But what the paper doesn't mention is that one of this year's White House hopefuls is already the heavy favorite to win. Cannon of Utah found out the hard way? Not every American citizens agree with that situation? Senator Obama already promised he would give the 30 + million of illegal aliens, squatting in this nation... AMNESTY? His counterpart McCain will do likewise, to get the vote in November. Americans must pass the SAVE ACT before this happens.

Afterwards will be too late for overburdened taxpayers, who will have to support foreign nationals already not feeding from state and federal welfare programs. Plus millions more waiting behind our worthless border, will think it's 'open day' for the third world countries and they will want to join the line for free benefits. They might like to start in California first, cause they give out government handouts like hard candy, that's why their on the edge of bankruptcy.

If it's something to do with enforcing our immigration laws, the special interest lobby will crawl out of the sewers to stop its enactment. Just like the SAVE ACT (H.R.4088) a Federal bill, the laggard Democrats don't want voted into law. Rep.Cannon of Utah, lost his bid as an incumbent, mainly because he pandered to the pro-open-borders special interest lobby. Corruption has manifested itself, as house Speaker Nancy Pelosi has used intimidation to stop her cohorts from endorsing this legislation.

Ice has a free Tipline: 1-866-DHS-2ICE for intelligence to locate illegal aliens, or predatory businesses that employ them.

Under this strictly enforcement law predatory employers would be arrested, fined and possibly imprisoned and millions of illegal aliens would leave of their own accord. It would give (ICE) more funding and build the US border patrol up to 20.000 more agents in strength, build the fence as originally intended. This national law would also begin to remove criminal aliens from our society. It would give extra teeth to all immigration laws now on the books.

Demand the anti--illegal immigration SAVE ACT! (2022243121 ) Unsuppressed details at www.numbersusa.com.

Certainly, for security reasons, we need to control our borders, although the Bush administration has been no more successful at that since 9/11 than they, or prior administrations, were before. The necessity is for security screening, not for excluding productive workers. By denying technology companies visas for scientists and engineers, our stupid Republican government creates "outsourcing of critical scientific jobs to other countries (India, in particular), and weakens the economy and defence capability of our nation.

It has now become essential for us to elect intelligent, knowledgeable, capable people to replace the current administration. Blaming "foreign nationals" for the problems we create for ourselves is just a pathetic denial of reality.

The Republicans aren't really stupid enough to believe their own propaganda, but they do believe they can dupe the voters with it one more time.

I will be glad when hispanics wake up and stop listening to the negative remarks about the republicans. Was it a democrat or a republican who kept the vietnam war going. Think about it.

Everybody has had a bad moment in their life but did not stop living and go to sleep somewhere waiting for the government to feed them. What I am trying to say if you do not want the illegal aliens to come to this country to work then make the loosers go to work. How many hispanics to you see at any of the mentioned sleeping places. ZERO. Hispanics will work.

They have forgotten the economic needs of the middleclass and the poor , which the vast amount of hispanics fall into. Their claim to fame has been their anti - Castro sentiment and free market rhetoric. I think the chickens have come home to roost and the Hispanics know that they ( Republicans) don't care about anybody that is not rich. We are paying the price for corporate greed in all arenas of our economy and is unchecked by our last defense, the government. We need a policy that realizes " We the People" are the backbone of this country and a government that will stand up for us.

THEY FLATLY REFUSED TO LISTEN. I have spoken DIRECTLY with many Congressmen and Senators in D.C. but they never took this issue, or Latinos, seriously. The anti-immigration rhetoric offended all Latinos, who are only one or two generations removed from an immigrant - most especially the vitriolic language spouted by their leaders like minority leader, John Bohner, who calls them "criminal aliens" and calls for them to be "hunted down" like dogs. I warned them for 3 election cycles now that their rhetoric was ultimately self-defeating. I told them that the short-term gain with their base would eclipse the long-term detriment with the emerging power swing voters (Latinos). They failed to believe, but will come November. Enjoy your walk in the wilderness, boys!

The Free and Equal Elections Coalition (FREE) and the Columbia Political Union are pleased to announce that a Presidential debate will be held this coming Sunday, October 19th, 2008, on the campus of Columbia University.

ALL SIX of the Presidential candidates who appear on enough state ballots to acquire the 270 Electoral Votes needed to become President are invited. They are as follows (listed in alphabetical order by affiliation):

Constitution Party Candidate: Chuck Baldwin

Democratic Party Candidate: Barack Obama

Green Party Candidate: Cynthia McKinney

Independent Candidate: Ralph Nader

Libertarian Party Candidate: Bob Barr

Republican Party Can John McCain

The Columbia Political Union will present the debate from 8:00pm to 10:00pm in the Altschul Auditorium, located at 417 International Affairs Building. The debate will be moderated by Pacifica Radio's Amy Goodman, the host of "Democracy Now!". CSPAN will cover the debate, and live radio broadcasts are expected.

"The Columbia Political Union is committed to energizing political discourse on Columbia's campus," said Allon Brann, Columbia Political Union Publisher. "As a non-partisan organization, we work to provide students with opportunities to encounter and engage with political ideas across a wide ideological spectrum, and on a wide range of issues."

"It is with these goals in mind that we have organized this Presidential Debate: to give all candidates-- either within or outside of the political "mainstream"-- the opportunity to speak directly to students about their goals on the issues they deem critical for this country."

"We have invited all eligible candidates, and it is our sincere hope that all will participate, to ensure the substance and rigor of the dialogue which we believe is crucial at this time."

Certified letters officially inviting each candidate have been sent to the respective campaigns.

The Free and Equal Elections Coalition and the Columbia Political Union await the response from the candidates. All candidates' supporters are encouraged to contact the Presidential campaigns and urge them to attend.

The Columbia Political Union seeks to enhance involvement in the political process, domestic and international, and draw every member of the campus community into an ongoing discussion of political ideas.

FREE is a coalition of political parties, independent citizens and civic organizations formed to promote free and equal elections in the United States.
