I love Huckabee the Macabee It seems the Jews love Huckabee, McCain should pick him as VP or risk losing alot of voters if they dont. Some Huckabee supporters are so disillusioned by the GOP and the McCain camp they actually are asking Huckabee to leave the GOP. <a rel="nofollow" target="_new" href="http://www.mccanes.com/newparty.html">http://www.mccanes.com/newparty.html

Why is Obama and McCain considering adopting t boon pickens energy plan?

First, while McCain is outspending Obama in on-air advertising, Obama is absolutely crushing McCain in spending on the ground. It's easy to count the advertising dollars, but for every paid campaign hire, there may be 5, 10, or 25 volunteers represented. Obama's ground game is what scares the Republicans, not his ads.

Second, the RNC still needs to spend money on other races. They can't devote 100% to John McCain. This year, they can't really even afford to spend 50% on John McCain. Forget about the other races this year in which they are struggling, they have another nightmare year in 2010. If the presidential race turns sour, you can bet real money that the RNC will shift its focus to holding the line in the Senate. In direct contrast, Obama can literally spend every single penny from his fund to defeat McCain. And along with his ground game, you better believe that scares the hell out of Republicans.

The problem for Obama is that they insisted no building a parallel infrastructure so they could control everything, and it is proving to be horribly expensive.

They were planning on $100m months, not $50m.

To give up 33% of your time to fundraisers comes at a real cost. Plus, if it only nets you an extra $10M a month, that is not decisive. The numbers do not includ the RNC Victory Fund, which will be solely devoted to McCain.

Bush still knows how to rake in the cash. If Romney is the guy, expect another $50M in Mormon money on the barrelhead.

Obama should have taken the public financing. Unless he starts rolling up $100m months, It was pointless for him to sell out his values for a paltry $10m a month advantage.

More to the point, it was stupid. McCain will make sure to mention in every stump speech that Barack Obama is attending another high-dollar corporate fundraiser.

How will that jive with his message of change and hope? It will reek of money grubbing political hackery.

They have achieved this deception by not reporting on the facts. They have not been asking the tough questions they need to ask of a Presidential Candidate. The U.S. Constitution guarantees Freedom of The Press in order to assure that the press is free to ask just such probing questions without fear of retribution from any member of the government. The profit motive has now injected itself into political reporting. Many major news outlets are skewing their reporting in order to increase their ratings among certain portions of the population. This "Prostitution" of the Freedom of the Press was never envisioned by our founding fathers. Isn't it IRONIC that a PASTOR and NOT a REPORTER was the main instrument in getting Obama to finally answer some tough, difficult, yet truly relevant and revealing questions? Pundits from every major news organization have admitted ON AIR that the Saddleback venue Pastor Rick Warren organized was a "Brilliant" one. Rest assured that since the Obama campaign has seen how poorly Obama performed under such a format, that they will do everything in their power to block any further "Debates" from adopting the same format.

The Saddleback forum has firmly cemented the Church's legitimate role in the future of Presidential Debates. Thanks are due to CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, Newsweek, and The New York Times for moving aside in your reporting coverage these past months, and allowing Rick Warren to forge a place in history for him and for the Church. Thank God for people with courage and moral fortitude like Pastor Rick Warren who are willing to examine the issues facing our country without regard to the profit motive or party loyalty. Freedom of The Press Should not be for sale! Take heed CNN. Pay attention MSNBC. Learn something CBS. We've just made news here ABC. Are you reading between the lines here Mr. Editor of The New York Times? Can you figure out the implication of this story Newsweek? I hope all of you editors are listening. The silence is truly deafening!

You are seeing your profits decline simply because you have lost your relevance as an objective news source. People have found that they can get a better, more accurate view of world events though a clear glass window, one which doesn't have the view altered by the prisim of your editor's political affiliation. Americans are perfectly capable of making their own mind up regarding politics. We don't need your editors to show us the light.

Barry should've taken the high road, taken the public financing, and competed with McCain head to head... but now McCain gets to 1.) talk about Barry going back on his word, 2.) talk about Barry attending "another Hollywood fundraiser", 3.) spend more time campaigning while Barry spends more time raising money, and 4.) spend boku bucks in August while Barry has to work around a budget.

Barry... you're not the Messiah, never were, never will be... you are a flash in the pan... and the flash just ended!

Obama chose to opt out of federal funding after seen the huge donations coming in; what happens if he keeps falling in the polls and his fundraising drops dramatically? Can he then change his mind and take the public financing?

Are you honestly trying to say that McCain has taken the high road? Because I don't think you've been paying attention. McCain is running a presidential campaign using government tax money. Obama is funding his campaign using volunteer donations. I think Obama's plan is better (both politically and fiscally). I would also point out that until three months ago, Republicans argued that a publicly financed presidential campaign was not only a bad idea, but violated the First Amendment.

This is the first time that the presidential money race has been measured using the combination of the candidate's coffers and the National Committee's cash on hand. In fact, money raised by the Committees was referred to as "soft money" until recent history. The only money race that counted was what the candidates themselves had brought in. The National Committees are playing an entirely different game. To be honest, I have no idea why it's different this year.

And I shouldn't bite, but I can't help myself. Please, show me one single person or one single instance where anyone anywhere ever said or even implied that Barack Obama is the Messiah. Just one. Anywhere. I dare you. It's not only a baseless charge, it's offensive to those of us who believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

Jerry is one of the very few conservatives in Hollywood but wants to include Democrats.

He says:

We are about to make the Mother-of-All-Mistakes, because the Republican Party gave us no reliable alternative. If the conservative movement does not rally behind the only alternative left to us, this country will become a true Socialist State within the next two Presidential terms.

Ladies and Gentleman, this is the most grave situation this nation has faced in my lifetime. We just experienced an over hyped, outrageous primary election season that has left me wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding . Must be someplace where the sun doesn't go very often.

At one time in my life I was a determined, dedicated and ever-loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened. Lyndon Baines Johnson, that turned my life around and gave me pause for the veracity of a party that lives and feeds off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of them are in their positions in life by their own choosing, others by outside circumstance. But always, always there was a door open to them, to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. Similarly, there have always been the bottom feeders, doing what they could to take advantage of those who had not or have not seen better days, nor realized that they in fact were the masters of their own destiny.

These unfortunates had come to believe that they were dependent on people in Washington, who would look out for and take care of them. They waited and still wait for all those promised freebies.

Most people don't reflect upon the fact that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years; it wasn't until 1994 when the so-called Gingrich Revolution changed but only for a while. These same people do not realize that it was the Democrats who created the failed policies of the entitlement programs that are now falling apart before our eyes.

Do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They, too, suffer from the ego and greed built into our system. But in the past few months I have listened with growing horror to the railings of the left, calling for yet more giveaways, more promises of a proverbial free lunch. What sums up my feelings, why I am appalled by those in political power is contained within a quote by basketball legend and talk show host Charles Barkley. 'Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years...and they are still poor.'

Now, with our elections, come yet more new promises of change we can believe in, for the future. But if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new messiah is asking for, it is not change of policy or change for the better. This is a warning that he wants our change. And the change you will get will not be the change you expected or wanted. I leave you my predictions of what will happen if the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President especially if the House and Senate are veto-proof Democrat.

1). Strict gun laws, though he promised he would not.

2). In God We Trust will be removed from all currency.

3). He will renege on his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.

4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.

5). Tax rates will surge to the highest levels in 30 years.

6. Capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.

7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.

8). Our borders will be open to all comers especially from the Middle East and South America .

9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals in the U.S, regardless of status or even gang membership (think MS-13).

10). Our presence in Iraq will come to an abrupt end with tragic results though their citizens and devastating consequences to our military.

My predictions will not sit well with some people. The best we could hope for is that I am wrong.

Any bets?

Any bets?

The writer of this essay is Jerry Molen, an Academy Award winning Hollywood Producer, who produced Jurassic Park , Hook, Rain Man and many more classy movies, and who won the Academy Award for Schindler's List.

1). Strict gun laws, though he promised he would not.

This is a silly, alarmist prediction. Nothing in Obama's platform, campaign, or history shows that he would push for strict federal management of guns. Period.

2). In God We Trust will be removed from all currency.

As a church goer myself, I still can't figure out why this is a bad thing. What is Caeser's is Caeser's, after all. God doesn't belong on our money in the first place, so removing him would actually be more in line scripture.

3). He will renege on his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.

Again, absolutely no basis in reality.

4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.

That would more disastrous than Bork. Even if the Republican outcry didn't force him to withdraw her (ala Harriet Miers), the nomination would be filibustered. It simply wouldn't make sense to nominate Hillary.

5). Tax rates will surge to the highest levels in 30 years.

You mean, after 8 years of Bush's insane and schizophrenic economic policy (or complete lack thereof) and throwing $12 Billion a month into Iraq, Congress will have to make tax adjustments? You better hope so if you want to keep your roads. Republicans are the party with the spending problem, not Democrats.

6. Capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.

Capitol gains tax is half what I pay in income tax, so even if it was doubled (as billionaire Warren Buffet has suggested) it would actually be more in line with taxes that regular working citizens pay.

7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.

Again, why would this be a bad thing? I'm sure you are personally deeply hurt by his attacks on John McCain, but this has no relationship to his effectiveness as a General. He has 35 years military experience and was Supreme Allied Commander of NATO. He is a respected and decorated vet. He also happens to have been Valedictorian at West Point. You may not like the guy, but he's a hell of a lot more qualified than Donald Rumsfeld or Dick Cheney.

8). Our borders will be open to all comers especially from the Middle East and South America.

They aren't now? President Obama has promised to do the one thing that could stop the flow of illegal immigration, which just so happens to be the one thing President Bush is unwilling to do: Hold accountable those companies who hire undocumented workers in place of American citizens. Remove the intensive for regular folk to come here, and we'll actually be able to patrol our borders effectively.

9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals in the U.S, regardless of status or even gang membership (think MS-13).

Not true and not part of Obama's platform. It was President Reagan who granted blanket amnesty and no U.S. President is likely to repeat his mistake.

10). Our presence in Iraq will come to an abrupt end with tragic results though their citizens and devastating consequences to our military.

The Iraq War is CURRENTLY tragic for Iraqi citizens and HAS ALREADY HAD devastating consequences for our military. This is one of the most backward arguments proposed by supporters of the war. It is time for the Iraqi government to take responsibility for their country, and it's time for us to stop wasting money and lives in a civil war. We caused the problems, so we should help with the solution: Political reconciliation, diplomatic advancement, financial aid, and training. I don't want to lose any more friends to this war.
