It would be a huge mis step for Obama's advisors to allow Clinton and Mccain the stage tomorrow night, and that's coming from a tried and true Hillary supporter. The Obama camp should be out in front of this; they should have booked this LONG ago. I can see the polls now; Obama drops about three or four points because he doesn't go to this service, yet the two white candidates did. Do the smart thing; all three of them need to show up!

As an Independent voter (actually an ex-registered Republican) I try to be objective and logical and in the current situation the choice seems clear.

For the last eight years the Republicans have strongly and literally belligerently supported the Bush-Cheney-Rove policies and strategies that have been totally focused on benefiting Special Interests and a select few, while they gave only subterfuge and the costs to the average American (the War in Iraq being only one example). Since 2004 John McCain has completely, without exception, backed this arrogant irresponsible and unconscionable course of action and now, should he be elected President, he promises to continue as is. If the majority of voters can diligently avoid being manipulated by the significant power and substantial money that will be put into play, both overtly and covertly, by those who benefit from this focus, then I suspect in excess of 70% [being 95%+ who won’t benefit less 25% who will be deceived by the expected appeal to their biases] will appropriately not vote for John McCain.

Then there is Hillary Clinton who attempts to present a history of little experience and more exposure as being meaningful. The best that is consistently said for her is that she is strong, that she is a fighter, but what she demonstrates is an arrogant, stubborn, aggressive, self-focused, even dishonest [without conscience will say/do whatever she feels may benefit her], sociopathic personality, very comparable to GWBush. She very well may be perceived as strong because she is argumentative, divisive and necessarily a fighter having real difficulty getting anything done. Again, simply not a good choice.

Lastly there is Barack Obama, who, including his state legislature time, has little more actual experience than Hillary but then also offers promise for real change and an honest focus on benefits for the average American. While Barack doesn’t provide an extensive history he does exhibit a conscience that the others don’t, a promise for the real change needed and a commitment to unite people for the benefit of all Americans.

The actual choice seems to be for continuing the Bush-Cheney policies benefiting limited interests or continuing the Washington as usual politics with divisiveness and little accomplishment or for taking a chance on getting the real change offered combined with a conscience and a commitment to all Americans. That seems like a simple choice to me.

On this day of days I must say it makes me even more offended by Obama.He tries to tell us he is like MLK and JFK He is neither. Kings great dream is nothing like Obamas and his wifes and pastors. King had a great dream of equality and peace. Obama wants retribution as his church says and his wife. I believe King touched so many of us it led us in a direction of equality not just black and white but rich and poor. There were many poor whites than too and he stood for them.Obama brags about his gathering the rich to him only time for poor is when they will help his vote count.I am offended he wasnt in the front of this ceramony but not surprised.Hillary and Bill have fought for all people and he couldnt stand that so many blacks honored them.He lied to turn them.King was there inspiration.Obama no king!!!Sad he was to busy for blacks before and now this is where he should have been.To bad but maybe people will see now.What ever was so important is not as important as this.We revere King and send blessings and prayers to his family.Thany you. What are you...slow? What does race have to do with establishing one's priority? As an advice, when you don't have anything constructive to say, please say nothing at all; because, 'negativity begets negativity', therefore, leave it at the door of whichever campaign you've unleashed it from! Besides, who's going behind whose back and talk about race to whom again? How about we all focus on issues and facts that matter, and most importantly, unity, and how we are on the verge of making history at a time as difficult as ours. Everyone would love to have been able to say 'I attended one of MLK's meetings, thereby was part of something monumental'. Here's our chance...let's not blow it with empty and divisive rethoric!

Saying that Clinton and McCain are the same is absurd. You Obama supporters that keep doing this are being decieptful, even promoting lies. Clinton says she will end the war in Iraq. McCain will not. The person that said she will continue it for 100 years is either stupid or intentionally dishonest. Hillary has been trying to create a healthcare system for all for 15 years. McCain says markets will take care of it. Hillary says she will cut taxes for middle class, and rollback Bushes tax cuts for the rich. McCain will continue Bushes policy in this area. Hillary says she will punish companies that outsource jobs and rollback tax benefits for them. I haven't heard McCain say anything about this. What issues exactly are Clinton and McCain in agreement on? Clinton and Obama are very much the same in terms of issues, but they differ in style. It would make as much sense to say Obama and McCain are the same, as opposed to Clinton and McCain.

I know it is easy to get carried away and caught up with your candidate. I have to fight that tendency as well. But Hillary and Obama are both terrific candidates. Hating Hillary because you want Obama so bad makes no more sense than hating Obama because you want Hillary so bad. There is room for both of them on the winning ticket. Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton...either way, McCain wouldn't have a prayer, and we all win.

It's obvious that Obama supporters are hard of hearing or either can't read. Hillary is nothing like McCain, and at best she has a detailed and responsible solution for the pull out of our troops in Iraq. Yes, she is strong and she is a fighter, and that is what we need right now. Her sharing the stage with McCain during the Remembrance of MLK is a good thing. The Clintons have always fought on the right of civil rights, I know I am Black. During the 90's and beyond Bill was known as the Black President, what was that make believe? There is a lot of good that the Clintons have done for all working class Americans, it seems that this country has gotten selective amenisia.

I think that Obama and Clinton supporters hate one another right now. I feel from the remarks made by Obama supporters on the logs I read each day are disrespecting Sen Clinton who has done so much for our country and the African Americans throughout her life. When I see these remarks day after day it makes me more and more support John McCain. When I see and hear about other Senators and Govenors come out and support Obama or Clinton I get even more upset. These people should welcome the Canadates to their state and speak for each one. It is not Obama or Clinton who are seperating the Democratic Party - It is people like Senators, Govs and the like who are doing that. Not counting Florida and Michigan is a hugh factor. Who knows who will win those states, but without those states the race doesn't feel fair for either one. If Clinton wins them she'll be tied - If Omaba wins them then he is the true leader. Without those states everyone will always have doubt. As far as Obama not planning to go to Memphis - that may or not may be what he thinks as a security risk however, Clinton is just as much in the same type of danger because someone might see her as standing in Obama's way. Clinton is not going to Memphis because she will get more African Am votes - She knows that is not going to happen - She is going because she feels it is the most respectful thing to do to honor a great man who was killed at age 39 with a wife and children who also did many great things for our country for every single American. Obama can not and does not come close to Dr. King - Also - I truely do not belive that Dr. King would have stood for people who preached against America like Obama's preacher has done for 20 years. Maybe that's why Obama can't bring himself to go to Memphis.

I would just like to say, I think it's good that people have the opportunity to air out their thoughts and discuss what's going on in this manner. I've been through many Presidential elections in my lifetime, and this is the first time the whole country is involved. I never though I would ever see a Women or an African-American (i didn't vote for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton) with the credentials to effectively make a run for the White House (though Hillary would make this Bills 3rd term).

The economy was healthy up until about 2 years ago when the Dems. took control. It almost appears that they have allowed the economy to bottom out to spite George Bush. I think their philosophy is to make things look as bleak as possible in order to get a Dem elected as Pres.

Isn't interesting that politicians can play with our lives like that?

The way Obama goes through 100's of millions of campaign money, I wouldn't doubt that he thinks there's a money tree in the back yard of the White House.

He plans on keeping all those promises while staying in Iraq another 16 months (a lie, his aides say 2 years). At the cost of 12 billion a month to fund the warm, adds up to another 288 billion dollars. And you honestly think he will be able to keep all of those promises, wake up and smell the coffee and not the BS Obama is selling.

Why should he go? He's been there, done that. While every one else does penance he can go on to rebuild a nation. We threw our money into Europe's pockets and fought a war for them as I now pay 3 bucks a gallon for my babies milk.

Mrs. Clinton is willing to go because she knows what she is talking about. She is the only candidate who can solve the problems with the economy. We need to elect Mrs. Clinton if we do not we face four more years of really hardship times. Mr. Obama will not win this election because Republicans who voted for him won't be there in the general elections. Thirty % of Democrats won't vote for him either. Vote for Mrs. Clinton so you don't lose your job, your savings to high medical care, your investments, your home and your quality of life. Young people may find themselves graduating from college and not finding work, millions of people will lose their jobs. The so called affluent will suffer loses if the middle class don't have buying power. Buying power is something the Clintons gave the people in the nineties plus a balance budget and a surplus of $ 500 billion. Why would you vote against yourself. Just imagine yourself without a paycheck it could be your reality.

My proffesor say is like buying a mantion for five million dollars and having an income of $400 a month. She is the only candidate who can improve the economy. When voting don't look at race or gender, think who can do a better job for you. Because when your financial situation at home is bad brilliancy without results is nothing, inexperience is an obtacle, great speeches are forgotten. All I know is we need this economy fixed and fast. Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who can do this. McCain admitted he doesn't have an idea and Obama has not offered any other than to copy Hillary after her statements. I don't think he has a clue how to do it. He is just not presidential. He should have been at the memorial for Dr. King. It seems like his campaigning is always too important to take care of the really important things like honoring our heros and taking care of America. Smooth talk is not what we want, we want a good president who will take care of the problems of America. Hillary's much desired tax documents showed she gave $10,000.000 to charity. This shows she cares about people. Hillary Clinton is the one we need now.

As for any VA related issues, I'm not finding any corresponding actions on your Glorious Senator's part. He introduced no bills, though he voted yes on three, ( two in 2005, and 1 in 2006);

Cosponsored Healthy Kids Act of 2007 and Cosponsored reauthorization of SCHIP in 2007-- these two are the same bill. And, though he is listed as co-sponsoring it (GovTrack.us) he is listed as "not-voting" (VoteSmart.org) for/against it.

He voted to END? the war in Iraq? I didn't know that. I know he voted to FUND it further. He voted AGAINST the Iraq WIthdraw Amendment (VoteSmart.org)

He took a "Non-voting" stance on extending heathcare for Native Americans (Indigenous Peoples).

He was also "non-voting" on bridge repair, another CHIPS reauthorization, National Defense, Implementing 9/11 Commission recomendations, Student Loan subsidy, and the "FArm, Nutrition, and BioEnergy Act of 2007".

Alot of what you said isn't correct, or it is Senator Clinton's policy positions.

Do you want to do some more research or did BO put this info into the feed sack for his supporters? He lifts everyone's ideas. And he doesn't follow through in the Senate in supporting the others. Lyndsey Graham of SC said "He folds like a cheap suit." Which I thought was pretty funny.

HappyDay 41 either is a MaCain/Clinton shill, or makes his or her own reality. Clinton has lifted numerous proposals and demeanors from Barack Obama. For example, she added to her housing crisis proposal provisions Obama already had in his plan. when she started her campaign, it was "I," "I," "I." She talked about herself. From the start, Obama talked to you, the voters and what we can accomplish together. When Obama was highly successful with this approach, Clinton started to try and talk about you, the voter, but her stilted approach to that kind of talk made it sound disingenuous.

I think he is the best man to lead us. I am happy to see he is willing to stop the racial hardship in our country. He knows what America needs right now, so let's get behind a true leader.
