They contain powerful imagery and messages: veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan, and past wars -- including some

re: In Campaign Ads, Vets Makes Cases for Both Sides

Regardless of his military past, McCain has failed to support veterans' rights and benefits. He's also far more prone to put our service people in harm's way. His impulsive style of decisionmaking should concern everyone, but especially those in the military.

And I can tell you, it is an incorrect assumption that, because McCain is an ex POW, he supports Vets.

Behind the scenes, McCain votes AGAINST MOST VETERANS BILLS, the latest of which was for the returning GIs of our current wars. Dems voted for it.

People have forgotten we still have over 140,000 troops in Iraq. A large percentage are National Guard and Reservists. They are taking the biggest hit to their familiy income and stability.

John McCain has dishonored their sacrifce. and even goes on to question Obama. Outrageous!

Americans are ready to move on. Veterans and active military look forward to a great leader in President Obama.

Gulf War Vets for Obama!

The occupation and political morass we have in Iraq is something the military is not trained for, .. and should never been involved with in the first place. Bush opened an avenue for our enemies to establish a political strong hold where they had been absent and destabilized a region beyond repair. I would much prefer a deliberate and thoughtful response as to the "knee jerk" reactions we have had for the past 8 years, and would have for another 4 years if McCain were put in charge.

But we argue over this.. the more important issue is voting.. and you need to do it now.. in person or absentee ballot.. Nov 4th is going to be disaster, .. so vote early .. vote tody .. vote NOW!

I've voted, have you?

My medical benefits are now enriching contractors as I pay for what was promised. Bill Frists family and Humana soaked the GI.

The VA medical system still can not provide comprehensive care or perform timely services.

The last GOP plan I heard floated was "across the board Cuts in spending." Who is supposed to wait 5% longer for a new leg, or wait 5% longer for a clinic appointment. How much is McCain going to tax me for the value of my healthcare, from the pension I can just get by on?

I am a Vietnam Vet and I think he stinks on veteran isssues. On veterans issues, the Irag and Afaghanistn Vets give him a "D" rating. Vietnam Vets of America say he voted 1 out of 27 scored votes for veterans. The Disabled Americans (DAV) given him a 20% rating. From the same organizations Obama gets a B+, voted 26 out of 27 for vets, and 80% rating. Those ratings show who is truely for veterans and it is NOT John McCain. He lead Bush's efforts against Senator Webb'ss D-VA new GI Bill for veterans. Bush thanked him at the sigining it must have been for trying to sink the Bill.

They just belong to the same party. I can find a number of half truths in the words of Obama. But, I cannot call him a liar.

Blackcloud is also using the term. The point is, if you don't like him, don't vote for him. Your rhetoric just keeps people out of your camp. i am a Viet Nam vet who works for a national organization. Your numbers are false. veterans of all wars and militaty experience are about 54% McCain and 46% Obama in those vets that have made a decision. However, 22% are undecided. You can't take info off partisan blogs and expects them to be true. Vets pretty much fall in line with others in their parties. Demo are about 8 pts bigger than GOP. Very few vets vote primarily becasue of veteran's affairs.

Please try to remember that we are broken becasue of both parites ,Neitehr tell the truth. And neither would carry out any promises. Obama is just as partisan and was brought up by his party to do his parties biddning . if they can kkep your dependent on them , it adds to their power.

Your gus sound like fourth graders.

McCain infuriates me when he goes on about how he loves us Veterans! If you do Sir, then please show it by voting for us! There needs to be concerted efforts to get people to understand the reality of how his support, or really lack thereof, is shown.

McCain voted with the political machine that is spending our soldiers lives badly. Blood for oil and similar policies need to end!

Are you kidding? McCain and his campaign have repeatedly lied. This whole stupidity about Ayers is ridiculous.

He lied when he said he was suspending his campaign. He didn't. His proxies were still on Cable news and his campaign ads still ran.

He lied when he said he would not debate if a deal wasn't worked out. He debated even though there was no deal.

He lied when he said he watches out for Veterans. He has voted against every major bill in the last 5 years that would have benefited us.

That is off the top of my head. I could do research and find more of his lies. There is always the Keating scandal to dig into. How about his marriage vows? I am sure that he vowed to not cheat on his wife with Cindy, but he did. That is lying.

Just look at his pick of Palin. She isn't a good government pick. She was picked purely for political reasons, to rally the GOP base. So, I guess he is lying when he says he always puts country first as well.

McCain is an intemperate hot head that cannot be trusted to put country first.

The GOP can stir up the right wing-nuts into a frenzy over abortion or Hillary. This campaign, all they have is just hate. No solutions - just hate. And they can't quite get it to stick to Obama. The media should show more excerpts of their rallies. It's what I imagine that Ku Klux Klan events must have looked like. It's pathetic to see the low to which McCain has stooped. He must be ashamed to look in the mirror. He was "Bush-whacked" during 2004 election by lies and now he's hired the same team that smeared him. We've seen "The End Justifies The Means" thinking before.

Can you imagine what a turmoil would result in Washington if the majority of voters were registered as Independents?

I'm a white, Independent, Marine Corps veteran who feels it is my patriotic duty to cast my vote for President Obama.

This whole Wall St. mess is because of failed polices, 90% of the time, he voted with George W.

and even though I don't think I should pay taxes on my benefit, neither do I think you can give someone $5000 for health care then tax that.

But be sure and tell me how McBush can let people in his crowd's say Kill him, Cut off his head, terriost and not say something like this is not the right thing to say if we win we will do it honorably.

And let Gidget sprew her hate at their rallies?

John seems to think win with lies, what ever it takes to get to be President ~ has never put Country first, or once cared about the middle class (hell he can't even say middle class)

Is he a bigot? Is that why he has no problem with the racist stuff going on at his rallies?

Given the hatred being promoted and the anger he shows during the debates one has to consider this a real possibility. McCain may be a bigot.

In order to sweep out "The Powers that Be" which control not only the GOP but the West Wing;

I must vote for Obama/Biden.

As a vet I must vote Obama/Biden too. McCain has in fact voted AGAINST many bills which veterans and their organizations favored. He has consistently, till recently, voted against any increase in veterans' benefits. And neither ticket has a better supporter of veterans and understanding of the military's role than Vice President Joe Biden. He's certainly got a better grasp than flyboy McCain who was very similar in his focus on service as the current POTUS except that McCain, at least, didn't request that he not be sent overseas. But he did cost us alot with all the aircraft he crashed [I think 5]. One of which was in Italy where he was doing his flyboy stunts and snagged a major power line sending the town into blackness.

I can't wait for my ballot to get here and cast it for President Obama. Then I won't feel the compulsion to read all these articles and watch every news broadcast.

Well McCain/Palin are right: Character is an issue in this campaign. That's why I will vote Obama/Biden.

1. He supports torture of POWs. Yes, he initially took a strong stand against President Bush, and I applauded him for that at the time. But, within a few days he gave in. This alone is sufficient for me to withdraw my prior support for him.

2. His idea of "supporting the troops" is to give them the materials to go to misguided wars, not to take care of them when they return home. This is evidenced by his continual subdued/non-existent support of veterans' initiatives.

3. He wouldn't take care of our veterans with the new G.I. Bill. He tried to sneak away by not being present to vote for it because he didn't support it -- just as President Bush didn't support it.

[Point proven here 40 years later as we move closer and McCain makes more visits]. So in that setting, what was McCain doing flying a fighter/bomber over downtown Hanoi?

A few months ago a Educational GI Bill came up for vote, Obama and others wanted to revise this bill after all it has been 25 years! They wanted to offer our troops a educational plan that would be more compatibatable for today.

McCain however felt that this revision would not be in the best interest of our military, he said in essence that it would benefit our troops too much by giving them more opportunities other than military service and they would get out of the military if they had other opportunities! Therefore he did not vote in favor of the bill, in fact he did not show up to vote one way or the other!

Now my concerns with this comment of Ex POW John McCain is this. I am very sure that you did not spend all those 22 years, especially those served before being in prison because of you lacked the money needed for college. I am also sure that your patriotism to our nation was not one forced upon you. So I question your thought process and judgement in suggesting that our men and women who are now serving or those that will serve in the future are any less patriotic than you! I question you to suggest that our brave men and women now serving or those that will are not as brave as you! I question your suggesting that our great nation must keep a foot on the backs of our brave patriot men and women now serving or those that will by keeping them underprivileged, uneducated and without any other hope of advancements in order for them to remain as committed and dedicated in service to their nation as you, the very same men and women that offer up their blood for this nation, the very same men and women that you were in agreement to sending into war, a war that most of them still don't fully understand the true necessary cause for at least one, Iraq! They fight for what drives them most, these very same brave patriots men and women fight for the very same reason you did THE LOVE OF THEIR COUNTRY!

So I ask you Senator McCain, what value do you place on the freely offered blood of our brave men and women?

I would hope that if you do by chance get elected to the office of President, as leader of these brave patriots men and women, that you would be more thoughtful of them by recognizing them as HEROS just as much as you enjoy your status as the same! I would hope that you recognize their service to our nation as due entitlement for advancement as much as you seem to believe it qualifies you to the advancement of Commander and Chief of these brave patriots men and women that now or will serve our great nation!

Thank you Senator Obama and ALL others that passed this bill, our service-members more than deserve it!

You have been caught supporting and being supported by destroyers of our voting system.

You have been caught supporting and being supported (and self admittedly mentored) by a Anti-American rascist.

You have been caught supporting and being supported by the Party that blocked regulations (Sentate Bill 190) of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac that have led to the current housing and financial market crises destroy so many families and our economy.

With no credibility Senator Obama, your political operatives posting notices on blogs have no credibility--heck you could not even remember the name of the solider's name on the wristband you were wearing (yes we all saw you having to turn it over to say the name).

Sir, your Hollywood style presentation (it is slick) to make us get lost in the drama and forget reality is not working with those who are so deeply concerned for our country. You have disgraced our soldiers with comments that they are air-raiding and killing families (ala Hollywood Jane Fonda) . Your statement that it is only a coincident that the surge of our soldiers in Iraq and the timing of increased stability.

You further your disgrace to our brave men and women by announcing you would yank them out of Iraq in defeat, saying they are not capable of achieving the increased stability that Iraq is in FACT what their efforts HAVE achieved.

You most certainly have no leadership experience in your entire adult lifetime that has required you to be held accountable. No Sir, Hollywood showtime is not going to allow Americans to get caught in your puppet show that is pulling your strings in their hatered of our Soldiers (Cindy Sheehan and the movie star set).

No Way No How Will we accept your disgraceful protral of our troops-- you talk out of both sides of your mouth and we know where your heart is. All we have to do is look to your judgement of who you are supported by and whom you support.

John McCain fed her names of military members with state of origin even other family names. John McCain the songbird in time of war. John McCain admits giving the information in his own book. Says he is sorry he absolutely right he is sorry.

On his return long after the war he he returned to North Vietnam and told the North Vietnamese he considered their country his as well. WOW strong statement for any normal POW but not the Admirals son.
