Obama does not have the nomination "sewn up." The Democratic nomination process has been interfered with and undermined by an out-of-control pro-Obama biased media.

Black racism cannot trump the Democratic nomination process. Obama's lead in delegates, superdelegates and votes is due to the black racism in voting against Sen. Clinton.

The Democratic nominaton process calls for all states to vote and if the candidates come up short in delegates for the nomination, then the superdelegates must select the best qualified candidate for the presidency using their independent judgment.

Obama does not have the requisite number of delegates for the nomination; he has no presumptive lock on the nomination. The Democratic nomination process is still in progress and concludes when all of the remaining states have voted and the superdelegates select the best qualified candidate using their independent judgment. Sen. Clinton is the best qualified presidential candidate and she must continue her fight for the future of America.

Qualifications must be the unyielding principle, similar to the rule of law, for the presidential nomination. Obama's skin color and fear of alienating the black vote cannot trump the unyielding principle of qualifications.

Swiping the nomination from Sen. Clinton with the premature end of the nomination process is a subversion of the Democratic nomination process, and Obama will crash and burn in November and the Democratic Party will be a train wreck in November. I will vote McCain. McCain will be president and it will be four more years of Bush under McCain.

Crat3 I doubt there is anyway to change your opinion, so I will not debate you point by point. I will tell you though that the nomination is finally wrapped up, and whether you like it or not, Obama is the nominee. Maybe you are just venting your disappointment with your post, but assuming that it is your true viewpoint, may I suggest you should take a critical look at yourself. The way we view something is a reflection of ourselves. By screaming racism, I suggest you examine yourself for racism. By saying you will vote McCain, even though Clinton and Obama are very similar in policy, shows that you either have done little research, or you have a strong defense built up not letting you see clearly. I say this only to try to show you something about yourself that resonates strongly in your post, and to advise you that others will also.

I read yesterday that Obama wil be in West Virginia on Monday.

Oregonians, mail in their votes which would explain why he is in Oregon.

ABC reports that Obama now leads, in superdelegates, pledge delegates, and

the popular vote. Not bad for someone who started a national campaign from scratch.

As far the White vote is concerned most of Obama's voters and supporters are White.

He's won in Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, Minnesota,

Utah, and won more delegates in Texas. He's won 32 out of 47 states. A recent Gallup poll

has Jewish voters supporting Obama over McCain. 61% over 38%.

I would like the true Democrats, both Clinton and Obama supporters alike, to beware that there are Republican/Limbaugh operatives posing as Democrats in here who are trying to stir division amongst ourselves.

It's easy to tell who these people are: they are overtly racist, emotional, and do not offer any substantive reasoning. I've seen many of these people spend their entire day commenting on various websites under various bogus identities, copying and pasting the same talking points in order to disrupt civil discussion and stir up division.

No true Democrat is going to vote for McCain and have 4 more years of war, recession, and no health care.

Well, I wouldn't put words in his mouth, as to skipping West Virginia - but since Ms. Clinton has announced to all and sundry that she has the 'hardworking white American' vote, AND some seem to agree with that, it is a bit of a downer - I actually find it depressing that these things can be said in this millenium and in this part of the globe, the Christian West. It doesn't portend good things for this society, if we take that kind of stance without some effort at rejecting it.

So, it certainly doesn't mean Senator Obama won't visit WV - or that his supporters and campaign are not going to make the effort to wrest a good number of the votes from the other side! I for one will be phonebanking madly all weekend, to see how many I can persuade on behalf of Senator Obama.

Obama will be campaigning in W. Virgina. He is scheduled to be there on Sunday and Monday. It's not that he is ingnoring this state, but given his impending nominiation for the democratic party, he must also focus his efforts on the general election. Because this primary has lasted so long and Hillary refuses to see the light and join the rest of us in reality, Obama must start the general election campaigning now. We've already lost some road to McCain, howerver I'm not worried, as Obama, as only he can can and will make up for lost time.

It's sad that HIllary is continuing in this race for her own political career, rather than putting the people first and the overall good of the "people's career". If she is truly fighting for working class, white adults who do not want to have a repeaat of Rebuplican rules - then it seems the only choice for her is to exit the race and unite with Obama to defeat the republicans. She is doing more damage than she realizes....it's like she and her campaign just don't get it!!!! As Obama said, this election is so much bigger than just her as Hillary Clinton! It's bigger than all of the candidates.

Pakistan is a democracy because Gen. Musharraf seized power in 1999 by effecting a military coup d'état and has suspended the constitution of Pakistan twice.

Both Afghanistan and Iraq are not true democracies as they don't have any national sovereignty. Both countries are currently under military occupation by a foreign power: this fact, hardly classifies Iraq and Afghanistan as democracies.

Both Iraq and Afghanistan also have full fledged insurgencies going on.

Iraq had elections under Saddam Hussein. Cuba has elections. Solely having elections does not equate to having a representative democracy.

Germany, Japan, and Italy for that matter, have US forces on their soil, correct. But these countries can choose to expel those forces if they so choose and the US forces do not meddle with the democratic process or the country's internal affair.

It's quite different in Afghanistan and Iraq.

West Virginia has some big problems that an Obama Administration could handle.

They need jobs, they need responsible use of remaining coal assets, transportation both in the state and also in and out of the state is slow and difficult because of the topography.

West Virginia also has some significant advantages. It is a beautiful state, although scarred in places by irresponsible mining. Beautification and reclamation can make it an even bigger tourism and vacation draw.

It is also close to major population centers, major users of electrical energy. What better place to

set up clean coal carbon sequestration generation? As long as I'm belaboring the blindingly obvious how about using some of that carbon to make things, like, for instance, diamonds?

HRC's tactical mistake has been to believe that by moving to the right, she could beat Obama with centrist Democrats. This primary is not about who won or lost, but who have the blessings of the American people to lead the nation through tumultuous and uncharted course for the next four years. Clinton supporters, Obama desperately needs you, and will do everything to try to redress the issue of disenfranchisement and disappointment. He can't win without the support of all Democrats!

It is now important for the Democrats to join together and eliminate those in power who have ill served our Country for the past 12 years. Clinton's thin veil of legitimacy and highly visible crown of inevitability has flown wide open for all to see her invective and devisive side. Your attempt in this column to call attention to this is fine, but is not fine for Clinton to trash our preumptive nominee at the expense of our country, especially our troops and move on as they say. My son in Iraq would say the same thing, as would most boots on the ground, not officers of enlisted mind you, our boots on the ground who are dying at the rate of over 1 per day. Each day that Clinton goes on with her irrational campaign makes us angry as we see each death day after day and SHE voted for the war and never backed off of this position.

It is time for her to leave, hopefully with some grace, but perhaps sadly, not.

First, Obama does not have the nomination "sewn up." He may be close, it may be likely, but the race isn't over.

As to why he's skipping West Virginia? Just as he and the mainstream media have coronated him the nominee and, essentially, the next inhabitant of the White House, and surmised that he doesn't need those "measly" delegate votes from the Mountain State, the Mountain State likely will rebuff him. Significantly.

Besides, he probably doesn't have much to say to a predominantly working-class electorate, mostly white, who may know of his condescension to that class, as well as his disdain for gun-owning people who actually have faith in God, desperate or not. Plus, most grocery stores won't have arugula.

Too, I'm guessing that people here won't really cotton up to someone, regardless of the color of their skin and who is by all definitions an urbanite and elitist, coming to lecture them about who they are and that he knows them and their issues better than they do.

And there won't be many West Virginians to whom Michelle can whine about not having enough money to pay for thousands of dollars of piano lessons, or just barely getting by with a high six-figure, even seven-figure income.

Most of us with college degrees, including advanced ones, actually joined the workforce in those mundane professions she and her collegiate pedigree just couldn't or wouldn't.

And many of us--most?--while not fully satisfied with some of the things our country may have done or even be doing, didn't have to wait the decades she did to say she'd finally found one thing about America of which we were proud

Actually, given that West Virginia is an older state, Obama might not be welcome on the basis of his criticism of Sen. McCain's age.

And given that West Virginia may have one of the highest, if not highest, number of military veterans per capita, he might have to answer some questions about patriotism he may find offensive.

For sure, folks of all political persuasions here have seen through his lies about Jeremiah Wright. That's caused many to question not only his ability to tell the truth, but also how someone could have such poor judgment and show such little concern for the racist, anti-American tripe Wright espouses.

Of course, there are West Virginians to whom he'll appeal. They deserve each other.

The Obama is elitist meme is laughable; unlike his two opponents he did not grow up in a wealthy family. He was able to attend Harvard Law School on the strength of his grades and through hard work. Michelle also came from a working class family, her father working in a water filtration plant. She works so hard and is able to attend good schools through her hard work and rises to the position she is in. Yet some nitwits want to make it seem like they are the freakin' Rockefellers.

He relates quite well to working class whites, blacks, and hispanics. However, he does not have the name recognition to start at a high level, unlike Sen Clinton (who was only able to make it to the Senate based on her hubbies accomplishments).

He has never shown disdain for religion, guns, or working class people. His comments before were that because of economic conditions poorer folks will often vote get involved in voting that is on hot-button issues, vice fiscal issues. Get over it people.

Obama will be going to West Virginia, but since he has this race sewn up (that is right, he has more popular votes, more pledged delegates and more super delegates...deal with it haters) he can now start running a general election type campaign. If I were him I would ignore Hill and start going after McCain.

And arugula is elitist...they sell it down at the Piggly Wiggly and Winn Dixie where I'm from so it can't be that big a deal.

One thing I seem to not understand is how the 'Hillocrats' are raring to vote for McCain just to punish Obama and the Democrat's chance in the fall. They may have done the similar in order to punish the Republicans for the congressional elections of 2004 and look where it ended up. Even the most ardent supporters of Hillary should understand that Obama will at least return the balance of ideology to the Supreme Court in order to protect some of the most pressing and contested issues such as abortion, death penalty, and same-sex marriage. To attract the Southern votes and appeal for their participation, Obama will pick a VP candidate from these regions. He will do everything in order to vie for every single vote in the November elections. All he needs is for people to open their minds and where he stands on the issues as compared to McCain, who has sadly lost his maverick luster long time ago.

Obama is missing an opportunity to begin working in West Virginia to attract support for the general election. He can't afford to let the white blue-collar workers who support Clinton slip away.

ajuntari: I think that many of Clinton's supporters will end up begrudgingly voting for Obama because of the Iraq war and because of what McCain might do to the Supreme Court. Obama has a lot of work before him, and he should have started in West Virginia.

Those of us who supported Hillary -- and will continue to -- might prefer Obama on the issues, but could still see McCain as a maverick. And an experienced one at that.

Obama has run a negative campaign and has been deceptive. It has been frustrating to watch the press overlook it while bashing Clinton for daring to so much as criticize him. It's going to be hard for him to get past that. And the fact that he lacks the experience, know-how, and polish that Clinton has.

Examples: 1) recently stated he will appoint strict construction not moderate judges as he advocated before 2) no longer believes in even attempting to balance budget instead promises to preserve or enlarge Bush tax cuts to the rich and 3) actively cozies up to Falwell whom McCain used to criticize for his intolerance, as well as psychopastor Hagee.

McCain's inexplicable shifts of position, pander to crazy religious leaders and to public through ill advised gas tax holiday, and going to the gutter on day 1 of the de facto general election with Hamas comment, shows Mr. Straight Talk will say or do ANYTHING to get elected, because he's figured out that he can't win based on the issues.

It's too bad what happened to him in 2000, I would have voted for him against Gore, as would a lot of other people. But those of you who are aware of his entreaties to the far right wing, do not assume he really intends to become his old pre-2000 self when and if he is elected. He will not. He is not the same person, and will do exactly what he now promises, and supposedly now believes is good for this country, not what he would have done in 2000.

In terms of winning in November I think it is unwise for Obama to skip West Virginia especially since the headlines are saying things like "Obama Gives West Virginia the cold shoulder." He cannot afford to take states for granted come November. Using a "southwest strategy" may not work given that McCain is from there and if he picks Mitt Romney as his VP the Republicans have a good chance of winning both Idaho and Nevada as well as Arizona so states like West Virginia will be needed. Also it does not help to have supporters like the immature fellow in one of the previous comments calling into question the intelligence of his fellow voters in West Virginia simply because they don't share his political beliefs. You don't bring Americans together with that kind of attitude.

Your analysis notwithstanding, I am in Huntington W.Va. today and there is an Obama rally scheduled, in Charleston at noon. There is a large Obama headquarters in downtown Huntington, and it doesn't appear to me that he is skipping W.Va. While he may not win the state in the primary, his campaign is obviously not taking it for granted come November as one commentator suggested.

Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Sen. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.

Sen. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Sen. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.

If Sen. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.

Don't be fooled by the pledged delegate, and math arguments. Neither candidate has the necessary pledged delegates. The entire delegates counts, and votes from Florida, and Michigan are not even being counted. Plus the democratic caucuses, and primarys have been heavily corrupted by fraud, and vote cheating. The only relevant question now is who can best WIN IN NOVEMBER and take back the Whitehouse for the American people. And the answer is HILLARY CLINTON. Everyone knows that now.

If Hillary Clinton can refer to WV voters as buffoons, I wonldn't put much weight to their decision making ability either.

We all know Barack is doing the country a hughe favor by following the advice of the Secret Service and not spend much time in a KKK state.

I can't wait to see the results of the WV primary. AMAZING, their candidate of choice refers to them as buffoons and they vow, (at least in these posts), to support her in large numbers.

Buffoons. They will waist their time and ballots to prove they will not vote for a Black candidate and if one White candidate doesn't win the primary, they will vote for the White candidate in the other party in the general election to avoid voting for their party's candidate of choice.

I happen to actually agree with one of the other member comments that most of these comments are not being posted by true Democrats.

For the record: The country is not going to elect a Republican to the oval office this election cycle.

Barack Obama is the Democratic choice and with or without WV, Barack will be the next president of the United States.
