It had not occurred to anyone that McCain may have been correct to begin with. NEWSWEEK,had jumped all over the 2007 NIE displaying the alleged certainty that Iran had ''suspended''nuclear arms research, We now know better. A bitter IAEA,and a fractious UN Security Council now realize that they were being played as suckers by Iran, and that their pursuit of nukes has continued unfettered.

Next, the alleged ''no cooperation between Sunnis and Shias because they are Sunnis and Shias''. Any number of news articles and reports from NATO and US military commanders [esp.see NEWSWEEK,The New York Times,The Associated Press,REUTERS,Agence-France Presse, from Apr to Nov.2007],in Afghanistan observe Iranian-made munitions seized from the Sunni Taliban.

The capture of bin Ladens top American spy,[Ali Mohamed, who remains is US protective custody],one who then Asst.US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald [later of Libby/Plame fame],called the ''most dangerous man I have ever met'',detailed a vast cooperation between bin Ladens Sunni al Qaeda and Mughniyahs Shia HEZBOLLAH which culminated in the Khobar Towers bombing of a US military dormitory in Saudi Arabia. Arms of indisputed Iranian manufacture have turned up in Iraq, wielded by both Sunni and Shia terrorist insurgents. Of course,''US Officials''as late as only last year,[April 14,2007,New York Times ]accused Iran of helping BOTH sides in Iraq. Who is right and at what time? Was that which was ''unfounded''yesterday become a fact today? In the wake of the massive failure of the 2003 and 2007 NIEs,are ''US Officials''the final word? What of the jihadists? Where do they make common cause that flies in the face of ''popular opinion''?[as we have seen].

Strangely,a ''slip of the tongue''[as those in the can for the Democrats, including Mme.Baily and Mssr.Wolfe would dwell upon],often reveals more truths than it claims to utter.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Feb.18,2008:''Triple Cross:Bin Ladens Master Spy In America'' DVD/VHS/Program repeat.

Who knows? Anything is possible. Even rational analysis from McCain.

I am,however, observing that the media is not a purveyor of ''inner wisdom''either, and may be completely wrong where McCain was correct. McCain has actualized as well as circumstantial evidence on his side. The Dec.2006 seizure of Iranian documents in Baghdad, not ''alluding to''but concretely establishing a rapport between Iran[through its Revolutionary Guards],and al Qaeda. The seziure of Iranian-made missle componants and arms from both Sunnis and Shias in Iraq,Sunnis in Afghanistan. The strange reluctance of the MSM to observe that less than one year ago,a Iraq-serving US General [ Caldwell],before a congressional committee, prefaced his testimony with the evidence that Iran was supplying Sunni terrorist insurgents in Iraq. McCain may yet change his mind on his remarks. Obama,on the other hand, has no hand worth playing insofar as the nuclear-determined Iranians are concerned. We have already been witness to the alleged effectiveness of Obaman-style diplomacy. It does not work. Not with these guys anyway. Ironically, the solution to Iranian meddling is brought forth with meddling of our own, forward, into the past. Say,1953,when the Shah was installed in Iran. Closely observe that all of those screaming that ''Bush Is Going To Attack Iran''were all wrong. Every last one of them.[vintage liberal and leftwinged blogs and articles even gave dates. For Sy Hersh of the NEW YORKER,it was ''Sept.2006''. For DAILYKOS,it was ''June,2007''. Hows this for ''inner wisdom''?

What can be done without Hershs hysterical assertions, and leaving the KOSSACKS out of the discussion as they suffer from perpetual St.Vitus Dance anyway,is to fund, train, and meet with Iranian opposition groups and foster their anti-totalitarian feelings. To actually forment a new Iranian revolution,in a nation that will see the rise of moderate forces. We cut deals, gas drops back to two bucks a gallon,no ''bomb, bomb Iran''everyones happy EXCEPT the Mullahs and the jihadis.
