We heard that 90% + of blacks voted for Obama and more whites (although not nearly as high as 90%) voted for Hillary. Why were the implications of racism always discussed in the context of whites voting for Hillary and not blacks voting for Obama (even though this was the significantly larger number), can only whites cast racist votes, blacks are immune to this flaw? Or is this flimsy argument a cover for the real issue, another attempt to attack and discredit Clinton? Blaming her campaign and her supporters for ‘racist’ politics when the people casting this blame are practicing sexist politics. Just another, more insidious, wide-spread and sadly, more accepted, kind of ‘ism’.

The numbers also show ~ 50/50 split on women’s votes for Clinton and Obama, while more than half of men voted for Obama. OK…so why are the news bytes, ‘women support Hillary’? I think more telling is that men support Obama, but that is not what’s in the news. Curious. Instead the focus is on the racism of the ‘white’ vote for Clinton and the ‘women’s support’ for Clinton. Why aren’t the same questions and comments focused on Obama, i.e., the racism of the 90%+ black vote and the sexism of the majority male support? The answer to that ‘why’ is clear. When it comes to politics, it’s still a man’s world. Voting exit polls showed statistics that voters considered gender a ‘factor’ more than ‘race’. There is still an over-whelming, unfounded fear and distrust of the big, scary Vag. The 110th Congress is ~16% female (while women are 51% of the population), the 110th Congress is ~8% black (while blacks are ~13% of the population), the 110th congress is ~84% male, you get the picture don’t you? Playing the ‘race’ card against Clinton is just another weapon in the arsenal, a cover if you will, for the real issue, she’s a woman and for all the talk of CHANGE - well a woman president, that is just too much CHANGE for our country.

As we’ve seen in the past, popular vote means little. Other things, like whom holds the reins of power, determine who runs for our presidency and who is elected president. So far, I don’t see much of a CHANGE in anything.

I think Hillary Clinton lost because she is a woman. I think if the whole thing were to happen again, with the only difference being that Hillary Clinton was a man, not only would (s)he have won the nomination but (s)he would have walked away with the presidency. I also think the DNC must be out of their minds, controlled by emotions, bias and fear. I am now very afraid we (Dems) will not see a change of party in the White House. And no matter how fair or unfair you believe this primary has been, the loss of the White House in a year we should have walked with it, may be the last nail in the coffin for our country.

It rewards the candidates who go negative early and often, and it prevents the introduction of complex topics and discussions.

Voting for someone you fundamentally disagree with out of pure spite is childish. Look at the big picture here, this aint kindergaten. Obama and Hillary are practically the same candidate on the majority of the issues. If you supported Hillary you basically supported Obama. I dont remember ever hearing blacks say "If Obama loses, we're voting McCain!" Hell no, they'd be just happy Obama made it as far as he did. Even if there were cries of foul (which there would be no doubt) voting republican would be beyond idiotic. Think.

I must agree with you on one hand at teh media's constant attention to teh "white vote" or teh "woman vote" in an effort to show disdain toward Hillary. It's an obvious downfall of the consistantly bias media. In the same breath you would be equally silly to believe that they wouldn't sound equally as stupid to suggest that there is some kind of racist and/or sexist agenda to blacks and males voting for Barack Obama. Could you possibly fathom the idea that people who voted for him were in fact inspired by his message? Would it be racist for blacks to have pride in the fact that America is actually embracing one of thier own for the most prestigious posistion known to man? The racism that the media quotes is in fact obvious. The rural knuckleheads who wont vote for Obama have clearly expressed that is it simply because of his race. Clear racism point blank. Yet you suggest that blacks support of Obama is simply because of thier disdain for the "white woman"? Are you serious?

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely proud of the work that Sen. Hillary Radham Clinton does. Even more proud of the accomplishments that she has made in these primaries. The fact that we came out and voted for her is proof enough that she is worthy for the position. Nevertheless, we cannot let our anger over her loss blind us to the fact that another historic event overshadowed hers and relaity must set in at some time.

America embraced the idea of a female president and there are other woman politicians that also have an even better chance at winning than she did. Equally distasteful is the fact that there is no otherblack politicians (at this time) who stand a chance at the presidency the way that Barack does. Don't lose sight of the goals people. We must overthrow the republican party and thier continued efforts to keep the rich wealthy and the poor depressed. I guess the idea of doing just that while doing an overhaul of our political systems in general was a more compelling arguement for he people. (Come on now, dont you want to eat your cake as well?)

Obama's been promising change since the beginning; what better way to facilitate change than to shake up how the race is run? A town hall campaign would show voters the candidates want to hear the concerns of the average Joe and also be a good-faith gesture between the two candidates, showing each is committed to working across party lines once he becomes president. I hope to see the town hall format in the coming months of the election.

I have sent requests from my Hillary supporter list to join McCain's Team and so far I have been successful in having roughly 60% of them sign on to McCain. The others maybe will not join, or not had the chance to sign up yet. At this point, it's war against the Obama-Change Movement. He's that much closer to the Presidency and I will stress to all people I come in contact with the urgency of keeping him out of the White House. He's been successful in defeating Hillary, however, the battle with McCain will be much harder. I'll do all I can to keep this from happening and to save our nation. I hope others will follow. I encourage you not to be fooled by the Obama campaign, Bush and McCain are not the same. The lines are drawn now, and I urge you not to be swayed by the media, please explore McCain and vist his website and learn more before dismissing him.

Thanks All.

OBWan- McCain has always been my #2 choice you are correct. I'm a person who always has a plan "B" and he was always my plan B

I believed Hillary could keep the promises she made, and I do not have faith that Obama can do the same. I'm left to choose who I believe can do the job, while they have very different stands on issues, McCain has a plan for the economy, for the war and is a much more realistic choice given the current state of the nation. Before just choosing Obama, because the media makes it seem everyone is, I urge you to explore McCain by visiting his website.

I do encourage the town hall meetings, I believe that in debates McCain will prove to be a great candidate and I believe Obama has met his match. Obama never performed well in debates with Hillary, and I can't wait to see him squirm when face to face with McCain.

It's the general election now folks, this is serious business. The Democrats messed up picking a candidate who can't win, and just like you that support him who'll do all you can to gain support, I'll be on the other side working against you. Best of luck to all!

But please, everyone, McCain is not McSame. He deserves a fair shot just like anyone else. Please consider him.

I respect that. All I have ever asked is that everyone respect the candidates, do their research, and select the one that best represents the direction that they want to see in the country.

I, too, would like to see some sort of town hall type meeting. Not to see any candidate squirm, but to get the same information at the same time. You are correct this is a serious business, the governing of this great country. There are times in government, as in business, when a major change is required - this maybe one of those times.

I have no horse in the race and all the candidates deserve a look, including the lesser known parties (Green, Libertarian, Constitutional...)

Click the Blog button and see for yourself. You think I'm a hater, but you'll see there's many people who feel like I do and who will support McCain. Obama is in big trouble. I have to say, I do love it.

Go to Contact us and select unsubscribe from the drop down menu. In the upcoming months Hillary will be endorsing Obama and probably be using her contacts to reach you. Supporting Obama us just not an option for many of us, so you may want to unsubscribe. I just did.

It's really sad isn't it Hillary supporters? That it's come to this? We have to do what we have to do.

Hillary and McCain both opposing legalizing marijuana and ending the war on drugs.

Hillary and McCain both support the death penalty.

Hillary and McCain both recognize the threat that Iran poses -- and would have a military response to a nuclear attack on Israel. Obama wants to talk to terrorists and leaders of rogue nations -- without preconditions in the first year of his presidency.

McCain and Hillary both have a long history in U.S. politics -- voting for McCain or McCain isn't like buying a grab bag and hoping there is something good inside.

Hillary's platform has always been univresal healthcare -- Obama may be carrying that baton -- but the probability of that legislation passing is slim to none.

McCain isn't promising to withdraw the troops from Iraq BUT he also isn't promising to send troops to places like Darfur. The purpose of ending the war in Iraq should be to bring our troops home not to send them somewhere else.

And when called on it accuses Barack of divisive politics. Pointing out policy differences and falsehood is not divisive politics.

The myth of McCain the independent - Clinton voters please look carefully at this and dont be fooled.

- This guy votes opposite to Clinton 90% of the time the last 3 years

- Allows an introducer to use the "B" word against her on a campaign event (At least with BO you have to accuse the media and "supporters" but the man himself defended your candidate against the Bosnia gaffe - in the heat of battle not at the end like McCain is doing now.)

- has a $5000 tax credit as the main thrust of his health plan in a country in which I in a family of four pay $19000 per year and has no plans for the uninsured leaving us to again pay for it indirectly.

- Supports Bush's wiretapping program and interpretes the same way his excess encroachment of the constitution and democratic liberties.

A vote for McCain would totally screw up any chances, no matter how remote, of fixing our health care system. If a Democrat wins the White House, he will have a Democratic majority in Congress and chances are better that he could elicit change in a positive direction for health care, energy policy and a host of other domestic issues.

On Iran - We have no business fighting them. I don't care what the alleged "threat" is to Israel. Israel has nuclear weapons, thanks to the US. We give them more aid than any other country in the world. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER WAR IN A MAJOR COUNTRY LIKE IRAN. We do not have the budget for it. Do you want to bankrupt us completely, as well as our children and children's children and on into the next 20 generrations? And for what? So we could fight another "potential threat" with another unilateral war?

We should be taking our cue from Iran and diverging our nuclear power into a source for energy rather than weapons. Do not underestimate the intelligence of the Iranian people - they have a lrage population that needs nuclear power and I doubt seriously they will want another war. We (the US) already funded them and their enemy Iraq with weapons during the Iran-Iraq War that lasted about a decade. We are the main reason the Middle East has nuclear power.

"Have a nice dayyyyy!"

He's shorter, dumber and less articulate and has the forced charm of Bush Jr. in that hideous little laugh he pushes out of his throat when he's really pissed off.

McCain is no competition, I don't care which way they go. Plouffe was probably just feeling sorry for McSame when he procrastinated on the idea of the townhalls. He couldn't believe the guy would want to get creamed so early on in the race.

I say let 'em wait until Sept. We're all going to get sick of the politics and neither of them has a good substantive program worked out for their potential administrations. Let them have some time to work out details and formulate specifics to their plans in Office. No more shallow b.s. sessions!
