If McCain picks Romney watch that little lead mccain has disappear. Romney will Hurt McCain with the evengelicals and christian base of the Party, they will turn and Run. Put Huckabee on the ticket and get the Base excited all ready, Then you can win this thing. No one is going to "Not" vote for McCain if he picks Huckabee., If he Picks Romney There will be a ton of People that Wont Vote for McCain. Whats really going on is Romney belongs to the RNC. The RNC wants to make sure that they stay in power. By putting bush 4 in office ie (Romney) after McCains term is over. The RNC dont like Huckabee because he is more for the working class. Your "golden boy" has turned over on so many issues, even Newsweek can't make him into something he is not. The public isn't as stupid as the media thinks we are. All the media sources have tried to protray him into something he clearly is not! The cesspool called Hollywood has tried to play him with images of a really good guy for change. What changes. He has nothing but "smooth talking bits of sweet lies", to say the very least. Too bad for the media, who were bought off or owned by Democrats that most people in this country can still, as the old saying goes, "spot a wolf in sheeps clothing".

The media has now decided that McCain will win and Obama will lose, and their mission is to bring that about. The media has cast its vote. Obama is out of luck.

He should also get a bump in the polls when he names his vp, probably Biden.

MCCAIN TAKES A 5 POINT LEAD AMONG LIKELY VOTERS IN THE POLLS OVER OBAMA!

This is the real news. Maybe America is finally waking up to the coffee in terms of the empty suit that Obama really is.

Obama is supposed to be so smart but look at his vp choices on the short list. One is a woman but not Hillary. Is that not a slap in the face to the Hillary women? He is willing to really consider a woman but not Hillary. Then there is Biden. He is not a bad choice but is he a poster child for change, having been in the Congress forever? And he is only at 67, 5 years younger than McCain. So Obama undercuts both his change mantra and his youthful advantage over McCain by picking Biden.

I assume Obama is not dumb enough to pick a woman other than hillary but I sure as hell hope he does! I think the Hillraisers have something planned for him anyway! Go, Hillary gals, go!

NOBAMA, NOBAMA, NOBAMA, NOBAMA, NOBAMA, NOBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Media is implicated in this effect. McCain is skating by relying on his experience of being a prisoner of war 40 years ago and the public perception, also abetted by the media, that he is an independent thinker. This is so far from the truth that it is scary- Maybe he used to be but now he is a blind supporter of a war that was based on lies, he wants us to think that nothing happened before the surge; he is a very rich man with 10 houses who has no real empathy or understanding of people who are struggling; he has approved the use of torture even though he himself was tortured and used to be against it; he has voted against giving veterans care and education; he has voted with the Bush admin. 95% of the time in the past 8 years; His energy policy is a joke - drilling will take 10 years and affect the cost of a gallon of gas by 5 cents. It is time for the media to be realistic about who McCain really is now and to, objectively, get this out to the public. Obama, in contrast, has well thought out positions and a real sense of what we need as a country. It takes a few minutes to listen to them or to read them - they are intelligent and thoughtful, something this country is unused to after 8 years of simplistic platitudes that insult our intelligence.

1) Obama wants high oil prices that will cripple the American people.

2)He wants higher capital gains taxes which will cripple the stock market and major businesses, and those are the companies that are giving you and me work.

3) He wants to raise taxes on the rich in this country. Well wake up and smell the coffee. When have the government been able to do that? The rich always have found tax shelters to not pay. So who ends up paying this deficit in tax revenues. Yup, you guessed. That's you and me in the middle class. Don't be naive.

So we have a candidate in Sen. This is good news for McCain, I predict him to steadily gain in the polls over the next few weeks. Especially after we get a few debates in were Obama isn't told what to say by his teleprompter, the boy with the golden tongue is gonna look the fool without his speech writers. Boy, I'm sure glad I switch to a Republican this year, I'd be ashamed to have to admit that I'm for that America hating, elitist, and inexperienced Barrack and Forth with the scary militant wife.

On a side note, I really find it funny that Obama told reporters that he was against Thomas being elected to the supreme court because he felt he didn't have the experience for such a high position, kind of the kettle calling the pot black....oh wait, now I'm a racist. This guy is such a joke!

I can't believe some of the trash. half-truths, and lies people perpetuate because they are too lazy and too dumb to search out the facts. 13londie and erasto, you are completely ignorant and are willing to distort the truth to maintain the status quo.

13londie, what, are you 12 years old? Yeah, electing Obama equals standing with "the muslims," as you refer to them. Just like electing Kennedy was standing with "the Catholics" and the Pope was going to control all our affairs. How scary, right? Didn't happen then and won't happen now. How lame and xenophobic.

erasto, Yeah, you nailed it. Obama wants high oil prices so he can cripple America. Yeah, that's the platform he's running, "I will crush all you Americans under my high oil prices! Now vote for me or die!" How weak that you would lie to bolster your candidate. And decreasing gas prices have nothing to do with Bush, lifting the drilling ban hasn't actually resulted in any action at this point! It's common knowledge (and any basic economics course can verify) that the decrease in gas prices have come from a combination of less US demand, the slightly stronger US dollar, lack of storm-interupting oil supply (which is typical this time of year), etc. etc. etc. Try sticking you head in a book every now and then instead of up your bum.

He plans to leave enough troops there to protect American interests and to continue training Iraqi troops. He sees the focus of the war as being on Afganistan, Al Queda and the Taliban and needing to engage with Pakistan due to the number of radicals holed up in their eastern mountains. He has said that Bush erred by taking the fight from Afganistan and BinLaden to a made up war with Iraq and he has been consistent in this since 9/11.. His economic focus will be on "fast-track" infrastructure, including roads, schools, sewer lines and bridges that would put people back to work right away. He emphasizes the need to stop defecit spending and advocates closing tax loopholes that favor corporations and millionaires. He plans a tax break of about $1000 to offset payroll taxes. He wants to see investment in development of electric and hybrid cars, as well as wind turbines and solar panels. This jives with his energy policy which is to bring in the use of alternative fuels and decrease our dependence on foreign oil- he is working with Al Gore and his climate initiative. He is in favor of providing full health care for all Americans, based on a mixed system of private insurance and public investment to bring the costs down. Barack is prochoice, and has a strong civil rights background. Go to his website ( if you don't want to give your email, scroll down a bit and enter the site that way) and click on the 'issues' tab. This page leads to position papers with lots of specifics. Hope this helped.

First, we have a comment that says since Bush lifted the ban on off shore drilling gas prices have gone down 60 cents.

Bush hasn't lifted any bans on oil drilling people.

(Gas prices haven't fallen 60 cents either lol)

People need to read more than the headlines and the idiot emails running around on the internet.

The whole debate on lifting the ban is about making more land available for sale to drill on. What you'd know if you read the articles is that oil companies already have bought more than 60 million acres of land that they haven't tried to drill on. We'd just be letting them by up more of our precious coastal waters to let them sit on those too. They aren't going to open up more drilling spots, because then their profits go down. However, coastal water real estate is always a sound investment for them, just making them richer and richer as we keep paying big bucks for gas.

In order to fix the oil/energy problem we need serious ways to combat our addiction to oil, fossil fuels and our greedy attitude that there will always be more. That's gonna take some doing and it's not going to be easy or convenient to any of us. But it will allow us to keep our natural resources from being gobbled up faster than we can get it out of the ground, which is what we've been doing for a over a century now.

As to the comment that we have a choice to protect America or stand with the muslims by voting,

it's so ignorant it would be comical if there weren't many others just as ignorant out there.

Thank God that there are people out there that have actually done RESEARCH into each candidate, going beyond speeches, and idiot emails to make their choice.

I'm sure this person also believes they've won 38 billion in the Peruvian British email lottery too??

My family has protected America for generations and continues that tradition to this day!

Our troops in Afghanistan need back up to combat the real war on terror. For those that don't know

it, that's where we went after the groups responsible for 9/11 and other terrorist attacks on the U.S.

One of the comments mentioned people being "sheep". Well it's the people that are believing their email inboxes, the ones that just read headlines and don't do their own intense research on ALL of the candidates before deciding who they'll vote for that are the sheep. We've already been lead to a slaughter of over 4,000 Americaan lives, and the cost to other allies lives and to innocent civilians based on lies, lies and more lies.

For all of you spouting about protecting America, do this one thing for those that are doing the protecting. Bow your head in prayer for the family of the Marine that just lost his life in the last 24 hours as he did his duty in Iraq. Then take another minute and bow your head for the rest of those brave men and women and their families that have lost their limbs, and their lives doing the job they signed on to do.

Do the research on the candidates. Don't leave it to your buddy's emails or to the reporters to do it for you. Those that have decided using these methods just show how ignorant they are, and are a bigger threat to the protection of this country than anyone else in the world.

However, my experience comes from working on congressional campaigns, starting 30+ years ago. Both candidates will get a bump from their conventions. Democrats are being very public with their convention and will certainly get a bigger bump. My guess is that if Senator Obama has a bump in the polls of 6-8 points or higher, holding about two weeks after the Republican convention, then Obama wins. That is, if there is no Swift Boat subject in Senator's Obama's closet. Facts of Life.

This should have been over in a year - but NO our soldiers have to fight politicaly correct while gorrilas are killing them. We have the greatest Military force in the world. Let our brave men and women fight the way they wre trained. There are only 2 possible ways to end a war, WIN or LOOSE. Our soldiers are trained to never accept defeat and will never!

We can win the battles on both fronts with nary a soldier on the ground, but no. Our politicians (who are always campaigning) and the American public choose to put them in harms way.

Look at what Russia just did in Georgia. How many soldiers did they loose? How long did it take ?

Wake up and smell the coffe America. If you truly want our soldiers home let them beat the enemy into submission and get it over with. Let them come home with pride and dignity. The public and our politicians may accept something short of victory but our men and women of the Armed Forces will never !

As a veteran of 7 yrs and father of a National Guard Soldier I am urging the public and our politicians to stop playing redicoulus games with these fine men and women. Stop messing up there lives. They are humans not robots ! Don't let there fallen comrades to have fallen in vane.

The great men and women who have sacrificed and some the greatest sacrifice do not want defeat .

Our main goal should always be to end wars and bring our armed forces home as quickly as possible. The fastest way to due that is victory. Has not history taught us anything ?

I think what will determine who wins this Fall is what is top-of-mind in most voters' concerns when they enter the polling booths. If it's the economy and energy, they might be inclinced to vote for change (or not); and if it's healthcare and social issues, Obama may be favored.

But honestly, I think Obama may win anyway - how could we NOT collectively and wholly (pretty much) vote in a more intelligent candidate with a mandate for changing the status quo? He is also attractive and would make a very exciting Presidency as he'd be our first African American president -- reason for a HUGE CELEBRATION and I can hardly wait. I think this option is just too attractive for most of us intelligent voters to pass up. It's a chance to make history - and the risks definitely outweight the rewards.

I hate to say it, but electing McCain would be an enormous let-down, not just for our nation but for the whole world. It's time to take a calculated risk and elect the most appealing, intellectual candidate and squash out "politics as usual" - OBAMA '08

They didn't. Considering that, it seems the post-convention bump will be history repeating itself: It will be minor and it won't last. The fact is that Obama's base, young people and women, has proven itself to be very soft and unreliable. This has been proven by the fact that his support among them, to say nothing of other demographic groups has been sliding for a month. McCain, on the other hand, who seems to have nearly every factor in the race against him, is steadily gaining on Obama in the polls with every demographic group. Unless Obama can pull a rabbit out of his hat and reverse this slide, he's going to lose in November.

define victory? do you know we went into Iraq? It was because Saddam was getting WMDs according to Bush. Now that we know it was a lie, it is time to get out. Otherwise define 'victory'. If you dont know what it is then how can you get it. If your goal is to install a puppet regime in Iraq that will lick your feet then no self respecting people will accept that.

Colin Powell clearly told the elder Bush during the first Gulf War that he will only go to war with clearly defined objectives. That was to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait and once that was done the war stopped.

Just because we were fooled into going to Iraq doesnt mean we should keep losing American lives forever, constantly inventing new reasons to waste American lives instead of admitting we were fooled. It is people like you who havent learnt your lesson. If history has taught us anything it is to fight war with clearly defined objectives and that you cannot enslave other people in the name of fighting communism or whatever.

Besides that.....I thought this election was over months ago. I thought we had already crowned Obama......and now it comes down to desperately needing a bump from the convention?

Majority have accepted the result of the primary but this minority group is a pain in the ass. They remind me of a cluster of biting insects that keeps buzzing around like an irritating distraction you have to be constantly fending off. Look ‘Sam for Hillary’ nobody is interested in your foul gossip. If Obama has to pay a super delegate $1 you can bet your life Hillary would have had to pay $2 or $3 because nearly half the country do not want her for president. Perhaps this is one of the reasons her campaign owes so much money. If you are a true Democrat you will vote Obama. Judging from your post you are either a Republican trying to stir up chaos, or a hard nose Clintonite. The Clintons are respected solid members of the Democratic Party (DNC). They are a part of it, they do not own it, the party does not belong to them and as such Hillary has no entitlement to the nomination because she lost the primary fair and square. Stop playing a spoilers game! It is important the party stays on message and retake the White House.

Ofcourse OBAMA needs a big bump to win. What better way than to murder Hillary supporters.

Arkansas delegate was murdered

Jones-Tubbs was killed today

Diane Fienstien escaped with only ankle injury early this week.

This is too much of coincidence. He has bumped 3 of the Hillary supporters from supporting her in the convention. How many more do you want him and his wife to murder to stop Hillary ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whilst you are spreading unsubstantiated dirty rumors let me ask you this one, ever heard of the Clinton body bags? A good number of Bill Clinton supporters died under mysterious circumstances within a short period during the time of impeachment. Goggle it! Now, I am not saying this was not coincidental, but ‘Sam For Hillary’ given the background of this story if there is any finger pointing it should be at the Clintons and not Obama. BTW Stephanie Tubbs Jones died of a brain aneurysm. I doubt there could be foul play. The poor woman must have been overstressed trying to salvage Hillary’s train wreck campaign.

McCain has never really earned anything. He is from a wealth pamperd background and not fit to lead this nation.

A "war hero" doesn't finished 894th out of 899 and still get stationed at a Navy champagne unit and promoted ahead of all but two of his 898 other classmates.

A "war hero" doesn't crash three U.S. Navy jets out of sheer incompetence and ineptitude, including two during non-combat training sessions.

A "war hero" doesn't get written up on drunk-and-disorderly, fraternization, disobeying orders, and insubordination charges more than two dozen times in less than three years.

A "war hero" doesn't get promoted to squadron commander of the air field named after his own grandfather immediately after crashing his third airplane.

A "war hero" doesn't have all the military records that cover his time in Vietnam and all disciplinary actions against him censored and sealed "as a matter of national security."

A "war hero" doesn't get 28 medals awarded all after-the-fact "for bravery" for no other reason than being shot down and captured and then go on a celebrity public relations tour because he's the son of two acclaimed Navy admirals.

A "war hero" doesn't repeatedly cheat on the wife who's back in the states waiting for him, and then cheat on her more when he returns to the states, and then divorce and abandon her.

A "war hero" doesn't systematically vote against every single pay and benefit increase for military and veterans throughout his entire political career, all the while claiming to be "the soldier's Congressman," and then take credit for the passage of a G.I. benefits bill he that voted AGAINST.

A "war hero" McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom.

McCain's second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. "Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula," Timberg wrote, "he took out some power lines [reminiscent of the 1998 incident in which a Marine Corps jet sliced through the cables of a gondola at an Italian ski resort, killing 20] which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral."

McCain's third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game.

Timberg reported that McCain radioed, "I've got a flameout" and went through standard relight procedures three times before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain landed on a deserted beach moments before the plane slammed into a clump of trees.

McCain's fifth loss happened during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, when McCain's A-4 Skyhawk was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. McCain ejected from the plane breaking both arms and a leg in the process and subsequently parachuted into Truc Bach Lake near Hanoi.

For 23 combat missions (an estimated 20 hours over enemy territory), the U.S. Navy awarded McCain a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts and a dozen service medals.

"McCain had roughly 20 hours in combat," explains Bill Bell, a veteran of Vietnam and former chief of the U.S. Office for POW/MIA Affairs -- the first official U.S. representative in Vietnam since the 1973 fall of Saigon. "Since McCain got 28 medals," Bell continues, "that equals out to about a medal-and-a-half for each hour he spent in combat. There were infantry guys -- grunts on the ground -- who had more than 7,000 hours in combat and I can tell you that there were times and situations where I'm sure a prison cell would have looked pretty good to them by comparison. The question really is how many guys got that number of medals for not being shot down."

For years, McCain has been an unchecked master at manipulating an overly friendly and biased news media. The former POW turned Congressman, turned U.S. Senator, has managed to gloss over his failures as a pilot by exaggerating his military service and lying about his feats of heroism.

McCain has sprouted a halo and wings to become America's POW-hero presidential candidate.

Consider this finding from the new Wall Street Journal-NBC News poll out Wednesday night. A bare majority of Clinton supporters, say they will vote for Obama. Twenty one percent favor McCain, while 27 percent are still undecided or say they will vote for "someone else.’’ More than half of Clinton’s supporters are still not on board with Obama! The holdouts tend to like McCain more than Obama and have more confidence in McCain’s ability to be commander-in-chief.

Would Clinton add to the ticket? Apparently. The poll shows Obama leading McCain by three points. If Clinton were at the top of the ticket, she would be leading McCain by eight.

Fourteen - and only two of them were standing senators. So I don't know why experience in the senate should be such a huge indicator of how successful our next president will be, apparently thirty presidents have done just fine without it. Now I can understand McCain's war experience being touted, you can't doubt a man who was tortured five years for his country. But how about serving three years in another sort of war: a poverty war in Chicago where people were losing their jobs and homes in a slumping economy in the Midwest. Isn't that a little bit more relative experience for what our next president needs? At our point in the economy, jobs being lost, 27% increases in food, triple that in fuel, housing, etc, don't we need a president who has firsthand experience in how people suffer, how to get them back to work and standing on their feet? And there's more relevant experience in Obama's past: as a teacher, as a state senator, and the a few months as a congressional senator before the election process began, and then his judgments so far (he has a run an election like no one in history, and beat one of the most influential politicians of our generation, his stance on the war from the beginning, and his direction for the country if you read his book.)

For those of you who really want to know where Obama wants to take this country, read The Audacity of Hope. It speaks in terms of actual policies, things he wants to implement and change to get things done, and it gives you a personal take on his character. This is a man that convinced me, without trying, not to dislike Bush (which I did).

And then the media. I've read a lot of comments on how biased the media is, one way or the other. The media is biased...towards ratings. Ratings are there baby, there priority. And drama sells. In a world inundated with reality shows and sex and drama, it's what Americans have gotten a taste for. The news networks employ their big, likable personalities and they sit and talk for an hour about what they think is right, how this senator or this president did this stupid thing, that they disagree with, and why they want to fight about it. Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, Nancy Grace, Lou Dobbs, Anderson Cooper, Bill O'Riley, Glenn Beck, I could go on and on and on, they all just feed into the fight. We see snippets of people's speeches dissected and cut and broadcast without context. We're not shown the ideas these people have, the genuine goals and policies and problem, we are shown the snippet where they talk about the other guy, or say something controversial. They've all got their platform and they just cater to it. I guess what I'm trying to say is the real issues we have are chopped and heightened and shortened and made to look farther apart, more dramatic, more of a fight then they really are.

We need to take back our government, and we need to take back our media, and along with those two things comes our intelligence. "For the people, by the people," but you've got to have the people to make this work. We all love our country, but when it comes to our democracy, the laws that govern our lives, the politicians we elect - we are letting ourselves down. When you discuss politics or policies, you hear answers like "what do I care, it doesn't affect me", or "there's nothing I can do about it anyway". Stand up, don't accept biased news reporting, whether it meets your political affiliations or not, don't accept lying politicians, or what's worse not even make them have to lie because we're just not paying attention. Get used to writing your senators, house representatives, state representatives, and newspapers, whatever it takes. We still have the power our constitution gave us, we just have to take it back. Whatever way you vote this election, educate yourself and send a message by no longer giving the media your ratings, and sending clear messages to our fellow citizens and our leaders that the past twenty five years or politics isn't going to work anymore. We don't need battles, we need happy medium solutions, where both sides are willing to give and take, to sacrifice things that might be important, and to always keep the American people in mind (not the lobbies and $).

Two more points: anyone who thinks oil drilling or efficiency standards are the only way out of $4 a gallon gas, check out speculators. Speculation has had a huge impact on barrel price, and some economists and specialists say (C-Span congressional hearing that aired about 7 weeks ago) that by reinforcing regulations that were lowered in 2001, price per barrel could drop to $30-$40 within a month.

And to Hilary Clinton Supporters: if Hillary Clinton was elected, I wouldn't vote or I would vote for McCain. That woman is concerned only with furthering her dynasty. Do you realize that if Hilary Clinton would have won this election we would have had a Bush or a Clinton in the White House from 1989-2012, maybe 2016, is that really what we want? This isn't a monarchy. It's about time a woman was president, but not that woman. And as a third anti Hilary point, she was willing to do whatever it took to win, and she had a horrible strategy. She played a typical Washington game: whatever she thought you wanted to hear. She cried one day, yelled the next, insulted Obama's willingness to meet with leaders from countries we don't agree with, and then touted that line later, promoted a gas tax holiday, didn’t take any of the caucuses seriously, and planned no further then Feb 5. Hilary lost, not because she's a woman, but because she was not as good. And how about their insulting Obama for complimenting Regan? Like it's against the rules to compliment a Republican. We don't have room for that in what we need to be our future political climate.

You can hate as much as you want and have your prediction for the future about him not having an experience I can tell you one thing it does not matter if you do not vote for him and give your vote to Mc Cain ,may be MC Cain will win and life goes on.

Obama does not have experience as you proclaim but he is smart and being smart does make difference.

Another thing either you vote or not for Obama, if it is in God plan that he will win he will and you cannot do anything agianst it.

When you loose a race you need to get out gracefully and Clinton does not know how to do that.

The more you hear him the less inclined you're to vote for him. The guy is charming, speaks well, inteligent, but let's be serious this country is at this time in history too fragile for Obama to get his training on the job. Other than opposing the war (he is so slick he was probably absent on purpose) what has Obama accomplished? can't even evaluate his work at the senate. He has been campaigning for 1 year out of the 3 he's been in Washington. What has he done for americans to deserve my vote? he is a black man who does'nt have history in the black experience. Presumpuous? the trip overseas really turned me off. He seems to be suffering from the entitlement mentality and wants a free ride to the white house. He's not change, the oil drilling and campaign finance issue presented him as just one of the bunch. If I'am to vote oThe DNC, Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy, Kerry, Read, they are going to be responsible for loosing an election that was theirs to win. To avoid the possibility of the republicans gaining a majority in congress I will vote democrat, McCain seems more fit to be president.

I can't beleive people are willing to vote for McBush, yeah let's keep the same right wing conservative failed policies and positions that have been destrorying this country. Yeah sounds like a winning strategy, or that's what the right wing conservative nut bags will tell you.

I have been a registered Democrat all my life but I will vote for McCain partly as a protest against the media bias and also because I find most of the Obama nuts to be a bunch of snot-nosed smart alecks.
Part 2 of 2

The CBS EVENING NEWS ran 156 stories in FAVOR of Obama, compared to just 21 ANTI-Obama reports. ABCs WORLD NEWS was the LEAST SLANTED, BUT STILL TILTED ROUGHLY FOUR-TO-ONE IN OBAMA’S FAVOR. . . 127 positive stories to 32 negative reports.

Barack Obama received his best press when it mattered most, as he debuted on the national scene, the MRC report observed. All three networks LAVISHED HIM with PRAISE when he was the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic Convention, and did NOT produce A SINGLE NEGATIVE STORY about Obama prior to the start of his presidential campaign in early 2007.

Obamas relationship with convicted influence peddler TONY REZKO was the subject of only two full network reports, one each on ABC and NBC, and was mentioned in just 15 other stories. Also, CBS and NBC INITIALLY DOWNPLAYED CONTROVERSIAL statements from Obamas long-time pastor Jeremiah Wright.

Obamas best press of this year came after he won the North Carolina primary on May 6. After that, 43 PERCENT of stories were FAVORABLE to Obama, compared to just 1 PERCENT that were CRITICAL.

The networks referred to Obama as a LIBERAL ONLY 14 TIMES in four years, while on twice as many occasions reporters referred to him as either a ROCK STAR, RISING STAR, or SUPERSTAR during the same period.

Of 147 average citizens who expressed an on-camera opinion about Obama, 114 were PRO-OBAMA, compared to just 28 that offered a NEGATIVE OPINION, with the remaining five offering a mixed opinion.

Brent Bozell said in a statement: This STUDY PROVES emphatically and without question that the Big Three networks had a horse in this years Democratic primary race. And that with their wall-to-wall, 24-hour daily assistance, NBC, ABC and CBS PROVIDED Sen. Barack Obamas MARGIN OF VICTORY.

As the LIBERAL MEDIAS ARDOR with Sen. Hillary Clinton evaporated, so too did the INEVITABILITY OF HER VICTORY. The press fixated their infatuated gazes on Sen. Obama, and AFFORDED HIM THE CRUCIAL COVERAGE AND SUPPORT he needed to win.

Read on folks . . . !

PART I: Report: Networks Gave Obama the Nomination

Report: Networks Gave Obama the Nomination

Wednesday, August 20, 2008 3:27 PM

By: Jim Meyers

An exhaustive, eight-year MEDIA RESEARCH CENTER STUDY of the Big Three TV networks coverage (ABC, CBS and NBC ) of Barack Obama shows that their FAVORABLE SPIN ON THE DEMOCRAT GAVE HIM HIS MARGIN OF VICTORY IN THE PRIMARIES, according to MRC president Brent Bozell.

The MRC notes that this year saw the CLOSEST NOMINATION CONTEST IN A GENERATION, with just one-tenth of a percentage point . . . 41,622 votes out of more than 35 million cast . . . separating Obama from Hillary Clinton when the Democratic primaries ended in June.

But BARACK OBAMA HAD A CRUCIAL ADVANTAGE OVER HIS RIVALS this year: the support of the national media, especially the three broadcast networks, an MRC report on the study states.

At every step of his national political career, network reporters SHOWERED the Illinois Senator with GLOWING MEDIA COVERAGE, building him up as a political celebrity and exhibiting LITTLE INTEREST in INVESTIGATING HIS PAST ASSOCIATIONS or EXPLORING THE CONTROVERSIES that could have threatened his campaign.

The Alexandria, Va.-based MRC logged every story, sound bite, and mention of Obama on ABC, CBS and NBC evening news telecasts from his first appearance on a network broadcast in May 2000 through the end of the Democratic primaries this past June . . .a total of 1,365 stories.

AMONG THE KEY FINDINGS:

The three broadcast networks ran 462 positive stories about Obama . . . .34 percent of the total . . . compared with only 70 stories (5 percent) that were critical.

NBC NIGHTLY NEWS was the MOST LOPSIDED, with 179 pro-Obama reports, more than 10 times the number of anti-Obama stories, 17.

Part 2 of 2

of the Brandenburg Gate where only Presidents have spoken (as if he has earned this); the venue he desired was not to be honored; it is not a venue for a Jr. U.S. senator and presidential wanna be to orate. B. Obama continually whine about him not being deserving of being picked on with negative ads? What makes him special, especially given the Top 3 networks have been proven to be biased:

6. The person is interpersonally EXPLOITATIVE, i.e., TAKES ADVANTAGE of others to achieve his or her own ends.

EXAMPLES: Associating and being friends with Tony Rezko (convicted felon in jail now); Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn (unapologetic terrorists); Rashid Khalidi (Palestinian radical Activist); his pastor friends and his church; the list is lengthy. He used (uses) anyone (even his own typical white maternal grandmother) - anything for political gains. . . And when it interferes with his political life he throws any person, policy, belief, etc. UNDER THE BUS.

7. LACKS EMPATHY: is UNWILLING TO RECOGNIZE OR IDENTIFY WITH THE FEELINGS and needs of others.

EXAMPLE: Obamas persistency in blocking his state bill (Illinois) for the Born Alive Protection bill when he served their as their state senator. Obamas reason for rejecting this state bill twice was said to be because the state versions wording did not adequately protect Roe v. Wade, when in fact, it did, when both bill was compared, side by side, and the wording was found to be exactly the same in both bills.

8. Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her.

EXAMPLE: Okay, this one is pretty open-ended and left to anyones personal opinions. Pretty crazy one to be able to pin down as an example.

9. Shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.

DEFINITION OF HAUGHTY: having or showing arrogant superiority to and disdain of those one views as unworthy.

EXAMPLE: Obama disdainfully spoke of us U.S. Americans (e.g. WE are the ONES who should be ashamed of US) for not learning or speaking a second language (like Spanish). . . He lectures us U.S. citizens . . He pooh pooh US about being concerned about immigrants learning English. What the . . . ?

Part 1 of 2

Narcissistic characteristics

It is defined as a person having a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), a need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by FIVE (5) or more of the following:

1. The person has a GRANDIOSE SENSE of SELF-importance (e.g., EXAGGERATES achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements).

EXAMPLE: Obama requested of the DNC to have an OPEN-AIR STADIUM for his acceptance speech at the democratic convention (and says he is doing it for his fans, when in fact he is doing it for himself, self-love.). Then there is the (hope for) an opportunity to speak before the Brandenberg Gate when he visited Germany? Errp…No go.

2. The person is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, POWER, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love:

EXAMPLE: I would say that if you add up his being applicable to the narcissistic characteristics from no. 1 and nos. 3 through 9, that in itself should back up Obamas desire for his pursuit in attaining power.

3. The person believes that he or she is SPECIAL and UNIQUE and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

EXAMPLE: Obama likes to say words DO matter. He is right about that.

In his own words he has said more than once: WE ARE THE ONES WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR. Translation? The Royal, WE, means: I AM the one we have been waiting for.

4. The person REQUIRES EXCESSIVE ADMIRATION.

EXAMPLES: Requested an OPEN-AIR STADIUM for his acceptance speech at the democratic convention (and says he is doing it for his fans, when in fact it is for himself); PLANTS FAKE FAINTERS in his audiences at his speaking events.

5. The person has a sense of ENTITLEMENT (i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations).

EXAMPLES: A. Obama requested Germany to consider letting him speak in front

(Continued in my post below - IS OBAMA NARCISSISTIC?)

Since I began blogging here in April I have stated that I was undecided as to the Presidential candidates (McCain vs Obama) and that has been true until this time. But I have reached a decision based on the information that Sharenews and others have brought to my attention regarding the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

I have been a nurse for over 25 years and approximately half of those were in NICU where I cared for infants that were as preterm as 24 weeks gestation. I am amazed that even though I keep current reading professional journals, and I watch the news daily that I was unaware of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. Since I have never participated in abortions, I was unaware that the practice of leaving an infant (that survived abortion) alone to die in a dirty utility room was common practice. I am unable to support any candidate for any office that would think that this could be anything other than murder. A baby that survives abortion deserves compassionate care at the VERY LEAST if it is not viable. If the baby is of viable age and weight, he or she needs to be treated the same as any baby that is abandoned and should be treated by NICU doctors/nurses and staff and given all chances at life. I am unable to support Obama for President given his position of opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection legislation. Going forward I will give all my support to the McCain campaign.

It is dispicable.

Which actually is good cuz Biden already looks like a man of Presidential strength as I watch the two of them on the stage; he needed Biden for the foreign policy background. But enough with all the talk about bad decisions being made about the war when OB ended up choosing a VP (oldtime Washington politician) who made that same decision as McCain. The talk again about change and then announcing Biden to me rang hollow; but I am glad that he picked Biden based on his foreign policy experience. Now all I need , dont know about others, is to see who McCain picks for his ticket. . .
