Your technique is superior to the rest out there. But I just have to comment on your 'This is a violent sport, people...' I don't agree at all. I think I hear a little humor between the lines, but to me every little boy and girl should give judo (or ju-jutsu or karate) a serious try-out. It is very healthy for young people to experience what they can accomplish with their body under safe conditions and having a good teacher. In martial arts you learn much more about your own strength and weaknesses than almost all other sports. Certainly badminton or tennis :-)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What you have witnessed is the elite fighting for medals. Judo is so much more than this. It's like boxing: You can train hard and enjoy a truly great sport (or as a lifestyle) but you don't have to enter the ring.&lt;/p&gt;
