Writing, not story. I'm actually interested in the universe they've constructed, but it's slammed together so haphazardly that I was left with a bad taste in my mouth when I finished the campaign mode, even though I had a great time playing the game.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Aside from my gripes about the terrible, TERRIBLE dialog (summer blockbusters don't make you cringe at every other sentence uttered by the characters), a user on the 1UP boards had the best description about the erratic plot:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;Rust lung, what is it? Its a disease that gears contract on the battle field an... NEXT SCENE. We have to get into this facility, set up the bomb. Ok we're in, giant tubes, sketchy monsters. Wait what is this place what are we doing her... NEXT SCENE. The lambant? Wait how or why did he just absorb that dead loc... NEXT SCENE. Wait Marcus is that your father? I thought he was dea... NEXT SCENE. &amp;quot;You shouldve followed the path your father did Marcus.&amp;quot; Wait what do you mea... NEXT SCENE.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It felt like I was dragged kicking and screaming away from each developing plot point.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The odd thing about all of it is I don't think anyone really wants to commit to saying who failed and who succeded. &amp;nbsp;I'm sure in the end it will come to a monatary evaluation, but I hope a lot of us will weigh these choices on more then just sales figures.&lt;/p&gt;
