You may not like Bill, but sometimes you have to love him!

McCain thinks of himself a strong supporter of Veterans. What a joke. He doesn't support the soldier coming back from Iraq when you vote against VA benefits. He has received a D from some Veterans organizations. Plus forget womens issues he doesn't support them either. He only supports his equal. You know the crowd that make around $5,000,000.00 or more. According to McCain they aren't rich. Palin made over $l.2 million dollars last year. You know they are with 6 six pack crowd like Bush. I think people finally realize that finally they don't want to drink a beer with a president or vice president. I want them to be intelligent and on the job.

I think it's safe to assume you are a woman jusdging by your screen name. And if you are, and voting for McCain, then you didn't like Hillary for the issues, you liked her because she's a woman. And if that's the case, your decision to vote for McCain is tragic. Palin has been called the antichrist of feminism, and McCain has an abhorrent track record on womens issues.
It's sort of like being a Jewish Nazi sympathizer.
Good luck to you.
A man of great wisdom:

Actually, mcleodmn, I am a life-long Democrat who WAS thinking of voting for Obama at one point. Hilary was my first choice but I was open to Obama b/c I have never before voted Republican in a presidential election. There have been several things that have turned me off to Obama but I was still undecided until the debate. Obama not being able to remember the soldier's name was the nail in the coffin for me. I also thought McCain came across as more honest than Obama who seemed to be parsing words. I didn't even think Obama did well on the economic portion of the debate. I thought McCain really tore him up on the foreign relations section.
This from AP:
MILWAUKEE — The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was "ecstatic" when Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama mentioned during Friday's debate the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.
Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.
Jopek criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.
"I don't understand how people can take that and turn it into some garbage on the Internet," she said.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone that thinks Obama fumbled with Sgt. Jopek's name is just looking for any reason to attack. They weren't going to vote for him in the first place.
As the wife of an active duty military man who is deploying for the 3rd time I think it is a HUGE deal that Obama could not remember the name of the soldier. I have read stories about McCain's bracelet before and how he calls the soldier's mother every year on the anniversary of his death as a sign of respect and remembrance. He uses the bracelet as a kind of touchstone to make sure he always remembers the importance of the decisions he will make if he is elected. Obama apparently couldn't even remember the soldier's name!! To me that is inexcusable. If the soldier doesn't mean enough to you to remember his name then you should not be wearing that bracelet. I think there are clearly differences in the character and the integrity between McCain and Obama. I believe that McCain really cares about the soldier and his family. I think Obama only wears his because he knows McCain has one . I have lost all respect for Obama.
As for whether or not he remembered the name, clearly he did. It took him a moment to process the word to come out of his mouth, but that isn't indicative of anything. You could name dozens of instances where McCain had the same lengthy pause before answering a question or searching for a name. Hell, I have trouble finding simple words sometimes when I'm under stress.
What you're focusing on is the Faux News attempt to spin.
Obama did not bring up the bracelet in a cruel attempt to garner sympathy for his own position on the Iraq war. He could have used it to deflect criticism about the Surge and his stance on it, but no, he wore it without comment. And then McCain goes and uses it to build up some sort of emotional sympathy story. No offense, but no soldier would ever want to be used as some little pawn in political posturing. Given that Obama spoke of it only after the memory of a dead soldier was used as a blunt object to beat him with.
I respect candidates that honor the memory of the fallen soldiers, but I respect the candidate who doesn't use it for political purposes more. McCain shows even more callus disregard given he was once one of those in the service and would step on a grave to reach his own political aspirations. It was disgusting. Shame on McCain for what he did.
It seems to me this bracelet issue is a lot of noise about nothing. Obama obviously didn't get the email, or he would have respected the mother's wishes. And, yes, it was appropriate for Obama to mention his bracelet once McCain mentioned his. And if Obama had a moment of forgetfulness in which he coudn't recall the soldier's name, so what?
Defend Freedom, Defeat Obama !

Why does he so ?! Because Obama is a notorious liar !
Honor Bracelet versus Lapel Pin
As you've noted, Senator McCain raised the "Honor Bracelet" issue first.
Senator Obama's retort to Senator McCain's gamesmanship was appropriate, thus ending the 'Honor Bracelet' debate that night.
I wonder how many astute viewers noticed that Senator Obama was wearing a U.S. Flag 'Lapel Pin', but Senator McCain was not wearing the 'Lapel Pin' as a sign of patriotism.
I guess Senator McCain wasn't feeling patriotic, since he planned to tell the world that the North Vietnamese defeated the U.S. military during the Vietnam War!
As for broken promises...
When Senator McCain told GOD that he would stay married to his first wife, Carol Shepp, until the day he died (i.e. 'til death do we part), did he break his promise to GOD?
Is Senator McCain going to lose the election because he broke his promise to GOD or because he ran an erratic campaign?
It's not the mom... or the bracelet....but Obama didn't think to visit wounded troops! And FOLLOWED McCain as McCain made mention oft the men and thier families who are serving our nation and in harms way!
Obama is NO LEADER!
He's well versed in the Americans All Suck First campaign of the DNC!
