So badly, in fact, that he choose a veep who has the same handicap he's always criticizing Obama for--inexperience. Only worse. In his first presidential decision, John McCain has shown he is willing to endanger his country, potentially leaving it in the hands of someone who simply has no business being a heartbeat away from the most powerful, complicated, difficult job in human history.

You're right in saying that the Obama campaign doesn't really have much ground to make that argument, but that's never been their argument. It's been the McCain camp's argment. How do they continue to make that argument with a VP with zero national security experience. If experience is off the table for both sides thats a win for Obama.

He has definitely dealt Obama and Biden the more experienced hand.

Does he want to win so badly that he would ignore the needs of the Country just to get into office? Appears that way!

Obama's VP is very capable. The combination of the two are powerful, while McCain comes across as a senile old man looking for his last "hoorah" instead of someone who has the Country's best interest at heart. By making such a spontaneous choice in the wake of Obama's speech at the Democratic convention, McCain shows that he would make irrational judgements if put on the spot while president. There was apparent intimidation.

It's a slap in the face of all women to assume that all of us are too ignorant to consider what's best for the country and would vote for someone with far less experience than McCain accused Obama of not having. We have had 8 years of ignorance...Must we have 4 more America?

McCain puts the final nails in Obama's coffin. Obama is going to be sorry for not picking Hillary, that's for sure. This is an exciting day for men, for women, for REAL change. McCain now has a great balance and all his bases covered. This is the beginning of the end for Obama and it's about time! Biden instead of Hillary? What was he thinking? He claimed to have wanted to unite his party, yet he tore it apart by kicking Hillary in the face. Paybacks are a bitch.

http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/what-is-mccain-thinking-one-alaskans-perspective/

Note: Barack Obama was a State Senator and is now a Federal Seantor who sits on the Foreign Relations Committee alongside Joe Bide, who is his More Experienced senator, liken unto JFK and LBJ, but Palin's so calle "Executive Experience" is a Rush Limbaugh-Sean Hannity ...JOKE on the American Populus...

MCCAIN-PALIN WILL.... LOSE

After extensive news coverage about all this nasty behind-the-scenes scandal, which is definitely NOT squeaky clean, Palin’s approval ratings fell to 67%, still high, but a far cry from the 90% number that’s being thrown around so glibly by the Republicans today. Alaskans are quickly becoming disillusioned once again.

“Executive Experience”

Before her meteoric rise to political success as governor, just two short years ago Sarah Palin was the mayor of Wasilla. I had a good chuckle at MSN.com’s claim that she had been the mayor of “Wasilla City”. It is not a city. Just Wasilla.

Wasilla is the heart of the Alaska “Bible belt” and Sarah was raised amongst the tribe that believes creationism should be taught in our public schools, homosexuality is a sin, and life begins at conception. She’s a gun-toting, hang ‘em high conservative. Remember…this is where her approval ratings come from.

There is no doubt that McCain again is making a strategic choice to appeal to a particular demographic - fundamentalist right-wing gun-owning Christians.

And Republican bloggers are already gushing about how she has ‘more executive experience’ than Obama does!

Above is a picture of lovely downtown Wasilla, for those of you unfamiliar with the area. Behind the Mug-Shot Saloon (the first bar I visited when I moved to Alaska long ago) is a little strip mall. There are street signs in Wasilla with bullet holes in them.

Note: Wasilla has a population of about 5500 people, and 1979 occupied housing units.

This is where your potential Vice President was two short years ago. Can you imagine her negotiating a nuclear non-proliferation treaty? Discussing foreign policy? Understanding non-Alaskan issues?

Frankly, I don’t even know if she’s ever been out of the country. She may ‘get’ Alaska, but there are only a half a million people here. Don’t get me wrong….I love Alaska with all my heart. I’m just saying.

I, and all Alaskans will be interested to see how this whole process unfolds. This is definitely a gamble for McCain, and in my humble opinion, a gift to Obama and to Joe Biden who just got thrown a big hunk of red meat for the vice presidential debate.

This is the wedge-issue, desperate ’Hail Sarah’ pass of the McCain campaign.

IS A GREAT ONE THIS WOMAN IS MORE LIKE YOU AND I! SHE IS NOT A WASHINGTON INSIDER AND I BELIEVE SHE WILL DO A GOOD JOB IF ELECTED! I STRONGLY FEEL IF GIVEN THE CHANCE SHE WILL TAKE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND PUT THEM FIRST! BECAUSE SHE IS UNADULTERATED BY THE POLITICANS OR LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON. I THINK SHE WILL DO WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT! AND IF GIVEN THE CHANCE SHE WILL BE AMERICA'S CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT IN 2012! SHE IS SMART AND WILLING TO GO TO TASK AS YOU CAN SEE FROM HER RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE LAST 16 YRS WHICH IS FAR MORE THAT BARACK OBAMA’S! TO SAY THAT PALIN IS NOT READY IF JOHN McCAIN'S HEALTH IS FAILING IS WRONG! SHE HAS MORE EXCUTIVE EXPERIANCE THAN OBAMA; SHE RAN A TOWN AND A STATE. ALBEIT FOR A SHORT TIME AS GOVENOR! BUT IT IS A LARGE STATE THAT IS JUST A (HEARTBEAT) AWAY FROM RUSSIA! AND SHE HAS DONE VERY GOOD THERE. IF OBAMA IS ELECTED THEN WE ARE PUTTING SOMEONE IN OFFICE THAT HAS NEVER EVEN RAN A SMALL CITY, HELL HE'S NEVER EVEN RAN A BUSINESS... HE IS THE ONE WE SHOULD BE SCARED OF NOT PALIN! AFTER ALL OBAMA NEEDED A VACATION FROM HIS CAMPAGIN.NOT McCAIN HE'S 72 AND RUNNING STRONG AND OBAMA NEEDED A REST, PLUS IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT ALL OBAMA DOES IS GIVE SPEECHS! HE HAS BEEN SCARED TO DEBATE McCAIN IN THE ELECTION RUN SO FAR ...TOO BAD HE' GOING TO BE FORCED TO DO IT NOW! FINALLY WE WILL SEE HIM STAMMER AND FAIL IN THE PUBLIC SPOTLIGHT. BECAUSE HE WILL HAVE NO TELEPROMPTER TO SHOW HIM WHAT TO SAY! AMERICA WILL SEE WHAT AN EMPTY SUIT HE IS AND HOW HE IS A LEFTIST LIBERAL WITH MARXIST TENDANCIES! HE IS OWNED BY THE MOVE-ON .ORG CROWD AND THE LIBERAL MEDIA! IF WERE NOT CAREFUL OUR RIGHTS WILL BE SLOWLY TAKEN AWAY! AND WE WILL BE STUCK IN A SOCIALIZED SETTING BORDERING COMMUNISM! HE IS A CONSTITUTION LAWYER SO HE KNOWS HOW TO MANIPULATE THE CONSTITUTION! AND IF ANYONE CARES TO DO RESEARCH ON HIM THEY WILL FIND OUT ABOUT ALL THE ANTI AMERICAN FREINDS THIS CANIDATE HAS! AND THAT SHOULD BE A GOOD ENOUGH REASON NOT TO ELECT HIM!

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7

To HarleyisHere...since you like sing and you like Obama I think you should go to GlennBeck.com

Put in the search bar on the Glennbeck.com site National Anthem It's all about Obama

Very, very funny and yet very, very scary at the same time.

To VMAC I guess you are so isolated in your own little world that you don't understand that there are women who actually believe in Pro-life besides Palin and WE TOO VOTE.

Also to VMAC... Obama doesn't even do what he preached on the =pay for =work topic. In his own campaign their are no women in the top ranks and the women in his campaign are not paid as well as men in the same positions. Since he is so into pay grades, if it were true that he paid= and promoted women to the top positions he would be showing us that he does it. He doesn't practice what he preaches tho.

Evax...you get my award for the most tackless comment this week and the competition in that catagory was very stiff indead. You state that Down's childern would be better off dead than alive. It takes a lot to be that ignorant. That fact that you would state it in black and white shows the depth of your ignorance. I can understand completely tho how you would be able to support a candidate that argued on more than one occassion for INFANTICIDE while in the IL legislature.

Evax and Obama are both in support of killing babies.

To Somerseten-More people turned Obama down than turned McCain down. Do the math before you post. While those on McCain's list that were passed over still spoke favorably about McCain, many of Obama's picks stated clearly they wouldn't even consider being his running mate. Makes me wonder what more they know about Obama that is distasteful that we don't know yet.

To DanQuaylewithaPonytail...Palin is more of a man than Dan Quayle could ever HOPE to be. I was living in IN when Quayle was here. Palin has more balls on her than Obama has on him. She will be a quick understudy for the Presidency and I have no doubt she could run this country and take the 3am phone call.

Sarah palin’s 17y/o daughter is pregnant but so is 2 million other unmarried teens in America! But because its Mrs. Palin’s kid that makes her a bad parent or not in touch with her children…. I guess all the other parents of the other 2 million are bad as well! But wait her husband got a d.u.i. 22 yrs ago and had an accident that caused some property damage so he’s an awful person according to the liberal democrats! It makes no difference that Joe biden is a long time big government spender all the while he claims to be a regular guy! He says I ride Amtrak everyday to work and home he fails to mention that that Amtrak ride costs 97 dollars a day! That’s about the amount of money that 25% Americans make day (they are the low income earners but before taxes they are considered middle class according to the government which is a bunch of bull in my opinion that’s at poverty level!) and he spends it on Amtrak yeah he a regular Joe! And barrack Obama well he’s no angel either he’s got some pretty bad bill’s hidden in his closet not to mention his admitted marijuana and cocaine use years ago but lets not talk about that says the liberal media lets talk about mr.palin’s d.u.i. Or the 17 y/o’s pregnancy this liberal bias in the media is getting a little aggravating but I think that the American people will see that this whole thing is leaning to far left and it will back fire in obama’s face costing him the chance at being the leader of the free world! It’s a shame that our election process has come to this! as you can see all the dirt being dug up is from the move-on.org idiots who wants those morons running the country they have obama in thier poket he's thier hand picked choice ! see mark's comment for proof !
