When the “Cold War” was concluding and the big question of what to do with our huge military/industrial complex came to Senator Nunn, He said: “We can use the military to help the poor.” Well the Empire Builder crowd went nuts and stopped any such effort.

Hosea Williams, Dr. King's right hand man, so believed in Sam Nunn he campaigned for a Nunn/Bentsen ticket in 92. Imagine! Had Rev. Williams had his way, today we would be 16 years stronger. But, no, instead we got 16 years of Clinton and Bush.

Then, after all seemed lost, the "Obama Phenomena," so it may not be over after all. With Sam Nunn as President Obama’s Vice President, our country can find our way to peace while utilizing the military/industrialist for sustaining life. Rather than: spending such massive effort and treasure on killing our fellow human beings. This is the positive way to end the reign of the Empire Builders now commanding the U.S. military.

Vote Obama/Nunn. And, the world can, at long last, give peace a chance.

Governor under Mark Warner for 4 years, which is, in VA, an elected statewide office. So Kaine has served in a statewide office for 6 and a 1/2 years, not 2 1/2, Mr. Romano.

I have a faith-based opposition to abortion. As governor, I will work in good faith to reduce abortions by:

1. Enforcing the current Virginia restrictions on abortion and passing an enforceable ban on partial birth abortion that protects the life and health of the mother;

2. Fighting teen pregnancy through abstinence-focused education;

3. Ensuring women's access to health care (including legal contraception) and economic opportunity; and

4. Promoting adoption as an alternative for women facing unwanted pregnancies.

It is not palatable. Words like "partial birth abortion" rather than late term and an emphasis on "abstinence-focused education" and the language of radical so-called "right-to-lifers."

Also, anyone who belongs to Democrats for Life can hardly be termed pro-choice. Kaine may be willing to compromise on some things but that sort of weasely compromise hardly constitutes a pro-choice position.

I would hate to loose Kaine as Governor of Virginia for two or three reasons, the least of which is that their is a Republican Vice Governor who will take over for him, and this state DID NOT vote Republican for the top office. Its always been a dumb way to select the two top leaders in Virginia, and this one would certainly show that weakness.

As one who supported Republicans from the age of 12 (I stumped for Ike) I have seen the party go further and further to the right, until it has become extremest. The Democrats, who were quite left-leaning at one point, have steadily move right also, until they can be consider moderates (as a party). That is what we need - MODERATE government - unafraid of real changes - not willing to allow a few far-right religious leaders dictate rules of law - people who are willing to stand up and say that the middle class must be protected from the wingers of both parties. I can only hope Obama will be one of these. I know that McCain is a war hero (as was every other POW- and most who were not POWs as well). But, that does not make him any more qualified for president than anyone else running.

Kaine certainly doesnt have federal office experience. Neither did Truman - and HE wasnt afraid to do what had to be done, when the office fell into his lap.

We watched Countdown with Keith Olberman this evening and watched the news that your name has been bantered about as a VP choice for Sen. Obama.

It seemed that you and the Senator could make a GREAT team until I read on the internet that you supported a marriage amendment. As the debate over marriage equality plays out accross our country, Robert and Ihave come to appreciate good democrats could agree to disagree about the way couples like us can be treated equally under the law.

A federal marriage amendment and and the discriminatory state amendments strip away our dignity and self respect and take away all the benefits we worked so hard for.

This is where couples like Robert and myself draw the line. This is where the bar is set for us.

If you in your heart as a democrat can support such legislation we CANNOT and WILL NOT vote for Senator Obama if your name is on the ballot with him.

Obama is the biggest used car salesman (with a nice smile and good delivery) the media has EVER tried to shove down America's throat.

McCain is the better man by a long shot and he is SO much more qualified than the used car salesman liberals are trying to scam American with. Listen to the idiots who try to portray Obama as some sort of American hero. Absolutely laughable hen you compare him to McCain.

McCain decided to serve his country (yes, in politics) after he was tortured for his country in a North Vietnamese prison. 99.99999% of people in the US have never been though his situation. And those who downplay that will pay for it. Obama's life compared to McCain's was a pampered life, praised by black bigots. "Huh?..Whaa?.... How could there be black bigots....and how could Mr. Obama like bigots?"

You see, here is another fact some Americans have forgotten.....McCain never had a close "20 year relationsip" with a bunch of racist friends like Obama has, no matter what liberals will try to claim just because McCain is on the GOP ticket. The "good reverand" Jeremiah Wright is a bigot, no different from Archie Bunker or David Duke. This is what American's are really talking about at the water cooler folks. Believe it. And Wright's close friend is Louis Farrakhan, THE biggist racist in America. And OBAMA'S church gave Farrakhan a Lifetime Achievement Award. Birds of a Feather, folks.... Listen carefully.

Hello? Look, most Jews and many Hillary fans will not vote for Obama. That's very simple. And the media's love fest will eventually kill Obama's campaign. (and gee....the TV spots about his racist friend, Rev. Wright, are not even on yet) The debates are also going to be fun to watch. McCain will win it right there. Watch.

America was indeed fooled by the CIA on Iraq.....and now some Americans are falling for the used car salesman supported by far-lefters. Hey...uh...where's Hillary and Bill? MIA, folks. You see them lately?

Remember, this is the same nation that re-elected an unpopular George W. Bush in 2004....during....an unpopular war. - McCain will win in November.

They are great. I like the rectangular one the best. I have been giving them out to others. I wear the "Veterans for Obama button." I hoping to inspire those who are still on the fence by showing that the war cooked up by the REPUBLICAN party, using phony evidence that has directly caused the deaths of thousand of our young women and men, who wont get to enjoy being a Veteran like myself, How dispicable can a political party be to sacrifice our soldiers just to cover up the misdeeds of their leaders? How does one separate a supporter and their candidate? isn't a person who would support this evil act just as complicit?

Your thinking is so refreshing in comparison to the mouth-breathing right who want McCain to choose a cave dweller.

Alaska for his veep. A man he called Mr. honesty yesterday. Ted's going to be available you know. The Senator has been pushing everyday on the Senate floor for opening what's left of our off shore leases to the oil companies who have millions of acres on and off shore they are refuse to explorie. they don't have any intention to explore these either. They just want the rights to every acre they can get their greedy hands on.

Teddy stevens said he was doing his best for the American People. Isn't that special?

Why wont Teddy be available? because he'll be in prison for fraud and tax evasion. You see Mr. Honesty had a few minor repairs done on his home and the construction was paid for by an OIL company.

The minor repairs? They raised his home up and added a new first floor under it making the former 1st floor the second floor. He failed to report this minor repair. must have slipped his mind while he was doing his best for all of us.

The Republicans would sink an oil well in the middle of President Kennedy's grave in Arlington National Cemetary if they though there was any oil there.

I think Kaine would bring lot of strenth to the ticket and I'm not talking about ocming from the same place or Kaine being Southern and white. He has governed a state and that gives him solid experience as an executive. It means that he has had to exercise judgment on real problems, something that Obama is weak on Ias is McCain, by the way). He is Catholic but open to pro-choice values. He spoke of opposing late-term abortions with exceptions for the life AND HEALTH of the mother, which would reassure pro choice voters although it might drive the bishop of Colorado Springs into a state of apoplexy because he favors excommunicating people who vote for folks like Kaine.

In short, why not Kaine?

All whites are not inocent in racism some of them will never vote for a black man no matter what is at stake!Mcain is a sexist pig he never wanted equal pay for women. Black people have a reason to be recist they have been discriminited forever and still today from people like mcain and his supporters. The republican party is a racist! and you know what you are a racist! Black have been slaves and have been tourtcherd so may years if white had to experience that they would know what black went through. White have it all made out for them so you know how it feels! Black's and whites dont have equal pay. Also during crimes if a black person kills a white person they get more of a sever punishment than if it was the oppsite. America is filled with racist people black and white. Mcain a pure dog for cheating on this first wife with the barbie doll young enough to be his daugher.Mcain has no morale. He is just a namesake christian I bet he doesnt beileve in god, I think he is a nostic. Atleast obama has good solid family values. WELL, WELLl, WELL ...seems a NEW#1 BESTSELLER is on the stands. Obama Nation...by..Dr. Jerome Corsi Ph.D(remember the swiftboats???... Here is what Dr. Corsi says............................

Dr. Jerome Corsi told Sean Hannity yesterday that he has tapes of Barack Obama campaigning for his COUSIN, Raila Odinga, in Kenya back in 2006.

Odinga's trying to overthrow the US-backed government of democratically-elected President Mwai Kibaki, so he can institute sharia law (fundamentalist merging of religion and state) in Kenya.

Obama campaigned for Odinga as a sitting United States Senator, where he spoke in front of crowds with his cousin Odinga:

There's a natural train of logic here that could be very damaging for Obama in the general election if Corsi actually does possess footage of Obama's Kenyan campaign tour:

(1) Odinga's supporters are determined to overthrow the Kenyan government, so his campaign appearances would address that as his chief goal.

(2) By nature of wanting to overthrow the Kenyan government, Odinga's supporters are anti-American, since the Kenyan government is US-backed (and at least partially reliant on the US for stability).

(3) A successful campaign by Odinga would mean making anti-American statements, coupled with anti-Kenyan government statements, at campaign stops to rev up his followers.

(4) Obama appeared at campaign rallies with Odinga in Kenya, for Odinga's followers.

(5) Obama has a proven track record of telling people exactly what they want to hear (see: San Francisco liberals re: bitter, gun-clinging Midwesterners; Ohio voters re: NAFTA; the Canadian government re: NAFTA; the liberal netroots re: FISA, campaign finance reform, you name it).

You know where this is going.

If Obama's audience wanted to hear anti-American remarks, and Odinga always obliged these people, then Obama, with Odinga, at a campaign rally like this, as a sitting US Senator, well, fill in the blank. Or, go read Corsi's book. Or, just wait for the tapes.

Should be interesting. BUT WHAT THE HECK....They were only Christians...RIGHT???

NOBAMA!!!

Polls, however, have shown that an Obama ticket has a much better edge over McCain when Clinton is on it. (Although the polls I have seen compare the Obama-Clinton ticket to a McCain-Romeny ticket...too many variables at play to be decisive..).

Before these polls, however, back in May, Dr. Tantillo ('the marketing doctor'), who has a blog on branding ( http://blog.marketingdoctor.tv ) did a post arguing against the idea of an Obama-Clinton ticket--positing that from a branding perspective, it makes no sense, and actually wouldn't be a good move for Clinton's brand, either.

"Because of the length of this primary fight, brand identity and loyalty to brand have become central. What this means is that a kind of brand mutual exclusivity has set in."

Not sure if I agree or if this idea still holds at this point, but it is a compelling argument - (and one that I at least think goes a long way toward explaining Obama's hesitation to choose Clinton as his running mate.)
