</description><category>Blog: Soldier's Home</category></item><item><title>re: Airline Goes Bankrupt, Homecomings Delayed</title><link>http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/soldiershome/archive/2008/04/25/airline-goes-bankrupt-troops-stranded-overseas.aspx#339669</link><pubDate>Sat, 26 Apr 2008 07:25:04 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">544c64cf-7058-4151-925a-a0fd041e73dd:339669</guid><dc:creator>exatastu</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;As a former flight attendant for ATA, I believe I can speak for our entire group, when I say we are gutted, pissed, in shock, etc., that this happened and that we were unable to bring the troops home. &amp;nbsp;We would have worked those flights for free to keep the airline going or to fullfill the contract, but alas the rug was pulled out from under us, no warning, no negotiation, no communication from the higher ups of any kind, and we are still left with no explanation on how this all happened. &amp;nbsp;On behalf of the entire ATA Flight Attendant Group, I do apologize for all of your delays in getting your family members home. &amp;nbsp;If there were anything we could have done to avoid this, believe me we would have!&lt;/p&gt;
