I agree with willnotvoteabama, I don't feel he is the right person to fill this position. I'm not saying he never will be I am saying he has no true track record as a leader and that leaves me filled with doubt about his ability to run this nation. His past/current associations also calls his own ability to make good judgement calls now. I'm wondering how many more mice will come out from under his house in 4 years time. Flip/Flop on many many issues that he initially appeared to be firm on. This is not the position to learn how to make mistakes, also if he gets elected and he fails what does that mean for the next african american presidential hopeful?

I strongly agrees with the previous posting that Obama is not thr right person to be our next president. I seriously doubts his sicererity and loyalty. All he wants is to be the next President of the United States of America. In my opinion, Hillary Clinton has the qualifications and integrity of a president.

These comments are another effort to smear Obama with lies and deceit. McCain flip flopped so many times it's difficult to count. As for the so-called relationships, many of which have been discounted, many of you do not know what truth is and choose to continue with the lies and distortions. For example. Obama spoke of the tire inflation, for which McCain riduculed him. Yet, in a campaign stop, McBush stated it was an idea supported by many experts and went on to agree. McCain/McBush is a bitter,old and dried up man who offered his wife up to participate in the motorcycle gang contest, and the old coot did not even know the nature of the contest. It is pure jealousy on McCain's part. Yes, Obama wants to be President, but so did all the other contenders, including and especially John McBush who voted with Bush more than 85% of the time! Talk about mistakes, the mistake of going to war in Iraq has cost young American lives (most of all because old men don't go to war) and crippled the American economy. Bush and McBush voted for the war (that was the mistake), but Obama did not. Do you really want to talk mistake? Many of you are willing to vote against your own best interest for reasons that we all know to be true, without being said. Unless you are all wealthy, McBush will continue in the vein of his predecessor. Good Luck!

Those who are accusing Obama of flip flopping have not listened to Obama during the primaries. He has explicitly said he was ready to make compromises to break the grilock taking place in washington(and america as a whole) politics. The democratic presidential candidate has shown time and time again to the republican that he is willing to embrace some of the issues important to them in order to help America become more competitive and face new challenges(climate change, renewable energy to say the least) in 2day's world, with china, india and russia fiercely competitive . But to the republicans blindness or unwillingness to admit his effort to reachout across the ailes, he is accused of flip flopping. The first african american presidential hopeful has proved many times that he is one of the greatest politians of our time. But to quote someone on this post "Many people are willing to vote against their own best interest for reasons that we all know to be true, without being said". GOD BLESS AMERICA

DUDE, how long hs the MEDIA had a crush on Obama, but more importantly, this leftist media, that wants us all to come together, cant stop writing articles that keep us separated and classified by race, religion or sexual orientation. I for one am tired of everyone needing to be a Hyphenated American. Here is a totally sick Idea, LETS ALL JUST BE AMERICANS. I will tell you how they are gonna vote.........AT THE FREAKIN POLLS. As far as race goes people you all need to wake up. Tolerance and Diveristy which are big catch phrases for the LEFT(dont worry I will get to the right in a minute) are not what we should be after here. All Tolerance means is I can hate your guts as long as I am civil and I smile to Your face, and the root word of Diversity is to DIVIDE. Now how in Higher Power of my own choosings name are we gonna get anywhere like that. there is really only one word and concept we need focus on, EQUALITY, and not by failed (and in my own personal view insulting) laws like affirmative action. As for the Right well they disgust me too. They call them political parties because they are having a party and we are all PAYING FOR IT. Neither of them represent me or really do anything that helps me. The asleep at the wheel Cattle nation needs to wake up before it is too late. Third Party or revolution folks. McCain and Obama are puppets and if you follow the money you will know the names of the Ultrarich Globalists that will really be running the country.

The article is about Asian American voters and you reference a martial arts movie set in China circa the 1700s. Are these young Asian American activists kung-fu kicking their way with voter registration cards in Queens?

You prefaced a completely valid news article with an absurd example of how America still insists on viewing its citizens of Asian descent: as exotic foreigners. Gong.

To all poor and middle class Americans! The energy problem is way bigger than obama is willing to expose. His plans for alternative energy will put you in the poor house real quickly, but okay lets say that we don’t drill for more oil, what would that do for the poor and middle class? It would make driving your car very expensive! Why you ask? Because gas will go up to 7-8 dollars a gallon! Because the supply will be less and demand will be more! But what about hybrid cars? Well they are very good if you can afford them; do you know how much they cost? The smallest one with out all the bells and whistles is about 50,000 can you afford that? and what happens to your trade in ? You lose money on it because if you can’t afford to drive it because of high gas prices then neither will anyone else right? Ask yourself how will you get to work with gas prices that high? I know the business industry will catch up on the pay but if it takes 1 yr. then that’s 1 yr. You have to struggle to get to work! aren’t we struggling enough right now ? We need a plan to drill and use wind, solar, and nuclear energy and obama just won’t budge on the best solution (nuclear) once winter hits your home heating cost will go up, and so will gasoline for your car, not to mention him wanting to tax electrical energy through the roof! If you think that the big energy producers don’t pass higher tax on to the customer then think again! We can’t tax our way out of this mess. And as for the 1,000 dollar simulus check for fuel that is a joke because with gas as high as it is and home heating coming up we will spend that 1,000 dollars in 5 weeks what do we do with the other 47 weeks of the year? Just say no to obama’s energy plan, and demand a vote on the floor of congress so we can get the prices down before were in deep trouble! THE BEST THING TO DO WHEN YOUR IN A HOLE IS TO STOP DIGGING !! NONE OF THE POLITICIANS WILL STRUGGLE THROUGH ALL OF THIS. John McCain has admitted he doesn't understand the economy. He has also surrounded himself with neocon foreign policy advisers. Not the least of them is Joseph Lieberman, who is agitating that we send our tired soldiers onward to Iran, at no cost to himself or the Israel lobby.

Meanwhile, nuclear-armed Pakistan is falling apart, and WE STILL HAVEN'T FOUND OSAMA BIN LADEN. Our current fight in Afghanistan is going so badly because the Taliban gets moral and material support from Pakistan, as well as safe haven inside its territory. McCain actually criticized Obama for realizing all this, and was shocked that he would consider taking action against our "ally".

So what "experience" does McCain bring to the table? Earmark reform? Great. I like that. But the money saved would be less than one-tenth of the money spent on the Fannie Mae bailout. McCain-Feingold? Some like it, some don't. I don't see how that one makes you a national leader.

McCain's energy policy won't result in new oil until he's long gone from office, even if he serves two terms. It's fine to drill, but you'd better have a better short-term energy plan, and he doesn't have one. The GOP mocked Obama for his "tire gauge" proposal, but they forgot to mention the fact that HE WAS RIGHT. Whereas offshore drilling could increase the energy supply by 3% years from now, things like tire pressure, tune ups, etc. are easy things that can save almost as much RIGHT NOW.

I doubt McCain would be Bush's 3rd term, because it's hard to be THAT incompetent. He's not far off, though, in spirit. He is a shoot first, think later politician with too many ties to neocons and lobbyists. No thanks. Eight years is already too much.

I'm not crazy about Obama's celebrity treatment. Those who look at him that way are bound to get disappointed. However, between the two candidates, he has been most consistent, and most consistently right on matters that are important to me and my family.

Corporations do not pay taxes !! The tax is a business expense and is passed on to the end user! THE END USER IS THE CONSUMER ! If a corporation wants to make the same amount of money they did last year (net proffit), the taxes go up 2 % and everything else stays the same. They simply raise the price of there product by the same 2 %. So if our Government places a windfall tax on big oil and sends us all a thousand dollar rebate check where does the money end up? I hope you guessed it! back to the government! Big oil raises it's prices to pay the tax and we use our rebate checks to cover the additional expense. How is that going to help? I can't believe any one has the nerve to get on national T.V. and suggest this.

Some of our politicians are trying to sell you on how good they will be for the country by telling us they will raise corporate taxes!

Do they not understand the effect that will have on our economy ? Or do they believe we are so un educated they can tell us they are going to tax corporations at higher rates increasing the price of goods we purchase for consumption and that is going to help the economy and our country ? We need to quit being mad at big corporations! They are in buisness to make money and some are doing a good job!

We should be mad at our Government for not doing a better job! Who has been the majority leaders in Congress? Why havn't they done anything? I don't bye excuses!

We need to stop beleiving evrything we are told just because the person has a degree is or on T.V.!

Do some research and make a educated decision this elcection. This may be the most important election of our life time.Consider the state of our country and ask yourself do we need a Liberal Goverment led by the most liberal Congressman ? Lets not let the future of this great country down. More importantly lets not put our children in a position that is worse than our own.

As a Auto Repair shop owner I would like to know who did the research and came up with the numbers? Just what percentage of the vehicles on the road today NEED a tune up or have under inflated tires? Those of us that do take care of our vehicles save nothing. The un educated will loose the expense of the tune up that was not needed because they wil see no improvement in fuel mileage. Yes you can conserve fuel by tuning your car up,if it is in a bad state of tune. Yes you can conserve fuel by inflating youre tires, if they are under inflated. Over inflated tires are dangerous! I have to wonder how many people may have heard this and will think all I have to do is put more air in my tires? Those who are over inflating tires are putting dangerous vehicles on the roads we all use.

The computer controlled engine managment systems on modern day vehicles (late 80's up) recieve information from various sensor and adjust fuel and ignition thousands of times a minute.

We have some of the best technicians in the country and there is no way they could make any adjustments to improve the fuel mileage of these vehicles faster than the on board computers do.

1996 and up vehicles with on board diagnostic 2 computer systems (Fed. mandated they all do) check for engine missfire the whole time you are driving. When the computer detects a miss fire it turns the check engine or service engine soon light on or flashes the light. Modern day vehicles have no adjustments to be made.

There are un fortunatly un scrupulus shops tha wil tell you otherwise! Check youre fuel mileage before and after. You be the judge the numbers won't lie.

For those that may not know how to check actual fuel mileage. Go to the gas station and fill up, Let the pump shut off automaticaly and do not top off. Re set the trip meter and drive as you normaly would. Run the tank down below 1/2 and fill it back up without topping off. Divide the number of miles drivin by the number of gallons it took to re fill.

Willnotvoteobama, the low end no frills hybrids cost about 5,000 more then its non-hybrid counter part. If you can afford a new car you can afford a hybird.

Supply and demand teaches us that when demand goes down so does price. For example if you're selling apples, and no one is buying apples you don't raise the price do you?

Now for the rest of your right wing crazed post; let me make this clear. With out goverment intervention the poorest sections of our nation will suffer all energy policy changes. There is no avoiding this. The sad truth of the matter is that no matter what we do or if we do nothing oil will go up. If we cap and trade oil will go up, if we drill for our own oil the price will go up, if we tax the oil compaines oil will go up. The fact of the matter is there is a limited supply of oil in the world, because of this wars will be faught for it, it will command men's greed, and the poor will suffer for it. The answer is to stop using oil altogether.

The Asian communities across the US may be relatively "small" but they are among the richest and most well educated pockets of the population in the country.

I hope they will see their way toward voting for Obama. He is the most intelligent candidate and also the most well organized, able to raise money and keep his messaging on track, can handle the economics of his campaign exceedingly well and has a vision and a great communications style, a diplomatic approach to the rest of the world and the chance to work constructively and collaboratively with all political persuasions and advisors from both parties.

Voting for the GOP again would be a mistake, in my view. The party is going through a terrible time and seems to have no new blood, new ideas or very interesting politicians. McCain could have been a decent president 8 years ago, but now he's too old, I am afraid. The office of the president is much too taxing on one's health and he will become very frail and decrepit in the short time from winning to leading this country. He's not qualified.

To say McCain has long courted Vietnamese Americans ( failed to mention even while he wasn't soliciting their vote like Obama ) But having the nerve to mention he used a racial slur to describe his CAPTORS!?!? Don't bother mentioning he called them gooks. Yeah gooks, the name 100% of all soldiers used to describe the people that were cutting their Dycks off and sticking them in dead soldiers mouths. I have to question the gullibility of anyone who thinks their candidate is the smartest person in this election because he follows a teleprompter and reads a script, well, like every baptist church minister I have ever heard. Secondly, the man is a HARVARD graduate and every Dem swallowed that a man as "intelligent" as Obama mis-voted without a hint of question from the nation of Obama? How hard is it to vote afterall? Apparently so difficult that a Harvard grad can't get it right without a redo I guess. Didn't Paris Hilton just show us how easy it is to make a valid arguement if you have the right people writing the material? The only genius in the Obama camp is Axelrod period. About Jim Webb's narrow win over George Allen. Newsweek failed to mention that his wife is Vietnamese, and since there are a large number of Vietnamese American living in Virginia, of course it was a huge factor in helping him beat the Republican incumbent even with their support, he only won by less than 0.5 %.
