She shouldn't have said this, although just for the record: the latest polls in Iowa all have her winning (look at the last three in the RCP list), even if by statistically irrelevant margins. She's also regaining momentum in New Hampshire, and nationally she's destroying Obama. It's not even close. Obama needs to go beyond the politics of hope if he wants to win the nomination. The politics of "I'm not a total pansy" would suit him well, perhaps....

I was initially open-minded. Now I definitely will not vote for Hillary because her use of dirty and dishonest tactics to not only discredit but almost destroy her opponents.

She is just too ugly for me.

She really thinks we voters are that stupid that we cannot differentiate between facts and rumors?

Hillary should prove to us that she deserves to be the nominee, but spreading rumors, distorting facts, using surrogates to attack opponent won't work.

Do we really want this power-hungry and winning-at-any-cost candidate to be our president?

The more Clinton tries to push it with this experience thing, the more people will laugh when (if?) she is nominated and runs against the Republican candidate. They all have a hell of a lot more experience than her. I'd like someone to ask her "If experience is so important, why should voters chose you instead of Joe Biden?"

NIce try, but, Personal appeal + inexperience = Bush is not the full story.

Personal appeal + inexperience + a lack of intellectual curiosity + a lack of want or ability to understand any other point of view = Bush is closer.

Some argued that Bill Clinton was inexperienced. We've been reminded of this in the media over the past few days. He had personal appeal as well, but again that was not the full story. Even those who disagreed with Bill (or dispised him) could not deny his intellect. Sound familiar.

The biggest difficulty for Hillary is while she is running (at least partly) based on "ability by association (with Bill)", the closest candidate to the combination of personal appeal + intellect to Bill Clinton circa '92 is Barack Obama, who has the added advantage of coming without the scorned women left in his wake.

Now this is not to say that Hillary isn't able, it's simply pointing out that featured prominently on her list of qualifications is having been First Lady. Bill Clinton '92 was a self-made-man, Barack Obama '08 is as well. It's hard to say Hillary is a self-made woman.

GWB would have had no chance if GHWB had not come before him and set the stage with friends in high places and name recognition. Would it be unfair to compare Hillary to GWB in this sense?

Maybe, but where would she be if Bill had not won in '92?

Seriously though, this is beyond bizarre for her to claim Barack Obama is the Bush-like candidate. Hello, Hillary! It was your husband saying you were going to send the first George Bush around the world to represent America. Hello, Hillary! It was you who voted for Bush's war. Hello, Hillary! It's you who wants voters to mistake proximity to power and a familiar name for experience and cast a vote for you based on someone else's accomplishments.

Clinton is absolutely the Bush candidate in this race by far and I will vote for anyone over her.

Well, Hillary got a bit tuff with these comments, but they are right on! Miss Hillary has regained the lead in Iowa, regained a bigger lead in NH, and is smashing everyone nationally. If the girl wins Iowa, its over. If not, well... she will have to wait a little longer to put this thing away.

I believe Hillary had the where with to stand up to George Bush and prevent the war in Iraq. She was probably the only person who could have called her enormous political machine into action and really challenged the Bush and Cheney war mongering and stopped it in its track. Was it risky? Sure, but that is true leadership! Had she done that the presidency would have been hers for the asking starting in 2004. However, she chose to follow, even when people like Ambassador Wilson, with very little political resources stepped up to the plate at great risk and consequences to their families.

Now Hillary is telling us that she is a true leader, and has plenty of experience and we should elect her to office. My question is, with this enormous political machine that she has at her disposal, what did she do to sand up against the greatest political blunder of our history? “With great power comes great responsibility”, and Hillary’s moment for leadership has come and gone.

If you wonder what the Obama phenomenon is, it is simply the vacuum for true leadership that is sucking him to the forefront. He is the only one of the candidates, who is sufficiently open, that is allowing the enormous desire of our people to change course express itself. As long as he remains this way, he will be unstoppable and he will do great things.

After reading this, i ended up finding it slightly amusing how the media keeps playing on how Clinton is such a strong candidate, but everything that we ever hear about her is how she is trying to publicly humiliate other runners. And in the end, just hurting her own standings. you would think her own advisors would do their job and tell her to refrain from personal judgments.

The reason Bush got elected is not that people wanted to have beer with him. They wanted to vote against Clintons. Even though Gore wanted to distance himself from Clinton (and doing mistake by choosing an idiot like Liberman as runningmate), people voted against Clinton's ghost. If democrats choose Hillary as candidate, they will open up a pandora's box. Trust me, Republicans won't be maintaining a high standard like Obama. They will pull out every dirty trick from the closet including the stained underwears.

Speaking as a Democrat, I don't think there's anyone seeking the party's nomination who has more in common with President Bush than Hillary Clinton. Both are running based solely on family relationships; and more importantly, they are both products of the same school of politics, as evidenced by her down-and-dirty attacks of late. They both seek power at any cost. The one thing that has most characterized the Bush administration has been that absolutely everything has been driven by politics--the politics of staying in power. It would be exactly the same under Clinton.

I'd also like to correct an earlier statement in someone's comment that only old-school women's rights advocates are supporting Hillary. In fact, feminists are more strongly supporting Obama. That's because a real feminist knows that electing Hillary would only reinforce the archaic perception that a woman can only achieve power through her husband, it wouldn't challenge it.

Here's Obama for you:

-said he’d meet with foreign leaders without preconditions or preparation, then backtracked when told that that is stupiid.

-said he doesn’t accept money from lobbyists - he does! holier than thou, you said?

- said his health care plan is universal - he leaves 15 MM out in fact

-said ban all toys from China, then took it back. shows you how much he knows about safety OR economics

-recently said 527s aren’t required to disclose while criticizing Edwards- wrong. disclosure is a legal requirement.

THAT IS PROOF HE IS A LIGHTWEIGHT. NICE BUT IGNORRANT.
