As the staff here at Level Up originally conceived this blog, our mandate for was to cover videogames, technology and pop culture. The plan was to establish our credibility by launching with just videogames, then slowly add content in the other two categories. But during a late November retreat, as we took stock of what we'd accomplished during the first two months of our existence, we realized that it didn't make sense to shoehorn tech and entertainment into what had evolved into a very game-focused blog. So rather than confuse you, dear reader, we decided to launch a separate blog devoted to technology.
That blog, The Revolution Will Not Be Digitized, went beta on January 5th, just before the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. During its brief existence, we've already posted on topics including how children's allowances are being revamped for the digital age, an assessment of an intriguing new PC and videogame peripheral, and musings of the fallout from Steve Jobs' announcement of the Apple iPhone--written in the form of an iTunes playlist. And even though the two parts of our growing blog empire are distinct entities, the lines between technology and videogames often blur. That's why we'll occasionally post links to relevant material from our tech blog here at Level Up, under the rubric of The Revolutionary. Welcome to The Revolution.
