Just like the IBM protocol (HILLARY), big blue thought they had it all. They were the best, biggest and the baddest. They never anticipated the "unknown upstart of Mr. Jobs -Apple/MAC. They let their ICU platform out in the public domain and now APPLE, who didn't, has had more shown more insight energy and "likeability" has surpassed and out played them "PC's" in every aspect, PC's are the old way of doing things and (OBAMA) - APPLE - (remember the IPOD) is taking the culture and the market places PC ever thought about going.

...There's a problem with the latino vote there altatran - It's young. The average is like 25. Plus, most of the districts where latinos live are weighted low because of poor turnout in '04. The more heavily weighted precincts look more likely to break for Obama. Plus the guy has got the mo.

Why isn't anyone questioning the ethics of Bill Clinton's position? He is coming out and telling everyone that as an ex-president he knows Obama is not qualified, however his wife is more than qualified. This is highly un-ethical, he is abusing his former position. Meanwhile Hillary is telling everyone if she is elected she will have Bill do this (pick your topic). Isn't that Nepotism? He obviously isn't interested in a government position if McCain wins or Obama but if you elect his wife he will work for the White House. These people want to question Obama over a sentance or two in a speech and look at what they are doing. I guess they (the Clintons) own the media, no one ever mentions any of this.

Sen. Clinton is not going to win this nomination. She lost her chance to win it when she failed and refused to compete in the previous 11 contests. After Super Tuesday, Hillary Clinton just stopped campaigning.

Then to add foolishness to her arrogance, Hillary Clinton showed that she will not be a president of all the people by saying that the states and contests Sen. Obama won were not important and would not matter in the general election. She pissed off not only the voters in those states but also most Americans.

Statistically, she cannot accomplish such an unbelievable feat as to win by 20% to 30% across every remaining this nomination contest. Hillary Clinton only has herself and her elitist mindset to blame for her own failures. Is this what happened when she tried to deliver healthcare but failed then too?

What's your definition of "little kids"? Is it the 18 year olds? It has to be because that's the youngest age you can vote. Last time I checked that's the age the law says you become an adult and are allowed to vote. So because they are not turning toward your candidate(Hillary) in droves they are making the wrong choice? Why not just go make your vote and stop trying to criticize ADULTS who do not agree with your candidate. Would you say something about them in this blog if they were choosing your candidate? So let the voters choose who they want and stop critizing.

Bottom Line; I am an Obama supporter. Caution; Hillary doesn't lose the nomination until Barack Obama wins it! Keep concentrating on winning. Anything short of that will not get Barack the nomination! These are 2 hard fighting long term candidates. Barack Obama needs to win 3 out of the 4 primaries on March 4th. Also, front runners have it tougher and rightfully so. People want to be sure and confident that the candidate they think is right for the job is truely questioned and examined in all areas. Obama will stand up to the scrutiny as well or better than any candidate out there.

Barak Obama is a man of few words, that are his that is. He uses words of others to promote himself, which just goes to show he is not a man of substance.

He says that words don't really matter. Then why should we believe anything he says, doesn't he have to use words to make promises?

Obama has not passed one notable piece of legislature in his entire political career. He has dodged voting on anything that wasn't popular with those he might use later to promote his political career.

Obama is not a man to be trusted with the defense of our country. He will weaken our military and leadership is something he knows nothing about.

Obama's own wife said she was ashamed of our country until her husband was accepted as a candidate...being black is not a qualification for president...it is merely something to be used to entice the black vote, especially those who know nothing about politics or the responsiblities of our leaders. All they care about is electing the "first" black president...Obama is not "BLACK" he is HALF African, half American...in Texas we call that a half-breed...but that wouldn't and isn't considered "politically correct"...I am a mixture of Irish, Scottish, and English, I have no problem claiming my heritages...and I probably have some black in there too, which I also would not be ashamed of. I judge a man by his actions, not by his color....Vote Democrat or Republican...but don't vote for Barak Obama...

This is just unbelievable. I'm listening to MSNBC while reading this Newsweek article, and its just disgusting how the whole of the media has come together in one voice to canonzie Obama, and literally destroy Hillary for daring to run for President. I'm completely disgusted and its actually become laughable how skewed the coverage is. Even the vocabulary used to describe each campaign is distorted. Everything Hillary does is a "move" "strategic" "spin" "attack", and everything Obama does is a "movement", he is a "rock star", there is "groundswell".

I DON'T BUY IT media.

The dirty little secret here is that it is completely unacceptable to be openly racist in this country, as it should be, but quite ok to make SEXIST comments and judgments about Hillary that a male candidate including Obama would never be subject to.

I will NEVER vote for a man who has done cocaine, pot, underage drinking, and perhaps even crack while he was in the State Senate, has only been Senator for 1 term, claims to be from an impoverished background but was actually raised by his VERY wealthy grandparents while attending private schools in Hawaii, hasn't really accomplished anything in the Senate, admits he doesn't like his "staff" to "show" him any "papers" until the last minute (great work ethic), and just goes around giving empty speeches that don't really say anything about anything. I’ve also heard from several people who have been to his “concerts” that once the cameras are off, he is noticeably standoffish and extremely arrogant.

Also, as a lifelong democrat but also a patriot, I'll be damned if I'll vote for someone who's big-mouthed grating wife says she has NEVER been proud of this country until people started voting for her husband. That would be a great first lady.

I just can't believe that so many people are drinking the Obama KoolAid.

What have we been waiting for these past eight years? To get rid of Dub-ya and his Republican cronies and put a Democrat in office. All the "charisma", youth, inexperience, attitude, zeal, preaching style, and pep rallying just do not cut it with those of us who expect intelligence, integrity, experience, diligence, appeal, acumen and wisdom to be part of the presidency. No, we "old folks" are just not ready to relinquish the presidency to some junior senator who has made it clear with half-truths and omissions that he is entitled to the nomination, and we are unmoved by the whirlwind that surrounds his campaign. We say, sadly, "Sorry, not this time". We have in Hillary Clinton a phenomenal candidate possessing every fine quality that could be imagined in a presidential contender, but the Obama camp would like to simply throw away what she and the Democratic Party have worked years to achieve.

The writing's on the wall. The finest candidate that I have ever witnessed (in my meager lifetime!) is going down fast. We have given in to the Obama frenzy, and that's that. Who cares what Michelle Obama says about her country! Who cares if Bill Clinton was "the first black president" and now is called a racist! Who cares if the press interrupted Hillary's brief speech--in mid-sentence--to put on Obama's full 48 minute speech, including his thanking of every local official!

People call us Hillary supporters "sour grapes" and sore losers. I say we are loyal supporters who truly believe in our candidate, and know full well the potential disaster that awaits our country with Obama. He will surely fall from his pedestal, as nobody can meet the expectations he has "almost" promised, and the descent will be devastating. Worse, though, is that history teaches us that all great civilizations have fallen (think Roman Empire and ancient Greece) and look at the decline of the U.S. We were heading downward, G. W. Bush hastened the fall, and Obama should be able to put the nail in the coffin. These aren't my original ideas! The writing's on the wall.

Obama needs to go on prime time TV and tell the actual facts of the story he "sort of" made up during the debate. And set the record straight as to the time, place and all the intimate details. Wow, he ALMOST fabricated this story. Once you hear the REAL story, the whole point of the story changes.

I think it was an act of despiration. And he will "Micro Manage" every detail of the military. This is an entire country, international relations job and he is going to micro manage every detail. He is naive!!!

Hillary is so condescending when she saya that she has close connections to the Latino community becasuse she learned to eat Mexican food and volunteered there for McGovern 40 years ago. The fact is she never learned to speak a speck of Spanish. The fact is, however, that when Bill Clinton, presumably with Hillary's input, had 2 Latinos, one a Mexican-American and another a Puerto Rican-American (Judge Jose Cabranes of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals) among the 3 finalists, he chose Steven Breyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I for one am tired of hearing of Hillary's "35 years of experience". 35 years of experience of doing what??? The only experience in government that she can cite is spending a short time as a carpetbagging senator from New York with a nothing record of accomplishment. Oh, yes, there was her abortive attempt at health care reform under Bill's administration. And about all she can cite is that she spent 8 years in the White House closely observing it's workings. I am a 20 year old, college educated person who supports Hillary Clinton and darn proud of it! I will not stop supporting her until I see Obama officially get the nomination because this race is far from over and many states have yet to hold their caucuses. Clinton is the better qualified candidate and Obama needs more experience. If Obama were to stay in the senate and run again for the 2012 election, I would consider voting for him then.

It was interesting to hear the commentators following last night's debate. There was a discussion regarding Hillary's qualifications and how she has everything that a male counterpart would need to become president. They were supposedly dumbfounded as to what "it" factor was missing that has allowed Obama to gain control of the momentum. Not one commentator mentioned that it could be a gender issue.

Look at the facts, Clinton has dedicated her life to public service. She has a strong record of accomplishments including reforming the education system in Arkansas, advocating for children’s' health care resulting in more than 6 million children getting health insurance coverage, improving health care for veterans, working to improve the lives of less fortunate Americans, and promoting women’s rights in the world community. Any man with her qualifications would have already wrapped up the nomination. It is sad commentary that voters riding the wave of media momentum are willing to elect an African American man with very limited experience at the Federal level of Gov't but will not consider electing a female candidate that possesses a much stronger grasp of the issues, solutions for those issues, and the experience to know how to produce results. It doesn’t make sense. There is clearly sexism in this race.

My hope is that Texas' voters will take an honest look at both candidates and what they bring to the table. If they do, I am confident that they will overcome the gender bias that is permeating this nomination process and join their southwestern neighbors of New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California and vote for the most qualified candidate, which is Hillary Clinton.

Responding to PASBAIR's comment about sexism in how Hillary's experience is being considered: The fact is that she attempts to belittle Obama's meaningful experience as a community organizer and then a State Senator before becoming a US Senator, but the fact is that she relies on her position as First Lady for 8 years - a position with only ssocial duties associated it. It is obvious to many voters out there that when Hillary's experience as an ELECTED public official is compared to Barack, she has 4 more years as a US Senator, but less when you compare their overall experience as ELECTED public officials.

If that were true, Joe Biden or Bill Richardson, who have vastly more experience than Hillary, would be in the lead. Just like when she carpetbagged into NY to get the Democratic nomination for Senate in 2000, she catapulted to the front in 2007 because of her fame, the inspiration that her candidacy is to women and the lack of name recognition among the other candidates at the time. The fact is that Obama leads because he's inspired the voters in this campaign. Of course, Hillary's earlier background as a non-public official is to be respected, let's not demean the value of community service by someone who had been the first Black editor-in-chief of the Harvard Law Review, who then went into the State Senate before becoming a US Senator.

The "momentum" ithis BIG MONEY has purchased is what came up with the PR-SLOGANS and MARKETING you are seeing for Obamessiah. PR and MARKETING is the new American Religious Movement -- meaning that Americans are swayed by MARKETING in the same way they used to be swayed by preachers at the pulpit. These same people running Obamessiah's MARKETING campaign are the corporations and CEOs who own the Press. They need to prevent Clinton from gaining office and raising taxes on them and initiating legislation that will cut into their fortunes.

Not all first ladies have stuck to fulfilling only "social duties." Look at Eleanor Roosevelt and look at Hillary Clinton, she was very active during her husband's 8 years as president. She served as chairwoman for the Task Force on National Health Care and proposed the Clinton Health Care Plan in 1994. She also help get the State Children's Health Insurance Program established in 1997 and the Adoption and Safe Families Act. Might I add, that she has visited 79 countries, including China and Afghanistan, speaking on women's rights. That is an awful lot of mileage to fulfill only "social duties."

I am African American, and I can say that I have not been proud of my country for a very long time. This country was built on our backs, our blood and our sweat and did we get so much as an apology for the atrocities we've endured. You hear talk of the holacaust, of the stealing of this country from Native Americans and Mexicans. How often do you hear about slavery these days, and how we helped to build every piece of this nation without so much as an honest days wage? How many casinos or sovereign land grants do we as oppressed people have? Am I looking for a handout? No, but I want my country to settle the score, the destruction it's inflicted on my community for hundreds of years. 40 acres and a mule? We dont even know where we come from, our heritage or anything about our ancestors before being brought here for forced labor. You say you are Irish and whatever else. I couldnt know what I am, because your ancestors striped that from mine. I have no identity because i dont know where i came from. It's a truth that vexes every black man, and woman that are old enough to realize what has truly been stripped from us. And what do we get when talk like this comes up? Get over, it was so long ago. When you hear a holacaust survivor recant the horrors they endured, does that come to mind? Get over it?

African Americans realized exactly what Michelle was saying. African American history is about suffering, sure enough. Suffering at the hands of others, fellow Americans. I am a Former Marine and I fought and would have died for this country. I love my family and to me, my family is my country. But there are still people in this country who would see me as less than a person. Who would see me and my children killed because of the color of our skin. I have worked hard to get where I am, yet I see preference shown to the mexican population. I just dont understand why our country has forsaken us, but Barack Obama's mainstream accepatance has given me hope for my childrens future. I am for once in my life, and I think I can speak for any of the people who made it through the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s, when certain trivial actions by blacks could lose you your life and that of your familys, that we finally have something to really be proud about. Many Obama supporters on here claim that hey have been disenfranchised until now. The only people who can make that claim would have to be 21 or younger. Four years ago voters chose overwhelmingly to continue the wars and protect National Security. Suddenly that's all forgotten and Domestic Policy is all anyone can prate about. National Security is still around people. it didn't cease to become an issue just because a black man decided to run for office. and not just any office. The President, no matter who he/she is, willnot introduce sweeping changes to domestic policy. he doesn't have that kind of power. what he does possess is the power to start or stop a war.. Senator Obama has zero foreign policy experience and is on record saying that he would consider bombing a sovereign superpower. All of you disenfranchised left out children need to consider this... Be careful what you ask for. You say you want change? If that change involves nuclear war on these shores, will you still want it? You say you are for a new direction, Adirection to exactly where? You live in the most entitled nation on earth. Among humans you are part of the elite. the only direction for our society to travel is down or laterally. Bill Clinton gave Bill Richardson (who is Latino, by the way) the position of UN Ambassador and, more importantly, appointed him as Energy Secretary. And, then Bill also appointed Henry Cisernos as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)....in fact, this may have preceded Bill Richardson's appointment.

So, us Hispanics know who is looking after our interests. We don't trust an African American President to represent our community especially when we are viewed as the "lesser" or "immigrant" minorities who compete with Blacks in the inner cities for jobs. Viva Hillary! Adieus Obama!!!

I am about finished reading these blogs, because for all but the real kool-aid drinkers - (the ones who ignore the math and still think there is any chance whatsoever that Hillary Clinton could end up with the nomination) - this race is over. The facts are these: The Democrats were extremely lucky this time, finally, to have two very good candidates. The positions of both the candidates are very much the same. Either one of them would be wonderful after the agonizing years of Bush. When you have two candidates that are both great on the issues, and are both smart, and both care very much about the people of the country, it is a win-win situation. What happened to Hillary Clinton was simply that she was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Any other time and place she would have won. She just had the bad luck to run against an amazing, inspirational, charismatic politicians of the type that only comes around every 50 years or so...the last one being JFK. When one candidate is outstanding in these characteristics, and the other is not, and all other things are equal, of course the amazing, inspirational, and charismatic one wins.

People have these silly notions that they're voting for Hillary R. Clinton, when they're not. All they are doing is voting for Bill Clinton to become President again and the last time I checked Amendement 22 limits the US President to only two term. Another thing that bugs me out is when they say they are voting for someone (Hillary) who claims to has years of experience and Obama has no experience. She also keeps putting her foot in her mouth and incriminating herself by saying it's the same old politics. Yes, she's right because she and her husband are the ring leaders of this "same old politics" like the fact that she's limiting herself and neglecting states implying that they are of no signifigance to her campaign and are expendible and that's pretty much how Bush neglected Louisiana and the victims of Katrina. With more time on his hands, will we have to worry about Bill philandering again with the white house interns? Remember "slick willy"? We're so busy debating about one alleged affair by McCain, have we forgotten the long list of women who had documented affairs with Clinton who came out of the woodwork when he was running for office? He took advantage of position as bothGovernor and later as President to help conceal these affairs. Keep our white house interns safe!!

When considering experience, consider this....am I qualified for a sales position just because my husband has been a salesman? What makes Hillary any more experienced? We tried this "all-in-the-family" approach with George W and look where we are now! There are term limits for a reason and Bill has had his 8 years.

We need fresh new ideas in the White House. At this point, having no experience would be more acceptable to the dirty Washington politics we would surely see with Hillbill in the White House. We need someone who isn't seething with anger and entitlement (Hillary you should really watch your facial expressions, they really give you away!)

Hillary will say anything to get a vote. Watch her face and the feelings you feel, the next time she shares a story about "poor single mothers" or the "injured soldiers she's met". She doesn't relay any genuine feelings; it feels manipulative and contrived.

And, for all her finger pointing regarding plagarism, she has "borrowed" numerous expressions and quotes from Bill, Edwards, and even Obama. Funny, just like like her husband, the rules don't apply to her. In fact, don't forget that when the Democratic party decided they would not campaign in Florida for example, Hillary went there anyway and campaigned (Obama and Edwards both followed the party rules!) Now she's stamping her feet because she wants the votes counted. REMEMBER THE RULES that the rest of us follow, DO NOT APPLY TO THE CLINTONS!

It's time for a non-confrontational approach to mend our relationships with other countries. Around the world we are despised. We have to try something new. Our current way is arrogant and HAS NOT PROVEN TO BE EFFECTIVE! VOTE FOR CHANGE...VOTE FOR OBAMA! Your Obama drum beat is starting to get embarassing. I am a white voter and one of those that has already (along with my wife) has showed up at the early polling place and voted. We have the only female hispanic sheriff in the nation ,who is being contested in the primary by a couple of white guys. We will have a historic hispanic turnout in Dallas County. The hispanic community is 37.7% of the County's population. Plus the most prominent and powerfull black leader , Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price has endorsed Hillary Clinton and has put his polical network to on her behalf. Obama will still carry the black vote, but it will not be by 80 to 90%.

I for one had waited this out for a while before making my choice of which candidate I would support. I actually thought very highly of Edwards but when it became apparent that he wouldn't have a chance I had to start looking at Obama or Clinton. I liked that Obama was kind of "new blood" and seemed fresh and was speaking of things like hope, something I have felt like we haven't had a lot of reason for in recent years. I went to see Hillary speak and liked a lot of what she had to say. She had great ideas and plans, and I liked that. I read up on Obama and found that he has a very similar agenda. The thing that turned me finally was watching over the past couple of weeks as Clinton has turned on the smear campaign against Obama. Dirty politics. One of the reasons I have been so turned off by the process over the years. I have voted in every election since graduating high school 18 years ago, but have progressively learned to despise the system. The actions of the Clinton campaign essentially ruined every good thing I had learned about her from seeing her speak. I was disappointed and have decided to stand up for Obama to the point that I have volunteered to be a delegate at our State convention. I suspect that her campaign’s turn into trying to drag Obama’s name down with every little scrap they can get their hands on might have something to do with why she is losing ground, as a lot of other undecided voters are being turned off like me.

People on here accuse Obama of a lack of substance, and I will agree that a lot of his speeches are vague, and don't really speak a lot about his plans and ideas. But if you take the time to look up information on Obama's platform, you can see plainly that he has ideas. Perhaps the strategy here is to save the war of ideas until it is Republican vs. Democrat. I don't know. The substance is there, he has just chosen to wage this fight based on idealism and hope, which last time I checked were two things that we have needed desperately for a long, long time.

Which brings me to the point about Michelle Obama's statement about pride in her country. Other than the fact that I am betting that it was more a case of "open mouth insert foot," a poor choice of words, I think there is a semblance of a point to what she said. For a lot of us, over the past 8 years especially, we have lost a lot of pride in, at least, the actions of our country. I live in a city where a large population of African refugees have migrated, and the open racism here is sickening. As Americans, there are a lot of people in this country who have ZERO respect for people from other parts of the world. The Bush Presidency has only made this view of our country worse throughout the world. As far as election politics are concerned, we watched 4 years ago as the Democratic candidate was torn apart with every form of dirty tactic. Eight years ago it was the same, and that time many people feel, the Presidency was stolen. Never mind the service of these candidates to their country, the other party just smeared their names in order to win. The economy stinks to high heaven, and poor people are only getting poorer. Frankly, there hasn't been a whole lot to be "proud" of. So people now are looking past the issue of experience, and are embracing someone who has essentially waged, thus far, a clean campaign. And for the first time in a long time, I am proud too. I don’t think she meant what she said, the way she said it, but if she did, I can see some point to it.

On the subject of experience, I will say this- sometimes experience amounts to more time to become jaded and corrupt. I am not saying that Hillary is either of these things, although her recent actions on the campaign trail leave me wondering. But I think the way that the system is set up, the more experience you have, the more likely you have become beholden to special interests and more in tune to what is going on in the world of Washington, and not the real world. I will take fewer years of experience in order to feel that I am getting someone in office who has at least some clue what is going on in the world I live in.

Lastly, every person on here, or anywhere else, that points out Obama's middle name and accuse him of being a closet Muslim extremist who is trying to get into office to deceive us and somehow destroy our country, are the worst kind of racists. That talk is ignorant and disgusting. So what if he were a practicing Muslim? Last time I checked, in the United States of America, no matter what your name is, or what religion you may have practiced in your life, if you are born on our soil, then you are a citizen. As a citizen you are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, regardless of your background, and that includes the right to run for President if you have the means to do so. The discussion of Obama's religion and name is not relevant in any way, and is a disgrace to our country, and the flag. People like these who make these types of comments are why so many people are disenfranchised and lacking in "pride". They should be ashamed.

In reading these comments, I am amazed by the lack of howledge of some of these Obama supporters. There was one Clinton comment about the southwestern states, California, New Mexico and Arizona, they are all border states. These states have large hispanic populations and they are much different than the Cubans and a few others from central America, they are Mexicans. Texas hispanics are Mexican and have been exploited for years and years. THey do remember who stood up for them and that was the Clinton's. Yes there will be some lost of the young vote, but it will not be very much. Mexican's have tight family relations and their children are very respectful to their parrents.

No meaningful legislation has passed in the US Senate, or Congress for nearly 30 years. Every legislation passed so far is about raising taxes, lowering taxes, going to war in Iraq (dumb and rash as Obama pointed out). Come to think of it, can you name any meaningful legislation Clinton has passed?

So far, the US has invested over $500 billion in the Iraq war, money could have being allocated for infrastructure, development, health care, etc.

Michelle Obama never said she was “ashamed”. She said “for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of our country”. The pride she is expressing is that of a new political process, inclusive, less divisive, dignified and rejecting the “old ways of bickering”. She meant to say that she was not proud of past American political process. And few are. That is why CHANGE is the operative and prominent theme in this 2008 Presidential race.

Finally, I wish to point out to poet1951 to read facts before commenting on them. Precision does not seem to be your strong suit. If you are indeed a poet, then that explains it. Poetry indulges in gross exaggeration to drive a point. You cannot do that in political discourse.

There is a great amount of interest in this year’s presidential

elections, as everybody seems to recognize that our next

president has to be a lot better than George Bush. The Democrats

are riding high with two groundbreaking candidates — a woman and

an African-American — while the conservative Republicans are in

a quandary about their party’s nod to a quasi-liberal maverick,

John McCain.

Each candidate is carefully pandering to a smorgasbord of

special-interest groups, ranging from gay, lesbian and

transgender people to children of illegal immigrants to working

mothers to evangelical Christians.

There is one group no one has recognized, and it is the group

that will decide the election: the Angry White Man. The Angry

White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to

filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from

urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain

West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

His common traits are that he isn’t looking for anything from

anyone — just the promise to be able to make his own way on a

level playing field. In many cases, he is an independent

businessman and employs several people. He pays more than his

share of taxes and works hard.

The victimhood syndrome buzzwords — “disenfranchised,”

“marginalized” and “voiceless” — don’t resonate with him. “Press

‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him. He’s used to picking

up the tab, whether it’s the company Christmas party, three sets

of braces, three college educations or a beautiful wedding.

He believes the Constitution is to be interpreted literally, not

as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of a panel

of judges who have never worked an honest day in their lives.

The Angry White Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a

gun to defend his home and his country. He is willing to lay

down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and

Italian, English, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, or Russian, and

he might have Cherokee, Mexican, or Puerto Rican mixed in, but

he considers himself a white American.

Women either love him or hate him, but they know he’s a man, not

a dishrag. If they’re looking for someone to walk all over,

they’ve got the wrong guy. He stands up straight, opens doors

for women and says “Yes, sir” and “No, ma’am.”

He might be a Republican and he might be a Democrat; he might be

a Libertarian or a Green. He knows that his wife is more

emotional than rational, and he guides the family in a rational

manner.

He’s not a racist, but he is annoyed and disappointed when

people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the

worst stereotypes of their race. He’s willing to give everybody

a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn

English.

Most important, the Angry White Man is pissed off. When his job

site becomes flooded with illegal workers who don’t pay taxes

and his wages drop like a stone, he gets righteously angry. When

his job gets shipped overseas, and he has to speak to some

incomprehensible idiot in India for tech support, he simmers.

When Al Sharpton comes on TV, leading some rally for reparations

for slavery or some such nonsense, he bites his tongue and he

remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed

weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes

note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.

He also votes, and the Angry White Man loathes Hillary Clinton.

Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at

the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts

him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their

leader. It’s not that she is a woman. It’s that she is who she

is. It’s the liberal victim groups she panders to, the “poor me”

attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight

answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to

give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.

There are many millions of Angry White Men. Four million Angry

White Men are members of the National Rifle Association, and all

of them will vote against Hillary Clinton, just as the great

majority of them voted for George Bush.

He hopes that she will be the Democratic nominee for president

in 2008, and he will make sure that she gets beaten like a drum.

I am both saddened by the slanderous words of some and hopeful by the insightful wisdom posed by others. Yet, I am seriously depressed because of recently received knowledge.

Do you actually believe we live in a country by the people, for the people and of the people? Do you seriously think there will be an election for President this year? Do you really believe those in power will allow a person like Obama to take control?

We do not live in a democracy. We live in a military dictatorship and this has been going on for a long, long time. To think otherwise is to bury your head in the sand.

When the dirty bombs are detonated, Iran is blamed and Bush cancels the elections citing the Articles of War you will remember this post and cry like a baby. Some of you will believe the propaganda spelled out by those in control and follow like sheep. Others will realize the truth, get angry and tell their friends. These others will be labeled crazy, delusional and unpatriotic. These people will be spied upon, detained and exterminated. Others with this knowledge will try to flee the country. Some may succeed, but others will be stopped cold. And there will be those who will “get off the grid”, organize and fight.

Remember, any reduction in human population through tainted food, disease and war is exactly what they want. Their goal is to reduce the global population to 500 million. They have absolutely no regard for human life, only money and power.

But, many still believe in the Commandment Thou Shall Not Kill. And I know people who have this knowledge are leaving this country as I speak these words. Good Luck my fellow Americans, maybe I will see you on an island or on a mountain top somewhere in the near future.

For those of you who are reading this and are in the lower levels of the intelligence community you have been brainwashed, duped and deceived by your masters; the chain of command is a chain and you are being hung by the neck. JustinTime, you're wrong, and horribly so. There is nothing in the Articles of War or any other part of the Constitution that allows the President to cancel elections in time of war. Even FDR had to stand for re-election during World War II. To claim otherwise is merely to give voice to a paranoid conspiracy theory. I mean, seriously, I've heard quite a few conspiracy theories, but that one goes beyond the pale.

Anyway, getting back to the real point of this discussion, I didn't make up my mind on who to vote for till early this year. And I have no problems with Clinton, even though I think she's made a serious mistake in pushing the "experience" issue so hard. It might have worked against certain other candidates, but against McCain? Not a chance.

And no, I don't think Obama winning is a foregone conclusion. He has an advantage, but it's not decisive. I do find it rather sad the number of people on both sides of this divide who are mocking the other candidate (though at least in this particular blog, it seems to be directed much more at Obama than at Clinton). Seriously, "Obamessiah"? "Obamadrone"? "Obama Kool-Aid"? Quit acting like people who support Obama are somehow deluded and/or mentally defective, otherwise you destroy all of your credibility with the people you're trying to convince.

Honestly, I can't think of a more effective strategy to ensure that those people will support Obama all the more strongly. I would think that the people who are not in favor of him would want to wean his supporters away, rather than lashing out at them. I know that I wouldn't buy into any argument which held that I was somehow mentally deficient for supporting one particular candidate over another.

Something to think about, anyway.

I am not a Constitutional attorney, but this is what I was told (I also was told many, many other things from a source that I still am investigating). Yes, it could be misinformation or a phishing exercise to get my opinion on the subject. But, on further research I found the Bush administration made inquiries regarding the cancellation of the election in 2004 which apparently Newsweek investigated.

Serious question for mvers or anyone else - what does Obama stand for and what will he actually do - (i.e. pulling out troops in 2009 is not practical or doable - not all at once) - the man makes grand speeches - but all the articles read like People or Entertainment Weekly - I am not a Clinton supporter - but believe she does have a record to support some of her statements - allowing a bunch of people with stars in their eyes to try to elect a personality to the White House is foolish- by the way, to paraphrase, I remember John Kennedy and what he did and did not do, and Barack Obama is no John Kennedy. As sad as this whole process has become, for the first time in my life I will probably vote Republican in November and hope in the future we will start to look at issues and performance instead of stereotypes and media hype.

Question Bill Clinton's ethics? Why would we do that? A lot of us had to explain to our children what oral sex is because of Bill Clinton. Then we had to let our children hear how oral sex is not sex from the then President of the United States. We had to explain why a President and his wife would continue saying "I don't recall" or "I don't remember" so many times--like over 50 times--and not get into trouble for shading dealings. We had to explain that just because the President of the United States lies repeatedly in a press conference and gets by with it does not make it right. Texas will probably vote for Obama because he has been most in the postlight. HRC went wrong since she has been here a week and ONLY has had anything to do with the Latino communities and ignored the blacks, whites and asians. Also, at least in Central Texas Obama is not a wellloved person due to not being able to take a well meant critisism from a radio personality and demanded that the man lose his job.

This presidency should not be fought as a race war or as a gender war. It should only be fought as who is better to lead our country through this recession that is starting, getting our troops home safely, and getting our country out of being the laughing stock it has become in the last 8 years.

As for me I will probably vote for Hillary just so that Bill can be in the White House again. I can not support a man who does not honor our country and his wife is a hater of the country that has allowed her to live free. I will gladly be the first to vote for and help enforce a law that says if you don't like it in the United States you are free to leave and not come back.

Mrs. Obama did not say she was ashamed of her country. She said she was very proud of her country. And she should be!! I am for the first time in a long time. Obama did not show up for the State of the Black Union conference hosted by PBS' Tavis Smiley, was he afraid of being black did not want the white man to see him as a supporter of black rights. Senator Clinton has supported the rights of all races. She worked into her schedule to show her support. Obama had plenty of time to put the event on his schedule. I can’t support a man that does not support the rights of all the people including his own race. I was leaning towards Obama but have changed my mind and now will vote for Hillary Clinton for President. America needs to wake-up and see Obama for who he is all talk and no action.

It is very funny to hear a lot of Latinos, supposedly from Texas, actually talk in behalf of all Latinos. I say that this is funny because you read 2 different opinions when you read in English blogs as opposed to Spanish speaking blogs, as the one found in the Univision web page. I would say that the Spanish speaking blogs represent a more accurate picture as to the March 4th voting results are going to be. In the English speaking blogs you have Latinos that for the most part are raised in the U.S., are younger and have a little more resentment towards Caucasians. I am not saying everyone, but a great deal of them.

Latinos born and raised in South America, especially in Mexico, tend to idolize and deeply respect Caucasians, especially English speaking Caucasians. Mexicans to date are still very sensitive to skin color, but as a sign of social status, rather than in racial terms. This is a phenomenon that you would have had to been born there to understand it (as I have).Young Latinos born here identify themselves better with African Americans to some degree.

My point is that a large amount of the young(under 25 & U.S. born) Latino population will most likely vote for Obama, but the older and foreign born Latinos will lean more towards Clinton.

Like I said, for the most part:

Spanish speaking blogs: most say they will vote for Clinton

English speaking blogs: most say they will vote for Obama.

There are two sets of Latinos: U.S. born and Foreign born

They are not the same.

It really bothers me to know that there are still haters in this country like you.

Everyone knows that African Americans have been persecuted, but so has every other race some time or other. We can not dwell in the past and keep resentments festering.

The American Indian for instance, was tortured, slaughtered & almost annihilated by the British colonies. Small population still remains only because we did not kill all of them & out of remorse we gave them a small territory.

The African Americans also got some kind of retribution in the form of a new country.

This new country was called Liberia, which means "land of the free," was founded by the American Colonization Society & President James Monroe. The U.S. government offered all slaves from the United States to go back to Africa in 1820 to a new formed country. These freed slaves, called Americo-Liberians, first arrived in Liberia and established a settlement in Christopolis now Monrovia (named after U.S. President James Monroe) on February 6, 1820. This group formed the nucleus of the settler population of what became known as the Republic of Liberia. Only 12,000 people volunteered to go to a new country formed specifically for free slaves and financially supported by the U.S. Government.

The English-speaking Americo-Liberians, descendants of former American slaves, make up only 5% of the population but have historically dominated the intellectual and ruling class. The African American slaves had a choice to go back to Africa, but they chose not to.

Let’s not blame other people for our own actions.

Americia's are concerned about this country and the direction it is heading. The number of votes at primaries and cacauses has indicated people care about who leads this country. Lets look at the facts. Old politics have caused hardworking Americans citizens current and future problems and decline. The economy is in turmoil, the american dream is fading, and we are spending money overseas that needs to be spent here for security, growth and for citizens needs. I think America feels the same. I understand experience does matter, but so do integrity, truth and change. The problems must be solved or the people of this country will suffer. The Hilary's are not the one's who can bring Americans together to make the changes that are needed. There is simple to much baggage. If you want conflict and no change, vote for Hillary. I do beleive Obama is the leader who can lead people to make the changes that are needed. We need a leader who can make things happen in Washington D.C. One who has a vision and answers to the people.

P.S.- I do believe President Lincoln only severed a few years in the House/Senate before becoming president. He was not such a bad choice.

I do believe the dems are going to lose the general elections, I would rather have Hussein Obama get the nomination and go on to lose so we can all go back to our daily lives and Obamorons can all go back to their depressing lives until another pied pier comes along and once again whips them into a crazed frenzy with another catch phrase. If HRC wins the nomination and loses to McCain, we are all in trouble as the cult leader and his zombies (including the press) would forever remind us that their leader would have won against McCain. So for my sanity and even though I'm supporting HRC, I am hoping Hussein wins the nomination.

It's funny when I hear someone say that an election is not a popularity contest. When you are fighting to win over voters that is exactly what it is. The idea is that you gain a larger portion of the popular vote. Therefore, the person that has the larger numbers becomes the front runner or the winner of the election. It's not rocket science; it's simple mathematics. Obama is coming out in front. Polls are showing that he is making a strong stand in Texas and in Ohio. He has supporters coming to see him numbering thousands. It is well documented on camera and in the media. To assume that his support is lessened because of a Latino vote is ridiculous. Just as in any other contest we see that the vote there is split. Texans are not basing their vote on what the media projections are saying. They are intelligent people that are basing their vote upon what they hear and see for themselves. Bantering and arguing over why you don't feel a certain candidate should win will not sway their minds. It is the negative commenting that has swayed the vote against Hillary Clinton in the first place. Perhaps you would be better served by sticking to issues and away from unwarranted mud slinging.

The vitriolic rhetoric coming from the clinton camp is depressing. It is almost as though if they cannot win, then no other democrat should. What kind of democrats are they? Living through 8 years of Bush the world longed to get back to the clinton years, but we now have to wonder. Not about Bush...good riddance ! but we have to question a president who it would seem would do anything to get his wife elected. Even if it means railroading the best thing that has happened to American politics since Bobby Kennedy. And not only the best thing for America , but the world.

I must say I am disheartened by any Latino-American whose only reason for not voting for Barack Obama is because he's Black. If that is your reason you should go to pbs.org and look at the "Eyez on the Prize" series. It's 8 hrs of the civil rights' movement. You'll see lots of Black people and White people marching to make the playing field even. Those people were beaten, lynched, jailed and threatened for trying to give ALL Americans the right to vote. You know who could vote prior to 1965? White women and White men. Before 1920 it was only White men. The only reason our latino brothers and sisters have the right to vote is because those people weren't fighting for equal rights for JUST Black people, they fought for EVERY American to have equal rights. If you think that Hillary is better just because she's white, or you've known her longer, that's a poor excuse, especially for latinos. Especially because you didn't know Clinton before 1992 either, but voted for him. Es una lastima, y soy negra y aprendi el espaniol en el colegio y lo estudie en la universidad de Ohio State. Change:

In a speech in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on February 16, 2008, Senator Obama said that “change only comes from below” and that “change does not come from above.” If so, what he is running for the highest office in the country for? Senator Obama is a veteran politician who tells his supporters what they want to hear: the same charge he levels at his opponents. We all know that changes have to come from both directions.

Hope and Change:

Senator Obama runs on the “Hope and Change” message because he is short on experience. He has a 20-year record of public service compared to Senator Clinton’s record of 35 years. Senator Clinton also served as the First Lady and an experienced assistant to President Clinton in the Whitehouse for eight years. It can be said that Senator Clinton is running on the “Hope and Change with Experience” message. We all have “Hope” for our future and want “Change” for the better for the current political and economy system. Senator Obama is part of the system just like other candidates. Senator Obama has also been supported by lobbyists and has had a political machine just like his opponents. He is trying to portray himself as a uniter but he attacked Senator Clinton first in a debate by bringing up the charge that she was working on the Board of Wal-Mart while he was doing public service. To be uniter one should try to avoid a divisive situation in the first place. After wooing his supporters with the “Hope and Change” message, Senator Obama is now interjecting a reality check by saying that he knows how hard it is to change the system as if to prepare for failure to change it. Between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton, who has more experience and stature to change the system? Senator Obama is only a junior US senator who is still learning on the job! To vote for Senator Obama is to take a big risk because he will have to take time to learn the system from the scratch; whereas, Senator Clinton has been there with her husband all along as an experienced assistant!

Iraqi War:

The Iraqi war is President Bush’s war from the beginning. Based on the information available to her at the time, Senator Clinton decided on a reasoned judgment (her own words) and voted to authorize the president to use military force as the last resort against Iraq after exhausting all diplomacy means and after allowing UN inspectors to do their jobs in Iraq. The whole country was misled by Mr. Bush and his administration anyway with dubious intelligence. Senator Obama did not vote on this issue because he was not in the Senate then and later claimed that he was not sure how he would have voted on it. However, he now likes to say that he was right about the war without adding that he was right about it as an Illinois legislator, not as a US senator who had to vote on the issue. The war has not been going well for the US because of poor post-invasion planning by Donald Rumsfeld and his staff anyway. As far as voting record on the war goes as a US senator, Senator Obama voted like Senator Clinton on continuing to fund the war. Senator Obama is a veteran politician with all the complicated political trappings. Please listen to him carefully and watch out after you are swept over your feet by his charisma and sweet talk.

Policies of Yesterday:

Senator Obama runs on the “hope and change” message and often dismisses the “policies of yesterday”. But there is nothing wrong with the “policies of yesterday” that produced the budget surplus and other benefits to the middle class and the poor. It is the “policies of yesterday” that helps to give Senator Clinton and Senator Obama the opportunity to run for the presidency today; therefore, it is wrong to dismiss the “policies of yesterday” totally. We need to keep the good policies and try to correct or improve the bad ones. Senator Obama does not tell the voters the truth!!! Senator Obama misleads his supporters and others!!!

JFK and MLK:

In their young days, JFK was a war hero and MLK was a civil rights leader; whereas, Senator Obama admitted to using drugs during his young days in his book. He recently quit smoking to prepare for his run for the White House. Isn’t he calculating as a politician???

Senator Clinton was the one who first tackled this issue. Even though it was not successfully the first time, she has learned a lot of lessons from it. All experiences in life do come with a cost!

Today, The Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan PRAISED Obama at "Saviors Day" for hours! This should be on primetime news so that people will know who Obama is in cahoots with! Obama's economic plan is loaded with plagiarized information from Sen. Clinton's plan! Obama snubbed African Americans on Saturday at the State of the Black Union forum! Obama didn't want to be photographed with the likes of Sharpton and Jackson - until they are all chillin' in the white house! And Obama even sat on the stage chewing gum on MLK Day! If that had been Hillary, we would have heard about it for 2 weeks - but not one single report on the golden boy poet-in-a-suit smacking gum! Wake up America! This is not a game! This is not a CHANGE for the better. I need more than CHANGE in my pocketbook - I need SOLUTIONS! Don't trip - I am an African American Woman over the age of 40 - and I am still supporing Hillary! What I love about Obama is that he is trying to bridge the gap between the divisions...Democrats vs Republicans vs Independents being one of the key focuses. I read these boards and am stunned at the disdain that people feel for one particular candidate over another...with many giving reasons that they have simply heard in the media and have not followed up on to verify if it's even true (ie Obama being Muslim) . It is a contest, sure, and each wants to win and we all have a favorite, however, I see so much on these boards that is the very core of what Obama is trying to correct....disunity. I, along with the person who wrote the opening quote, am hoping that come November we won't be so divided we fall. Furthermore, I started out at 18 as a Republican, then an Independent because I don't like being one over the other...I simply want to have in office the person best fit to lead and protect our country. Personally, I see it as Obama...you may see it as Clinton, or McCain...and that is okay with me as I believe everybody is entitled to their opinion, however, I wish people would stop the tearing down of the other candidate. Your candidate can be supported by you without the need to "bash" the other.

I am for Barack Obama, he has good new ideas that make sense and that could work if everyone is on the same page. The Clintons had 8 years to make improvements but all Hillary Clinton has done was mess up the healthcare and she thinks that most of the people have lost their minds to vote for her as president? Both Hillary and Bill are too nasty and only are thinking of themselves on how to make a return trip to the White House. You really can not beleive anything they said and everyone needs to read an article posted on MSNBC from the New York Times dated 1/31/08 regarding Bill Clinton and all of the secret deals he has made against the United States, if I remember the name of the article is "Ex-President, A Mining Deal, A Big Donor", it is very interest and makes you sorry that anyone with the last name Clinton was ever in the White House.

Obama brings hope. That is what we need right now. That is what we want. Hope. Passionate, inspiring commanding - these are the traits of a true leader. We are all Bushed out and the American populous has a deep desire to have a meaningful leader and not a paper cut out. Yes Obama does not have the experience that Clinton does, but He does not have the baggage either. No man is an island and noone realistically expects the President to act alone on important world decisions. Obama will be consulting the same people Hillary would be in critical events. Another way to see it is this: If Obama is so inexperienced then why is he handling Clinton like a pro?

I am 57 years old, I have several college degrees, and I, like a lot of people who live in states like Texas, am a Democrat, but still conservative. I am not one who supports such things as abortion, I see the need for the death penalty to be given for some crimes, and I have more than once seen that a candidate from another party, either locally or nationally, was a better candidate than what the Democrats offered. But that aside, I have chosen to vote for Barack Obama in the Texas Democrat Primary, and this is why. First, this nation is facing a lot of problems that it has brought upon itself in many instances. Second, we need someone in the white house who is willing to look forward, and not remain with the same status-quo that has really shackled both the Democrats and the Republicans. Third, we need someone who advocates massive and radical change that, I hope, will help straighten out all these problems. Although I do not dislike Hillary Clinton, and I felt so bad for her when her husband basically cheated on her, I nevertheless, feel the Mrs. Clinton, despite all her talents (and they are many), will not deviate from the rut that both political parties have fallen in. In essence, I feel that we need a fresh new face and outlook in the white house. Barack Obama is that fresh new face and outlook. I do not want more of the same, and I feel that all Hillary Clinton will do is just that; more of the same. Now, as far as Mrs. Clinton saying that Mr. Obama is too inexperienced to be president, I have to rebut that with this. The changes we as a nation need are not something Mrs. Clinton or anyone else has any experience in. Instead, they will require a person who is gutsy enough and resolute enough to do them. Since these changes will basically be new to everyone, inexperience will not be a factor; only determination and courage to make necessary change will. In Mr. Obama, I see that determination, resoluteness, and courage to make these changes, even though we all know that the big dogs, so to speak, will fight him tooth and nail, even on the Democrat side. But nonetheless, change is needed by this nation. We cannot continue with the same old-time ways that have plagued our nation and its government, if we ant this nation to improve. It won't happen, because the big dogs will not allow it, and they will always field candidates who will do what they want. I hope everyone decides to give Barack Obama a chance, and vote for him on 3-4-2008, and, hopefully, in November. I am willing to let Mr. Obama at least try to get America back on track. Those who are alternatives to him will not.

1) he has never said that words dont matter (that was hillary) and has stated on several occasions that sometimes words can be more powerful than action

2)umm...what is half american....never heard that one before didnt even realize american was even a race...but anyway here is the argument agiainst what i assume you were trying to say...yes Barack Obama is only half black but when society looks at him they do not see a half-black half-white man they see a black man and as such he is treated as a black man he gets the same pros and cons that a "pure" black person would recieve (same treament that Tiger woods got).

3) you have got to be from some farm in Texas cuz im from Texas as well and no one in the cities or suburbs would ever refer to someone as a "half-breed" sounds like your talkin bout a horsse or someones dog and quite frankly its extremely disrespectful.
