That's good news regarding the PS3 vs. Xbox 360 versions of DMC4. I've thrashed the previous three games on PS2 and have made an association between Sony and the DMC titles - it wouldn't feel right playing DMC on 360.

@ latinogamer - while game devs might use development kits that allow the easy porting of assets amongst a variety of platforms, I don't believe it would be good for the consumer. We'd likely see payment for a console costing a whole hip, let alone just the pocket. Development of new technologies is driven by competition, so we'd likely see a stagnating. And a number of other points that I'm struggling to write in full thanks to overheating in this damned, broken airconditioned office.

With more and more notable titles being released cross platform, including PC, the Dennis Dyack age of having one platform to work on, is moving into fruitation.  Especially if other developers, Japanese or American go the Capcom way and create the game on a similiar 'MT Framework' what is holding the consumer back from owning one gaming system.  The difference I see in todays' gaming world, you buy a PS3 for Sony exclusives or a 360 for Microsoft exclusives or a PC to play MMOs and RTS.

@StolenName: I did see Devil May Cry 4 running on both Xbox 360 and PS3. They were indistinguishable, other than the typical differences between how the PS3 handles color as opposed to the 360, the former being a bit more vibrant. I won't know for certain until both games ship, but based on what I've seen thus far, both Xbox 360 owners and PS3 owners should be happy with Devil May Cry 4. Very happy.

Well that was interesting. DMC is one of my favourite twitch based combo franchises. The appeal of jumping straight into fights, ripping out "Sweet!" moves and clobbering enemies without the need to solve complex puzzles and perform timed button sequences sold me the DMC franchise over God of War and the fluid combat mechanic helped bury Ninja Gaiden in my shelf.

It's interesting to hear Kobayashi state that the two characters represent the experienced and inexperienced players and I'm glad that thought has been put into encouraging new comers to become accustomed to the mechanics. Enticing my little bro to play DMC3 was pointless, thanks to his defeatist attitude - die more than twice on a single boss and he puts the controller down - despite his love for the the "cool" Dante character. Hopefully he'll find DMC4 more accessible.

Articles like these help remind me that I'm actually an above average videogame player, able to pick up most games, no matter what genre, and instantly grasp the mechanics and become a decent player after a short period. I'm glad that the developer has taken into account the positioning of their title and actively working to make it more accessible without losing that 'core, complex gameplay that I love.

Lost Planet sucked on PC, suffering terrible framerates and really, below quality graphics as well, even on high end systems. Strange that it's developed on PC yet can't be played on the system! My hope is that the progress Capcom is making toward developing games that are of equal quality on both PS3 and Xbox 360 will be adopted by other companies such as EA - I'm glad they're taking this approach. Although, I'm concerned that the PS3 version may not be up to scratch.

N'Gai, did you see DMC4 running on 360 and / or PS3 and are able to give a comparison on quality between the two titles?
