Far from being the simple folksy guy we saw last night, this is an educated, talented, multilingual businessman who has had successful international businesses on 5 continents. He speaks fluent Arabic. His grasp of energy issues and conservation issues is profound, as is his adeptness at finance.

He is also the democratic governor of a western state that used to go republcian. He is pro-gun. He would have made an excellent VP.

Obama is a smart man, and has campaigned in Montana on at least four separate occasions, and I'm sure he has had several conversations with Schweitzer about Schweitzer's many areas of expertise.

Expect that relationship to continue, to all of our benefits. And don't be surprised if the good citizens of Montana end up angry at Obama for taking Brian Schweitzer to Washington.

Where he belongs.

Say what you will about the South or the Mid-West but you can't get more "American" than Montana. The New Western Democrat (Schweitzer, Tester, Richardson, Ritter, Salazar) is the real story. Watch them ride into town in white hats and run the greedy company thugs out of town.
