The inbreds in both states just aren't critical thinkers. All you have to do is wave the flag, drink a cheap beer, say you love guns and Nascar, then shout at the top of your lungs that you just can't trust people of color and they'll follow you all the way to hell. Obama has virtually all of the college educated people in the country in his corner because he's smart, honest, and he oozes class/honor/integrity. I have been involved in the Obama campaign in several states and what I don't see widely reported is that racism is a big reason why he isn't getting some of his votes. In West Virginia, it is full of people who don't care for the thought of either a woman or a Black man, but hell would freeze over before they vote for the black guy and they sure don't want the Republican, so they will take the woman. It isn't anything to do with how much they believe in Hillary--they just can stomach her more because she is a white woman. You see this attitude in Kentucky as well, but more in the rural areas--not as much in Louisville. I have seen it firsthand--people calling me the 'N word" (I am pasty white for the record), people referencing that Obama should be lynched, and what I said above--that they'll take the woman over the black guy. Though now they are using Rev Wright, because it sounds more acceptable. So West Virginia doesn't mean much given the demographic. If Obama wasn't as winnable as the Clinton camp tries to say--why is he trouncing her in delegates, winning more races, making more money--unlike Clinton who is actually having to loan herself money.

Or is it Obama's charming oratory? Unlike the Republican Party, which is known for big business support and uppity class whites, the Democratic Party was always the bedrock of blacks and mostly white blue-collar workers, but when we see blacks rushing to vote Obama and white blue-collar workers rushing to vote Hillary, the party is in bigger trouble than the Republican Party this year. Racism probably isn't reported because it's fairly obvious...on both sides. As many blacks are voting for Obama because he is black as whites are for Hillary because she's white. I can't believe this is actually a surprising trend to anybody. In the end...who cares?

I'd like to point out that those redneck hillbillies are Americans. They are Democrats. They contribute to this country just like you do. You may have had different opportunities which have led to your success.

Comments like that are exactly what is tearing apart this party. It is not the fault of either candidate. Democrats need to realize two things. 1) We have been blessed with two fantastic candidates who have done great things to further the Democratic party. 2) While Obama will win the nomination, in order to win in November, he needs Clinton supporters to support him. So, to call them dumb or insult their decision to vote for Hillary or to insult their candidate (a FELLOW Democrat), Obama supporters are continuing to drive a wedge between the party.

Support the candidate you believe in, but remember, you are a Democrat. Your candidate is a Democrat and without all Democrats, young and old, rich or poor, educated or not, we will not defeat McCain in November without each other.

So John, practice what you love so much.

Some folks believe that all politicians position are constantly positioning themselves during campaigns for best advantage, and therefore trying not to reveal their true orientation. My take on the candidates per that analysis is that Barack Obama is considerably more liberal than Hillary Clinton, at root. I'm a moderate-to-conservative Democrat, so I want a centrist candidate. I'm also convinced that her instincts and world-understanding are far more suitable for a Commander in Chief. Senator Obama, it seems to me, would be wholly unsuitable in that military command role, given his absence of relevant background. But hey, it seems that set of value-based judgment calls makes me a racist in the eyes of the Obama campaign. I'm not very happy about being called that particular name, especially given my rather disqualifying background for the racist role. Guess I'll just have to grit my teeth and vote Republican, and hope that Senator McCain will stick to his centrist core beliefs and won't listen to his party's right wing too much.

I voted for Hillary Clinton in Illinois Primary because I think she is a better canditate, She is a smart woman and I think she would try harder than and other preident because she would have to prove she can run this counrty as well as any man or better!! Wright were white It would still bother me the same way! I think this bothers alot of americans! Speaking as a 37-year-old white man from West Virginia, I would have to say that, in the game of national politics, my neighbors are more sinned against than sinning. What I mean by that is that, contrary to reports, they tend to be fairminded, and not especially racist, but they're uncomplicated folk, and sometimes easily led. They're not stupid, but they're often poorly educated, and therefore slow to grasp complexity and nuance. These characteristics have made them the victims of those who would seek to use them, too many times to count.

For what it's worth, I voted today for Obama, and to judge by the numbers I've seen reported, the majority of the folk in this state who've had any higher education did also. I suppose that's all I have to say on this topic.

The Sultan of Dubai OWNs 20% of the Nasdaq (as well as 30% stake in Citigroup)

Sultan of Burnai (or one of those ME rich nations) has started to buy up backup subprime mortgages here in the US - meaning US homes are owned by ME Sultans

China owns hundreds of billions of US dollars in a trade deficit nurtured by GWB and DC

ALL OF THIS UNDER THE MISMANAGEMENT OF GWB AND HIS "THE US IS FOR SALE" PHILOSOPHY

I am from West Virginia, have family there, and cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone cares for whom they vote. Do you really want a bunch of, openly racist, high school drop outs picking your next president? They have elected, and reelected, a former KKK member as their senator for crying out loud. Remember, Obama won Idaho, Minnesota, Virgina, Montanta, is favored to win in South Dakota, and Montana who all boast a 90% working, blue collar white class of people. I can't believe you are eating up all the "spin" and lies the Hillary Clinton is feeding you in West Virginia! And what's worse, is that you are going back for 2nd's and 3rd's!!! The same democrats that are voting for Hillary in the primary season will vote for Barack in November. Why - becuase, like now, if they do everthing Hillary tells them to do and feeds on every little word she says, then when Hillary has no choice but to face the current reality and support Obama for President, she will tell all of her current supporters - Vote for Barack Obama. I think it is quite ironic that the media can run white (Hillary) supporters down in every way, shape, and form using every degrading word they can think of: un-educated, poor, blue-collar, working class, old etc. while Obama supporters are "educated, upper-class, young..." Yeah, because I am sure that the 90 +% African-Americans that voted for him in North Carolina for instance all came from ivy-league schools and if you notice this tidbit of information always comes at the very end of an article or broadcast??? I think if they are to be fair they should either break down this large demographic smaller or they should just leave it out on both sides entirely.

Yes!We All Can: Hillary Clinton is a smart woman and I think she would try harder than and other preident because she would have to prove she can run this counrty as well as any man or better!! When the entire thing came out about Rev. Wright and the things he was preaching it totally turned me away from Obama, If Obama and Rev. Wright were white It would still bother me the same way! When he called his grandmother a typical white person that showed his true feelings!! I think this bothers alot of americans! To be president of the United States I think you need to truely love this country and Obama does not fall into that catagory for me. Wow, reading some of these posts, I can see where we are in real trouble as an electorate. Such bigotry and hatred is almost unbelievable. I didn't vote for Obama, but now I am having buyers remorse. I guess Hillary's campaign's dirty trick (the e-mail about Obama being a muslim) was accepted as truth by too many. Even worse; many would blindly allow this to influence their vote.She would definately be the candidate of the ignorant class. The country is in big trouble. Honestly, Obama was my original preference, but I was open on Hillary just due to the fact that I knew of her husband, she's a woman, and ANYTHING is better than MCCAIN. As the states rolled on, I kind of noticed how she did things that made me feel funny, little by little. I don't like how she tries to bait you into giving her what she wants...maybe good for gov't, not good for citizens. Then, for her to go on and on about her extreme amount of experience...c'mon, her ass was with Bill in the white house! She wasn't prez! I feel pity on white girls I've known who have been disowned by their own family solely over the fact they date outside of their race. Blood is blood right?

Many in the Barack Obama camp, having outfoxed the apparently not-so-formidable Hillary Clinton machine, can't seem to get the hang of winning gracefully. They feel a need to drive a stake in Hillary Clinton's reputation, then dance. If they were smart, they'd heap praise on Clinton and let her finish out the race, however she chooses to do so.

That's sage advice, even though offered by Republican mastermind-turned-pundit Karl Rove. Treat Clinton shabbily, he says, and many of her supporters "will remember it by November."

Nonetheless, Obamites are throwing victory parties over the impending defeat of a fellow Democrat who has thus far pulled in more than 47 percent of their party's primary and caucus participants. Some take a more direct approach. In anticipation of the West Virginia primary, college students for Obama were hurling insults at farmers and truck drivers holding signs for Clinton.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy, unable to contain himself, administered one last kick to Clinton's dignity by opining that the New York senator lacks the "real leadership" needed for the job of vice president. He said that Obama should pick someone who is "in tune with his appeal for the nobler aspirations of the American people."

So much for the nobility of aspirations held by his own state's Democratic primary voters, who preferred Clinton over Obama by 15 percentage points. Next door in Rhode Island, Rep. Patrick Kennedy dittoes Dad as an unwavering superdelegate for Obama — this despite Clinton's 18-point win in that state's primary. It's as if the voters are invisible.

Disrespecting the nearly 17 million who have supported Clinton is politically unwise, but turning them into "the enemy" is insane. Last week's enemy was working-class white people. The Democrats can win without a majority of white voters — as Obama strategists undiplomatically note — but they can't win without a strong showing among them.

So Obama partisans do not help their cause by willfully misrepresenting Clinton's reference to "hard-working Americans, white Americans" as racist rather than as a poorly worded observation made in a state of utter exhaustion. The fervor of their outrage suggests that some regard the mere consideration of white people, particularly white men, as a demographic needing a special message is an act of bigotry. (That's as opposed to a thousand other racial and socio-economic groups that politicos routinely slice and dice.)

We now hear pained remarks from the Obama camp that many white men won't vote for any black. Oh really? No one was complaining during the early races in Iowa, Maryland, Virginia and Wisconsin, when most of the white male participants backed Obama. That was before the Rev. Jeremiah Wright ugliness became public.

Weirdly, Obamite triumphalism seems to be merging with the festivities on the Republican side. You can understand why the right would welcome what it prays is "the end of the Clinton era." Bill Clinton presided over the longest peacetime expansion since World War II. His budget surpluses put his so-called conservative predecessors and successor to shame. Wouldn't a vow to build on the Clinton legacy, rather than dismantle it, be a better tack for the Obama campaign?

By the way, Clinton's continued sparring with Obama does not hurt the Illinois senator's chances in November. It only crowds out Republican efforts along that line. Believe me, you'd rather have the Clinton version.

Obama can't beat John McCain without large chunks of Clinton's core constituency: women, Hispanics and the white working class. Dumping on their candidate is one step removed from dumping on them — and some of the Obama people don't even bother with that step. Rove must be enjoying the show.

You article is right on about this being a loser for all. My family hails from West Virginia, although my dad moved to Pennsylvania after he left the Army. I have spent my entire life visiting family in the rural part of the state, Greenbrier County region. There is no question that West Virginia has some of the worst racist in the nation. There is a main office of a large white supremist group located in Hillsboro WV, about a mile from my aunt's home. I have been in homes of people who have arsenals of guns and rifles, the kind of people who will be ready to fight the government if need be. The people of West Virginia are great folks for the most part, as long as your skin is white and you don't cross them.

Obama knew this. He is a smart man and did not waste his time trying to change generations of racial issues in a two week time period.

Hillary pandered to these people, and that is what they like, especially all of the attention she drew to their state for this primary election. But in the end, will she remember them and address the real needs of the state? I doubt it. I'm just wondering if she chewed tobacco and played horseshoes during her campaign?

My guess is that it will affect the VP choice Obama makes.. He will need a uniter, a running mate with proven experience reaching across the aisle and a non-abrasive style that doesn't go for the jugular (or lower). I would like to see a governor with a really solid reputation for gathering kudos. For me, one of the women now running some of our states seems to be a terrific solution to the problem.

Senator Clinton won by 41 points when she supposedly has no mathematical way to win. Why? And what does it say that Obama won only 26% of the vote? What does it say to those voters that he did no campaigning? The state that had Kerry and Gore won we wouldn't have gotten in this mess. Not sure why he thinks her voters are going to cross over automatically when he discussed nothing in the CHANGE! rallies. He won 13/14 caucus state of which 4 are blue. And in his "big win" in Iowa it was Obama 38 Edwards 30 Clinton 29. Ask yourself why he couldn't knock her out after 11 in a row, doubling her up in contributions and the MSM and DNC behind him? And it appears a little electioneering in Evansville Indiana. Volunteer was saing "Obama's house as the voters walk past. Clear evidence on videotape. Nobody says a word. What about the Texas caucus?

TO Sara28 You've missed the point WV polls show "-20 percent--is the percentage of whites who said the race of the candidate was a factor in their vote", and "two-thirds--is the percentage of those Democratic voters who said they'd support John McCain over Obama in the fall". I don't have any prof but i would say that most if not all of the black democrats and educated white democrats supporting Obama are not so racists that they would vote for some one else to scorn Clinton for Obama losing. You are right though, Obama's main support is the black community, they just aren't saying they won't vote for Clinton because she is white like the people from WV. When Obama wins 92% of African American voters in NC, it's seen as 'energizing the party' and highlighted as a strength. When Hillary wins 60+% of the white vote in EVERY state, and blows Obama out in a place like West Virginia, it's due to poor / uneducated white people and Hillary's racial divisiveness. Many myths got put to rest in WV about the type of voter whom Hillary can attract: she won ACROSS THE BOARD...IN ALL CATEGORIES OF AGE, EDUCATION, AND INCOME. Clearly, the people of West Virginia are smart enough to vote for the candidate who will actually fight for them.

If Obama is so able to bring people together, why did he not campaign in West Virginia? He is WRITING OFF the votes of an entire state of people..which is far from bringing them together. Obama has outspent Hillary 2,3, and 4:1 over the past few months, yet he cannot become the nominee without the use of super delegates. Since those super delegates can change their mind at any time between now and Denver, Hillary must remain in the race.

Thanks to the DNC, we're at a point where we have a 'favored' candidate who cannot win...and a candidate with a real shot of winning, who is being undermined at every turn. It's going to be Hillary...or McCain.

People accuse a candidate of being man and overbearing even when his words and action is nothing but. (Heck the guy even defended Hillary a the public debate in PA saying she deserved a break causing journalists to go softer on the Bosnai lie issue - all the while as she drove in knives on the botched bitter comment or pushed nearly inconsequential links to undergound mean etc).

The mythical swing states -- which are they? If they are like WV, as Bumper says, poor and white, seems to me Obama has a big problem. His campaign analysis about putting Red states in play seems to be brought into serious question by the fact Obama puts many of the classic Democratic states in play, and he has serious problems in any state which is "poor and white" or "racist" which I think does not play well to getting anywhere is the South. The solid African American vote in the South has done nothing for the Democrats, why would that change in November? And then he has a Latino problem as well. In fact, Obama has a lot of problems with playing the electoral map the way the Presidential election is designed. Taking aside race, which probably costs him 5 points, the thing that worries me most about Obama is that he resembles a John Kerry -- big Northern Liberal (although Obama is far more talented individual that Kerry ever was), which the Republicans have been able to feast on for the last 50 years.

I believe the media is doing all Democrats a disservice -- this primary is not about winning the primary -- who care? It is about getting a candidate that will win the White House. Where is the analysis, done recently as Obama has stumbled, that shows his road map to the White House?

Senator Clinton has achieved her goal of further dividing the Democratic party along racial lines. If she won anything, that's what she won. Since she has worked vehemently to prove that so called "hard-working white voters" will only vote her and most have said they will never vote for a black man for President, she has effectively set our country back to 1960's. Since she has caused so much damage, I doubt if she or Bill could even begin to repair the damage they've generated. What good does it to her to win the battle and lose the war? Come On Democrats! We are all suppose to be on the same team and we need each other to move the country in a more positive direction. To the white working class voters, we need you and you need the votes of African Americans, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans and people of mixed heritage. Change begins within the hearts and minds of each individual. We need to closely examine any negative attitudes we may have been taught from childhood, stereotypes and myths we hold against people who are different from ourselves. It's time to mature America! We do not live in isolation in the world and we need to learn to communicate with each other on a higher level that we do at present. After experiencing the ignorance and racism in this nation, I really shouldn't be surprised at the comments of bigots within our political realm. What I had hoped is in 2008 we had become a little closer to erasing the weak-minded stupidity of the past.

What has really surprised me the most is the bigotry that exist in a party that I have supported all my life. No one would dare discuss the Holocaust in a trivial manner nor diminish the integrity of Jewish Americans, but African Americans are still fair game.

What I find very remarkable, is the severe ignorance that associated with assuming Obama is some way a Muslim, when he has openly confessed his Christian faith.

Whether we all realize it or not, we are all mixed with African American blood. Those same people who condemn and oppress ethnicity the most, are probably the product of an African American woman from our past.

This country was built on African American labor that was never paid for. So, if you are sliding back down the sick existence, remember this; your entire family is linked to the very people you condemn.

As an Clinton Supporter from West Virginia I would just like to ask all you super smart Obamabots how Obama is going to win in November when he looses W.VA, Ohio and FL.

He will loose for the same reason he lost in the primaries. Not because he is black, but because he has no plan, no experience and has an apeasment strategy towards Islamic fascism. He claims to be against a war that has transformed the ME creating 3 democracies where there were none. Keep in Mind that WV, OH and FL send many "bitter racist uneducated" men to the military to sacrifice and die for your right to insult them. Why should thier families vote for a man who says thier sacrifce was a mistake?

In all fairness, the Clintons have done a lot of good to the black comminity. Bill Clinton had overwhelming support from the black voters in 1992 and 1996.

This time you vote for Obama against the Clintons simply because he is 50% black. The reality is that you don't even know he is going to be as good to the black community as the Clintons had been.

WV is pretty much a hillbilly state. So it is no surprise that Hillary beat Obama because he is black. I think that is the message the hillbillys are sending here. But the question remains about whether these folks are really Hillary's folks. Will people who won't vote for a black guy vote for a female as Commander-in-Chief? The answer is no generally speaking. WV is very much a Democratic state but that may be changing this November. With Obama at the top of the ticket, WV will go Republican. However if Hillary were the nominee the state would probably go for her but not by the margin she had in the primary. I think Democratic loyalty will trump fear of a female Commander-in-Chief. After all, if the Muslims hit NY again, the hillbillys will be safe!

But Bill Clinton did more to destroy all of the benefits that Hillary could have gained from that when he deminished the weight of the Black vote in the early primaries. Barack Obama will never win in Appalachia - end of story. Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky have large Appalachian areas. West Virginia is entirely Appalachian. Residents of these areas are poorly educated and have limited access to information. The internet is not widely available and the reading level is well below the national average. Some areas don't have access to more than one televsiion or radio station.

Obama is judged solely by the color of his skin and not the content of his character. It is the same for all non-whites.

It is shameful, but a fact.

catch your breath, all. Obama was beaten fair and square in West Virginia. Voters there chose on the basis of race, ignorance of the issues, a belief in Clinton's honesty, and a belief that Obama is really the twin of Jeremiah Wright. Obama campaign workers were insulted by racial epithtets, had doors slammed in their faces, and profanities yelled at them over the phone. Is this really the heartland of America? If so, it's a far more heartless place than I want to live in. All in all, a triumph of viscera over brain. Just let the dust settle on those destroyed mountaintops and move on. Why don't you question the fact that many older white, low income white, and women voters support clinton because she is white and female? The hipocracy here is amazing. Bill Clinton didn't just do for the black community he did for the country which benefited us all not just the black community. So I guess everybody that benefited from Bill's administration should be compelled to vote for Hillary according to your logic. There were no questions when Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry got the majority black vote over black candidates. Now all of a sudden because blacks want to throw their support around a candidate that is new and fresh and not like Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson it is about race. Don't blame Clintons losses on the black community because the black population is minimal in comparison to the white. We have had nearly 30 years of Clinton or Bush on a ticket. He enjoyed popularity with black voters, but that's black voters doing something for Bill, not the other way around. Black voters did something for Bill Clinton when they voted for him, but Bill Clinton did nothing noteworthy for black voters in his years in office.

Bill Clinton only gained 37% of the white vote in 1992 and he only gained 41%in 1996. More white people voted for George Bush in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1996. Fortunately for Bill, he was running in a three man race in both elections, and combing that with his 83% black vote in 1992 and 84% in 1996 he won the White House. However, blacks always overwhelmingly support the Democratic candidate. That did not start with Bill Clinton, and did not end with him. We also gave overwhelming support to duds like Al Gore and John Kerry. The black vote is the most reliable vote in the Democratic electorate, and now that blacks finally field a candidate from their portion of the Democratic electorate, it's now white Democrats turn to show the same loyalty to the party that black Democrats have shown when voting for white Democratic candidates such as Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, etc.

Black Democrats vote for white Democratic candidates ALL THE TIME in Presidential elections. We're used to voting for candidates racially different from ourselves, and we don't make nearly as big a deal about it. This is the first time that white Democrats are being asked to support a racially different candidate in the Presidential election. As a black Democratic voter I find it somewhat annoying that white Democrats are having a hard time showing the same loyalty to our candidate that we've shown to past Democratic candidates in general elections. The onus is not on the black Democratic electorate to prove their loyalty to the party. We've demonstrated in the past that we don't have a problem putting a white Democrat in the White House. The onus is on the white Democratic electorate to show that their support is unconditional, and not based on race. Are white Democrats capable of doing what black Democrats have done in past elections....supporting the Democratic party even when the candidate is different from you? If Obama is kept out of the White House do to white voter racism, then that's not his problem, that's America's problem. Maybe then black Democrats will rethink gift wrapping their vote to a Democratic party that doesn't deserve their vote.

The fact that this is even an issue shows that the post-racial America is still just an idea, and not a political reality.

I guess we're seeing some POST-Wright, POST-San Francisco data, unlike the previous delegate selection for Obama -- do you think there w ould be a difference in the votes for Super Tuesday as well if the voting were to be revisited today? I guess the Obama camp cares more about getting the nomination than winning the General Election, or they would be looking at the statistics. The fallacy of your argument is the following:

(i) You are equating "the People" to the pledged delegates.

(ii) The pledged delegates were determined based on artificial math and they are no better than the superdelegates.

(iii) The race is still on and you have no idea who is going to win the popular vote in the end, particularly when Florida and Michigan are counted in.

Pandora, That is only one state AND the majority of those college-educated voters were born and raised in that same environment. I don't know where you're from but in most very rural areas, the kids tend to vote the same way Moma N Daddy N 'em vote!

I have seen the video.

Just so you know, anyone can take snipets of media--especially of the liberal kind--and put them together to spin it how you want.

I could take make a video of Hillary Clinton walking around Bosnia, waving at the crowd while people around her were being blown to smithereens--but wait--someone has already--so I don't have to waste my time.

If Dems are getting their political knowledge from YOU TUBE, then we are in trouble.

And for the record, how long do you think it would take for one of "our cities" to be attacked if we say back and did nothing while these Mid-East events played out.

Oh yeah, that's already happened too. I think it was New York, right?

I love the people who sit around in the safety of this country, PROTECTED BY OUR ARMED FORCES, having the time at their lesuire to question the manner in which they are protected.

You are the same type that--if we were being invaded--would scream that it was the Republicans fault that they didn't do enough.

You are free to sit on your computer and make your assessments because we are fighting against terrorists, and keeping this war over there and not over here. But withiout that threat being imminent on your own doorstep, I am sure you are to naive to see it.

Comparing the actions of the Clintons with Mcains desire to protect our country is almost out loud laughable.

And by the way, even if you could justly illuminate Mcain as a liar--which even Dems in congress don't do--it wouldn't excuse the behavior of the Clintons or what they've done in any way.

To wrongs don't make a right.

That's like saying you have a snake and a scorpion--would you like to be bit or stung?

If you can still morally support Hillary after all that has happened with them, then more power to you.

Do you remember when Bill Clinton won the first primaries an his deal to get Jesse Jackson to drop out. Jesse showed honor, respect and loyalty to the party and did drop out after meeting with Bill Clinton. What did Jesse recieve from the Clintons when they reached the white house? Did he get a cabinet post or some office that would help his carreer? No, he was forgotten so that the Clintons wouldnt loose to much respectibility with whites. I supported Bill Clinton in both runs for the white house and Al Gore for his run. But his treatment of Mr. Jackson was a horrendus disipointment. Yes, I would call them both racists by past deeds.

But in my bias opinion most people join the armed forces to get money to go to college, or because they just don't have training or education to do anything else. So not to disrespect my WV brethren who died for my freedoms, those who planned to go to college and died were among your brightest and those you don't plan to go and survived are among your uneducated. Superdelegates can change their mind all the way until the convention. Sorry charleschaplin...there's two problems with your General Election theory. One, the underlying assumption is that states that voted for Clinton will NOT vote for Obama, and that is a faulty assumption. True, states like WV are highly unlikely to vote for Obama in November, but there are other states that Clinton has won that would probably go to whoever the Democratic candidate is. Case in point would be the state of New York. New York hasn't been in the Republican column since Reagan. The second faulty premise is that Clinton would carry primary states she's won in the General Election. For example, let's look at Texas. Texas has not voted a Democrat into the White House since Jimmy Carter. Bill Clinton lost Texas TWICE in the General Election. The media went on and on about the Clinton's support in Texas, but how much does support in a primary mean if it doesn't pay off in the General Election?

That being said, we all just have to keep in mind that primary votes and primary support is different from the support given in the General Election. This applies equally to both candidates now running.

It is this win any way we can, by any excuse we come up with mentality that I am talking about.

1. It is not arifical math, It is what we go by. Pledged delegates are apportioned based on the percentage of votes a candidate recieves within that state--meaning it is based on how many people VOTED for them. You should learn more about how it works.

2. Even if Florida and Michigan were counted (and you could live with the fact that those were'nt even fair contests considering Obama's name wasn't even on Michigan--see above header) it is not going matter in terms of math--because she STILL can't catch up.

3. Based on that I remind you that Al Gore won the popular vote when he ran, and look what good that did him. Why? Because we elect our president based on delegates to keep the balance of population in order. i.e. California has a alot more people than say Rhode Island, and it gives us a better view of who the country voted for a whole, instead a few states overpowering the rest of the country.

HD41, Do yu understand what a RACIST is? Or more importantly how they operate? They catergorize everyone of a certain ethnicity into the same group. So Clinton saying that Obama won SC because he is Black like the majority of the voters is a racist statement. I don't however believe that he is a racist. I DO believe that he figured that he could help Hillary get more support from Whites who want to "keep Black folks in their place".

It is obvious that Obama is Brown. That dosen't have anything to do with anything.

In the next few days, the media that charted with glee Barack Obama's triumphal entry to Capitol Hill recently, will be largely focused on "Obama's vulnerabilities" in response to Clinton's big win in West Virginia. But let's not forget how she won and the dire implications of the Obama’s movement. The way the Clintons campaigned in Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia would have made Republicans real proud. No doubt, if the Republicans had adopted the same tactics, they would have been strongly condemned by Democrats. What the Clintons did amounted to incitement to rebellion based on raw class and racial sentiments. They appealed to the worse in us, and voters in these states responded affirmatively. Simply put, the Clinton logic is: vote for me because I am white running against this black man. Bill Clinton provided a detailed vaudevillian caricature (especially in rural districts) of how ugly it would be for a black man to be President. During the Clinton years (made possible largely because of black votes), Bill used to tell us about the need for "a more perfect union." This election circle, he could not stomach the idea that a black man (even one with a white blood in him) is about to win the Democratic nomination over a white woman (even a flawed one with very high negatives) thereby sabotaging the Clintons’ hope of a Second Coming--to the White House. What greater case can one make for hypocrisy and duplicity than this? Americans have come to know the Clintons better now--and blacks especially will never forget! Thank God, there is a new generation of Americans (the young, the educated, the middle class, the bulk of the liberal feminists and more), who want to turn the page from the old politics of division to a more enabling and ennobling politics. That is the greatness of America! Obama’s movement will bring new states to play in November, not just West Virginia. This movement opens up new and endless possibilities for Democrats so that much more can be accomplished in Washington with the positive energy of all people of goodwill across America and abroad—that is the true urgency of the moment!
