Note that the McCain campaign is subtly floating running-mate trial balloons. The Condi Rice balloon sank pretty quickly a couple weeks back, and note Gov. Jindal's Jay Leno appearance this week. The most interesting trial balloon may be that of Carly Fiorina, who is suddenly showing up on TV quite a bit and is rather effective. With MASSES of Washington experience, McCain seems like one candidate who could go completely outside of Washington for a running mate. Fiorina could mix things up in interesting ways -- not only among women voters but as someone who brings some economic strengths to McCain's weaknesses in that regard -- assuming she doesn't have too many skeletons in her corporate closet. Watch for the next balloon. (I'm expecting the Huntsman balloon pretty soon.)

Jindal?? What is he 14 years old??? So much for attacking Obama for not having experience! Ooh yeah, Jindal for President in 2012, that will go over well. Mcain/Romney is the only ticket that makes any sense for Conservatives. Ooh wait, I forgot, McCain is not really a true conservative.

Is Jindal even done paying off his student loans? Was Jindal even born in this country? I guess that does not matter because Mccain was born in Panama. Once again, Mccain trying to destroy the Republican Party.

The Republican Party can't decide whether their Official Party Phobia should be Xenophobia or Homophobia. Picking an Indian for VP? Sounds perfect-- all the rednecks would say "At least Obama's American..."

When I first heard about this guy...I thought what? After I read and listened to this guy...I thought OMG where has he been all these years! Jindal is impressive....he's been in governement since age 25 and has accomplished more then Obama and HIllary put together. He talks good but its the kind of good that's full of substance and specifics. When you listen to him, he makes you feel that all is possible and changes are not things you can believe, can dream about, can speak about but it will be done. This is a kid genius with a heart of a saint. Mccain will do well with him on the ticket.

JINDAL will not be chosen

1] Louisiana will go to mccain

2] the Louisiana Lt. Gov is a democrat and if elected the democrats would be handed a state house on a silver platter

3] i see jindal as being a viable presidental/vice presidental candidate but his is not his year

if he can turn Louisiana around and heal some wounds.. all this publicity will be make him a known face across the country

He has my vote for VP and I voted for Clinton. This man is the Republican Party's answer to Obama. He is a Rock Star! I was impressed the first time I saw him on CNN.

I'm from Louisiana. Lived here practically all my life. Bobby Jindal has done amazing things here already. We are taking steps toward becoming a respectable state again. I agree that he's probably a litte too green to be a viable candidate this year, but he will be a strong fixture in the GOP for years to come.

The GOP campaign against Obama very much rests in the voters' fear of a "Black" man becomming President of the country. . How are they going to explain having a "Colored" man as their VP candidate? Oh, yeah, of course, I forgot. They loooove double standards.

Jindal may be young, but that was the criticism of Obama when he launched his campaign for the democratic nomination... and Ruqayya, one thing you are missing is that although Jindal is colored, his is a color stereotyped as a 'model minority'... non-muslim (only religious accusation that you can level against him is that he's either a closet hindoo or a papist, and that's not exactly threatening), young, intelligent, colored, and can win as a republican in louisiana.

When I think of Jindal as Mccain's VP, I think...what will the attacks be....

1) He's too young.....even though he's got extraordinary experience and accomplishments?

2) He's too religious and high in values?

3) He's too Indian?

4) His name is really Pyuish Jindal?

5) When he was 16, he wrote a paper about exoricism?

6) He supports chemical castrations for second offense child rape?

7) He supports allowing children to analyze and debate intelligence design theories?

With this, I say Jindal is the best choice for Mccain. I really would like to see the Obama campaign run attack ads on the things listed. Mccain - Jindal 2008.

Whoever mentioned Carly Fiorna she's a bad choice. Look at her track record at HP. Lots of pink slips flying right and left and continuous drop of HP stock price until she was booted out of HP.

Jindal is at least more promising, honest and right on track with the economic realities unlike Arnold in CA.
