Elvis Presley served in the Korean War? Interesting fact, seeing as how the KW was over in July 1953 and EP was in the US Army (in Germany, no less) from 1958 to 1960.

With something that easily verifiable that you get wrong, how can we be sure the multiple-great grandfather of Johnny Depp is a true fact? Or any other of the "facts" you propose.

Forgive me if I choose not to believe anything else you've written.

Please do your research before writing an article.

Elvis Presley was not in the Korean War, known fact.

Mr. Depp did have an uncle who served in Viet Nam. But I am questioning the ancestor in the Revolutionary War and everything else you have written. Why make erroneous statements...all you have to do is the research.

The Korean War is over??? Better tell that to the Koreans. They don't think it is over. Neither do the United States troops stationed in Korea right now.

A war is ended by a peace treaty. No peace treaty was ever signed. Active hostilities could resume at any time. Therefore, the war is not over. Since the Korean War is not over now, it was not over when Presley served in the military.

What was the point of this article? Slow news week? Couldn't find anything else to write about so you figured "Hey its Memorial Day weekend so I'll link celebrities to the day, regardless of how trivial and banal the association is"...

Seriously, this article would have been worth writing and publishing IF.... IF... any of the celebrities you featured had, themselves, actually served in the military. But they didn't (with the exception of Elvis and you got his story completely screwed up).

So you wrote a pointless piece to please yourself and your editor and to fill content.

I concur with sharilyn3.... stop obsessing about these celebrities. Some of them are, I'm sure, very nice people and they oftentimes entertain us with their movies, television shows, songs, sports endeavors, etc.....

But give me a freaking break. You're telling me that Johnny Depp played a pirate because one if his ancestors, 233 years ago, fought in the American Revolution??? I think the mega million paycheck was probably what drew him to the project.

Just stop it... okay? We don't freaking care.
