa *** Laude drive a Buick live in Putney, VT named my daughter Leah Mckenzie married an Angela and my initals are MJR? Wow what a waste of time. This is like the study I read a short time ago that cigarettes and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol were bad for you.
This would explain some things.
My name is Jessica and my husband is Jerod.
My parents are Doug and Debbie.
My in-laws are Randy and Rainell.
Go figure.
My name is Kelia, my husband's name is Kreilyn (unintentional), my daughter's name is Kimaya (intentional), drive a Kia (unintentional, I thought). I did very well in school, but my husband was not an outstanding student - suppose that comes from being in the middle of the alphabet? I do know, consciously, that I like the letter K, and we did give our daughter an uncommon "K" name to go along with ours, but I hope that it is not what has driven the good and bad decisions I have made in my life!! Interesting report, nonetheless.
i think this is ridiculous. your name has nothing to do with what car you buy, etc. you buy a honda because you like the way it looks and how it performs, you live in houston because you like it there or you got a job there, and you marry heather because she's cute and you love her. all of these things did not happen because your name starts with an "H." don't we have better things to worry about in this world?
Shaun from Columbus, OH who drives a Honda and dates Trisha
Hmmmm......well, there you go....
this explains why I (Karen) live in Kentucky, and my mom (Eleanor) lives in El Paso!
Darnit!! And here I was taught in college that it was probably genetics, and upbringing.
Who knew?? I had a name of LE, now it's LB, and my daughter is SB. I hope it goes off of last name so that she gets good grades when time comes. :-)
Sara in San Diego drove a Subaru. I now live in Denver, but miss San Diego and still have my poor Subaru despite her 230,00+ miles.
And come on, it's not a waste of money, at the very least it is interesting and taught some people how to properly conduct a sutdy!
My first and last name (maiden) start with the same letter - E. As for kids: girl (the oldest), starts with V, first son, starts with D, second son starts with B. Who's the brains (academeically) - the V - has two degrees. Followed by the D(no degree) and the B( in middle school). Did you compare this alphabet theory with birth order?
My name is Mary and I own a Martial Arts Studio. Hey, does this work using the chinese alphabet? How about Farsi?
I really do own a martial arts studio. Can your kid kick ...
Statistics is an integral part of my career. Incidentally, Benjamin Disraeli was the first to use the saying "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics". It was only made popular in the US by Mark Twain. It refers to the fact that statistics can be easily manipulated and incorrectly interpreted by biased observers.
Even if this study is not methodologically flawed (and there is no way to tell from this summary) we must ask ourselves what is a meaningful difference? Consider the difference in strikeouts for K's versus non-K's. A measly 1.6% difference. It may very well be statistically significant, as the writer asserts. But if you have a large enough sample size any difference will be significant; it is up to the investigators to determine how much of a difference is really meaningful.
Indeed, as the author states, there is a role for chance in any study where statistics are used. There is no way the investigators can tell whether or not their findings are due to chance, bias, or some other phenomenon (consider the fact that they have not taken into account alphabetical seat assignments, as mentioned several times below). If the study follows conventional medical statistic standards, there is a 5% chance that the results are due to chance alone, and this probability is inflated as the number of comparisons they make increases.
My question is, who thought it would be interesting and pertinent to study this hypothesis? It's a load of codswallop in my humble opinion.
my name is S, I am married to D and I have Jetta ....now where did I go wrong?
Wow, I just changed my kids name to AAA from 'F'rank, hope it works! He was a little upset at first but as soon I as told him he will be getting all A's he calmed down. I probably should have done it before he turned 30 though.
Furthermore... I can't resist but to point out that maybe - just maybe - the people who can relate to this study are no more than Narcissistic Nancy's and Ned's who gravitate to partners, cities, and consumer goods with names beginning the same as theirs because they are so much in love with themselves...?
No offense.
First You might want to check facts again, because if you did do your research you would releasize that the number one baseball player with the most amount of strike outs, his first and last name doesn't start with the letter "K". It may be noticed that though there are a lot who strike out with the letter "K" in their name but what relevance does it have, when the one player with the most strike outs does not have the Letter "K" in his first name.
Second that whole spill about if your name starts with an "A" or "B" you'll get good grades, but if it starts with a "C" or "D" you wont. Although if your name starts with a "C" or "D" and you get into Law School it will be some second rate one, if you are going to take the time to write this article do some research. How about:
Charles Fried (starts with a "C")
Duncan Kennedy
Christopher Columbus Lendall
Daniel Meltzer
Charles Nesson
Charlies Ogletree
David Souter (assiociate justice to the supreme court) (first name start with a D)
Last I checked Harvard Law School was not some second string Law School, RESEARCH, Assumption and Guessing won't get you very far. A lot of these people are now professors and some are supreme court justices, now if you want to feel free to ask them their GPA go ahead, but off of what I know, I think their scores were high enough to 1. Get into Harvard Law 2. Graduate from Havard law 3. Become a Supreme Court Justice

So that explains everything.
BUSH = bonehead, bumbleing idiot, brain dead, bafoon
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bafoon? Bumbleing?
LOL! With your spelling skills, or lack of, you're in no position to be criticizing other peoples intellect.
This SRS is dating a JSB, drives a KO, but dreams of owning an MC, and lives in ICT, KS.
Maybe I'll eventually meet and marry Samuel S. Smith, move to Sangaree, South Carolina and trade in the Optima for a Saturn, but until then I happen to think these researchers are simply finding needles in haystacks.
Interesting... especially as I've been giving thought to a daughter's name. Have you ever noticed how many female names (world wide) end in 'a'... with an "ah" sound? And, take that a step further, how many of the most beautiful women in the world have an a at the end of their names? Angelina? Diana? Can you think of others?
I don't get it.
as a mother of 3 sons whose names start with C, D, and Z.....this article is kinda insulting....its like the article is saying my sons are doomed from the get go....my oldest boy "C" is 11 years old and has been in the gifted and talented program in school and has an 11th grade reading level....he also maintain an A/B average....i dont believe this is a good article.
You might be right...I am TA and I own a Toyota Avalon!
How about a Danyelle G. Who married a Douglas G. Her initials stayed the same. However they drive an Escort live in Pa in a town that starts with a B. They moved from Ohio in a city that starts with a T. While in school, Danyelle was an A-B rarely C student While Douglas dropped out and never finished. Danyelle went onto college and got all A's and B's and became a chef. So the only part that holds true is that Danyelle G. married a Douglas G. I wonder if subconsiously she just wanted to keep her initials the same?!?
What a study! Must be a slow news day.
Sorry, I just don't think so.
My name is Jill. I am married to Mike. I live in Alhambra and drive a Ford.
My conscious or unconscious mind obviously does not rule my life.
The grade thing is easy to explain. Teachers often assign seats in alphabetical order. Students in the front of the room can see and hear better and get called on more and therefore get better grades.
i guess people don't realized that the numbers are so small but significant that peoples' initials having to do w/ their choices.
there is a 1% difference between the batters striking out so it's like once every 100 times of something happening... so when you have a family of 20 but no one falls under the initials w/ grades threoy, it just means that none of u and ur family members is that 1 of 100.... and not to mention some people hate their names/ initials so that may also be a subconcious response that they subconciously choose not to go w/ their initials...
my initials are R.H.K.L, got straight As, live in WC and drove a toyota.... but i think for me it's more about how my parents taught me that "liking my initials".... i mean i CAN"T afford a Rolls Royce!...
Well, my name is Phoebe and I do own a Nissan Pathfinder.
Okay, this is too funny. My name is Sue and I drive a Subaru.
I'm sorry but I have to say this, only in America would someone come up with this nonesense, I agree with KurtZ66 and Kaelinda that the American taxpayers money was not used on this piece of nonesense.
WOW! My name is Lia and I looked at so many different cars and finally bought a LEXUS! I knew I was destined to get it.. My daughter's name starts with an A she is a straight A student and plans to attend an Ivy league school. Glad to hear they want names starting with A !
As for the rest of you whose name is at the bottom, get over it and stop saying this study is a waste of time...however, there are exceptions to every rule: BUSH !
This seems pretty silly and yet....my name is Carol. I drive a Chevy & live in a Cottage on a Cul de sac in Carolina. However, I was straight A student, also a wiriter & my pen name is Aubrie.
