John McCain seems to think he can charm the voters but he's no Ronald Regan. His soft voice is a technique he learned to help him control his temper. The Carter comparison is weak and won't carry any weight. I'm old enough to remember the Carter years but smart enough to know that Obama is much better than that and much better than McCain. The "maverick" is just another phony title that was created by fans of McCain and not one that he deserves. More fitting is his high school nickname of McNasty.

How dare McCain go there! Obama is the breath of fresh air this country needs to lead us into a new world economy. McCain has supported the very platform that has nearly destroyed our economy. I know Obama will bring true change to this country.

Hasn't anyone noticed that McCain over the last several years has become an ex-maverick? He may have been a maverick when he ran in 2000, but, I presume in the interests of becoming a more acceptable Republican candidate, he has fallen into line on almost every issue. He is still riding the wave of his reputation as a maverick, but if you look, he no longer has a valid claim to that label.

Shouldn't these so-called 'articles' count as financial contributions from Newsweek to the Democrats? I can remember when Newsweek used to be a respectable 'news' magazine. Now they're just a liberal Democrat newsletter.

Even in a week with the best news media coverage Obama is likley to get, he is barely a few percentage points ahead of McCain.

He is badly behind among White men, 40 per cent of the electorate.

If McCain is even half-competent, Obama is done for.

What good would it have done for Hillary to have won the nomination? Then we would just have 2 candidates to compare to BUSH/CHENNEY/ROVE.

As for the desperation that permiaties the McLilBush supporters, it's hysterical.
