So far, Stumper (via Andrew Romano) has the most honest take on Hillary's foray into speaking about Wright. You're 4:50pm update is spot-on, and is exactly why Hillary should not be President.

You know what's a good measure of whether someone's ready to be Commander-In-Chief? If they are acting Presidential. Hillary, clearly, is not.

To many church-going people, members of their church, including the church's pastor, qualify as family. Often, a person's connections with these people are stronger and more meaningful than their connections with members of their family. So, Hillary's argument that there is a difference between blood relatives and your church family isn't the reality of a lot of caring and compassionate people.

Having said that, Hillary's condemnation of Obama for remaining in his church of 20 years is counter to her own actions. Her husband cheated on her and lied to her about it in front of the whole country. So, if she took her own advice, she wouldn't have stayed with her husband. She would have left him. But for her own reasons, personal and/or political, she stayed with him. So, her condemnation of Obama, now that he's faced with making a similar decision, is more than a little hypocritical.

It's odd. The qualities that make me think Hillary would make a bold and formidable President, are exactly the qualities that make me cringe and not want to vote for her.

Thank you for the 4:50 update....it really puts some perspective on what HRC is really comparing herself with. She sounds all outraged but she isn't really comparing to the same level. She is just doing a mightly obvious job of trying to shift from her major screw up today. She is excellent at shifting blame. Obama? Well, he might not always answer fast enough for some but he does have the integrity to address issues that arise. Hillary's timing of finally feeling she should comment on Wright is so laughable it almost makes a person speechless. This is not a person I want in the White House. That just scares me.

Thank you Revolved. My sentiments exactly. I certainly would have avoided posing the question of leaving someone who behaved badly, i.e., Bubba and Monica. I would have not wanted to go there.. HRC is showing every day how hypocritcal she's become. Desperate times call for desparate measures.

Again more outright lies by newsweek! Hillary was asked multiple times what she would do if she were in Obama's shoes and she replied that she would have chosen not to go to that Church and then the scheming and manipulative reporters just like the Obama apologists at Newsweek pushed further and said well then are you putting Obama down and she said over and over again, I am saying what I would have done. She never insulted him, that has been the American public in fact and there is no reason to vilify her in any way for that! But of course from reading the posts you all lap up anything newsweek puts out there.

You are a disgraceful publication! Romano, it's time for you to realize that journalism is not your calling as you are far too opinionated and biased. You try to claim that Wright was Clinton's way of distracting attention away from her Bosnia flub, well I am convinced that the Bosnia is YOUR way of distracting us from the Wright controversy. You never reported like this and attacked Obama in the same way you are attacking Clinton right now. Again, pretty f*ing pathetic!!!

Anyone who actually belongs to a church knows that you don't choose your pastor your choose your church, and your church is family. If she were a Christian for anything other than political reasons, she would also know that Jesus died for everyone, not just those that agree with her. This is another example of her claim to experience of something that she knows nothing about.

The Clinton team has ruined her chance to win, and know they are ruining their chance to ever be employed by letting everyone know that they can't be trusted to be honest or take responsibility for anything. In about nine months they will have some expertise on the recession, because they will finally be feeling its effects.

Obama will not be the one uniting the party, it will be her. The politics of hate that they used to use against the republicans they are now using against their own. By the time they have grabbed at every straw in the basket, they will have alienated everyone in the party an unified them firmly behind Obama.

Her comments today let me know that she never even bothered to listen to his speech, If she had she would know that words do matter, and she needs to start watching what she says.

This is too funny!! Hillary would leave the church because of a few angry words by a pastor? Yet she "stood by her man" when, for years, he repeatedly rejected and humiliated her by turning to many other women for his sexual gratificaitons. Hillary was never good enough for Bill in this department. It's no wonder she is an embittered and angry worman! Yet, when Bill had an affair with Monica Lewinsky, Hillary acted surprised?? Bill should NEVER be excused or forgiven for using the OVAL OFFICE as his personal sexual playground!! Bill dishonored the office of the Presidency, the Oval Office, and the White House! He brough shame upon the office of the Presidency, the Oval Office, the White House, and shame to America and its citizens. Why in the world would anyone want the Clintons back in the White House?

In addition, there is a MILLION DOLLAR PLUS fraud case against Hillary Rhodam Clinton and William Jefferson Clinton in California. If she should illegally horn herself into the nomination, and should she somehow beat McCain, this lawsuit is going to follow the Clintons into the White House and we will see the same thing we saw in the 90s. More baggage, coverups, lies, coverups, lies, denials, deceit. However, since she is caught on tape, I don't think they'll be able to get away with it this time...that will mean IMPEACHMENT!! Does America really want to go through this again with the Clintons??? In actuality, Hillary Clinton should be disqualied based on this lawsuit and on her numerous fraudulant claims during the campaign.

Once again the Clinton campaign wants to get ugly and more divisive. Obama did speak up "explicitly." Senator Clinton said to do one or the other. Senator Obama did the one instead of the other. Isn't it interesting that Senator Clinton "misspoke" about her trip to Bosnia. Some say that it was a mistake and others say that she told a fib. Let's be explicit now. She out and out lied. People voted for Governor George Wallace and we should revisit some of his statements against blacks. Better yet, let's go back to "Roots." Just visit the history of the mistreatment, throughtout history, of Black people. It's been okay for years and centuries to speak about us as negatively as possible. Many African-Americans only express the hurt and pain that we have endured in places where people are open to examine the words and then sort out the truth therein.

Hillary Clinton lied..and now to cover that lie she ha decided to get nasty and see if she can stir up the press like a nest of hornets. Every democrat should be disgusted with her.

Obama made a history making speech on addressing race in America, and furthermore he made the speech as if he were talking to adults. It was really nice to be treated, for once in 7 years as if the American Public can think.

Hillary on the other hand, apparently forgot that the press was actually in existance during her term as first lady. Or, and since she also wrote about the incident in her own book, this seems more likely, she thinks you the American voter are so stupid, and the American press is so controllable that no one would ever know that she lied. Screw you Hillary. Oh, and thanks for totally cementing my backing for Obama.

The fact with hillary these days it is like she is grasping for straws with the childness actions in an effort to boost her self up to the lead. In this kind of horse race obama is in the lead and he is against the rail with the shortest distance for the win, Hillary is behind and on the out side trying to save ground, she is not taking the patience and reacting too soon. Obama is saving ground with the lead he built up and has the patience not to act rash or anything fancy which may cost the race. Hillary with the fancy flair and tricks is burning her self out with no gas to finish the way she is handeling the corse which she will end up as a "Also ran" while obama is at the wire and next stop the winners circle. Sum-up: go with the front runner obama.

Hillary should throw the "Shoes" in if she want's the shared democrat party to win election, She has to accept they are trying to win for the same "barn",(the Democrat party).

Hillary knows the game is up ----for her. All she´s doing right now is hurt Obama and the party. If she can´t win the nomination (she sure can´t!), she has to destroy Obama. She has literally endorsed McCain and is fighting ferociously to help the GOP over her own party.

The question is, why is the DNC just standing by, watching? Why don´t they step in now and end

this madness? You don´t have to be a prophet to see where all this is heading to: a cataclysm for the Democratic Party that will guarantee Republican reign for at least another 16 years! Those who have ears, let them hear...

As always, Hillary is out for herself. When she gets caught, she trys to change the subject and put blame on someone else. And now I think people should look at what other things she has "misspoken" about, like really supporting NAFTA when she said she didn't, etc. (per White House notes, you have two options, either she did oppose it, but LIED and made calls/had meetings supporting it to help her husband get it passed, or she really agreed with it). What are the odds that she has plants in the audience that will keep asking the question about Dr Wright to keep the issue alive ? I agree with the previous comments that the past week that Bill and Hillary's accusations are a sign of desperation and it is hurting the Democratic Party that seemed to have a clear way paved to the Novemeber election at one time. Time to step up DNC. When you talk about an electability issue, I only see a plus for Obama as Hillary has too much baggage from before and now is showing her true desperate colors.

Dear not_another_american_idiot : We bring along our own baggage when forming opinions about articles such as Romano's Clinton on Wright: She Went There, but as a 65 year old white female, I have to cringe at how sanctimonious whites have been when criticizing Obama's association with his church and Pastor Wright. What do any of the mostly white men I've seen criticizing this association really know about the black experience in this country? How can anyone criticize religion in any church while justifying Hillary's lies about the SCRIP insurance program for children, bringing peace to Ireland, opening the borders in Kosovo and on three occasions saying she dodged bullets in Bosnia (with a very young Chelsea at her side)?

The point of this article is that Clinton said that neither she nor her "people" would speak of the Wright situation, yet, after getting caught in this latest lie about dodging bullets, she responds to the Wright question in such a way as to get attention off her lie? And she does so at a conservative, Republican newspaper owned by the right-wing Schiff? What if she had shown some integrity and simply said when asked: "I said I'm not going there and I'm not commenting?" The answer she gave to the question is the worst kind of race baiting. It's saying look here white folks, if you vote for Obama you're getting a really black radical. It would help race relations a lot if white people understood this better. It seems, however, that Hillary supporters are just not opposed to this type ugliness.

It's tragic really how divided we are as this division is responsible for Bush getting into office in the first place. Angry postings are not helpful. Finally, I also cringe at watching Hillary's desire to claim the Presidency being so strong that she's willing to destroy Obama and the Democratic Party to try to get there. The party elders should put a stop to this as she has lost the primary, plain and simple. However, it's done, once she's finally convinced that she's never going to be president, I'll even vote for someone with more integrity to fill her Senate seat. If Congress ever hopes to increase their 11% approval rating, then we have to start electing people to serve in government who have integrity and who did not get there by lies, innuendo and racial baiting. It's time to kill off that ole-timey political beast fed by the Clintons!!
