Nice touch with the Bin Laden Ad Hillary (sic). Frankly at this point I don't think Hillary could even give you a straight answer as to why she won't quit. Her campaign message changes week to week. She dogged Obama for praising McCain. When after Ohio & Texas she indicated she and McCain were only one's qualified to be President. I voted for Bill twice, supported him during impeachment and consider myself a true Dem. Farnkly I think Hillary is a lil loopy. Listen to her starnge laugh. Look into her eyes when she addressing a controversial issue like the Bin laden Ad. I don't get her support other than the woman being President issue. I am in Indiana and I will remember who supported her: Evan Bayh, Joe Hogsett etc...

I find it hard to believe that people find her more inspiring than Obama. I can't stand listening to her speeches. I'm not trying to be rude, but it is true. Every time I hear her speak I feel like I can't trust what she is saying. And frankly, that's not what I am looking for in a president.

Speaking of a president... Obama was great on The Daily Show last night. :D

I don't think that this says as much as you think it does. Al Gore could have, for the price of exactly $0, called a press conference yesterday and announced that, in light of the deadlock in the party, he was putting himself in the race, and encouraged supporters to vote uncommitted or to write him in. He would have no chance of catching Obama or Clinton in the delegate race. He would have no money raised. And he'd, immediately, pull at least 20% with no organizational advantages whatsoever.

Being able to pull a huge chunk of vote on name recognition alone is not all that big a deal.

I find it amazing that NEwsweek has a child writing about issues as important as the US Presedential Election as an authority. If he began each article with "I am a total Obama supporter who has never seen a complete election before' thenwe would understand his lack of depth and wisdom. But that is exactly what is wrong with the news today. They use blogger opinions as news. Anyone can make up stuff like Romano does but very few can actually get the story.

If Newsweek is to regain it's news status and leave the Enquirer status they will have to go back to school and learn how to report.

Is anyone else tired of hearing Hillary's supporters say that she has proven she can win the "big states" and that's why the superdelegates should "choose" her? Am I wrong, or will CA and NY vote democratic anyway, and TX will vote Republican. Just like previous elections, we'll have our red and blue states, and our urban vote versus rural vote. Does her argument make sense??

The only group who can get Hillary out of this race are the voters, not the pundits or the party bigwigs. The only way Pennsylvania voters can have an impact on the race is by voting for her opponent. Voting for her simply prolongs the status quo. The same options will be there for the voters of Indiana in a few weeks, they can give her the excuse to quit or keep stringing her on.

When I see her staff argue that she carries the big, swing states I wonder if anyone has analyzed who, within each of those states carries the party heartland. It seems that the method for assigning delegate seats within the states is designed to reward strongly loyal districts by giving them more clout. That is one of the reasons Obama can come up short on the total vote but still stay close on the delegate split. Somehow, he manages to carry the major population areas with the core party support. If Obama's inability to carry these states is a sign of unelectability, isn't Hillary's inability to carry major population centers like Philadelphia, Cleveland and Houston a similar sign of unelectability?

What everyone seems to not realize is why would Obama be excited about another debate. They have been debating for months the issues that were discussed have been gone over so much it is ridiculous. So you would think the debate would have been about the issue and when it started off the way it did I lost my zeal for watching and I could only imagine how mr. Obama felt the only difference is I turned and he had to sit there. They continue to talk about Obama spending 3 to 1 and what should he do people have donated to him to do just that and they are trying to make that a negative. Well I feel that it shows his ability to manage and run a campaign in a way that in the end at least he will have CHANGE. This is the third time during this race that we have heard Ms. Clinton is operating in the red she has already loaned herself money what does this say about her ability to run the country I guess we will be in more debt. Should she win in Penn. shes been campaigning for 60 yrs. its her hometown or one of them people will always lend towards what they know rather than what they don't know so she should kill in this state. She should really consider her stand on the issues because they change depending on whats popular at the time. Go Hillary you're truly one of the boys.

I'm in trouble. I can't possibly vote for Hillary, she isn't honest and not at all Presidential and I certainly wouldn't want Bill back in the White House in any condition. Obama scares me - I just don't think he is forthright and has unsavory connections to Reverend Wright and I think he lied about him in his efforts to cover for him. I hold the Presidency to a MUCH higher standard than what I am seeing with these two. Pitiful. Just pitiful. After 8 years of Bush, it is a shame that these two nominees can made a Republican look like the most viable option!

Will someone please inform Senator Clinton that she did not win Texas? It's all about the delegates, and Senator Obama received more of them in Texas than she did. Period. We have caucuses and they count, and she was overtaken in total delegates from Texas. Please stop referring to Texas as a big win for her. It wasn't Neither was Ohio. We are talking delegates here--you know those folks she's trying to persuade to disenfranchise those that they represent. She netted what? a whopping nine or ten delegates from Ohio?

This constant goal post shifting to please her fans is getting tiresome. She was up 20 points in PA, where she has family ties--and yet now if she wins by a point or two it's some sort of big deal? If she wins by 10 it's a blow out? Please! Anything less than what she started with is a loss in my book. She is behind in pledged delegates, popular vote, and funds. But if you allow for Clintons lies ( both of them ) the way they are portrayed, it is as if they are presented as an anomoly, not as business as usual. That includes all of the politicians we are able to vote for this election.

Why is it so exciting that Clinton lied, made a mistake, whatever...when there are equal articles ( granted not so much here on Newsweek ), establishing the deception and unethical methods of both Obama and McCain?

If you actually look at the numbers, Obama is not winning by that much. Also, most polls show that Clinton supporters are more likely to vote for McCain if she is not running ( I think I saw 65% but I am not sure of that ). These are considerations that they have to take in when deciding the nominee. The party is looking to win, not have an ethical debate.

The mere fact that rabid responses fill up the majority of these posts makes me wonder why I am even registered to vote or concerned. Perhaps I shouldn't be...I just honestly think that there are so many leaps of logic in here that it is a bit upsetting no matter which side you sit on.

What I honestly think is vote for who you want, but don't leave it up to one person to make these "changes"...demand them from your own life, make the changes in your daily routine, in your interactions with others. If every person was as ethical and responsive as they imagine these politicians need to be this election, then we wouldn't even have articles like these or these discussions.

I am curious, they say that Clinton and Obama have extremely similar policies. Supposing either one got elected, what exactly would you be losing if the other one doesn't make it? I mean, aside from the personal mudslinging of who is the most ethical from day to day, if all their policies were to come into play as they say they will present them, what is there to lose?

Cottonn - what is it that scares you about the Clintons? Exactly how would even the most horrific lie told during campaign affect the proposals that she wants? Or do you believe that she doesn't want those changes? Why do the lies that Obama tells not scare you? Or is it not about the lying and I am misunderstanding?

With all of the spin whiring around Senator Obama I would like to remind everyone that he and his campaign have chosen to demonstrate a tremendous amount of restraint in bringing up and attacking all sorts of huge issues that can sink the Clintons like a brick...

We don't just need change in Washington... we need change in the status quo of the media as well. Senator Clinton has gotten much more of a cake walk with the media than makes logical sense.... Senator Obama has been maligned and hammered... the media needs to grow up and learn how to be substantial. Clinton as president would be a BIG mistake. I was there during the Clinton administration fighting against NAFTA, GATT, and the WTO... these people play the game of politics, corruption, and dishonesty.

I am so grateful that so many in our country agree with me that Senator Obama is the president we need to elect.

I am concerned about the voting irregularities that have already been reported by voters today... the article that CNN has posted stating a Pennsylvania official as saying there are no irregularities may just be spin for the cheating that may be taking place.

Clinton says she HAS to win... she has the establishment support... I hope there are some people who can keep this election honest... but I am not so sure... cheating is much easier in a primary... no witnesses to the real total... caucuses have witnesses... I know what the count was in my precinct during our caucus... if were to not be reported correctly... I would know and there are many witnesses...

The think about caucuses is it's harder to cheat......

Did we learn nothing from Mitt Romney's campaign? If you could "buy" the nomination or the presidency, how many people would have been president by now that have run, had endless resources, but DIDN'T win? Finally someone in the media is recognizing the truth, no matter how much Hillary is outspent, critized, dumped on, pushed aside, and complained about she is still right there is the mix. Name any other candidate that can achieve this?

Her support is so deep and true to her that her supporters are going to do what she asks of them. Many would follow her if she were to join a unity ticket with McCain, putting party aside, particularly if Obama keeps treating her like one of those evil Clinton's, you know like that really bad Bill Clinton, that rotten guy so willing to do anything to win. Obama dislikes her so much and sees her as so much of the problem, why should she support him and not become part of a very strong unity ticket?

Along with her supporters who do not want her to go, the Democratic rules allows Hillary to stay in the race, so therefore, she does. The Democrats made up these complicated rules using super delegates and awarding delegates according to the percentage won in each state. So, ya know what? This is what happens with rules like these. If the Democrats wanted their nominee pick sooner, they should have less complicated rules. It's as simple as that! In the meantime, the media wants "their cake and eat too" by complaining that this race is going on too long and "C'mon already" while enjoying the ratings with the continuous campaign fighting. By the way, the last paragraph of this article states the Washington beltway sniping describes Hillary Clinton's persistance as "pesky". I'm wondering if this was describing a male candidate, would the word "pesky" be used to describe his persistance. Hmn...

It has been very interesting and enlightening this campaign season to watch the language and verbage used to describe male and female candidates.

It's all the 50 & 60 something female empty nesters clinging desperately to a campaign they are so emotionally invested in because they were most likely wronged by a male counterpart along the line. Or prehaps they are afraid that this is the only chance they have as their golden years are knocking, to see a female in the oval office. And so they hope for vicarious vindication through HRC. Despite the fact that if it werent for her filandering husband, she'd be just another lawyer that was swallowed by obscurity. I'm all for a female president, but I'd prefer one that made it on her own merits, not on the tails of a stained coat.

Hillary has one not so painstakingly boring rally, and suddenly you're waxing philosphical about her. The reason that people keep supporting her is because the media keeps perpetuating the myth that she still has a dog in this race. Most low-information voters still think this is a tight race. If they only knew! Besides, what is particulary impressive by a rally of 8,000 when Obama had a rally of 35,000 in Philly? When Hillary has a rally of that size, then I'll be impressed.

P.S.

She didn't win Texas! That's one more myth the media is perpetuating that only serves to enable her delusional supporters.

Hillary and McCain are good friends: it is true. Both would do and say anything to get elected. Both change as the wind blows. Hillary will soon be more combative than Bush throwing atomic bombs to Iran, and McCain will soon be a good republican after almost becoming a democrat so that he would continue to exist as a politician. They both have sinester smiles and a terrible anger that perspire from them.

With many older (50+ ) voters still having major impact in the elections, it'll come down to this... What are the Democratic voters in this country ready to do first -- have a woman candidate or have a Black candidate?

I'm hoping that sex and race have nothing to do with who voters choose, but hope the choice is based on who is more capable of leadership without alienating Congress. After all, presidents do have to work with Congress. Both Democratic candidates (+McCain) will be well-advised on decisions they will make, so who do you trust to make the BETTER decision.

I'm for Obama because I think he is a better leader and I do WANT CHANGE. Give me ANY CHANGE because it just HAS to be BETTER than the current state of affairs. And remember, BILL Clinton had something to do with the current state of affairs a few years ago. He set events into motion that Bush just made worse.

Are YOU better off today that you were 8 (or even 12) years ago? Please, America... no matter who the Democratic candidate turns out to be, come November, DON'T PICK McCain.

Sure, he doesn't take it from PACs NOW (although he did when he began his campaign) because he has figured out a way to get even MORE MONEY FROM SPECIAL INTERESTS by using bundlers, corporate executives and "lobbyists on leave" who gather hundreds of thousands instead of the mere $5000 a PAC would be limited to giving his campaign.

Or what about his lie about his "typical white" grandmother -- there was nothing typical about her. She was a bank VP, and executive when there weren't many women executives in banking. She was not poor, although he tries to give that impression. She was wealthy. And he won't let us ask her if he was telling the truth in that speech he gave, even though everyone that knows her says they don't believe she would have said anything racist.

Clinton is a peacemaker who has been working to bridge difficult gaps throughout her carreer. Her insight and experience in Ireland to solve the religious war and terror there give her an advantage over Obama, whose approach and style, while he may have wanted to unite people, have instead divided the democratic party whose mothers and daughters, young and old, black and white, rural and urban are bickering with one another.

And I know someone will post that her claim to have been involved in the resolution of the Irish problem is a lie, so here is the confirmation from those who would know:

If he had just done it once, just been "experimenting" with pot, it wouldn't be a problem, but what are parents going to say to teenagers who are thinking about experimenting themselves? We can't tell them that drugs will mess up their lives, will make it impossible to fulfill their dreams, because they will just point to Obama and say, "No it won't."

Better than working for Rezko's non-profit partners in his failed multi-million dollar taxpayer funded housing projects. Where did the $50,000 million in tax breaks go? Where did the money that was supposed to be used to build out and maintain these apartments go? for an investment of $100 per building, Rezko and his buddies made millions and then dumped the unpaid loans back on the taxpayers. This is the kind of person Obama associates with.

And he would be out of money if he didn't have lobbyists on leave and corporate executives twisting employee arms (or reimbursing them like Rezko did) and writing checks in their family member names to avoid the FEC limitations. Obama isn't taking PAC money because he knows he can get so much more from bundlers, who aren't limited to $5000 contributions like the PACs are.

You do realize the last time housing market bubble burst Bush senior was in office, prefaced by 8 years of Reublican Economics from Reagan. Their money policies are intended to keep the rich ..rich and the poor..poor.

Bottom line, almost half and soon to be, maybe more than half of the voters so far have noted for Hillary. Like it or not, agree or not, 50% of Democrats feel Hillary is the best choice.

I would vote for Harold Ford in a heart beat for any office he runs for. Obama....NO! I think 49.7% of Democrats are like me....seeing a arrogant well spoken person with VERY little experience, totally supported by a biased media and young uniformed voters who have no concept of real life.

Hillary has made many misjudgements and I will never understand the Bosnia trip comments but she still will make a better President. So would have Al Gore in 2000 and for 49.7% of Democrats, we're seeing the same thing happen again.

I had the highest of hopes that Hillary Clinton would be the first female president when this race first started. But as the primary race continues, I no longer think that she would do this country any good whatsoever and that the economy will suffer even more if she is given the candidacy because she cannot win the presidency and we cannot support another republican. As difficult as it may seem to some of the people who are higher up on the economic ladder than I am, some of us actually have to decidewhether we are going to buy groceries or buy gas to get to and from our jobs. Believe me my 4% cost of living raise does not come close to meeting the 20% increase in food and the 30-40% increase in gasoline and fuel to heat my home. This race is not about gender nor is it about race. It is about our survival.

Any mature Democrat remembers the Clinton Presidency as a good time, a time when he made the Democratic party relevant again by moving it into a fiscally responsible direction. I don't begrudge the young folks their enthusiasm for Sen Obama, but it truly is naive and uninformed to swoon over a candidate who just talks pretty. As for the wealthy and highly educated, I don't think they have enough at stake in this election to care about actually getting something done. But my main point here is that the press and media have not covered the Obama campaign. There is a ton of accumulated baggage that has been hidden from the voting public that the Republicans will not be dependent upon the press to reveal. I will vote for Obama if he is the nominee, but I will be very surprised if he can win in November. - setting an exit plan for Iraq

- eliminating the federal reserve and or placing it under the treasury dept.

- Eliminating the concentration of mainstream media press ownership in America

- Getting the constitution back

Instead we hear about dodging bullets in Bosnia, who is more accomplished in foreign policy, who has a better health plan and who voted for what in the past. 3. As far as the media hounding her have you ever watched the Today Show when Meredith interviews her? They are practically trading baking secrets.

The reason Hillary should stay in the race is that this has been a very long campaign, lasting several months and over that time the voters change their minds about whom they support. I am sure if you look at the stats of sexual predators and sexual crimes against children, you would see your picture a few times next to stats that would make A Rod jealous. Obama's investment in Penn State is what kept the race from becoming a total blowout for Clinton. It's quite possible that the primaries on May 6 will negate any lead Hillary gained in Penn. Add to that the, fact that the Hillary campaign is struggling financially, go to factcheck.com and see the lies she spewed on the last day of the primary with those ads. She's going to have REAL problems shadowing her campaign from here on out. How many vendors in Texas, Ohio, and not Pennsylvania she hasn't paid? People will remember that in the general election...

This was again proven by her closing remarks where the aim was to appeal for

the Supers but instead of doing that, she launched into selling herself to the

not include that and she was just a robot memorizing her summation, thus could

not give an extemporaneous appeal. There goes her reputation for intelligence,

I say she is an overrated dumb lawyer who've flunked the bar exam, but passed

where he nailed the appeal that may finally swept the Supers into his side.

With roughly half of the votes and a nearly equal number of delegates between the two candidates, no matter how you try to spin this, it still comes out to a neck-and-neck race with no clear winner "yet." You and the other media members calling for her to quit, don't seem to get that part. Half of anything is still just that ... half.

He is not a Muslim and does not have mulitple skeletons in his closet. Bill Clinton was a fantastic President by most accounts but we aren't voting for Bill Clinton. It is Hillary in question. Hillary does not have 35 years of experience as a politician. She has experience as a first lady. By Hillary's estimation, Laura Bush is qualified to lead this country due to her "experience" and I would no more vote for Laura Bush than Pee Wee Herman. I heard a comment about the lapel pin recently, George W. Bush wears one and he is as unpatriotic a person as I have seen. He has sold our country to his cronies and special interests as well as involving us, through his lies, in the quagmire of Iraq which has nothing to do with terrorism, national security or even weapons of mass destruction. Hillary is really good at calling Obama out for things that she herself has done. Complaining about treatment by the press, voting records and "negative" campaign tone. She has a lot of nerve and seems to think we are all just too stupid to notice. The fact is, Hillary is just "Republican Lite" and what we need is someone who isn't going to allow special interests,(see Hillary's accepting more money from lobbyists and big business than any other candidate), to run this country anymore.

Continuing the battle is actually a no-lose proposition for Hillary. If she does enough damage to Obama, she may get the nomination. If she falls short, the damage may well be enough to cause Obama to lose the general and reinforce her current statement that he can't win, or at least that she would be the stronger candidate. At that point she will be in excellent position for 2012, because McCain will likely not run for reelection at age 76. The only potential losers are Obama and the Democratic Party.

Still, unfortunate as it is, the democrats are our only hope at this point for dragging us out of the sewer that the republicans have plunged us into. I don't care who wins in November as long as they are not republican.

HRC should demonstrate some consideration, if she has any, for the democratic party and bow out now. Beginning Friday she is going to be invovled in a civil suit involving the worst instance of campaign finance fraud in the history of this country, a case where it will be demonstrated that she was one of the primary individuals to collude, conspire and orchestrate the fraud as well as to mispresent the fraud to the Fraud to the FEC. Not only will this instance of fraud in California be addressed, but her participation in other instances of fraud will come out during this trial.

And this time, the evidence is incontrovertable. This will be a Clinton debacle that, unlike in the 90s, they will NOT be able to get themselves out of. They've already been fined by the FEC. However, the civil case will be far worse, because unlike the FEC, this case is in Civil court and therefore, the government will be unable to cut a deal under the rug as a favor to her to cover her butt.

If she has any integrity, and this certain will test whether she has any, she will bow out now.

You fail to mention the flip side of teh equation is that 50.3 percent of Democrats who've voted so far (and nearly a majority of Pennsylvanians) find Obama more presidential, more capable or simply more inspiring than Hillary. Having many friends that are African-Americans, I have asked each one of them this simple question... If Obama was white, would you still vote for him knowing his political platform? Almost everyone of them say they would most likely have voted for Hillary if Obama had been white. Then to me why vote for him at all? If you would do a little homework you would find that Hillary worked very hard while her husband was president, and did a lot for all of us (including you!!! ) during his two terms and while 1st lady of AR. Also on her own after law school and as a US Senator. Her years of experience and making positve changes are HUGE compared to Obama's track record.

I find these boards are so full of misinformation, I wonder WHO some of you are??? Certainly not writers who care to check their facts, or care that they are posting incorrect information! AND... for God's sake... Why can't little tiny minds get beyond Lewinsky??? Hillary showed us what kind of class act she really is during this most difficult in her life!!! It's amazing to me how personal these attacks have become. The people vote for the candidate the fee, think, HOPE, WILL REPRESENT what they believe to be the best interest of this country. Clinton experience was as a first lady, traveling, smiling, supporting her husband through his HARD times..lol. Obama's where he is based on people believing that he is going to be a hope, a change. Thats what it all boils down to A CHANGE IN THE WAY THAT POLITICS ARE DONE. PERIOD. If she cared anything for this country and what it really needs she would have been gone. I'm a woman and proud to be and African-American one at that, but I would never vote for any woman just because we share the same gender; just as I would never vote for an African-American because our ancestors are the same. Older people vote what's familiar to them for the most part; younger people vote because they want something different than the status quo; I pray that the American people vote what they truly believe is best for them and this country. And not out of some blind loyalty to the Clintons. The dynasty of Clinton/Bush needs to go!! If she hoodwinks the superdelegates and gets the nod, I won't vote at all. An election campaign is, in a way, kind of a show where candidates compete and the audience - the voters - decide who they prefer. But the position of a president is a job and criteria to be chosen for a job are radically different.

1. Hillary Clinton tells that she has a better experience. But the longevity of experience is only important for pension. It is performance that is important for getting the job. And with performance the picture is radically different - nearly every time it is like being under sniper's fire in Bosnia or another tall tale.

2. Being President is no contest before the audience - the President's work is relation with the Congress. In election contest she emphasizes her smearing tactic which she uses from the very beginning, from the promise to demonize all her opponents to her Health Care proposals in 1993. And, as we have seen then, smearing one's opponent is a bad tactic: smearing insults your opponents and alienates them. As a result opposition becomes much stronger and often insurmountable. As Hillary Clinton definitely will not change, she would be a disastrous President.

Like now many voters, if Hillary Clinton gets the nomination I will vote AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY that supports such behavior and vote for John McCain. Nominating Clinton Democratic Party would lose a lot.

Experts said Obama has all the math. He has the bright day. For Hillary, she has the dark night. But they forget that twinkling stars appear only at night. It is those twinkling stars that give hope to Hillary. Even if she has only 1% chance to win, life has full of success stories that taught us lessons of not giving up.

What is that chance? The undecided super delegates' votes.

When Florida and Michigan were punished for breaking the rule, Dean said 'A rule is a rule.' Well, the rule for the super delegates is that they are free to choose their candidates and are not bound to follow the popular votes. And Hillary is hoping that they will choose her. That is why she is still running to make her case.

Remember Al Gore and G. Bush? In 2000, when the Supreme Court stop the vote recount in Florida , nobody cried foul because those justices are Supreme!

If the super delegates are bound to follow the popular votes, then they become no longer super but useless.

As Obama is preaching hope, Hillary took that advice and is practicing hope.

When HiIlary Clinton said: " Yes, we can!" I know what she means. When Obama said: "Yes, we can!" I do not under what he means. Obama promised hope and change, but I do not see what his promised is giving us any hope or change better or different than Hillary Clinton. Obama has about 200,000 voters more than Hillary Clinton not counting Florida and Michigan. Why he can get his funding five times more than Hillary Clinton? The only answer is his supporters are richer and willing to give, or there is another sources for his money? The media reported that Obama's supporters have a higher percentage of college education than Hillary Clinton's, but in the comments in this article, I see more mispelling and bad gramma used by the Obama supporters than Clinton's. I just wonder why?
