PAUL, Minn.--Over the next 60 days, I'm curious to see whether the McCain campaign will drastically restrict press access to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin--and, if so, whether that will make any difference with voters. I bring this up because Palin just

re: When Will Palin Meet the Press?

It seems Palin is not going to meet the press to discuss her policy, as much as McCain is not going to meet foreign leaders whom he disagrees with. While Palin wants to beat the press, McCain wants to bomb other countries. Trashing the hardwork and dedication community organizers, last night she shamelessly bragged about her PTA activities. She must have been so hyper-active in the PTA, that she did not realize her teenage daughter was pregnant!

She has much to answer for on her background and experience, the misinformation she has promoted and the fact that the Rebublicans are seriously scared to talk about any of the real issues that Americans care about since they are wrong on most of them.

This is how republicans give speaches: rarely do the facts support their positions or even the off the wall remarks. Her votes, Senior Huchabuck, were 909; Biden recieved 79,754

But there was nothing in her speech and she never told anything truthful about herself just a bunch of info that was totally false - even as the news about her is coming out in buckets. Her response to that was attacking the press..what a joke.

Explain why Levi Johnston shouldn't be arrested as a pedophile.

How can she protect the country if she can't protect her own kids from pedophiles?

This is his second child; the first was with a 13 year old girl. Even by Alaskan standards (which are very loose) that is a bit young.

Sick.... really sick... yea, we want her in the White House. Her and her husband are good evangelicals, and typical of the breed. But lets move on to other issues.

Her husband and daughter: is child #5 really Sarah's? I don' believe so after looking at family photos on the internet. The eldest daughter is the mother for sure, but is the father of that child Sarah's husband? Let's do a little DNA test.

Will she support states that wish to secede from the United States, since her and her husband were both in a party pushing to have Alaska secede from the Union?

Will she legalize pot since she smokes it herself?

Will she change her position and start supporting unwed mothers, particularly teens so they can finish an education through college?

Last night, this woman was pathetic. Nothing to say that was grounded in reality and less to say about solving our problems except continue the same old republican bull that has existed since Reagan and have proven a failure to all but the rich.

What a joke on McCain by his own party.

And today from the same group that exposed Edwards, the news is she had an affair...oh, no.

He'd better give the public access this woman... a relative unknown that he wants as his running mate, as our Vice President. Anything less is unpatriotic, unethical and obviously puts his campaign first. I hope the media doesn't roll over on this one. No one should let up on the McCain camp until Palin is fully investigated and interviewed. It's our right.

Aside from Campbell Brown the other day, the McCain Campaign gets a pass, from the Media.

And we know how the GOP responded to the Campbell Brown interview.

Then, after never being interviewed, Palin'll show up at the debate with Biden, and the Media will say *she hit a home run,* because she showed up.

And if Biden challenges her on anything, you guys will crucify him, for being tough with a lady.

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You went apesh** on Pres Clinton, for lying about his affair. Bush lies us into war... nothing. McCain has flipped on everything that earned him the *maverick* label, yet, the Media continues to push that McCain is a Maverick, Hero, GOP-Defying, Straight-Talking, Foreign Policy Wizard. Again... nothing from the Media on his flips.

You just allow the GOP to get away with anything.

I promise you, if you guys would make some noise, publicly - - *what is the McCain Campaign hiding?* Why won't they let her be interviewed? - - you'd be doing the Country a public service.

But, unfortunately, I've lost all respect for you guys, because you never do.

And you're failing to call out all the lies, the GOP is spewing. Even something so silly, like how the GOP is blaming the Dems (or Liberals) for the sorry state of the nation. The fact that the GOP has held the White House 28 of the last 40 years, including the last 8 years... nominated seven of the nine Supreme Court justices and held Congress for 12 of the last 14 years, including 6 of the last 8 years, is ignored.

What's missing from the Convention: having had the Presidency for 8 years, and Congress for 6 of those 8 years, why aren't they harping on all their *great* accomplishments over that period?

Instead, it's the Dems fault... and the Media's fault.

So much, for the Party of *Personal Responsibility.*

The " Press " ..I put them in the same category as William Ayers , Reverend Wright , Louis Farrakhan, Rev Pfleger , Tony Rezko , and any other radical , extremist , Anti-American group.

The mainstream press is bankrupt. Morally, intellectually and almost financially. You, the press, have totally, shamelessly, unapologetically, abdicated any vetting function regarding Obama. The man is a cipher. No one, including you, knows anything about him, and no one is asking. Look into the Annenberg foundation records. Look into what he actually did as an Acorn operative. No one has mentioned the failures of Biden that caused him to drop out of the Presidential race in 1988. Isn't he still a plagiarist? Just because Delaware is foolish enough to keep electing him doesn't change his record. And not one syllable, much less a word, has been written. Need I mention John Edwards? The man was a viable Democratic primary candidate, and you gave him a complete and total pass. You were upstaged by the National Enquirer, for Pete's sake.

So save your self righteous claptrap about who is going to look into Sarah Palin. You have no right to. Personally, I don't care what you write. It is as totally predictable as it will be meaningless.

The Obama-Biden, or should I say Obama Bin Biden campaign is behind this - the radipdity in which the "Bristol is the mom" crap hit the internet shows it was a coordinated attack that was well financed.

Now it’s become an anti-intellectual Christianist identity party (theology first, country second) that has too often elevated mediocrity to positions of authority. I include Harriet Miers and the US Attorney scandal in this. I’m not sure yet if Governor Palin is in this category (she can certainly give a good stump speech and seems a decent municipal-level manager), but her hasty selection, apparently on a whim with Lieberman and Ridge weren’t acceptable, speaks to a lack of seriousness about governing our country.

Now granted, the Democrats are associated with identity politics too (African-Americans, Latinos, etc.), but they’re not under the control of a single identity group this year, so they don’t scare me like the Republicans do.

When Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) introduced Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, he trumpeted her husband’s union membership:

“The person I’m about to introduce to you was a union member and is married to a union member, and understands the problems, the hopes and the values of working people,” he said. That day, and again last night, Palin also emphasized that her husband is “a proud member of the United Steelworkers Union.”

Conservatives are hoping the reference will play well in Michigan and Ohio. But the United Steelworkers union (USW) isn’t so pleased. USW President Leo Gerard noted that just because Todd Palin is a union member doesn’t mean that Palin is automatically qualified to represent labor interests:

It is important to realize that while the governor’s husband is a member of a union, this does not automatically qualify her for an on-the-job training program to become a heartbeat away from the presidency. And while her husband is one of 850,000 dues-paying members of the steelworkers union, it does nothing to absolve Sen. McCain of his long history of anti-union sentiment and anti-worker actions.

In fact, McCain’s hostility to unions and union priorities runs deep:

– McCain voted to block the Employee Free Choice Act, making it easier for workers to unionize. [6/26/07]

– McCain condemned unions as “serious excesses” and said government workers are “crippled” by union contracts. [10/9/07; 5/21/07]

– McCain voted to filibuster a minimum wage hike last year. [1/24/07]

– McCain voted against a bill protecting discrimination against workers who go on strike, effectively allowing companies to hire permanent replacements for striking workers. [S. 55, 7/13/94]

– McCain voted against an amendment providing more effective remedies to victims of gender discrimination in the payment of wages. [7/17/07]

Last night, Gerard demanded that Palin “stop using USW as a prop.” Noting McCain’s opposition to the top priorities on USW’s agenda, Gerard asked Palin:

Are you with McCain – and against workers – on these issues? If so, you need to stop using your husband’s membership in the USW as a prop, because then his union card cannot possibly cover up your or John McCain’s worker-savaging positions.

John McCain has selected Sarah Palin as his running mate for this election. There are great controversy surrounding McCain choice. First S. P. is a relatively new political figure with little experience who was the mayor of Wasilla and then governor of Alaska for less than two years. She claims that her seventeen years old daughter was pregnant with a five month old baby and her husband has a drunk driving record 22 years ago. There are simply too many gossips in this world and people are tired of them. The above negative publicity should not affect this VP candidate.

This is my own original truth political incorrect political analysis of Sarah Palin on her strong points as vice president candidate and possible contribution to vote and election:

(1) She is young, very pretty with great sex appeal to straight men and lesbian women.

(2) From the West mostly battle ground states such as Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington State. There is also potentials for a California victory which will definitely decisive on the whole election. Obama was born in Hawaii, Obama's defeat there will be his greatest humiliation.

(3) Alaska is one of the biggest oil producing state. When oil drilling is the number one issue in this election being a governor of Alaska will certainly help.

(4) By the same token, Alaska is the last remaining wilderness of the U. S. A. It is a good opportunity for the Republican to show their concern of the Environment by using Sarah Palin

(5) Her pregnant teenage daughter will draw sympathy from those who were teenage unwedded mothers and pro-life anti-abortion voters. Single mothers will also be attracted to the Republican Party.

(6) She was the military commander of the Alaska Air National Guard which is useful experience for a future Commander-in-Chief of the country. McCain was also a professional soldier himself. Everyone knows that Alaska is bordering Russia and near China and Japan with one fourth of all U. S. nuclear missiles located in that state.

(7) She is a woman therefore will attract women voters.

(8) Sarah Palin represent the only executive administrative experience of both Republican and Democratic Party. All the candidates McCain, Obama and J. Bidden have only legislative experience.

(9) Sarah Palin represents White who have been displaced from the lower 48 states due to crimes and harassments from Blacks there. Those White have little or no choice but to seek Northern Exposure living in Alaska seeking peace and quiet. They will certainly revenge Black intimidation and harassments.

(10) She also represents tradition White American family of the Puritan values as opposed to those predominately single parent unwedded mother type Black family. This is probably best describe Palin's social status.

(11) Neither McCain nor Palin are political correct. They only speak the truth and are very "genuine, what you see is what you get!" as quoted from an Alaskan Republican Convention delegate. The same apply to me, I am genuine and only speak the truth whether you like it or not. That's why I hand pick McCain and Palin.

McCain and Palin will be elected then formed secret police to get rid of their Black opponents.

My words though usually hard to swallow are truth. Politically correct and sweet words which are lies and deceptions will hurt our world. I am surprise how ignorant men have become! Why they have to come to this stage. How stupid are you people?

•PALIN: "[Obama] is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word 'victory' except when he's talking about his own campaign."

FACT: On July 15, in a speech in Washington, D.C., Obama twice used the word "victory" in reference to Iraq.

"In fact," he said, "true success in Iraq -- victory in Iraq -- will not take place in a surrender ceremony where an enemy lays down their arms. ... I want Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future, and to reach the political accommodation necessary for long-term stability. That's victory. That's success. That's what's best for Iraq, that's what's best for America, and that's why I will end this war as president.

--------------------------

A week later in Berlin, Germany, on July 23, Obama used the word "victory" three times to describe Allied successes during World War II. And in a June speech about the prospect of universal health care, he said Sen. Hillary Clinton "will be central to that victory."

----------------------

•PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform -- not even in the state senate."

-----------------------

FACT: The meaning of "major" is open to debate, but Obama worked with Republicans, including Sen. Richard Luger of Indiana, to pass legislation that would expand efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to destroy conventional weapons stockpiles.

While a state senator in Illinois, he sponsored two contentious bills, one that studied racial profiling by police and another that ordered interrogations in potential death penalty cases to be recorded.

-----------------------

•PALIN: "I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly $40 billion natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.

That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart."

--------------------------

FACT: That infrastructure project has not yet been approved by federal regulators. The proposed pipeline would ship natural gas from the Alaska's North Slope to homes and businesses across the United States. In June, the Alaskan legislature, with Palin's prodding, agreed to pay Canadian energy company TransCanada $500 million as an incentive to build the pipeline.

-------------------

•PALIN: "And I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending: nearly half a billion dollars in vetoes. I suspended the state fuel tax and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks, but no thanks,' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

-----------------

FACT: While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin hired Steven Silver, a former chief of staff for Sen. Ted Stevens, to lobby Congress for earmarks. Wasilla received around $27 million in federal money, about as much as Boise, Idaho. Boise has a population of 200,000 people, compared with Wasilla's 10,000. Earmarked funds went to sewage improvements and improving roads connecting the town to a local ski resort.

-------------------

As for the Bridge to Nowhere, Palin initially supported using federal funds to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to Gravina Island, which has 50 residents and a small airport.

It was not until the plan was ridiculed that she withdrew her support. Critics contend she still supports using federal money to build a 3.4 mile Road to Nowhere on the island for $26 million -- from the funds for the bridge.

-------------------------

•PALIN: While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for. That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay. I also drive myself to work.

-----------------

FACT: Soon after entering office, Palin put the state-owned Westwind II jet that her predecessor Frank Murkowski purchased amid much criticism. When the deal fell through with the sole eBay bidder, the plane was sold offline.

Alaskan businessman Larry Reynolds paid $2.1 million for the jet after learning about it from Republican John L. Harris, speaker of the Alaskan House of Representatives.

Palin, as she said, drives herself to work. In July, her Chevy Suburban was rear-ended while driving from Wasilla to her office in downtown Anchorage.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Obama took an active role in the Senate's drive for improved border security and immigration reform. In 2005, he cosponsored the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

-------------------------------------

He later added three amendments to the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act", which passed the Senate in May 2006, but failed to gain majority support in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act, authorizing construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States–Mexico border.

President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act into law in October 2006, calling it "an important step toward immigration reform."

--------------------------------------------

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discuss the Coburn-Obama Transparency Act.

Partnering first with Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar-Obama" expands the Nunn-Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines.

------------------------------------------

The Lugar-Obama initiative subsequently received $48 million in funding.

The "Coburn-Obama Transparency Act" provides for the web site USAspending.gov, managed by the Office of Management and Budget. The site lists all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward and provides breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the dollar amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract.

In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the "Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act," marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.

----------------------------------------

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.

Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election,

--------------------------------------------------------

Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel."

He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.

The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfair and improper, others defending his positions.

110th Congress

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D–WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007.

-------------------------------------

He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.

Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.

---------------------------

Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007," a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.

He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.

-------------------------------------------

A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.

Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.

After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans.

---------------------------------------------------

Oh, don't bother little Miss Sarah....she is new at this national media thing. (Translation: she will say or do something STUPID to damage the party) Obama was a mere babe when put up against Hillary for the first few months. HE would absolutely NOT debate her. However, he grew some backbone and underwent massive training and grew as a candidate to compete with her on a public viewpoint. Palin only has 2 months to get in the groove. Her debate opponent is BIDEN. She probably has NO time to mess with the press if she will be going toe to toe with BIDEN. He is GOOD and she will have to at least hold her own to keep any respect she has gained at the RNC. It's easy to say nasty things to your opponent when they are not in the ring, but when you are going hand to hand inside the ring....that is when you see their TRUE abilities.

Who is the "we" here, Mr. Romano? What sense of entitlement entitles you to demand more? "We" the public got an hour long interview with Sarah Palin, and she passed with flying colors. Even after you had three or four days to try to destroy her. If she talks to you at ALL, you should consider yourself lucky. As for the rest of us, we do not need YOU, not one minute's worth, to figure her out. And I believe many of us have, and are quite satisfied.

Palin's SPEECH was not an INTERVIEW. There is a VERY big and important difference. Lots of people can give a good speech. She gave a very good speech. "We" as citizens of this country should demand from a potential leader -- democrat, republican, whatever -- that they are able to do more than give a good speech.

People are glad they got to examine Obama and McCain over the past 18 months. Joe Biden has had press access from the start. Seems like the same people who wanted a fire lit under Senator Obama, are afraid to have Governor Palin put to the same test. Why is this? After all, she might be their Vice President! I have a feeling that it has more to do with being high from her good speech at the convention. When we fall in love, we are afraid to examine too closely or we might lose what feels so good right now. By the way, if they are so confident about her, why must they keep her on a leash and keep the press away?

Anyone else got a creepy feeling in their gut? I sure hope so.

A candidate announces an unknown, totally unexpected vice presidential running mate. Off the record, high level people, from the same party, say they know the VP nominee was a rushed selection and the vetting process was abbreviated, the candidate says this isn't so. No one was sent to the nominee's state, where she is governor, and that governorship is the criteria used to as evidence of candidate's credibility, to speak to anyone there who has worked with her until after the selection is announced. They claim if they did that it would ruin the surprise. The presidential candidate admits to only actually meeting his VP selection one time. When the media reports these undisputed facts, even by the campaign's admission, the campaign responds by calling the media biased and sexist.

The VP candidate is introduced to her fellow party members, and the world via television, at the RNC. She gives a stirring, well recieved speech that consists mostly of sarcastic, smug, criticism of the opposing candidate with very little mention of policy, then she disappears to a hotel room where she is cloistured out of public and media view. All media access to her is cut off. She is not allowed to answer any questions. While the VP of the other party is under the heat of "Meet the Press", she is being given a crash course in national and foreign policy.

Days after her speech at the convention, there is still no press access. There is talk of her doing shows like Ellen Degeneres and Larry King, which will be controlled and only certain questions allowed. When it is suggested that she should be treated like all the other candidates and take questions from the media, there is wrath. The media is being sexist and unfair.

In the meantime, there is a short two and a half months left before election day. There are some people who feel that her speech at the convention was sufficient. They are ready to mark a box next to her name because they liked how much she didn't like the other guy running, or they will vote for that party no matter what. There are others who need more information than that but may not get any more.

Obviously, this is really not hypothetical at all. How do you all feel about this? In my entire adult life, and I am not young, I have never observed anything like this. It scares me. I pray that Americans will demand to see the unscripted Sarah Palin before voting for her. It is way too serious a time in our country's history to hand the next in charge position to someone who refuses to answer questions about policy. Why is that, anyways?

A Vice Presidential Candidate manages to get in front of the American electorate without being tarred and feathered by the press in order to "prep" the sensibilities and opinion of the people who see her for the first time. People are able to see and hear her without preconceived opinions. And she does very very well. This out-of-sequence appearance threw the press and the opposing side into turmoil. Now they are going to have to work much harder and be a bit more devious in how they criticize her. It was worth it if nothing else to see Keith Olbermann sputtering and stammering. There will be plenty of time for the most vigorous, ambitiously destructive, agenda-driven forces of the press and the Obama/Biden cabal to have their way with her before the election. She will do quite well - maybe even better than that - given the viewing public will now have a much different response in how much credence it places in the press attacks -and the attacks have already begun. MSNBC is already broadcasting that she will have to "cram" for the debates with Biden who himself had some really wacky ideas about Iraq during the debates. Stark differences in policy on both sides will be revealed in both the Prez and the VP debates - not to worry. The press will tell us what we really heard and they will have legions of people fact checking to find fault. The American people should always keep in mind that the press is not elected and it has much more power than most people realize - and is more effective in shaping public opinion on important issues than any of our elected officials. Now that's scary.

Born, raised and winding his life through in and about war he tells us his story...

Yet it does not seem to matter to him that the Vietnam War in which he served was an imperialistic nationalistic blunder to stop communism from taking over the world! The pro war hype of that era would have our nation believe we were in grave danger- "fear" was once again our guiding light!

I was a young boy. I witnessed this abomination of our nation going into that war- “stop the communists, they are taking over the world!” That was the word of the day. "The domino effect will..."

McCain, even to this day feels betrayed by the American peace movement as to why the Vietnam War was lost. This is familiar ground as the current American War culture (The GOP) has manifest itself once again in Iraq!

The Iraq War, a war that McCain said we needed and voted for! Yet another war that historically will go down as a political assignation of our constitution and our cultural beliefs! Another huge loss of national equity and the betrayal of our beloved youth all for the political ego and a lack of political wisdom!

Wars are won or lost by the rightness of the participants Mr. McCain!

His voting record parallels the GOP- a 10% difference from the GOP is supposed to define his presidency, define his given name the “Maverick?”

His record cannot be hidden, his ideology is full of contradiction-flip flops!

President Bush said, “Im the War president, Im the War president!”

It most definitely seems there is another one named John McCain following in the wings!

I truly hope he is not the next!

And as Mccain portrays himself as different from "W" who do I see at the republican convention directing the RNC program? Karl Rove!

I don't understand how the McCain campaign can switch VP selction at the last minute (many have already stated that they had to rewrite the acceptance speech because it was "too manly") and not think that there would be plenty of questions from the press and the public as well. We have only 2 short months to get to know Palin and her viewpoints, what her main focus on fixing our economy will be, etc. I've noticed that they are keeping her away from any serious press media and hardcore questions, which makes me suspicious. Could it be that she is not as shiny and sparkly as the Republican packaging that she has been presented in? If she wants to hang with the political heavyweights and vie for the position of VP, then she needs to suffer the same scrutiny. I have a feeling that they want to ensure that she doesn't start publicly voicing her right wing viewpoints, which does not represent mainstream America. I found the posturing of McCain/Palin and Republican Party to be a sad sorry mess. They will do anything to stay in power. I wouldn't trust any of them to tell me the sky is blue!

However Palin is being protected from the press, which is totally unheard of and absurd for a VP pick.

McCain told the press to back off and quit asking questions, which is an affront to my right to make an informed decision, (which, I suspect is the actual agenda).

The very act itself, of coddling Palin should set women back a few years as they transform her into a trophy VP.

Hence I see the "pitbull" presentation of Palin as nothing more than an overcompensation of this whole event.

Coddling a VP?

I think Hillary might be laughing her brass ovaries off over this.

I was watching CNN and apparently McCain/Palin are campaigning together, The label they slapped on it is the McCain/Palin road test.

Is "road test" a new republican code word for "this VP needs her hand held?" The "pitbull" that is a heartbeat away from the presidency?

A candidate should be able to speak for himself/herself about the issues concerning Americans.

If this woman cannot speak for herself or is not allowed to speak her own works than we really have something/someone to worry about. This speaks volumes about John McCain's judgment and mental state.

When it comes to Obama - who has done well, absolutely nothing worthy of being a president - they want him to be the candidate. Why? He used cocaine while he studied at Harvard University, a University where the President of the place is under scrutiny due to his poor attitude towards female faculty. Obama has written 2 self serving books about himself - but no important piece of legislation. Senators are supposed to write legislation - he wrote 2 self serving books. He has written no important legislation. He claims he will find Bin Laden - but fails to tell us where Bin Laden is today. Does he think it comes from using drugs? perhaps....

Todd & Sarah Palin: (2) Alaskan Secessionist !!

-------------------------------------------------

Note: The Alaskan Independence Party's objective has been to get AIP Members, to become a part of either Democrat or Republican Party's, then use those members to Achieve their Objectives and that is to have the Oil, Gas & Natural Resources State of Alaska to Secede this Union, making the Union 49 States, opposed to 50. The AIP believes that the Vote to make ALASKA the 49th state in the Union, was an ILLEGAL and CORRUPT VOTE, therefore the VOTE was ILLEGAL and such a VOTE is to be VOIDED !!!

------------------------------------------------------

This Woman, Sarah Palin was not Vetted at All and she's a FRAUD !!!

In the mid-1990s, the Alaskan Independence Party was experiencing a boom of sorts. A governor had been elected on its ticket in 1990, when the party was not even a decade old. And membership was swelling. Among the new recruits was Todd Palin, whose wife, Sarah, would later become governor…

The Palins attended the party’s convention in their hometown, Wasilla, in 1994, according to party officials, where the party called for a revote on statehood and a draft constitution for an independent Republic of Alaska. Mr. Palin joined the party. Ms. Palin remained a Republican and never joined the Alaskan Independence Party, but returned to its convention in 2006 to speak as candidate for governor. After she had been elected, she recorded a video greeting that was played at the party convention this year. “Good luck on a successful and inspiring convention,” she said. “Keep up the good work, and God bless you.”

Now that she is the Republican nominee for vice president — for a campaign whose motto is “Country first” — the couple’s interaction with the Alaskan Independence Party has gotten attention because of its reputation as a secessionist group. Alaskan Independence Party officials released a statement Monday saying that Ms. Palin had been a member for two years, from 1994 to 1996, information included in reports in The New York Times and other news outlets. In Internet videos of recent party meetings, other party officials can be seen boasting of Ms. Palin’s past membership.

On Tuesday, though, the party’s chairwoman, Lynette Clark, said the earlier statement was false. Ms. Clark said that she had based it on information another party member had given her, but that a review of the records showed only that Ms. Palin had attended the 1994 conference. Ms. Clark added that while the review confirmed Todd Palin as a member, it did not indicate that Ms. Palin had been one.

On Wednesday, Ms. Clark released a corrected statement, saying, in part, “I, foolishly, repeated and accepted as fact what an officer of this membership shared with myself, and husband Dexter Clark, over a year ago.”

Ms. Palin has been registered as a Republican since May 1982, according to the State Division of Elections. Mr. Palin registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party in 1995, remaining a member for all but two months of the next seven years, until he registered as an undeclared voter in July 2002.

he Alaskan Independence Party’s Web site, akip.org, which includes the motto “Alaska First — Alaska Always” in its banner, describes party members as seeking “a range of solutions to the conflicts between federal and local authority,” including “advocacy for state’s rights, through a return to territorial status, all the way to complete independence and nationhood status for Alaska.” It calls for repatriation of lands held by the federal government “to the state and people of Alaska,” as well as, among other issues, the right to home-school children and the privatization of government services.

Ms. Clark objected to descriptions of her party as secessionist, saying it advocates “states’ rights” and “state sovereignty.” Ms. Clark said she interpreted Ms. Palin’s attendance at the 1994 convention as reflecting an interest in hearing a variety of perspectives. “Her heart is very Alaskan,” she said, “and we have Alaskan issues.”

PLEASE, DON'T MISTAKE HER !!!

"The War In Iraq is for Oil"

"The War in Iraq, is for Natural Resources"

She also said that she "Like or Agreed with Sen. Obama's Energy Plan"

She also Thanked Obama for the "Stimulus Checks The Alaskan People and Americans Recieved this Summer, Because the Alaskan People were really being HIT HARD by the HIGH PRICE of GAS and OTHER EXPENSES"

How is this Witch going to be able to AVOID these Contradictions...How in the He!! will she be able to DANCE AROUND HER OWN WORDS !!!!

She was for the so called Bridge to Nowhere, until it was politically expediant to be Against it and the Governemnt REFUSED to give her MORE MILLIONS to accomplish the job.

The So Called Alaskan Gas Pipeline, Palin Bragged about in her Speech Wednesday, WILL NOT BE FINISHED UNTIL THE YEAR (2019) !!!

Palin is Not Against Government Hand outs, in EarMarks as she Claimed in her SPEECH, the town of Wasilla LIVES OFF GOVERMENT MILLIONS at then Mayor Palin's REQUEST !!!

The People of Kitchakin Alaska surely did not feel that their Town ws Nowhere they are Pissed at Palin for Demeaning their Town, their People and the Bridge She Supported !!!

You know "The Little Guys, the ones she is suppose to Champion, the ones she Promised she would help by building this Bridge"

This Witch is a FRAUD !!

The Jr. Senator will PROVE, he's done Much More than What Sarah Palin & R. Giuliani Described & Demeaned Wednesday Night !!

---------------------------------------

Barack Obama: Has State & National Laws Confirmed by the State of illinois & The National Law, Signed by the Your Republican "Savior of the Free World" President George W. Bush Jr

Question: Has Sarah Palin or Rudy Giuliani ?

Ans: He!! No !!!

109th Congress

(1) She is young, very pretty with great sex appeal to straight men and lesbian women.

This is the oldest marketing ploy in the advertising playbook! C'mon! Do you really think that the die-hard Hillary supporters and women in general, will suddenly jump on the Palin bandwagon because she's a woman? As Hillary so eloquently poised the question to her supporters at the DNC, "Did you support me because of me, or because you feel strongly about my positions?" Smart people can easily see through this ploy by the McCain/Rove machine. Sex appeal may work for selling Lamborghini's but it WON'T work for selling an individual's ability to step into the White House. And since she apparently has so much sex appeal, why can't we see more of her. Usually if someone's sexy, we'd like to SEE more of them...I guess the right-wing neocons are too busy briefing her on their talking points.

(2) From the West mostly battle ground states such as Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington State. There is also potentials for a California victory which will definitely decisive on the whole election. Obama was born in Hawaii, Obama's defeat there will be his greatest humiliation.

What bubble are you living in? McCain/Palin will win Alaska, simply because of she's from there. But states like CA, OR, HI and WA are much more "blue" than "red". Particularly on issues involving the environment/global warming which Palin seems to deny. Even Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is NOT in favor of offshore drilling. <a href = http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/national/2008/06/18/schwarzenegger-still-opposes-offshore-drilling.html>Schwarzenegger Still Opposes Offshore Drilling</a>

(3) Alaska is one of the biggest oil producing state. When oil drilling is the number one issue in this election being a governor of Alaska will certainly help.

Alaska is swimming in money. Palin is responsible for making Alaska the state with the most goverment monies per capita! It's about the only state where the federal government is actually PAYING people to live in. Alaska is tops in the nation in earmarks from the feds. Working with Republican Senator Ted Stevens, Palin requested 31 earmarks totaling $197 million — more, per person, than any other state. Alaska is the most cash-flushed state in the nation while nearly every other state is wallowing in debt. She supported the "Bridge to Nowhere" but when it became national news, she decried it. And the topping on the cake? She along with now indicted Sen. Stevens secured nearly $27million in fed money for her home town of Wasilla. That's nearly $3,000 per person for a town of only 9,000. Plus there's no state income tax or sales tax! And it also helps that gas prices have broken the stratosphere.

(4) By the same token, Alaska is the last remaining wilderness of the U. S. A. It is a good opportunity for the Republican to show their concern of the Environment by using Sarah Palin

Have you seen Palin's record on the environment? She agrees with hunting wolves from the air, which is actually ILLEGAL and is suing the Federal Government because it placed polar bears on the endangered species list! And she believes that global warming is not man made! A putrid attempt by the right to look "environmental". And do we really want Alaska looking like swiss cheese?

(5) Her pregnant teenage daughter will draw sympathy from those who were teenage unwedded mothers and pro-life anti-abortion voters. Single mothers will also be attracted to the Republican Party.

(6) She was the military commander of the Alaska Air National Guard which is useful experience for a future Commander-in-Chief of the country. McCain was also a professional soldier himself. Everyone knows that Alaska is bordering Russia and near China and Japan with one fourth of all U. S. nuclear missiles located in that state.

This has GOT to be the DUMBEST argument by the right since it introduced Dan Quayle into the national scene! It's actually the feds who make all the decisions on what the national guard does! And as for foreign policy experience? Proximity DOES NOT make you an expert on anything. Heck, since I live near Denver, I guess that means I am an geology expert since the mountains are so close! And about as "foreign" as Palin gets is dealing with the occasional fishing rights. And I DON'T think Putin's first concern is fishing rights!

(7) She is a woman therefore will attract women voters.

See my argument in #1.....again, McCain has now shown that he really does pander to women!

(8) Sarah Palin represent the only executive administrative experience of both Republican and Democratic Party. All the candidates McCain, Obama and J. Bidden have only legislative experience.

Simple. Biden has over 30 years experience not only dealing with Washington (and telling it like it is) but also ample foreign policy experience). Obama has done the following: Senator Obama has sponsored or co-sponsored 570 bills in the 109th and 110th Congress.Senator Obama has sponsored or co-sponsored 15 bills that have become LAW since he joined the Senate in 2005. Senator Obama has also introduced amendments to 50 bills, of which 16 were adopted by the Senate. For even more legislation he's sponsored, cosponsored visit <a href = http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/21/164117/783/290/461422><Daily Kos: Obama's Senate Record></a>

(9) Sarah Palin represents White who have been displaced from the lower 48 states due to crimes and harassments from Blacks there. Those White have little or no choice but to seek Northern Exposure living in Alaska seeking peace and quiet. They will certainly revenge Black intimidation and harassments.

HUH?!! If this doesn't smack of racism, I don't know what does! I won't even answer that charge!

(10) She also represents tradition White American family of the Puritan values as opposed to those predominately single parent unwedded mother type Black family. This is probably best describe Palin's social status.

HMMM...let's see here....Puritan values? Maybe before she preaches she better practice. The last I looked, she's got an unwedded pregnant daughter (Palin's vetoed legislation helping unwed mother by the way) who she now parades out in front of millions of people. She says that it is predestined by God that we attack Iraq and the middle east and that we should pray for more oil and that her pastor says that anyone who voted for John Kerry should go to hell. (and don't bring up Obama's Rev. Wright issue, he came out and denounced him publicly for what he said and brought the issue of race smack dab on America's doorstep in Philadelphia) See more eye-popping sermons at <a href = http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/02/palins-church-may-have-sh_n_123205.html><Church May Have Shaped Palin's World View></a>

I'm not sure which McCain or Palin you're talking about. What speech did you see at the RNC? I don't consider the RNC attacks on Barack's community service organizing "speaking the truth". The number of people Obama organized throughout Chicago trumps anything Palin's done in her time as governor and mayor. All of the shots taken at Obama and Biden during that speech have been THOROUGHLY debunked. The AP actually had to release a fact sheet debunking what she claimed! Now you can't get any more unbiased than AP, so don't cry fowl at the media for that one! See <a href = http://news.yahoo.com/story/ap/20080904/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_fact_check/print><GOP Stretches Truth at RNC></a> Again, probably 90% of what she said during that speech was written by Rovianites. All they did was roll her on stage and pull the string on her back and off she went.

And now the McCain campaign can't take the media questioning her? So they lock her up in a box and will only trot her out for a debate? OUI! If the Repubs think that the American people are that ignorant and ill-informed, they've got a rude awakening on Nov. 4th!

NOW LOOK YOURSELVES IN THE MIRROR AND THE MIRROR IS SARAH PALIN AND MORE IS COMING OUT ON THAT FRAUD, TRYING TO CAPITALIZE OFF HILLARY CLINTON'S HARD EARNED VOTES ...

I do not think it will work. The American people will not stand for it. I personally do not care about her prepared speech she gave, I was not impressed. I thought she was crass, and frankly the fake cynasim was nauseting. I do not know anything about her other than her number of children she has, her husband's name is Todd, and she is the governor of Alaska. It will not do, for her to avoid the press. She is so critical of Obama, but at least he has been through the meat grinder of the press, some times he won and some times he lost. Johnny and the gang should have let her stay in Alaska if they do not want her to feel the heat. What are they afraid of?

Palin needs to stand up or go home. It would appear she's not as prepared to be VP as she would like for us to think she is. She gave the same speech on the road yesterday as she did on wed. night. Come on Palin, give the american people some answers of your own, not the well written ones that are handed to you.

IF SHE HAD BEEN VETTED LIKE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN, THIS SLOW DRIP OF ALARMING FACTS WOULD NOT BE EMERGING AS THEY ARE. FOR THE SAKE OF THIS COUNTRY, I HOPE THE JOURNALISTS DO THE RIGHT THING AND INFORM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT WHAT WE MIGHT BE FACING IF McCAIN SOMEHOW MANAGES TO WIN THIS ELECTION. HE IS A 72YR OLD MAN WHO HAS HAD CANCER 3 TIMES AND HAS SPENT YEARS AS A YOUNG MAN IN A POW PRISON CAMP BEING TORTURED AND STARVED. I ADMIRE HIM FOR HIS SERVICE TO THIS COUNTRY, BUT AMERICA MUST FACE REALITY. HE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO SERVE A FULL TERM. WHAT IF SOMEONE LIKE PALIN ACTUALLY HAD TO ASSUME POWER? CITIZENS PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND YOUR OWN VETTING OF SARAH PALIN BEFORE HEADING TO THE POLLS IN NOVEMBER.

Which so far does not impress me! I think she shoud not get a free pass on her teen daughters pregnancy. THe right wind media critized Jamie Lynn Spears and called her parents unfit!!!! I think Palin owes it to American woman on what kind of sex education she would fund GOD FORBID she become president. This woman better wake the hell up and think about their daughters and grandaughters even their sons and grandsons! I have heard men they say they will vote for her because she hunts and fishes!

The Bill Ayers Story is retarded, the Man is a University Professor, is not this Terror to the Nation as you would assess him to be... If Ayers was this National Security or TERRORIST THREAT to AMERICA...

Ayers would be... A.) In Federal Prison For Life or B.) Dead as a Door Knob...

The CIA, The FBI and the President would make Bill Ayers REAL HISTORY !!

So Stop the Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh & Anne Coulter A!! Wiping and Bull-Spitting..OK

2.This Story is not about Mike Wooten, who has Admitted to his WRONGDOINGS, He's STILL an Alaskan Policeman. Wooten was only Suspended 5 Days. He's still a Policeman. Everybody knows that policemen by an large are Steroided Out, Mental Cases, with a Badge an Most have Citations of Varying Degrees, based on how long they've served and what Department. If He Really Threatened Palin's Father, Why is Wooten STILL an Alaskan Police Officer, if he is such a Violent and Dangerous man ..Hmmm

It seems that his 4 Former Wives and Sarah Palin are still Alive, how big of a Threat is he ?

Note: Its the Alaskan Security Administrator, whom Palin Fired and Palin's Administrations Constant Harassment and Bullying, via Palin's ABUSE OF POWER, THAT HAS HER P-SSY IN A RINGER...

NOT WOOTEN..I REPEAT NOT WOOTEN....

WOOTEN IS THE DISTRACTION...

IT'S SARAH PALIN THAT IS THE FOCUS, BASED ON "ABUSE OF POWER"

PALIN GETTING ILLEGAL ACCESS TO WOOTEN'S RECORDS. WHICH IS AGAINST ALASKAN STATE LAW, MAYBE EVEN FEDERAL LAW ?

WOOTEN IS SCOTT FREE...

PALIN SHOULD'VE LEFT IT ALONE, LIKE NOT LEAVING THAT LIBRARIAN ALONE, WHO SUED AND WON AND HAS HER LIBRARIAN JOB BACK.

SARAH PALIN: IS A GOOD OLE GIRL POLITICIAN, WHO JUST LIKE ANY "GOOD OLE GIRL" IS DOING WHAT THE "GOOD OLE BOYS DO" NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL AND SHOULD BE SCRUTINIZED LIKE THE "GOOD OLE BOYS"

"A PIT BULL WITH LIPSTICK."...

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A PIT BULL B!TCH DOG...AVOID A GOOD FIGHT..HMMMMM

HE!! NO...

THIS B!TCH IS A FRAUD, NOW THE PRO-REPUBLICANS ARE CALLING "SEXISM"

WHEN PALIN SAID THAT "HILLARY WAS WHINING"

THE B!TCH HAS BEEN ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL FOR 1 1/2 WEEKS AND ALREADY WHINING LIKE A B!CTH POODLE OPPOSED TO A "PIT BULL"

"A PIT BULL WITH LIPSTICK" HAD THE DEMOCRATS BRANDED HER WITH SUCH A LABEL, SHE WOULD AND THE PRO-REPUBLICAN MEDIA, WOULD'VE CALLED IT A SEXIST TERM !!!

Hilary didn't think the press was fair to her but she kept meeting with them and answered their tough questions.

If you're telling people you're tough and a reformer than meeting the press should not be a problem. You can't be someone afraid of judgement when you are stating how tough you are. How will she handle Putin, Iraq, Iran or Pakistan? She can't even face the American press.

I'm sure it takes time to have all of the info drilled into your head to make it seem like you've been aware of them all along. I can't help but feel like we are being scammed and forced an illusion of a qualified candidate. She's great..see America?...just don't ask her any questions.

She is not prepared and adequately experienced to be a vice-president. This is not a partisan comment but a common-sense one.

She may be smart but has not been exposed to all the stress of being a vice-president. She was a governor of a small State. She is not used to assimilating so much information about everything under the sun. She is not adequately informed of what it takes to be number two. Here scope is limited. In a nutshell she does not have it right now to be McCain's running mate.

The fact that she has been in "hiding" from the press is shameful. For sure Obama hides from no one. They may say the guy is arrogant because he is confident and prepared, but that is what it takes to lead. Palin and her supporters evoke "sexism" and "press bias" for any comment that may not be in her favour. This is really dishonest and hypocritical. They have been dumping so much garbage on Obama and he keeps coming. He is seasoned and she is not. McCain is protecting her. She will not have protection when dealing with tough foreign leaders or international issues or national controversies.

Standing in front of a podium and mocking one's opponent, and not giving any substantial food for thought, apart form telling them she is a "hockey mom" , "pitbull" is not what is important. Then when she is attacked she cries "fowl". This is akin to seeing kids fighting. She should have been out there answering questions and informing people of the campaign's policies, just like Biden is doing. I am very sceptical that she can deliver much more than moose meat.

Palin is in intensive training, but she is in a world that she does not know. For all their efforts Palin cannot be trained to stand the scrutiny of the press as a V.P. candidate. Biden is already able to take the reins if necessary whereas Palin will never have that ability, even though she is much more likely to be called to finish McCain's term (if he could be elected.)

I know that stranger things have happened, after all Bush II got elected, TWICE!

Sarah Palin will prove to be another "Show Pony" for John McCain. All show and no substance!

Pony up Palin.

Get it over with, the joke is over. Let's hear what you have to say, "for yourself!"

That will only occur after he doesnt follow through with anything good that he promised... and when he rolls Americans under the bus for our enemies... His character has shown time and again how much loyalty he has for us.... Remember the REV. WOW, Cant believe with all the facts you guys are on that side... Hope you guys get it straight before the election.

Keeping Palin out of reach is one of the most cynical acts of any political campaign ever. It's a distortion of the free press, which, for all its faults, was considered the protector of democracy by the founders of this country (Given a choice between a free government and a free press, Thomas Jefferson said he would take the free press). If she can't handle a question or two from the likes of Katie Couric, how in the world would she handle her "neighbor," Valdimir Putin?
