The Democrats have Bruce Springsteen, Republicans have Hank Williams, Jr., and Hugo Chávez has, well,

The US would be very smart to worry more about this then the middle east. Russia has aircraft in Venezuela and recently completed maneuvers with it's navy in the Gulf of Mexico. It is a lot easier to strike the USA from South America then Asia or Africa. This seems to have been lost on the last several administrations. One can only hope the next one figures it out.

Comradeyap:

There is a saying in politics that says if you promise to rob Peter to pay Paul you will always have the unconditional support of Paul.  Chavez has been a master of that game but it will come to an end when Peter no longer has anything steal.  Chavez is a delusional megalomaniac and he will end up ruining Venezuela in the same way the Mugabe has ruined Zimbabwe.  And that is a sad thing,because the Venezuelan people deserve better than that.

@comradeyap:

Are you kidding me?  Have you been to VZ?  Have you seen the city of Caracas?  Have you seen the increase in crime,  the overly taxed goods.  The upper and middle class citizens of his country are treated like criminals, or worse.  His only agenda is to rule for his own love, not to help his people.  I've witnessed his country first hand, and I've seen the split he's caused in his own country.  I've seen the pollution, and the blatant corruption going on.   He cares about power, and staying in power at all costs, including arresting innocent people.   He has done nothing for the poor of his nation except give them hand outs.  Keep a people fat and happy, and they won't question you.  Teach them to work and excel, and things change. Chavez simply wants a nation of people who are appeased so he can do what he wants without question... move along with your ridiculous comment!

This article is written in hope and prayer than based on facts. The USA and the western world would  pray for President Hugo Chavex to loose, but we in the East and the third world would like to see him win.

President Hugo Chavez cares only for his people, those who ahve been marginalised for centuries right up to the rise of President Hugo Chavez and he has done a lot for the poor of his nation. I can't see the majourity of Venezuelans rejecting him for one who will most likely to be a puppet of the USA.
