It’s prop day on the campaign trail. To coincide with Barack Obama’s energy speech this morning, the McCain campaign handed out tire gauges branded with the slogan “Obama’s Energy Plan” to reporters traveling with the senator today. (The Republican National Committee apparently will distribute others to reporters back in DC and at the Obama event today in Michigan.) The gauge is poking fun at Obama’s comment last Wednesday that Americans can save energy by “making sure your tires are properly inflated.” Nevermind that plenty of Republicans have offered up similar advice—prominent McCain surrogate Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, among them—the McCain campaign is pushing that message that Obama is so lacking in judgment that he thinks inflating the tires alone is the key to solving America’s energy problems. Merits of the debate aside, how did the GOP get these gauges engraved so fast?
Really is this all the McCain people can come up with? Making fun of a realistic idea. Anyone, who knows how cars work will tell you that you save sustantial fuel by having the right tire pressure. Obama said do and they McCain campaign spent umpteen dollars for such an infantile gimmick. Shameful. What bothers me about McCain is that he spends so much time tryiing to mock Obama and put him and his ideas down. What does he offer? Not much so far. Well Clinton mocked Obama all the time and see where we are today. I think this campaign from McCain's perspective is doing things the old and dirty way. More imaginatino please.
Tire gauges are not going to make a difference. Put a gauge on the real America....
Remember, this is the SAME nation that re-elected an unpopular George Bush only 3 1/2 years ago during an unpopular war. Also remember that John Kerry led Bush 51%-44% in July....and he lost. - And guess what folks. It is now at only 46%-44%....the Obama Fever Gap is wearing off fast.
Translation? - John McCain will win this election.
Great! This is a gimmick of course and it's important to consider who it's aimed at! It's not the electorate!
McCain is poking fun at the news people , many of whom accept Obamas gimmicks at face value! Maybe those Libs can use some fresh air. It's not about the gas price but the hot air the Liberal News Media blows when a simple check should tell them... something aint right! But off they go into Liberal Lunacy Land anyway!
Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
