About David Botti

Newsweek
David Botti began blogging for Newsweek.com in October 2007.  Prior to this he worked as a desk assistant at The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS, and as an editorial intern at The Village Voice.  He is also currently a student at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Botti served for six years as a rifleman in the Marine Corps Reserve, including 17 months of mobilized active duty service.  He deployed for a five month tour in Iraq during the invasion of 2003.

He has written for The New York Times, The Village Voice, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, and Newsweek.com. His essay, "The War Within," published in The New York Times, was anthologized in "New York Stories: The Best of the City Section of the New York Times."

He earned a bachelors degree in government from Skidmore College in 2001, and lives in New York City.
