I really Mike Huckabee. I am disappointed that the media only hounds on his evangelical background--it is hard to get them to talk about where he actually stands on the issues. But, he seems to get his message out there and he is a great speaker. I love all of his ideas. We get him in and then some more Republicans in the house and we can make changes in America....

Well, if God is for him, who can be against him? Let's hope He is! This country cannot afford another Democrat in public office, they've stalemated Congress. Hillary is dangerous and will spend all her time chasing her old man out of the White House bedrooms. Obama doesn't have a clue what he wants to change, except perhaps, his mind. Romney reeks of money and with expensive haircuts for himself, how do you think he will spend our taxpayer dollars? Guilliani is full of himself. I say it is time we got someone with religion back in the White House. Maybe we can get some respect back for our faltering nation in the eyes of our international peers. I would welcome a Fair Tax and someone who prays!

Huckabee, with his creationist belief that the earth is 6,000 years old, will put science education back decades if not 100s of years. International respect for the US will fall even more than it has under Bush.

Huckabee has never stated the earth is only 6000 years old. There are many scientists who do not buy the standard evolution dogma. Huckabee simply says that God created everything, how He did it exactly, no one knows. As a PhD scientist, I know that there are many scientists who don't buy into evolution, but they keep quiet, because of ignorant people like you musquash who got their science education by watching the nightly news. Hucakbee is without a doubt the most principles and intelligent candidate.

WWJD? Abolish a progressive tax based on income? Or perhaps ask those who have the most to give to the most? I don't think Huckabee's views are truly in line with the work of God. They sound more in line with the gods of capitalism.

Abolish a tax that is based on income... do you understand the abuses that are commited by the people that make the most money so they pay a much smaller tax burden? The abolishment of this "institution" plans to solve all of th US's existing money issues while evenly and fairly distributing the tax burden to those folks who CHOOSE to purchase new goods.... Read up..

Huck is probably the single candidate with the most honesty and priciples.

HUCKABEE FLIPS ON IMMIGRATION

If immigration is important to you as it is to me, listen to what Mike Huckabee said before it became a hot button issue. I don't mind him changing his position (well kinda - shows a lack of integrity), but it's pretending that he never took that position which disappoints. Say it ain't so, check the citing below. That won't fly in SC.

Huckabee's Democratic state re-elacted him because he's as liberal as most Democrats when it comes to many things-- taxes. He accuses other candidates of telling half-truths and distorting his record when he does just that for himself. He has made so many slips, is so FAR from distinguished. Can you actually picture him being the Leader of the free world and meeting with other Foreign Leaders? He's a goof. His campaign against Romney in Iowa was coniving. He is slick with all of his stunts and the holier-than-thou/ casual approach. He doesn't talk about what he is going to do in Washington, just insults other people, whines, and brags about himself-- but with 'half-truths' rather than anything substantive. People keep saying Romney is the most negative campaigner and in all of the debates he is being attacked from all sides (and has the decency to keep it on the issues), Huckabee started Iowa with snide comments about religion, personal attacks, no pointing to Romney's record-- it was calculated and personal from the beginning. How can Huck be such a devout Southern Baptist and not ideologically HATE Romney? It's common knowledge that sect thinks Mormons are evil and all going to Hell. Huckster is a liar. And to profess such Christian morals and parade around and pull the charades he does is disgusting. Shame on all you NH voters who voted for him just because he won Iowa-- have you really researched him?

Huckabee is a televangelist just exactly like Jim Baker and big backer Kennith Copland. These folks are under indictment for fraud or been imprisoned. There is nothing more despicable than using these scams artist to as "money faith". The man is corrupt and evil look at his ethics, inability to el the truth. Can you imagine his dead bird comment by by anyone but a complete idiot? The man is a smooth talker but his Mormon devil comment is offensive to people who practice religion not use it to extort money from people. I don,t know what is in the water in Hope AK but it really turns me off. At least Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar. This guy lies on everything including his resume.. I mean we expect politicians to promote themselves but to break the first commandment as well as piss on the first amendment is rather repulsive. For all the people who are making money off the government social programs only and not contributing to the economy really, where in the bible does it say that the ones who makes the most must give the most to government. Here is a clue: NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT. All people whether rich or poor will find loop holes in the current system to ensure they get what they feel they deserve to keep within the current tax laws. It is time to repeal what has not worked for many, many years. There are so many ways we are getting taxed while we are alive and then there is a death tax when we die. It is the overspeeding of government that is the problem. I as many others vote their pocket because without it we could not live in this society. If you don't believe that, Try to get a loaf of bread with an IOU slip...it is amazing the stores only accept cash, check or credit card. Get an understanding that Huckabee is on the right path to make it fair for all with the Fair tax. Poor will not pay tax at all...what a deal...maybe you all should rethink this through. Huckabee has the most forward looking plan I see between all the other hopefuls.

The Bible does not say he who makes the most should give the most to government, it says he who is given much, much is expected of him. In other words, don't let your riches sit buried in the ground, use your talents & resources to build a better world; prosperity is not evil. Greed, the love of money is evil, not money itself. Taxing spending rather than income would be the fairest way to finance government. The present system is full of tax exemptions for the rich, who have the funds available to take advantage of them, and end up paying way less than their fair share. How many working class families can afford solar heating systems and million dollar mortgages?

Christians are not the enemy. Their religion does not promote Hate for people of any other religion. Their theology promotes the love of Christ for ALL people. To state that Southern Baptists hate all Mormons and consider them evil shows total ignorance of their beliefs. Christians (including Baptists) are taught to "love your neighbor" and forgive all offenses, just as Jesus modeled. Hate and grudges and racism have no place in biblical teaching. Jesus chastised those who looked down on others, even enemies. He asked forgiveness for his persecutors. Yes, Christians believe accepting Christ is the only way to Heaven, but it is their right to believe whatever they choose, according to the Constitution. Just as it is the Mormon's right to believe they are the only ones allowed in Heaven, and just as it is the atheist's right to believe there is no Heaven. Nobody has the right to prevent me from worshipping the God of my choice, and a candidate's religion should have no bearing on his fitness for office. It is only his sense of right and wrong, and fair play, that will hopefully influence the decisions he makes in office and make our country a better place to live. Would you rather have someone who values life, freedom, and family (with a higher power guiding him to care for others), making the important decisions for our future, or someone with nobody to answer to for his choices but himself?

It seems that most people who try to tell us Christians what the bible says , obviously never read it. To be Christian is to attempt to be Christ-like, not be Christ. We are human but we have that goal. Science is based on theory. Theory is a guess at best. We're taught since childhood that science is fact. Darwin denounced his theory of evolution before his death, and died a Christian. He had the bible read to him daily on his death bed. THe story of his life and the birth of his ludicrous theory is an interesting read. Not many read fact anymore, they just believe anything the media feeds them. Go Huck.

I am more vocal during this election time than I have ever been. There is so much on the line in our country. I am from a small community in the middle of the state of MO, but I want to contribute however I can. If that means that I write a message and request that it be printed for others to view, or contact friends via email and request them to pass along my opinions (if they agree and so choose), I am going to do my part this election. Will you?

I don’t mean to encroach on anyone’s favored party “feelings”, or necessarily try to sway anyone. However, if you are undecided on a candidate and share my conservative views, I have added an excerpt from an article on the internet about Mr. Mike Huckabee below. There will be those who read this that will no doubt be very excited to hear that someone is taking such a stance. Still others, who claim to be republicans, but don’t go so far as to claim to be conservative, may feel that Mike Huckabee is “too far right” to truly lead our country. My “personal” feeling about that is this: I am 100% in favor of someone who has the guts to make statements such as those you will see in the excerpt.

If I have offended anyone (I’m not sorry). I believe that our country is too concerned about hurting a few people’s feelings. I think that it is time that people who say they stand firm in the Christian faith “PROVE IT!” I don’t want to throw my vote to someone who will half- heartedly promote Christian values… Not when there seems to be someone who will whole- heartedly do so. If Huckabee weren’t running, would I still vote GOP (yes), there’s no question. I put more value in a human life than I ever will on any tree on this earth (I am sure that statement would send Mr. Gore out crying, but again, I don’t care…He’s let us see him cry before). I put more value in a marriage (a marriage that shouldn’t even have to be called “traditional”), or civil union, or whatever grotesque grouping of words that liberals would like to throw our way, than I do in allowing our nations streets to be filled with disgusting portrayals of sick individuals being able to express their “individuality” in front of us and our children. I am not a very old person, only nearing 30. However, I know that I was at least nearing teenage years before I understood what homosexuality was and I didn’t hear the word abortion early in my life either. I now have a first and a fourth grader, both of which know what homosexuality and abortion are and a three year old who, unfortunately will know all too soon. Our “educational system” has proven to sway with the liberal media; and what the liberal media portrays is what the uninformed public receives. Values Voters have let their guards down for far too long. We all know that prayer was taken out of our schools. The teachers themselves are not responsible for this, the unheard voice of Values Voters are responsible for this. Punishment in school is no longer a simple act to keep children in line and we are seeing the ill effects of this increasing by the year. Our country is stuck in an illusion that “we can make everyone happy”. I am sorry to inform you, but we can’t make everyone happy. I have never had the “right” as a parent to allow my children to watch any television unsupervised. Why? Because even the cartoons are filthy, much less prime time shows. Have violence, illicit sex, drugs and profanity of all sorts been a part of this country for many years? Yes, they all have. However, these have all increased dramatically due to the multi media forms in which it is broadly and indiscreetly broadcasted by. I am personally highly disappointed in the “Values Voters” who continue to complain about the immoral shape that our country is in, yet refuse to cast their vote because they feel that they are not heard. I guarantee you that if you don’t vote, you are not heard. By the same token, if you do vote, at a bare minimum you’ve tried. Whether your party (be it Democrat, Republican, or Independent) wins, you did your part as a member of this society and you did try.
