Bravo, Andrew!

It is a theme: McCain the Maverick is actually McCain the Panderer. You can pretend to be all things to all people as a Senator, but as a president, you actually have to take positions, and those positions have to be sensible and coherent.

It's fun to be a maverick, but it's impossible to be one and lead 300 million people. They need leadership, not sound bites.

To say the least this does not make McCain look very credible. He should think before he talks. But if he deliberately says these things then he will be a problem in the White House. It would appear he is saying what is convenient. Too bad.

Then, there was that time that he couldn't remember Mrs. Mc Cain's name. Thought he was in his favorite brothel, I guess. I can't bear to say that name that he called her again.

His brain is freezing up. I guess we can say, if he is elected, that we were voting to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Haven't had a disabled president since Roosevelt. If I had to choose between being wheelchair bound but intelligent, alert and articulate and brain dead, I would go for the wheelchair again.

McCain repeatedly demonstrates a reality-denial streak that contradicts his self-styled "straight talk" persona. Romano didn't even mention the most significant example: when asked about the Iraqi PM's call for a US troop withdrawal timetable, the cognitive dissonance is too much for McCain. He can't even seem to comprehend what al Maliki plainly said.

Its comedy central at McForget land these days...just watching that interview made my skin crawl. A real soldier hero wouldn't need to keep tramping up his heroics every chance he gets. Even if he had gotten the teams right, it was nauseating watching him and plastic Cindy giggling and pandering to the Steelers as the first thing he thinks of when you say Pittsburgh. His chief economic adviser apparently does not speak for him all of a sudden. He is "inadequately informed" about his anti contraception vote despite Viagra getting some insurance coverage...this just hours after his OTHER chief advisor Fiorina claimed McCain supported the very thing he voted against but couldn't remember. I am getting tired of typing the laundry list of insanity...in just one week.

I loved the Steeler thing. As a lifelong/ diehard Steeler fan, I couldn't remember the names of the line from back then because they were an awful team and no one paid any attention to them. But McCain is "straight talk". He can't lie. He "McCains". When you or I lie, it's a lie, but when McCain lies, it isn't a lie, right? It's a "McCain." His campaign just says "yeah, he lied-- so what?" So his 'base' is the extremely stupid, where Bush's base is the painfully wealthy. Remember-- the next time you cheat on your spouse and don't tell the truth about it, it isn't a lie-- it's a McCain! He was still married to his first wife when he took out his marriage license to marry his wealthy mistress.

Let us recap:

Bill Clinton- Very likeable, great speaker, master liar...

George W,- Used to be likeable, awful speaker, terrible liar...

John McCain- Likeable, mis-speaker, can't remember if he is lying or not...

Barack Obama- Extremely likeable, amazing speaker, master of high expectations (destined to be a great liar)...

Bottom line is the president is going to lie to us....they all do. I'd rather have someone in the White House who is good enough at it so that I don't know what is going on. Bush was awful at it and his REAL policies were completely transparent (to some of us at least). It is one thing to be completely corrupt, but to be so bad at trying to cover it up and STILL get away with it makes me cry that that man is still in office and the American people haven't rioted in the streets and toppled this inept regime. A McCain presidency would be even worse. He can't even keep up with what he has actually done. How will he ever keep up with the lies?

I gotta go with Obama. At least he might get away with his lies...

Do we want honest, smart and ready for the job or do we end up with old, run down, forgetful at best, mean and dishonest at worst. America needs a leader who will be an example of decency and honor. Obama will govern with a fair perspective. We don't want an old guy who panders and can't keep his pandering straight.
