Whoever John McCain chooses will be carefully selected and have the knowledge needed. It's very simple I trust John McCain. He has the utmost respect from our military, which is something we must keep in mind until the radical extremists call off their religious crusade.

Second, we must not give in to bigger government and higher taxes. Big government programs have proven to be inefficient and in most cases bankrupt. Look to what they did to social security. A big government program will simply never be able to manage a pie-in-the-sky healthcare effectively. In order to make healthcare affordable, we need to stop the out of control malpractice suits that hinder every doctor and healthcare provider. We also need to offer tax incentives for the small business owner who does insure his employees; not tax them more than they're already being taxed. John McCain, you've got my vote!

Pour a gallon of anti-patriotism into tall glasses and sprinkle with naïve foreign policy ideations. Doesn't sound like Portman has the national security experience necessary to be president. He'd be better off picking Natalie Portman.

Since the male members of Senator McCain's family have a tendancy to die early from heart disease (both his father and grandfather died before their 71st birthdays of heart diseaes) and since Senator McCain was a two pack-a-day smoker for much of his adult life (smoking is one of the leading causes of heart disease), along with three bouts with cancer, whoever he picks had better be able to step in as president from day one.

Some of the comments here reflect what is wrong with American politics. Let's discuss the issues instead of spewing vile, hatemongering comments. Right wingers, left wingers, or whomever. Hate should have no place in our selecting presidents. Unfortunately, too many persons make decisions based on a narrow, narrowminded approach to things. I haven't made up my mind about how i'll vote, but ignorant spewings will not convince me one way or another. Especially ones who seem to be all about race.

All I can say is that MCCain had better get on the band wagon and start talking about the pertinent issues rather than spending his time attacking!! He also needs to talk to Americans, not Latin Americans either!! The people that he professes will vote for him, many of the ones that he needs are the wrong ones to aggravate by trying to promote more free trade. Duhhhhhhh!!! That is why most of them have lost their jobs. He should be here talking to our honest to goodness voters!!!

Does this take rocket science or what????

the kool-aid recipe is the reason you should not vote for him it sums up his reasons for running and if you think he's qualified to be president then you have been slipped a micky so to speak someone slipped you some obama kool-aid check his record his votes but most important check his agenda and ask your self is this who i want to run the country ! think about his tax plan think about his willing to give free health care to 15 million illeagles think about his forgien policy or lack there of think about all his plans and if you feel like he's the one take some ipecac syrup because you've ingested his kool-aid then go vote for someone who will get this country back on track i prefer the John McCain/ Mitt Romney ticket hopfully thats who will win the election in november if Obama gets it we are gonna have a hard row to hoe !!

Portman has a long history of national service for a man who I don’t believe is quite yet 50. He was a Congressman and Director of OMB and US Trade Representative. He can speak cogently and convincingly on the economic issues that will dominate the campaign and will provide a powerful rationale for McCain’s pro-trade bias. A bias that, by the way, is in line with the interests of one in five American workers. That he was associated with the Bush Administration is a minor distraction. His own humble Midwestern charisma and his popularity within Ohio will quell much of that. He is from rural south east Ohio where all those anti-Obama Appalachians live.

Portman will also be aided by the coming re-assessment of Bush’s Presidency. As things have improved on Iraq, as gas prices fall due to the growing impetus to drill, and the economy continues to show signs of picking up, Bush’s standing may get a second look.

I think he would add gravitas on important non-foreign policy issues while burnishing the ticket’s appeal to values based voters.
