Definitely representing the old and past! But it was truthful, because that what we would get with a McCain presidency! The same ole staus quo politics! I'm so very sick of it! And I do believe Obama will provide the change we need and the change we can believe in!

Many of those protestors in the sixties have filled up the penal institutions because they do not want to follow the rule that everybody else follows. Is Obama in that group. Many of those protestors have never grown up, still unemployed and wanting the government to provide them with everyday necesities. If you look under a bridge or on a downtown sidewalk you will see them sleeping waiting for a handout. At least McCain served his country which many cowards refused to do. The way I understand Ad Hawk he prefers a hippie with long dirty hair, dirty clothes and with no ambition over some one who has served his country honorably. An American should never be ashamed to say that he served his country, If you look down on an American becaused he has served so you could give your give your lousy point of view on the web, then you have a big problem. Go to your local cemetery and tell all the military buried there that what they did was wrong.. You don't have the courage to do that. Get on the wrong side of the street and vote for Obama.

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

While there's nothing wrong with remembering the past . . . to dwell on it is not what America is looking for. We need to be looking forward, we need someone with a vision, someone who can lead this country on the right path with new ideas and policy.

And to bring up the "hippy era" is to bring up Vietnam, the protests, & a government that was not truthful. This is a terrible idea by the McCain team and justs show they are lost in trying to out-smart Obama. They are greatly underestimating Obama and it will cost McCain.

He is pushing 50. It is hard to believe that these college kids go "goo goo" over their dad's 50 year old friends. Obama is old enough to be their parents! He is an older man with young children.

Did communism come to America?

So now McSAME is bringing up a failed war in Vietnam that we never should have been involved with in the first place, and a war that was created from lies.

SHADES OF IRAQ!

So let me get this straight, McCain is comparing Iraq to Vietnam. I agree with that, they are both bad wars based on lies that never should have occurred.

And let me ask you this, how come Bush (and McCain supported Bush) was able to misdirect the entire USA into Iraq when the real enemy (Osama Bin Laden) isn't even there?? Obama mentions Bin Laden but McCain is clueless as to who the real enemy is. McCain simply wants to be at war with everyone. He doesn't even need a real reason.

The difference between Obama and McCain is, McSAME wants us in Iraq for 100 years even though the Iraqi gov tells us to send our boys (and girls) home!

I AM a baby boomer. I remember Vietnam. I protested against it. And today, I am protesting against McCain. McCain is a war monger who still thinks he is living in the 1960s.

McCain has no vision of the future, only flashbacks of the past. He will keep us in (multiple) bad and unnecessary wars and push this country further into an economic depression.

In April of 2007, McSAME said on tape that he "doesn't know much about the economy." How is THAT for scary?

He would vote against choice for women. He doesn't understand that even if we drill for oil in this country, it would be decades before we would see any even minimal benefit. And good lord, all the nuclear plants he wants to build. Where does he intend to put the waste that never ceases to be dangerous? Not in my back yard!

We need a fresh start. New sources of energy. New sources for president. Not the tired OLD McSAME.

Unfortunately some people never grow up (see some of these self proclaimed "baby boomer" comments).

The facts are:

1) International relations and events are the results of *decades* of policy. I just don't trust someone with a limited track record to deliver in a time of change. Much of what Obama is saying is just not grounded on reality. Its made for domestic consumption and in reality will be unworkable on the international stage.

The world is moving more towards private enterprise- that's where all the competition is coming from. Obama's policies are *reactionary* throw back to "big" government. The world is going in a different direction- the progress made overseas are by countries leaving the big government, centralized political philosophy and embracing private entreprise. This is TURE. Why are we so uninformed?

2) Anyone that saw McCain run against Bush in 2000 (that is anyone over the age of 8) knows that these are two very different men. Very different. The "McSame" Smear (and it is a smear) is thin propoganda, pure and simple. It is one reason why you should not trust its proponents. The people that persist in smearing Jon McCain are more than happy to base their case on smears, *yet* they claim the high ground. It's intellectually dishonest, something the media should do a little more to investigate.

There is a similarity in political philosophy of small government (although I'm not sure Bush is philosophical about anything). On the issues where McCain agrees with Bush, how many others in government also vote similarly??? That's an interesting question because you'd be hard pressed to say they are all "the same". Its a thin, limited case. Repetition does not equate truth. It is rather the definition of propaganda.

3) McCain is the only one who has used the term "federalism", which actually moves the debate towards substance. The question on division of power between the state and the individual is the basis of American political identity. It is a theme that needs to be reexamined *every* election cycle. It was pertinent in the 18th century. It is pertinent to today. Can you see where I'm headed? This debate should never be considered "of the past".

McCain is being TRUTHFUL when he professes to limited knowledge of the economy. The people that express shock are just uneducated in the central debate of our form of government. Obama has NEVER been in the private sector. NEVER. (um, 2 summer jobs??) It is untruthful for him to pose as some sort of expert. The Presidency is a *federal* institution. Obama wants $50 million in federal spending to help men become "better fathers". That to me is extremely scary. Where does the role of the federal government to stop? If you want to get substantive, McCain has the right approach.

Sounds like you are smoking yourself! You are the looser being that you have to look closer to something that is not there. Obama in a muddy field. Please stop being stupid!!

Perhaps some of the words spoken by Obama were when he was on drugs as he admits in his book. His brain might be a little cooked. Is that why he is changing his mind on issues all the time? I thought he might just be lying but now I just believe that he forgets what he said last week and comes up with a new stand on an issue. Like, he's now trying to be a conservation Christian. He also has his "presdential seal" and is already redecorating the Lincoln Bedroom. Is that arrogance, his ego or just that his brain is not functioning properly because of previous drug use?

===========================================================================

I have been wondering that also. To me he doesn't seem so much to be flip-flopping as hopschotching all over the place. I agree with you that it just appears that he forgot what he said before.

Brain cells do not regenerate and marijuana is known for short-term memory loss and don't even get me started on what coke can do to you! (Why is he always sniffing and having to blow his nose? Doesn't coke destroy the lining of your sinuses, causing it to run?)

I can't help but wonder if that is his problem with all the stuttering and stammering if there isn't a teleprompter with a speech somebody wrote for him in front of him?

No Obama for me!

I can't even begin to imagine the pains you go through in your life digging up "dirts" on people you don't agree with just for political positioning or personal aggrandisement.

A small-mind, Lulubelle is restrictive in nature to the amount of information and kinds of issue it can process and on what intellectual level. A small mind is impervious to reason. A youthful experience does not predispose one to a particular trait in life. It's called youthful exuberance, and in case that is too intellectual for you, it's a fleeting experience, a fad that goes away with time. If this election and all its attributes prove a challenge for you to process, then do yourself a favor and crawl back into your cocoon and let the open-minded ones deal with the issues in this election. The bitterness you feel seems to emanate from a deep seated disappointment one feels for the failure of their choice candidate, but grow up and move on or else this type of rancour will do a number on you. This election is about ISSUES, like the economy, national security, foreign policy and America's standing in the world, AND NOT personal attack on the candidates' teenage years.

I am a babyboomer. A swing voter, and every time I hear something that Obama has"Always said", or he has"Never supported". Yet vote for him, and "Everything" will change......Starting to get the picture?

He speaks in absolute's, and that is the worst strategy of all.

The media has fallen in love with him, and the only thing left to accomplish is his coronation.

Why are you convinced that he can change the Constitution?

What kind of change will he unleash on the unsuspecting masses?

Why do you denegrate McCain's lifetime of service to something far greater than any single man or woman?

Something for you to remember........ANY breathing Demacrat ought to have won the last election. Yet Kerry lost. How is that for Retrograde?

Today, McCain still rants and raves that the Vietnam War was necessary and the correct thing to do!

I remember "the politics of fear" was ever present during this time too!

Communism will destroy us; communism will take over our nation, our families will be mudered- blah blah!

How ironic that the U.S.' largest trading partner today is China. Senator you do know that they are communists?

Yeah McCain was wrong then and he still carries that failure of yesteryear on his shoulders today!

McCain is also wrong about giving consent for the Iraq war.

Somehow were supposed to believe because the greatest military on the face of the earth is eventually able to subdue an insurrection that it makes the war righteous? No way McCain- the hippies were right!

Maybe the revolution didn’t take place in the 60’s but it may finally manifest itself with the dumping of the GOP and their iconic warrior John McCain, this November!
