I think we best be getting on with the promise of making America energy independent.Iran just asked OPEC to reduce production by yet another 1.5 million barrels per day.This past year and the record gas prices played a huge part in our economic meltdown and seriously damaged our society.We keep planning to spend BILLIONS on bailouts and stimulus plans.Bail us out of our dependence on foreign oil. Make electric plug in car technology more affordable. It cost the equivalent of 60 cents a gallon to drive an electric plug in car. The electric could be generated from wind or solar. Get with it! Utilize free sources such as wind and solar. Stop throwing away money on things that don't work. Invest in America and it's energy independence. Create cheap clean energy, create millions of badly needed green collar jobs. Put America back to work. It is a win-win situation. We have to become more poractive citizens, educate ourselves and demand our elected officials move this country forward into the era of energy independence. This reporter views Obama as reaching back in history to cherry-pick the best, brightest & most disciplined among Bill Clinton's old team players. However, appointments such as these have no element of CHANGE called for by Obama nor hoped for by those who voted for him. We voters, old & young, wanted Obama to pick an experienced team, but are there no others - best, brightest, and disciplined - in the "experienced" pool?

We have serious problems which need serious people. If they turn out to be recycled players from the Clinton administration that means the talent pool has again been limited by practice and politics. Most new administrations bring back members from previous ones. Such is Washington where the same faces keep getting facelifts. They are all insiders who know how the system works and how to work it. Maybe this time they will manage a better result than the last time, but the odds are a bit long. Change from replacing Republican insiders with Democratic insiders means only that the Democrats now intend to push their agenda. The new President promised to bring change, but he will have a hard time doing it with the same type of partisan, political creatures as before.

Fresh faces don't have experience and crucial knowledge... Where else would Obama find the right people for the job but folks who have served in the successful Clinton Administration. The thing is 4-8 years from now, those people and the New People engaging in politics, will then be from the - Obama Administration. And that will be the "Change" ... it's working... be patient, and be part of that change, by becoming a better person in your community, and family. It doesn't matter if Obama is perfect or imperfect, the problem is what he has to work with is imperfect, but we elected him because we thnk that he has the wisdom to figure out how to make it work out. He has a huge job ahead of him. We are lucky to have him even caring about doing this. He could have had a nice comfy life with his family and hobbies, and avoided the harshness that comes with being President, when our world is going down. Let's be grateful and not quick to criticize.

It seems the era of Federal governance based on a intellectual, deliberate processes has begun! Thank God for a president that deliberates strategically and has a transition team which, defines positions based on a clear vision, well-reasoned objectives, and the identification of candidates with core values and qualifications necessary to deliver stated objectives. It is my opinion, due to the deep and pervasive problems this country faces, that now is not the time to pitch out candidates who possess "Washington Corporate Knowledge" and the discipline to deliver positive results in favor of new faces who have limited to no knowledge about Washington and its inner-workings, all in the name of change. That kind of change would deliver even more chaos and plunge us deeper into oblivion.

I believe President-elect Obama's transition team strategy to go back to a successful government administration, choose the best and brightest from that lot, is a wise approach and will produce results the electorate is looking for. The change we seek in Washington is primarily from the uninformed, unintelligent, heavily-lobbied, government that served over the last eight years. I applaud the Obama transition team on their deliberate, intelligent approach and pray they keep up the good work and not be swayed from their task of delivering "Smart Government"

I'm confident that President-Elect Obama has assembled a dynamic team of people who will lead our country in a new and positive direction. They will also restructure work, return our soldiers from Iraq, redesign energy, and take the reins on the economic crisis we all face. But change also begins with each and everyone of us as Americans. We are the ones who set the example of Democracy for the rest of the world. We will succeed shoulder to shoulder. We should be attacking healthcare, economic, energy, education, environmental and other problems, not each other. I'm ready to help when and wherever I can to lay the foundation for a better future for my grandchildren. I hope their are other grandparents out there who will do the same.

Obama is a breath of fresh air. No more "your doin a great job Brownie". Obama is going to get good people into his administration not good old boys who don't have a clue. Bush brought in a bunch of simple minded friends many of which had no experience in the position they were assigned. Some people think that Karl Rove was a genuis, I think he is a criminal. I hope it is not to late to undo all of the damage Bush did to this wonderful country.

Three points:

1. Apart from some real old-timers, the only Democrats with experience from government are those who worked in the Clinton Administration, and even when "change" is the theme of the day, anybody who knows anything about Washington know that experience, connections and inside-baseball savvy are necessary to get things done.

2. Just because somebody worked for the CLinton Administration doesn't mean that they are raging CLintonistas or even that they are wedded to Clinton's policies or his governing style.

3. People should remember that especially compared to the last eight years, the Clinton Administration was a Golden Era of peace and prosperity when great wealth was created, poverty and crime fell, and American enjoyed an exalted status throughout the world. So perhaps re-adapting some of the policies and personnel from that time may not be worth thing in the world.

EXPERIENCE was regarded as unimportant & irrelevant in deciding who should be the next president. Look what's going on now, the Obamanites are combing the nation to find the most experienced people to fill in his administration. McCain was quoted as too old to be president, why seek his cooperation to run your show; Hillary voted for the war, why make her Secretary of State?

This is a classic & successful demonstration of the profound hypocracy in politics.

I'm disappointed that President- Elect Obama is using so many Clinton's people...whre is their loyalty. I am also disappointed that Susn Rice didn't get a position in the cabinet. Maybe she will. She held her own and she is loyal. Obama must be careful because there will be many daggers sent in his direction..he is going to need people who will protect him and not throw him in front of the bus.

It sounds to me like that the president elect is being extremely thoughtful an delibarte in his appointments to positions on his staff within the white house's iner circle . To me this sound like a very reponsible an thoughtful president elect as well as he should be. An i feeel sure that he will continue in this vain of thoughtfulness with the way in which he handles affair of state with regards to the economy , health care , national security , workers workplace rights, education, civil rights, human rights, I personnaly feel like that this president elect has the temperment to an fore thought processes to truly be one of the greatest president's in the history of this country. i personnaly wish his presidenecy the best for him his family an this great country . an i think that the president elect will do his level best to to help lift all boats from, the homeless people in this country to the middle class workers that have been totally ingoried under this current adminstration to the coporations. an most importantly is that he act srickley for the betterment of this country thank you

Let me get this straight. Clinton's initial cabinet was "amateur hour" but Obama's cabinet and staff (not even close to all chosen yet) is "very grown up" BECAUSE he has picked 3 former Clinton officials as his first cabinet and staff. Talk about a complete lack of logic. Are you kidding me?

And the whole "palace" reference, trying to imply Obama is some sort of King is just way over the top. Is the entire media really so head over heels in love with Obama that they can't even write a coherent logical paragraph of argument before lurching to the "Obama is the greatest ever" conclusion.

Please understand, Mr. Hirsh, and the rest of the "in the tank" media, some of us still have our brains switched to the "ON" position, so if you're going to call Obama the new Lincoln or Kennedy or King or God, at least give us a coherent reason why, unless you just don't care anymore, which this "article" suggests.

Obama hasn't even taken office yet for heavens sake.

He has been friends with some of the most well connected idividuals in D.C for a long time and he has been living in D.C for

Obama knew all about government secret agencies and the exsistence of UFO's before he became President. There are very few people in

Government that have access to the world's knowledge. It is shared amongst an elite few and they are very

secretive. When Truman was informed that UFO's were discovered a special part of the military was asked to analyze the material that was found.

This military hired top scientists who were sworn to secrecy. Over time these technologies were adopted by

defense contractors and slowly released to the public. The people who run these entities work in conjuction

with the CIA. Only people at the top of these agencies know whats going on. Knowledge is power and "Power is knowledge"(eddiwhere 08). If the public

had access to even a fraction of this knowlege these elites have, then there would be a panic. UFO's is just the tip of the iceberg. The President represents these

elites and this is why they help protect this knowlege. It is like if someone discovered the original arc of the covenant and the original ten commandments.

For example Muhammed was not visited by GOD but rather SATAN. Muhammed confused Satan for GOD. IF he thought GOD WAS SATAN then he would not follow his

will. Think about it. The devil is very cunninPart of Evil is deception. If God had passed his message on to Humans. Would Satan not do the same. It is very difficult for

humans to think like this. Muhammed thought God was telling him to conquer the earth until everyone became a Muslim and recognized there was only one GOD ALLAH.

Satan is very powerful and very cunning. TOday we have people committing suicide in the name of ISLAM. THAT is what Satan intended to do. THis is his way of fighting

GOD. ANd he did it in a genius way. He disguised himself like GOD and used Muhammed as his conduit.

Muhammed confused Satan for GOD. IF he thought GOD WAS SATAN then he would not follow his will. Think about it.

This is why MUHAMMED was so successful because he really believed he was carrying out the will of GOd and justified murder in his name.

IF you read about Muhammed's life you will see that what I am stating is backed by facts.

IT is hard for us humans to think outside of our '"domain" because we have been indoctrinated to think a certain way until knowledge hits us.

Here is another example. If you bend space you can cross dimensions and therefore can literally step from one world to another without any time going by.

As an Independent (I voted for Nader because HE didn't, and couldn't and wouldn't have voted for the Wall Street clowns' bailout) --I applaud Obama's cautious approach to his selections, so far, but am suspicious of his desire not to hurt feelings of his ardent inside supporters. Unfortunately in DC you have to get your skirts dirty in order to gain the necessary experience to keep the governing machinery flowing.Even Honest Abe had to hold his nose with some of his own selections, but never hesitated to keep the Union together. America has capable men/women, never tainted by political corruption who could do the job, but Obama , being pragmatic under the present dire circumstances and the need to hit the ground running, is dipping into the readily available pool rather than a time-consuming search for the very best who would replace the whole bunch of mostly self-serving sycophants waiting in the wings. Ralph Nader for Attorney General-Richardson for Secretary of State-Hillary for Health and Human Services-Clark for Secretary of Defense.

If Obama selects Hillary Clinton, it should be for Health and welfare. Considering the fact that it was what she used in her campaign to influence people to vote for her. She started the program to "leave no child behind" and maybe she could make good on her promises. God knows the nation needs a program like that to help educate all the children that can't afford to go to college because the tuitions are so high. Someone living on welfare and a limited income can't afford to send their children to expensive colleges. Some boys and girls enlist in the armed services so that they can go to school and get better educated, but it doesn't always work out that way, they are sent to war unprepared for the enormous consequences they face. I've known some who get sent over to fight after just finishing boot camp and don't know what they are going to be doing. So going into the armed services just for an education is not the right thing to do.

grandmamary...you might be interested to know that the "expensive" schools, like Harvard and Yale are what they call "need based blind". If you are a hard working student, and deserve to go to Harvard or Yale and your parents make under $70,000 a year...you get a full ride. The days of students not getting a great education because of the cost is a thing of the past in those "Expensive" schools. What you do have to do though...is work hard and deserve it.
