I am a huge Obama supporter, but I find myself getting worried (primarily due to media speculation of candidates for Cabinet posts) that this is just going to be a rehash of old Clinton aides in the WH and Cabinet.   I think we'd be well served if Cabinet level positions were held by leaders of industry and academia, which doesn't mean a good investor as Treasury Sec (Buffett) or putting Rebublicans in charge of key posts such as State, Defense or Energy.

In the aftermath of its warm, fuzzy glow, tears of joy are shed and proclamations made by people on their knees, hands clasped, looking gratefully skyward in thanks, sobbing women on the View, cry elation for a supposed landmark election for Civil Rights, an historic campaign for the first Black President.

While Farrankan describes Obama as the “coming new Messiah” David Gerber on CNN likens him  the “Jeremiah to Martin Luther King’s Moses” (huh boy…)

As Oprah Winfrey triumphantly proclaims “America did the right thing”,

I seem to be the only one to notice that

• gay people still aren’t allowed their constitutional right to free speech, to call their unions marriage, nor right to Taxation with representation and have legal marriage, that

• the most qualified candidate,  a woman, was dismissed in a media blizzard-smear campaign of misogyny, lies and phony polls, had to

• beat her opponents in 21 consecutive debates, still loses to the most unqualified candidate in history simply because he is a man. He voted 131 times "present". We needed a Madam President, not a mr. present.

He got more votes, for and against, than any other candidate in history. Americans remain divided more than ever.

It’s time now for the corrupt Obama to return the favors to his corporate hedge-fund backers for the 90% of his raised 700 million, (oh, you thought it came from small donations on the internet? Ha, ha). They still own America (and Obama).

And now Rahm Emanuel, the most contentious frontman Obama could hide behind,...tsk tsk...

Now delusional with a new sense of equal rights, America remains a hypocrisy ruled by corrupt corporate bigots.

I think a Global Warming Czar position should be created, and filled by either James Hansen or Al Gore.

Yeah, why isn't Gore on the short list? This is a very essential posting and should be given the consideration it needs, We are talking about the future, the very near future that is in jeopardy. My vote is with JFK Jr. And why not Caroline for Education?

Final thought...the term of the Presidency of the United States should be incresed to five years.

Nawww...never mind....they'd just come up with 12-year plans instead of 10-year plans....

Pops,

Perhaps you didn't read the list closely enough.  Three out of the 5 'Other possibilities' noted above are from the Clinton administration, when little was done other than to brigde the gap between The Great Communicator and Elaine 'Mrs. Mitch McConnell' Chao, as we gave tax breaks for shipping jobs to countries with insanely lax environmental laws.  One is a Yalie and worked for H. Dubya during a time when wetlands were described as 'mudpuddles' and suburban sprawl here in Chicago and elsewhere paved over millions of acres of corn and soybeans that we shall be wishing we could eat some day.  The other one heads up the EPA in the toxic waste dump known as New Jersey.  Driven along I-80 and the GW Bridge lately?

Combine that with his 'team of economic advisors', that includes the founder of the Tri-Lateral Commission, a Bonesman, some Bilderbergers and Council on Foreign Relation'ers, a bunch of Rockefeller cronies, and a whole lotta folks (as I like to call them) whose business interests resulted in the consolidation of the NYSE board of directors - and all I can say is a very disillusioned, "Chenge?  No.  We CAN'T!"

I'm so looking forward to our federal agencies once again being lead and staffed by public servants, not corporate servants.
