Aerosmith hasn't been relavant for decades. The current rumored song list lacks any real meat anyone 30 or younger. Guitar Heros only plus was it's younger more heavy tracklist which kept the youngians amused. There is nothing for those kids in this new Guitar hero title. Meanwhile Harmonix and MTV games ahve been releasing constant quality Download content. Guitar hero's further hints that this title will add support for more instruments further proclaims that Rock Band has the better setup.

Then there's the exodus of fans who were upset over the craptacular battle mode in Guitar hero 3 which was then compounded by Activision stifling controller compatibility on the PS3.

If you visit Billboard I am sure that their record sales would show that they are very relevant. If anything the success or failure of this title will determine if we see future exclusives.

I'm not so sure about that, N'Gai. For Train Kept a Rollin', Harmonix did a cover of the Aerosmith song, which itself was a cover of another original performance. Kinda complex, but they don't actually need rights from Aerosmith to do this.

The same principle applied in Guitar Hero 2, when they did a cover of Van Halen's cover of the Kink's "You Really Got Me." Van Halen doesn't allow any of their songs to be used in these games, but Harmonix was able to bypass rights approval in this case.

It sounds to me from Activision's statement that Harmonix actually has one or two yet-to-be-released Aerosmith songs lined up for DLC. Maybe they plan to release them when GH:Aerosmith comes out. :)

This exclusive business is really disgusting. But oh well, at least in music there is so much to choose from I won't miss Aerosmith at all when I exclusively play Harmonix games.
