I live in California now. I got my post graduate degrees from Pitt back in the early 90s (MA and MBA) . For all I remember, people in Pa. value tradition and they are also smart and rational. From time to time I still miss the state where I spent 4 years in, and the intelligent people with mild manner who helped inspire me when I was a student. I know they will make the right choice in picking a president!

It just amazes me that someone would write such a racist comment in 2008. The President should not be voted for because of their race or sex. The selection should be based on what they stand for! I am tired of Americans being stupid---I THOUGHT IT WAS 2008 not 1902! I hear people make comments why they are voting for one over the other-WHAT IS THIS?

Look at what policies the person stands.

Look at what their beliefs.

Look at their record for what they have voted for in the past.

Look at their running mates in the same way.

Democrat or Republican you have to know why you are voting or praying for one over the other. Be wise!!!God does have his hand in this election, but God looks within not the outside!

It seems the pundits are conceding a victory for Obama-Biden. This is an epiphany (politically) for America. The GOP electoral policy of spreading fear, false propoganda., and vicsceral prejudices finally is imploding. Reality, along with a better informed electorate and disgust with the way our country has been going (downhill) off and on since Reagan screamed for deregulation has made too many people angry to beleive anything negative about any kind of change for progress. I fear only for one thing-a post-election reaction of violence. Racist gun-nuts supporting McCain are a threat to public safety and Obama himself if Obama wins. If Obama loses and there is even a hint of ballot tampering all hell will break out in Black precincts, college towns, and "Blue" states

nowforthetruth. I watched CNN today. There are NO ties between ACORN and Obama. It is the McCain campaign that is trying to tie ACORN to Obama. If anybody passes gas at a McCain or Palin rally or townhouse meeting ya can betcha they'll blame Senator Obama een though Obama is nowhere around!! The McCain campaign frantically keeps grabbing at straws!! They are calling Senator Obama a terrorist, a radical, and a candidate different than them and us. If this is NOT race baiting, what the heck is? I have never seen such hateful accusations such as those being thrown out there by McCain, Pilan, their campaign, and the RNC. Perhaps American citizens should file a complaint with the right sources for assassination of character, slander, and misinformation against McCain, Pilan, their, ther surrogates, and the RNC. I think it is a serious mistake to think iof rural folks, be they in central PA or elsewhere, as unsophisticated rubes. In times past the sources of information for rural people were limited and easily controlled by politicians. They were by nature frugal and conservative. Many were poor. Urban dwellers tended to think of rural citizens as uneducated and, frankly, not very smart. Now in a world of satellite television and the internet, sources of information are readily available and not very easily controlled by politicians. Now a farmer is considered an owner of a small- to medium-sized agrigusiness. And a rural wife is just as likely to be a fan of "Iron Chef" as her urban counterpart. And it's a fact ---- RURAL FOLKS ARE JUST AS SMART AS THEIR URBAN COUNTERPARTS. It would not be wise of any politician to take them for granted. And that has been McCain's greatest mistake.

Isn't it just like a Bucs fan to mistake the century--not just the year, but the century, mind you--when the Phillies last won the World Series? And by the way, the Worlds Series as we know it was not even around until 1903--well into the 20th Century. I did, however, appreciate the tidbit about Obama being a supporter of the Phils. We welcome him to the world of Phillies fandom. Decades of frustration, anger, and playing the blame game for their team's underwhelming history make Phillies fans mirror images of the Democratic Party since the Reagan era. True Phillies fans are hoping against hope for the best, but expecting a meltdown. If Obama makes it to the White House, maybe he can teach us how to deal with success if the team wins the WS.

They report stories before the even check the facts. Heck, one writer in the Detroit Freep Press could not even bother to check simple facts. She reported that McCain ran in 2004 for president. Pennsylvania will be a microcosm of the National election results. Obama will win going away. The electorate is going to sweep out the Republican party ina wave of revulsion over the last eight years and the last eight days.

I believe that most people are able to know that McCain/Palin campaign are saying and doing anything to get voted into the White House which includes lying on a stack of bibles but here are some facts that you may not be aware of very interesting.

The Obama’s are more focused on the economy to help every day people. McCain thinks the economy is strong. Huh? Admitting he knows nothing about the economy.

Mrs. McCain statement was astonishing with chills up her spine when Senator Obama didn’t sign for funds for troops. Senator McCain didn’t either.

When Senator McCain returned from Vietnam his wife (Carol) was injured, in a wheelchair. He left Carol and (3) children with a promise to pay her medical bills for life, to gain freedom to wed his then mistress, Cindy who is a recovering drug addict.

McCain agreed w/ Bush to start war in Iraq. He should explain and admit he agreed with Bush to send blank checks to Iraq ($10 Billion monthly). Iraq has a $29 Billion surplus and we are in crisis. McCain and Bush should be forced to get taxpayers refunded.

McCain tell the media he tries to keep U.S. money out of the terrorist hands.

I read in the news he was and perhaps is associated with an organization with ties to former Nazi collaborators, right wing death squads. (Iran-Contra) all sounds like a leader with good judgment.

Now, who is Sarah Palin? She has not traveled out of the U.S., no experience, and a list of hidden paper trails, she will not be forced to release before November 4th, and we cannot forget her association with Alaska Independence Party. America is blown to **** if she ever becomes President. She would do better on Saturday Night Live.

I support Obama and hope the conclusions of this article are correct. I still find it very hard to accept that older or middle aged white voters in Penn. and throughout the country will actually vote for a non white. I know the polls give Obama a comfortable lead. I know McCain has been bumbling and stumbling. I know the Jerry Springer type appeal of Gov. Palin is neutralized by the working class appeal of Sen. Biden. Still I worry that when it gets down to the voting booth, the 'force' of America past will beat the 'force' of America future.

African Americans are using the reverse racist card in this election and they should be chastized for it. Barack Hussein Obama should be questioned and attacked about his close association with a terrorist like Bill Ayers, his association with ACORN that is trying to steal the election for Barack Hussein Obama...why Obama is friends with Tony Rezko , why is he friends with Louis Farrakhan, why he accused Geraldine Ferraro and Bill Clinton as racist during the primary race, why Obama sat in a crazy racist radical church for 20 years and says he heard nothing wrong, why he said American troops are air raiding and killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan , Barack accepted $250,000.00 from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae...two key culprits in the current economic breakdown but he won't admit it nor return the money to the taxpayers...this all goes to the heart of a person's character to be the Commander-In-Chief...and Barack Hussein Obama has no character...he's just a liar who is trying to sneak his way into the White House. Barack Hussein Obama is the closest thing to a left wing Marxist socialist ideology politician the USA has seen and this is terrible for the economy. All the economist think tanks have already dismissed Obama's ideas of economic stimulation and the requiremnt to raise taxes as very harmful to a recovering economy. If Americans really are worried and serious about the economy its with Barack Hussein Obama and his economic plans that will hurt everybody in their pocket book. John McCain's economic proposals has way more broad support among the economic think tanks. Americans will be better off with the economy and their money with McCain as President instead of Barack Hussein Obama. Americans will be hurting in their pocket books way more if Barack Hussein Obama is President instead of John McCain. When you are in that both...think twice before you vote.

Barack Obama , Nancy Pelosi , Chris Dodd , Barney Frank , Reid , and a bunch other liberals in congress and senate who accepted huge sums of money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who are largely to blame for the current economic meltdown....these people including Obama should all be interrogated.

ACORN received $800,000 from the Obama campaign and the Obama camp says its just a "clerical error ". ACORN registered hundreds of thousands of phoney ballots across the whole United States to steal the election for Barack Hussein Obama. Wow...first the DNC cheated for Obama to win and now this is happening across the nation which is fraudulent and denying America a true democratic vote. ACORN = OBAMA...get it people !!

Since "ACORN" has done regristration for about 18 months and individuals has voted in the primaries did any of the " MICKEY MOUSE" OR McDonald address show up at the polls? HUMMM Is it possible someone could have slipped those papers in being that you have to show ID ? Who's inital the applicant with date and follow-up? Why are they all coming to light this month , x # of days before the election. Some how I smell a "BIG RAT" that smell like the big "R" party game play!!!!!1

Americans, ask yourself a few simple questions. As a registered Democrat, my first instinct was to vote Obama, but there are red flags popping up all around this man!

1. Why does Obama have so many radical, anarchist, socialist, marxist, middle eastern and otherwise dangerous family / friends? Every time we turn on the news, we are introduced to yet another shady character Barack Obama is involved with. Do we really want to elect Barack Hussein President when we always have to be concerned about his intentions / motives? We have NEVER before had a candidate where we had to question his alliance / loyalty to America. This is a very basic trust issue.

2. What is the Los Angeles Times hiding from Americans about Barack Obama's dinner meeting, just 6 months ago, with Bill Ayers (terrorist) and Khilidi (former member of terrorist palestinian liberation organization). The Los Angeles Times admits the video exists, but refuses to release it to be viewed by American voters. WHY??? Shouldn't we know everything about someone we are potentially going to elect President? The L.A. Times has endorsed Obama, so it stands to reason that they are trying to protect him by not showing what he did or said on that video. This is incredible that they refuse to show it. Ask yourself, WHY???? Could he be siding with these people on an issue that could hurt America? Could he be supporting some terrorist actions? Could he be intentionally deceiving us about Isreal? Maybe he wants to cut ties with our very important ally in the middle east. This would be EXTREMELY foolish and dangerous to America!

3. Why did Barack Obama recently visit Hawaii? He claimed it was to visit his ailing grandmother, who was on death's doorstep. Yet he didn't bring any of his family with him to say their last respects. We have not heard even a peep about her condition, or what he may have transpired between the two of them, does this not seem odd? It does to me. The news did report that the governor of Hawaii, met Barack on the tarmac with a envelope sealed by her office, that supposedly has a copy of his original birth certificate inside, but that CANNOT BE OPENED BY LAW UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION. WHY?!!!!! What is going on here? For those who may not have heard the story yet of this debacle, go to www.obamacrimes.com. This is a website of a Democrat lawyer who is suing Obama, claiming that the birth document Barack had posted on his website was proven by 2 independent document inspectors to by falsified. WHY?!!!! Why does Baracks birth certificate need to be hidden until after the election? Why would he falsify the one he posted? Is he not a citizen of the U.S.? That would make him ineligible to even run for President. Is this why it can't be opened until after the election?

There are some very bizarre things swirling around Barack Obama. We should not be having to question a candidates citizenship, loyalty, and trustworthiness this close to him being elected president. How can we elect someone who is hiding these important pieces of an ever growing puzzle? I really hate conspiracy theory type thinking, but my mind is starting to wonder if Barack is a person planted by terrorist Muslims, groomed to pull the wool over our eyes with his smooth orating and promises of something good for eveybody. Will he betray Isreal? He is already on video stating he wants to disarm America, reducing nukes and eliminating missle defense systems. He wants to make it difficult for Americans to bear arms by raising taxes on guns so high barely anyone could afford to buy one. He wants to make it a crime to shoot and kill a home invader who has illegally broken into your home.He would put you in jail for this? Why would an American president want to effectively disarm America militarily and personally, and make it a crime to shoot a home invader? Is it possible, he would open us up for his real allies (Ayres, Khaliddi, Wright) and radical Muslim nations to attack and destroy America from the inside out? Remember Reverend Wright saying "goddamn America!"? Remember Ayers stating he wish he had done more? Think about these things, Americans- this is creepy scary stuff. We need more answers- Obama is a relative newcomer with little known of his background. Can we trust this situation? I don't think I can. I will not be voting for the possiblr downfall of America. Just think what you would feel like if your vote hande America over to terrorists- just like that, quick and easy. DON'T BE FOOLISH.
