I read "the Leaves" article not really understanding what exactly he wanted out of the enthusiast press.  He seems hung up on this idea that they should be engaged in this renaissance endeavor to make each review a work of art by utilizing all the skillz that apparently would be acquired by completing the freshman level of college courses.  To me it seems that the use of "creative" writing styles in the creation of a critical piece of writing is out of place.  Nor do I think that any of those of us that regularly read game reviews are looking for some kind of opus on the state of gaming and the gaming industry.  Mostly I just want a concise objective look at the game, but peppered with some flavor from the enthusiast side of the author as well.  I think in most cases that's what I get.

That said I do consider the recent article/blog post (whatev) from N'Gai to BE an opus of great scope and of excellent quality.  Like I said....not getting the leaves guy at all.
