I dont think McCain holds a Candle to Sarah Palin or Mike Huckabee tonight. He is not a great speaker. Probably should not of been the nominee., I am really starting to like Sarah Palin, Ive read a bit of her Bio they have posted and some old videos and pictures at http://www.veeppeek.com., But I am still struggling with all these questions about scandal and her daughters boy friend seems like a little thug.? http://www.hotpres.com We will see, McCain Palin has not earned my vote yet.

What worries me about the Palin/McCain ticket most is their energy policies (especially in regard to drilling in the ANWR). Given the current state of our environment, I think it is important for us, as consumers, to support 'green business.' For example, http://www.simplestop.net stops your postal junk mail and benefits the environment.

The audience was more whiter than his teeth and his words came across more choppy than a cheap haircut from Walmart. After almost every sentecne spoken, his audience at home could hear their inner voice of conscience say, "Yes, but with the current Republcian administration and failed policies of George Bush......" His words, " We are all God's Children", fell on deaf ears to the gay Americans, minorities who advanced due to the affrimative action, and women who expect equal pay for equal work. His words, '"Russia's aggression on Gerogia for oil" made his listenrs think about America's invasion of Iraq for oil". His words about being a "Man of the People", made us think about these last 8 years he stayed silent. about Bush's failed policies. His words about "immedictaely beginning off-shore drilling' made us think of the urgency to seek alternative fomrs of fuel and end our dependency on foreign oil. And lastly, the chants of USA! USA! USA! in order to drown out the convention,s protestors was a sad moment .

McCain's words did not energize an America that is seeking major CHANGE in the White House, rather is was very reminiscent of his days as a POW and nothing about what his party has accomplished for America these past 8 yeras......

He has been part of the system for most of this past century, how can he claim to know how to change it? We are ready for a new day in politics from both parties.

If you want an attack dog, as she says, ‘a pit bull with lipstick’, a feisty individual waiting to take over, then Sarah Palin will fill the bill. However if you want a Vice President with all that entails, with the appropriate qualifications, capabilities and stature, then Joe Biden superbly meets those requirements.

If you want someone who has flown an airplane, someone with a patriotic and influential military ancestry, someone who is unquestionably patriotic and who has been a heroic POW, someone who has a history of supporting Washington as it is yet who advocates the need for change, someone who admits that his party has ‘lost the people’s trust’, someone who challenges the people to create the change, then John McCain answers your needs.

However if you think what is needed is someone with the stamina, the intellect, the compassion and understanding to implement change, someone with the clear thinking, someone experienced in fighting for the average person, someone who won’t just bore you but instead sincerely feels the meaning behind the words, someone who is not only patriotic but capable of and committed to being President for all Americans, then Barack Obama is ready.

In any case, it at least has been very clearly identified and completely admitted by all parties that we desperately need change and that we just can’t have more of the same!

There are signs of his turbulent tenure ahead of us if mistakenly elected. The day he was to start his convention was marked with the landing of Hurricane Gustavo, 3 years and 3 days past the Katrina. that marked the tenure of George Bush. The night of his speach was truncated by antiwar protesters, His speach was a canticle of wars and rebelion, and selfish independence which lesson he said he has learnt. Thompson did describe him as a rebel either by omission or commission. He is a Hero no doubt, but in this new dispensation and in the 21st century, Americans are more interested in peace and better standard of living than the echos of war and the rehearsal in refute of the corrupt regime of the 8 years of republican governance which he himself undeniably is a part and parcel of. If for 90% of time he supported George Bush which regime McCain now labels as corrupt in order to win our votes, What was he thinking when he gave him 90% support. If therefore the regime of the last 8 years is congruently and correspondingly corrupt and evil and whoever supported the corruptness 90% of time is correspondingly corrupt. (this is an analogy) It is like entering into the bush to defeacate and coming out on the road side to ask who did the defeacation. That is diabolic as far as I am concerned. A house divided against itself cannot stand. How can McCain talk about corruption in Washington when he supports 90% what Washington did in the last 8 years, plummeting the economy of this nation and fighting a war of blame. I for one cannot be fooled by those gimmicks.. I see it as a chant and a rant of a kabalistic elites . It is a convention of the old war song. A word is enough for the wise, Let Americans think before they act during this election. I read and understand the writing on the wall. Events as they happen today gives me a highlight of tommorrow. McCain in the white house would be marked with turbulence as it started the night of his convention QED. My people perish for lack of understanding say the scripture. May the Lord choose for us the right leader who will not mislead this nation anymore. God bless America.

Oops! That one has already been used.

Watching the reaction of the convention crowd I can see how anxious the Republicans are to "reach across the aisle." Aaahhhh!!!! Change we can believe in!

I suppose there is more interest in this year’s presidential election, as almost everyone seems to believe our next president needs to be more successful than George Bush has been for the past eight years.

The Democrats have their “nose-up-in the air” with their groundbreaking candidate — an African-American, who seems to want to change Washington DC into one giant “soup-kitchen” — while the Republicans are in a sticky situation with their party’s nod to the quasi-liberal maverick of their party, the leathery war veteran, Senator John McCain.

Obama is cautiously bending over backwards to a mixed collection of “died-in-the-wool“ groups of voters, ranging from gay/lesbians and transgender citizens to children of illegal immigrants to working mothers to welfare recipients and attempting to pawn them off to the voting public as if they were commodities.

However, there is a large group of voters yet to be counted and I guess newsworthy by the media of America — a group of voters that I believe will decide the election of the president this November — Angry White Men.

These angry white men in America come from all economic backgrounds, from dirt poor to filthy rich, from both union members and management. They vote in all geographic areas of America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, Deep South to Mountain West, Pacific Coast to the Eastern Seaboard. If you have read this far, you probably recognize the author of this short critique is an angry white man who considers himself certainly not alone in his disposition.

Angry white men are not asking for anything from any of the candidates in this election, much less later on from the federal government — just the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In countless cases, angry white men are often independent businesspersons, employing a number of people; they pay considerably more than their per capita share of taxes and work hard in and for their country.

Personally, I am just sick and tired of hearing Obama use victimhood and patented buzzwords like — “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless”. To me that does not describe the average American family, or anywhere close to the vast majority of registered voters who will be asked in a few months to decide which candidate should be the next President of the United States.

“Press ‘one’ for English” is now a curse-word for most angry white men. In their lives, they are usually the ones picking up the tab, whether it is the company’s Christmas party, braces for kids, college educations or beautiful weddings.

Angry white men are voters that believe the Constitution must and should be interpreted literally, not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of any individual group with an-axe-to-grind, career-legislators or a panel of former lawyers and judges, who in all probability have never worked an honest day in their lives.

A great number of angry white men are men who own firearms, willing to pick up a gun to defend their home and their country. They are willing to lay down their lives to defend the freedom and safety of others and the thought of killing a terrorist or someone who is blatantly evil and needs killing really does not bother them.

The angry white men of America are not metrosexuals, homosexuals or victims. Nobody like them drowned in Hurricane Katrina — they got their families and friends together and got the hell out of Louisiana, then went back in to rescue those too helpless and too stupid to help themselves, often as police officers, National Guardsmen or volunteer firefighters.

Their last names and religion do not matter. Their background might be Italian, English, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, or Russian and they might have Cherokee, Mexican, or Puerto Rican mixed in, but they consider themselves white Americans.

They are a man’s man — the kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, hunt white-tailed deer, call turkeys, play golf, spend a few bucks at a strip club once in a blue moon, change their own oil and build things. They coach youth baseball, soccer and football teams and do not ask for a penny.

They are the kind of men who can put an addition on their house with a few friends, weld a new bumper on their truck, design a factory or write a book. They go out in the dead of a winter blizzard risking their lives to put utility poles back up so power can be restored to homes and families are able to turn the lights back on without ever knowing what it took to flip that switch on successfully again.

Women either love them or hate them, but they know they are a man, not a limp dishrag. If they are looking for someone to walk all over, they have the wrong person. They stand up straight, opens doors for women and says “Yes, sir” and “No, ma’am.”

They might be a Republican and they might be a Democrat; they might be a Libertarian or even a Green. They know that their wife is sometimes more emotional than rational and they guide their children and grandchildren in a balanced manner.

They are not racists, but they are increasingly annoyed and disappointed when people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race. They are willing to give everyone a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn English.

Most important, angry white men are pissed off. When their job site becomes flooded with, illegal workers who do not pay taxes and their personal wages drop like a rock, they get righteously indignant. When high tech jobs are shipped overseas and they have to speak to some incomprehensible idiot in India for tech support, they simmer.

When angry white men see and hear Al Sharpton on television, leading some rally for reparations in America for slavery or some such nonsense, they bite their tongues in disgust and never forget his self-serving madness. When young boys are criminally charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly having a small penknife in their pocket at school, they take note of who the local idiots in education and law enforcement are.

It’s also the liberal victim groups Obama panders to, the “poor me” attitude that she spreads across America and represents, her inability to give straight answers to honest questions, and now it’s the angry white man’s tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.

There are millions and millions of angry white men in America. Four million angry white men are members of the National Rifle Association. I am one of them and I am convinced nearly all us would vote John McCain, just as the great majority of us voted for George W. Bush.

Angry white men look forward to the opportunity to vote in this election, they want to make sure there will never be a giant “soup-kitchen” in America’s capitol!

It’s also the liberal victim groups Obama panders to, the “poor me” attitude that he spreads across America and represents, his inability to give straight answers to honest questions, and now it’s the angry white man’s tax dollars that he wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.

He keeps saying he's for change, but has yet to spell out what he plans to change. We know he will raise taxes. Gosh, can't imagine why anyone would want to vote into office someone who would do that. Wants to socialize medical care in this country. I'm all for providing good, quality medical care to those who are less fortunate, but not by way of socialized medicine. Just ask those in countries where socialized medicine is the norm. Ever wonder why so many Canadians come to the USA for medical care? So what if McCain isn't a dynamic speaker. We are electing a president, not someone for Toastmasters. He's a hero from the old era? Just exactly when does one's heroism stop being heroism. A WWII hero or a Vietman hero or a hero from the Iraqi war is still a hero. What? Because your heroism happened back when your opponent was just a kid it doesn't count? Perhaps that heroism allowed your opponent, who was just a kid at the time, to grow up in a country where he could run for president one day. Why do so many keep saying that he's just going to carry on the Bush administration under another name? He's done all he could to distance himself from the man. Sure they share some of the same beliefs, because they are both conservatives, but McCain is much less conservative than Bush, and a great deal smarter. Obama is a dynamic speaker and that's it. He has helped those in his own community but has done nothing on a grand scale to prove himself. There is no OJT in the white house. Ronald Reagan was 1 month shy of his 70th birthday when he took office and was re-elected, so age cannot be an issue. If you watched the RNC, you saw McCain's 96 year old mother. Wow! I hope if I live that long, I have her stamina, looks, and bright mind. We can assume that he has inherited his mother's longivity. He is an overall good man who have already proven himself and Obama has yet to prove himself. Biden is a jerk.

Health Savings Accounts aren't gonna help the 47 million Americans who don't have any health insurance. You need to have a decent paying job that has health beenefits, with 84,000 more jobs lost in August, that means an individual will need to pay 600-1000+ per month to insure him/herself and family members? Who the hell can afford to pay that type of insurance premium on a monthy basis??? Maybe the rich, but not an American middle-class family. McBush Talked about " not wanting the government getting between the doctor and the patient" , but WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE HMO DO?" Answer: Get between the doctor and patient and pocket all the profiits! Obviously no one person can do this on there own. We the people have to support change by holding our elected representitves responsible for there actions. We must make them represent the majority not there own iterests or the interests of any minority group. It is no ones fault BUT ours as voters that this politics as usual has gone on this long!

John Mcain can afford to do whats right for this country. Unlike his opponent John McCaine did not chose politics as a carrer for the money. He chose politics as a career to continue to serve our country. How many of our politicians have made a fortune in Washington? How many of them live WELL beyond the means of the majority of citizens? John McCaines family may be wealthy and they may also live beyond the means of the majority of us. But they DID NOT make that money in Washington D.C.. Cindy McCaines family made that money honestly, the hard way, the American dream way. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with our representitives getting rich or living beyond the average Americans means as long as they can do it and still represent the majority not there own or any minority groups special interests.

How is it possible so many of our representitives have time to right books , give speaches around the world or anything else for that matter pursuing huge monetary gain and EVER be absent from congress? Which job is being put first?

I don't beleive many make EVERY decision based on representing the majority.

It is time for change in Washington! We need representitives that actualy represent.

We do not need bigger government.

We do not need ANYONES taxs raised.

We need to stop wastefull spending.

We need leaders with strong foreign policies that are qualified and capable of representing our country in theese voltile world conditions. The economy is very heavy on my mind but we will all be a lot worse off if we elect someone that may be qualified to help fix the economy but is not qualified to represent this country to the world.

Disagree? How about a booming economy and war with Russia or Iran or North Korea with nuclear missile capabilities? Iran blocking the flow of 1/5 of the worlds oil? What WILL that do to a booming economy? The economy is VERY improtant but national security has to come first. The two can be accomplished together. IF we elect someone that is qualified to do both. There is time to confir with staff when dealing with some issues like the econmy. There is NO time to confir when the phone rings at 3 a.m. or when a leader of a foreign cuntry asks our president directly where we stand on a issue. Nor if we are again attacked in our home land.

In this global economy things that happen around the world have a great affect on our economy!

Our economy can no longer be controlled simply by taking care of what happens inside our borders. Our foreign policies affect our economy in huge ways and will forever.

We must stop beleiving everything we are told and THINK RATIONALY before making decisions.

Like Hillary Clinton said " Be carefull what you wish for you just might get it!"

No one likes war. War is a horrific affair, bloody and expensive. Sending our men and women into battle to perhaps die or be maimed is an unconscionable thought. Yet some wars need to be waged, and someone needs to lead. The citizenry and Congress are often ambivalent or largely opposed to any given war. It's up to our leader to convince them. That's why we call the leader "Commander in Chief."

George W.'s war was no different. There was lots of resistance to it. Many in Congress were vehemently against the idea. The Commander in Chief had to lobby for legislative approval. Along with supporters, George W. used the force of his convictions, the power of his title and every ounce of moral persuasion he could muster to rally support. He had to assure Congress and the public that the war was morally justified, winnable and affordable.

Congress eventually came around and voted overwhelmingly to wage war.

George W. then lobbied foreign governments for support. But in the end, only one European nation helped us. The rest of the world sat on its hands and watched. After a few quick victories, things started to go bad. There were many dark days when all the news was discouraging. Casualties began to mount.

It became obvious that our forces were too small. Congress began to drag its feet about funding the effort. Many who had voted to support the war just a few years earlier were beginning to speak against it and accuse the Commander in Chief of misleading them. Many critics began to call him incompetent, an idiot and even a liar. Journalists joined the negative chorus with a vengeance. As the war entered its fourth year, the public began to grow weary of the conflict and the casualties. George W.'s popularity plummeted.

Yet through it all, he stood firm, supporting the troops and endorsing the struggle.

Without his unwavering support, the war would have surely ended, then and there, in overwhelming and total defeat. At this darkest of times, he began to make some changes. More troops were added and trained. Some advisers were shuffled, and new generals installed. Then, unexpectedly and gradually, things began to improve. Now it was the enemy that appeared to be growing weary of the lengthy conflict and losing support. Victories began to come, and hope returned.

Many critics in Congress and the press said the improvements were just George W.'s good luck. The progress, they said, would be temporary. He knew, however, that in warfare good fortune counts. Then, in the unlikeliest of circumstances and perhaps the most historic example of military luck, the enemy blundered and was resoundingly defeated. After six long years of war, the Commander in Chief basked in a most hard-fought victory.

So on that historic day, Oct. 19, 1781, in a place called Yorktown , a satisfied George Washington sat upon his beautiful white horse and accepted the surrender of Lord Cornwallis, effectively ending the Revolutionary War.

What?

Were you thinking of someone else?

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke

Why don't you just cut to the quick and ask each candidate which one will kick out everyone but the heterosexual, macho (we earn the bacon and keep the little lady from falling apart), self righteous, english speaking white men and just enough women to take care of them? That is your candidate.

Funny, but I'm sure you are very proud of your dissertation. It harkens back to the good old days when people knew their rightful spot in society, in line BEHIND men like you. Guess I can't blame you for not wanting to share the good seats.

I am a white 50 year old woman who has lived on the east coast, west coast and have lived in Texas now for 18 years. My views are not formed by regional prejudices. They are the product of my varying experiences and who I am at the core. When I hear/read what is such blatant self righteousness, it strikes me as arrogant and ignorant, no matter how tightly wrapped in an American flag.

From your perspective, there are only hardworking white men who know how to fix things. Firemen, policemen, and emergency workers are all white men. After Katrina, there were only white men rescuing the city. And certainly....none of them were homosexual. Everyone else, was cowering inside waiting for the alpha white male to make things right for them again. And women? Bah...we all know they are far too emotional to handle much. All those lawyers, career legislatures and judges don't know what a day's work is. After all, they don't get to flex their muscles unless they go to the gym. Oh, I almost forgot about the other important criteria: poker, football, hunting, building things, strip club visits, and climbing poles.

I don't mind that you align yourself with a certain demographic for discussion's sake. What I do mind is that it smacks of self righteous, prejudicial, close mindedness. You not only suspect that you are right, you KNOW you are. Your demographic is superior. Every other demographic looks to you to keep the world turning and safe. Well guess what, the rest of us are catching up despite the fact that you don't want to let us in. Minorities are overcoming prejudices slowly, working harder than you ever had to work for respect. Women are clearly showing they are as intelligient and yes, level headed, as men, and those with husbands more open minded than you help with the child rearing and household duties so their wives can pursue careers or even take on the role of full time house husbands (scandalous to you, I'm sure...wimps).

When I hear you describe yourself as "angry", it makes me glad. It tells me that with respect to equal rights, this country is moving in the right direction. You will have to move with it or continue to be angry. You could move to Alaska with Governor Palin's husband and become part of the Secedationist Party. Use all that anger and grit to get that very white state separate from the union and not let anyone else in.

This team isn't afraid to cross party lines getting help from both sides; they straight up oulined energy programs, eliminating governmental waste programs; strengthening the economy outlines; revamping healthcare; and making America more competitive in foreign product markets. The McCain team gave accountable 100 day deadlines. Obama lined the stage with 20 miliary officers willing to back him; in case anyone didn't notice; over half the Republican convention were military from every age, every branch, war and rank, active and retired. It's pretty obvious who is on the right track to properly wind down the Iraq War.

What has Obama done? Can someone make a list that can be proven

Congress is our biggest problem

McCain is correct -

Once Elected almost all Congress has a list to take care of

1st himself

2nd those that gave them the money to run their campaign

3rd their continuants

4th and last America

Just look at every congressmen - they come into office with X dollars - when they leave the net worth is so high it is unbelievable - then they further their personal wealth and become lobbyists

Harry Reid stated "I hate McCain" - McCain just does not follow any party line and bucks what he does not believe to be good for America

Someone prove different

McCain is for Veterans - McCain forced the bill to have a provision that the longer one services our country the more they receive under the GI bill - McCain put in the provision that if the Service person does not want to use the GI benefit - the benefit can be transferred to his wife or children for their education - congress just did not want to do this - McCain forced the issue and made it better for service folks that serviced the longest received more benefits

Now we need to show the candidates that there is a better way to prosper America and bring security. We are going the wrong way and destroying ourselves from off the earth as the word of God says. The goal in life is not employment; it is retirement lifestyle creating a garden paradise that solves all world problems.

More jobs and give higher wages, and better fuel do not solve the problems in our daily lives. Why continue destructive, polluting lifestyles that continue and increase world problems when we could create a garden paradise that would solve our problems? True freedom and independence come with retirement in the garden paradise lifestyle.

Remember, we are really only seeking jobs until we can retire, not for 40-60 years. We can retire in a few years. Search for the Divine-Way and want it and we will have it. The Divine-Way will get us out of Iraq honorably and solve personal and world problems at the same time.

1. Barack Obama said we did not have justification to invade Iraq and was against it.

That turned out to be true. No WMDs. OBAMA WAS RIGHT.

2. Barack Obama said we should attack in Pakistan if we find the enemy there.

BUSH IS NOW DOING JUST THAT.

3. Barack Obama said we should be us diplomacy as a first resort not a last resort.

BUSH IS NOW DOING JUST THAT WITH NORTH KOREA AND IRAN.

4. Barack Obama said we should establish a time table to leave Iraq.

BUSH HAS NOW ESTABLISHED A TIME TABLE WITH IRAQ TO LEAVE BY

     2011.

5. Barack Obama said Washington needs change very badly.

JOHN MCCAIN IS NOW, AFTER YEARS, SAYING JUST THAT.

So who then has the correct judgement here?

Looks to me like both PRESIDENT BUSH AND JOHN MCCAIN ARE NOW DOING EXACTLY WHAT BARACK OBAMA SAID LONG AGO.

So who then is the real leader. He is the one others follow, and that is Barack Obama.

So yes, Obama has less so called experience but obviously he has learned so much more from his lesser experience because he has the correct judgement and has been in the lead on all these issues.

These are FACTS, NOT speculation, distortions or lies as some of my republican counterparts like do.

What McCain is proposing, with regard to the economy and the war, is EXACTLY what Bush has been doing. Oh...he wants to give even more tax cuts to corporations than Bush did without restricting them from shipping jobs overseas. This does not create jobs. It does allow corporations and the big dogs who run them to earn huge salaries and bonuses and the stockholders to reap rewards from the profits. After all, if they use foreign labor, it's cheaper and the profits are higher. This is what McCain calls growing the economy. It may grow, but it will only go into the pockets of the top 10% (or less) of our society. He believes this will fuel the rest of the nation. The past eight years has proven it does not. Why should 90% of Americans have a hard time feeding their families, getting health care, and putting gas in their cars while the other 10% reap record profits? In the past eight years, this same economic policy has produced the highest wealth distribution gap in our nation's history.

McCain's answer to this, is to use our colleges to re-educate factory workers for the jobs that are not going overseas. Sounds good, at first. But think about this. Mr. Smith has been a union worker in Michigan for 20 years. He is 42 years old with 3 kids. McCain is telling him that the answer to keeping his house, putting his kids through college, (where they must go or they will end up right where he is) is to work full time at a minimum wage job, be a dad/husband, and go to college when he hasn't been in school in over 20 years. After about 4 -8 years of this, (depending on the degree) he should be ready to enter the work force at 48-50 years old in a new job. During this time, he should somehow manage to save for his retirement and kid's college expenses because he will be too old to start doing this by the time he gets his new higher paying job. Does this sound realistic to you? Of course not. McCain is certainly an intelligient man and knows it isn't realistic. What he can't say, is what he believes is the unfortunate truth, that these people, hit by the growing economies overseas, where workers will work for less, are a necessary casualty in our society, just like soldiers are in battle, and it's not in the best interest of the country as a whole to help them.

Obama, and the democrats have a different viewpoint. They believe the government should strive to help all people. That the government has a moral obligation to do so. That even if the bottom line is in the black, it's no good unless most people are served. The Republicans like to say that all who are not served are lazy. Are the majority of Americans lazy? Certainly, you can't have everything. The Republicans have much more of a nationalist perspective...all for one, meaning all people for their country. The Democrats think more in terms of...one for all, one country for all the people. They simply don't believe you can discard individuals "for the sake of their nation", especially when it sure seems like those that have had a huge head start, like to proclaim it a level playing field and want policy in place that ensures their head of the pack position.

Obama has been accused of criticizing without offering answers. They may not like his answers so they pretend he never offered them. He wants to regroup/rebuild our military and spend the military budget more wisely. To spend billions a day in Iraq, where we are essentially peace keepers, while the Iraqi government has a huge surplus and we wallow in our nation's largest debt in history, seems irresponsible. What is wrong with insisting they take some of the burden? Next, bin Laden and company are not in Iraq but Afghanistan. Because we are so overstretched in Iraq, we can't go after them. Obama wants to reposition the military to do so and spend less in the process. Without every penny going to the Iraq war, we could actually afford to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. How many more bridges should fall killing people before we do something about this? We are spending billions building back Iraq but our own country is in sad shape. Gee...if we spent more of this money at home rebuilding, I wonder how may immediate jobs that would create for people like Mr. Smith. If we continue to take care of America as we should, it would mean many of those jobs would be permanent. It would also give us time for our younger generations to understand what the jobs of the future really are and prepare for them, like the development of renewable energy jobs instead milking dry fossil fuel until the end. The McCain camp hears this and laughs and says "that's not a real policy". Why, because it's new thinking?

Palin LIED About Selling the Governor's Plane on EBay

After going unsold for months, the jet was put into the hands of Turbo North Aviation, an Anchorage aircraft broker, which put an asking price of $2.45 million on the nearly $2.7 million jet. It quickly sold to Alaska businessman Larry Reynolds for $2.1 million ($31,000 of which went to Turbo Aviation). Today the Westwind II jet spends its days ushering wealthy hunters around Alaska and Russia.

Palin's statement implied the plane was sold through the online auction site revered for empowering millions of small entrepreneurs, and Palin's spokeswoman insisted Thursday that the transaction occurred. But the plane failed to sell on eBay. ...

Also, while Palin characterized the plane as an extravagance of former Gov. Frank Murkowski, who arranged for its purchase in November 2005......

THE PLANE WAS IN HEAVY USE..... TRANSPORTING ALASKAN CONVICTS.

BIG NOTE: Alaska does not have adequate prison capacity and contracts for space with a private facility near Phoenix. On Thursday, 24 percent of the 4,546 Alaskans in jail or in prison were serving their time at Arizona's Red Rock Correctional Center, said a spokesman for the Alaska Department of Corrections.

THAT NUMBER OF ALASKAN PRISONERS IS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ALASKAN NATIONAL GAURD !!!

OVERALL BASED ON THE ALASKAN POPULUS, THAT OVER 4,000 PRISONERS FROM ALASKA IS VERY, VERY HIGH !!!

Big Note: When the state first began using the plane in November 2005, prisoner transport accounted for 58 % of the jet's use, and Murkowski's office used it 23 percent of the time. Over time, Murkowski's usage increased. But the eBay jet does matter.

Part of John McCain's whole effort to remaverick himself despite being Mister Bush's 90% man is to attach himself firmly to his running mate's supposed maverickness. Thus, whether it's stances on earmarks, or reversals on bridges to nowhere, or fudged tales of executive derring-do, they ought to be disembedded from the national consciousness before they become unshakable truths.

[Update]: While Palin only fudged the truth by omission, John McCain is working heartily on embedding a falsehood derived from that omission: "You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on eBay -- made a profit," he said, introducing Palin.

Yes, your new fresh face, that down home Average Hockey MomTM turns out just to be twice the Mayberry and every bit the Machiavelli:

Aides to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin improperly obtained her former brother-in-law's state police personnel files and cited information from those records to raise complaints about the officer, the head of Alaska's state police union said Thursday.

"It's apparent to us that the governor or someone on her staff had direct access to his personnel file, as well as his workers' comp file, and those are protected," said John Cyr, executive director of the Alaska Public Safety Employees Association.

After reading some of the comments, I am forced to make a comment myself. First, why McCain now is all about change, when he has been a member of congress for years? McCain is part of the good old boys and a apart of the same old network. If we really want change, we need to honestly look in a different direction, and if we are thinking of the country's best interests, why the republicans again? If you listen to what McCain don't say, and only listen to what he said, sure, you'll be lost. But in every McCain speech, it clearly shows that he's "war monger". Can the United States afford another war? Or do we rather wars than prosperity? If so, vote for John McCain.

Now, to the issue of Obama and what some on the right especially that guy Sean Hannity on Fox, who I consider to be irate and somewhat a psychosis...all acting like we are not guilty of having friends or associate with people presently and in our pasts that are not like us. We are all guilty of that, but does not mean that the things they do, we have to do it, or the things they do, meaning that we do it too. Bill ayers perhaps guilty of all the things that has been said about him, but do you see Obama bombing anywhere, or saying that he hates the United States of America.

I honestly believe that Obama loves the USA just like all of us who proclaimed to love it. I had some while friends and associates in my past, but the path I choose, was different from them. I went to college, now have a wonderful family and is working for a living, and currently a member of a non-profit organization catering to humanitarian services.

There is a great phrase in the bible, which said "he who is not guilty cast the first stone" -most of us know the story that led to that phrase, so there is no need to explain it here. So, don't you think that we are being a bit too judgmental? There is also another story in the bible that said "he who is guilty shall be exalted, and he who is exalted shall be guilty" and if you read the book of Romans chapter 1 or Chapter 2 it goes into more depth why we should not be judgmental of each other.

If you like a candidate for whatever reason, so be it, but don't listen to smears of people without having a true understanding of yourself or the true understanding of the facts. That is the reason why it is necessary for all us to be educated, educate ourselves, and stops allowing the media, pundits, and the so-called strategists to determine our lives for us.

I am not in favor of any particular candidate, i always vote for who I think is best to govern the United States, and maintain our dominance in the world in terms of prosperity, global love, the economy, families and to maintain peace around the world per the words of God. We can all live together in one harmony.

The Republican in general, don't have a very good track record on the economy of America, the democrat over the years have a much better track record. The last time the budget was balanced was when President Clinton was in office, and left X amount of surplus, however, when George Bush took over, that was diminished in the first few years.

I often find it hard to understand people who professed to be Christians, and have this crave for war or favors war to every crisis. How can we hold the bible in one hand and the devil in the other, yet still calling up God? It's either God or the devil. The word of God clearly state that, he is a jealous God, because it's either him or the devil, we cannot serve two masters.

And when i listen to most of the so-called conservatives Christians, I often wonder, what God are they serving? I am pretty sure, it is not the same God that I so strongly believe in, because the God that i worship and loves dearly, is one that is for peace in every form, and by all means. Not one that supports killing, according to the Ten Commandment.

Lastly, McCain often said that he rather to win a war than winning the election. What war is America in? The one that we created! And the lies that was fed to us as to the purpose of the war. Well, first I see myself as a human being and secondly as an American, and I am very fortunate to have a good education...We were hood-winked and bamboozled in buying into the war with Saddam Hussein. The government (the Bush administration, democrats and republicans who voted for the war) killed off our young men and women in a deceitful war, a war that full of lies and hypocrisy. I was in the military and served for 4 years, and each time I listen to or heard of an American soldier that died, I often cry, because I was there, and I know why most of these young men and women joined the military, their main purpose. And see their lives taken away for political gain, lies, deceit, hypocrisy and oil...I pray that God deal with those that created the atrocities of these young men and women in his own time.

There is a old saying that goes like this, "God is not sleeping". And when you here McCain talk in most of his conversations, the underline of his conversation is mainly about war. If we believe in prosperity for all, why vote for McCain....If you want to know, I am voting for Obama, I hope that through his command America will be reformed, and once again gains her respectability around the world, and for a strong economy.

I also, as strong believer in God the almighty, I do believe that Obama is inspired by God, and his Campaign is being Orchestrated by God himself. Look all the things that this Youngman (Obama) has endured, yet still he is still prospering, he reminds me of all what they did to Jesus. In closing, I pray for you all, especially those with so much hate and contempt....God Bless.

Well, to be honest, I am not buying it...I work in the corporate sector and i do understand something about the 'good old boys'. And you know what? They hate change. McCain so desparately wants to win, that he will do anything and say anything to be elected. Are we watching the underline of McCain's theme? McCain is selling himself on personality. How many times now have we seen and heard of McCain's POW report? A great part of the the Republican Convention, was all about personality, where is the meat concerning the interests of most Americans? Are we gullible to fall for the same trick again by the republicans? Americans don't be stupid, I am sure not.

It saddens me to see the protesters of the RNC interupting McCain's speach, or the ones outside that were trying to start a riot in protest to the RNC, or the individual that was planning to bomb the RNC. These people represent the Democratic Party. "Protesting War, but at the same time disrupting the speeches and causing kaos and violence?" That's HYPOCRICY like no other. The Republicans did not interupt any speechs or start any violent protests at the DNC. NO...We let them speak and we opened our ears to what they had to say. Regardless of what they said was right or wrong in our own eyes. I don't want to be a part of Democratic Party for that very reason. This is America! And as Americans, we need to work together to accomplish the things that are important to all.

Who really has experience, judgement and leadership?

1. Barack Obama said we did not have justification to invade Iraq and was against

       it.

That turned out to be true. No WMDs. OBAMA WAS RIGHT.

2. Barack Obama said we should attack in Pakistan if we find the enemy there.

BUSH IS NOW DOING JUST THAT.

3. Barack Obama said we should use diplomacy as a first resort not a last resort.

6. The dreaded surge. This is the only thing McCain has been CLOSE to being right on. I say close because he fails to see that the Sunni uprising (Fathers of Iraq) and the al Sadr truce played a very important part in what occurred. In fact, without those two effects occurring, its doubtful our military troops would have succeeded to the degree they did.

So who then has the correct judgement here?

Looks to me like both PRESIDENT BUSH AND JOHN MCCAIN ARE NOW DOING EXACTLY WHAT BARACK OBAMA SAID LONG AGO. And McCain has been right beside Bush on these issues 90 percent of the time.

So who then is the real leader. He is the one others follow, and that is Barack Obama.

So yes, Obama has less so called experience but obviously he has learned so much more from his lesser experience because he has had the correct judgement and has been in the lead on all these issues.

McCains experience is nothing but longevity assumed to equate to experience.
