If you want an attack dog, as she says, ‘a pit bull with lipstick’, a feisty individual waiting to take over, then Sarah Palin will fill the bill. However if you want a Vice President with all that entails, with the appropriate qualifications, capabilities and stature, then Joe Biden superbly meets those requirements.

If you want someone who has flown an airplane, someone with a patriotic and influential military ancestry, someone who is unquestionably patriotic and who has been a heroic POW, someone who has a history of supporting Washington as it is yet who advocates the need for change, someone who admits that his party has ‘lost the people’s trust’, someone who challenges the people to create the change, then John McCain answers your needs.

However if you think what is needed is someone with the stamina, the intellect, the compassion and understanding to implement change, someone with the clear thinking, someone experienced in fighting for the average person, someone who won’t just bore you but instead sincerely feels the meaning behind the words, someone who is not only patriotic but capable of and committed to being President for all Americans, then Barack Obama is ready.

In any case, it at least has been very clearly identified and completely admitted by all parties that we desperately need change and that we just can’t have more of the same!

Moments before I saw McCain muddling through his speech -in spite of the applause- just to get it over with. Cindy McCain and him hugged like they had just met and the audience danced to the music, pomp and circumstance. The camera pans revealed what looked to me a deflated audience; they are not crazy about him but they have their candidate. Scary for Republicans, since those at the convention are the true believers!

The whole infatuation with Palin will wane as the weeks go by when see that the empress has no clothes, McCain will fluctuate between being abrasive and avuncular in the campiagn and come November 5th we will have a not-so-close election. I say Obama wins the popular vote and the White House by no less than 4%.

He lives off of a myth about his indepencce but McCain is no maverick, no straight talker - he is just a pol who has brought in the junk yard dogs. McCain has sold out to the Bushites. He is willing to do what ever it takes to get elected. Fair enough, but lets call it like it is. McCain fans need to end their hypocrisy and seem him for the down and dirty campaigner that he is. He cynically chose "Country first": as his slogan. Country First? Is that some kind of joke? What McCain means is military contractors first (War in Iraq - prime example). More war, more outrageous weapons programs which do nothing for US security but fill the coffers of the military-industrial contractors,- the Lockeed Martins, Blackwaters and Halliburtons of the world. Maybe McCain means the Wealthiest 0.5% of the Country First. More tax cuts for the rich while draining the the US Treasury and continuing to run up massive deficits like all of his Republican predecessors. Country First? Such hypocrisy is enough to turn the stomach of any voter who knows anything about what makes the real McCain run. He may slide into office on his Karl Rove Fear and Smear campaign but Country First is only a cruel joke being played on a poorly informed American electorate - and even worse their sons and daughters.

It is obvious that the George Bush Administration is hiding behind the scenes helping to coach both Palin and McCain with information and helping with Republican contacts inorder to bolster McCain's lagging Campaign. Sarah Palin was a cosmetic addition last week to help the senior and non-magnetic McCain with some of her Former Beauty Queen looks, charm and rabid right wing appeal to the Republican Base. The McCain Campaign is trying to keep Bush & Company hidden and trying to do a performance that all is different and they are going in a new direction to get elected. Unfortunately the Talking Heads on the Networks and Cable TV are going along with the act and not challenging much that McCain presents inorder to keep the Stage Show going to lift ratings.....It will be a shame if Palin and McCain are not deeply challenged in the days ahead!!!

Palin (left hand) mocks community service as irresponsible while McCain (right hand) describes it as a noble and necessary part of citizenship. And when is someone gonna ask Cindy McCain whether she thinks Todd Palin is patriotic enough even though he once joined the Alaskan separtist party?

John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin was in an Alaskan independence party

Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, was once a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, its officials have said.

By Jon Swaine

Last Updated: 3:46PM BST 02 Sep 2008

News of Mrs Palin's former membership comes as the latest in a string of potentially embarrassing disclosures about her past.

The party has lobbied since the 1970s for the right to hold a referendum on whether Alaska should secede from the United States. Its motto, "Alaska First", Contrasts sharply with the John McCain campaign slogan: "Country First."

-------------------------------

BIG NOTE: It seeks "the complete Repatriation of the public lands, held by the federal government, to the state and people of Alaska" and aims to be "self-sufficient" by using profits from Alaskan OIL and GAS RESOURCES. It claims that the vote held in 1958 which led to Alaska becoming the 49th state of the US was CORRUPT and did not offer a PROPER CHOICE.

-------------------------------------

While it is thought that Mrs Palin officially left the party to become a Republican in 1996, she recorded an address for its convention earlier this year in which she said: "I share your party's vision of upholding the constitution of our great state" and told members to "keep up the good work".

Lynette Clark, the chairman of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP), confirmed to ABC News that Mrs Palin and her husband Todd had both been both members and attended at least one party convention.

---------------------------------

"When she joined the party our platform was right under her nose," Mrs Clark said. "I can't understand why in God's name she has aligned herself with a candidate who opposes the development of our republic and Alaska's resource wealth," she added.

------------------------------

BIG NOTE: In a video recorded at this year's party convention, Dexter Clark, the party's vice chairman, can be seen telling delegates: "The situation is completely out of hand, the decay of the federal government is totally complete."

--------------------------------------

BIGGEST NOTE: He tells them that in order to propagate AIP policy they "should infiltrate" mainstream parties. "Whichever party in that area [in which] you can get something done, get into that Political Party, even though it does have its problems," he says.

--------------------------------

The latest disclosure is likely to add to concerns among some Republicans that Mrs Palin was not adequately vetted before being asked to become Mr McCain's vice-presidential candidate

--------------------

•PALIN: "[Obama] is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word 'victory' except when he's talking about his own campaign."

FACT: On July 15, in a speech in Washington, D.C., Obama twice used the word "victory" in reference to Iraq.

"In fact," he said, "true success in Iraq -- victory in Iraq -- will not take place in a surrender ceremony where an enemy lays down their arms. ...

I want Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future, and to reach the political accommodation necessary for long-term stability. That's victory. That's success. That's what's best for Iraq, that's what's best for America, and that's why I will end this war as president.

--------------------------

A week later in Berlin, Germany, on July 23, Obama used the word "victory" three times to describe Allied successes during World War II. And in a June speech about the prospect of universal health care, he said Sen. Hillary Clinton "will be central to that victory."

----------------------

•PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform -- not even in the state senate."

-----------------------

FACT: The meaning of "major" is open to debate, but Obama worked with Republicans, including Sen. Richard Luger of Indiana, to pass legislation that would expand efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to destroy conventional weapons stockpiles.

While a state senator in Illinois, he sponsored two contentious bills, one that studied racial profiling by police and another that ordered interrogations in potential death penalty cases to be recorded.

-----------------------

•PALIN: "I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly $40 billion natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.

That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart."

--------------------------

FACT: That infrastructure project has not yet been approved by federal regulators. The proposed pipeline would ship natural gas from the Alaska's North Slope to homes and businesses across the United States. In June, the Alaskan legislature, with Palin's prodding, agreed to pay Canadian energy company TransCanada $500 million as an incentive to build the pipeline.

-------------------

•PALIN: "And I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending: nearly half a billion dollars in vetoes. I suspended the state fuel tax and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks, but no thanks,' for that Bridge to Nowhere."

-----------------

FACT: While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin hired Steven Silver, a former chief of staff for Sen. Ted Stevens, to lobby Congress for earmarks. Wasilla received around $27 million in federal money, about as much as Boise, Idaho. Boise has a population of 200,000 people, compared with Wasilla's 10,000. Earmarked funds went to sewage improvements and improving roads connecting the town to a local ski resort.

-------------------

As for the Bridge to Nowhere, Palin initially supported using federal funds to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to Gravina Island, which has 50 residents and a small airport.

It was not until the plan was ridiculed that she withdrew her support. Critics contend she still supports using federal money to build a 3.4 mile Road to Nowhere on the island for $26 million -- from the funds for the bridge.

-------------------------

•PALIN: While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for. That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay. I also drive myself to work.

-----------------

FACT: Soon after entering office, Palin put the state-owned Westwind II jet that her predecessor Frank Murkowski purchased amid much criticism. When the deal fell through with the sole eBay bidder, the plane was sold offline.

Alaskan businessman Larry Reynolds paid $2.1 million for the jet after learning about it from Republican John L. Harris, speaker of the Alaskan House of Representatives.

Palin, as she said, drives herself to work. In July, her Chevy Suburban was rear-ended while driving from Wasilla to her office in downtown Anchorage.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

------------------------------------------------------

Has Sarah Palin ?

Nooo

Name One executive Order or Military Command by the Alaskan National Gaurd..You can't, Neither can McCain, his Spokesman Tucker Bounds or the rest of those McCain Clowns Last Night.

--------------------------------------

For a Jr. Senator and a Person as Un-Informed as Sarah & Rudy "Mr. 911" Giuliani, who called Obama a "Social Activist" & "He's Done NOTHING..NADA" Bull-Spit

The Jr. Senator will PROVE, he's done Much More than What Sarah Palin & R. Giuliani Described & Demeaned last Night !!

---------------------------------

109th Congress

Obama took an active role in the Senate's drive for improved border security and immigration reform. In 2005, he cosponsored the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act" introduced by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ).

-------------------------------------

He later added three amendments to the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act", which passed the Senate in May 2006, but failed to gain majority support in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In September 2006, Obama supported a related bill, the Secure Fence Act, authorizing construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States–Mexico border.

President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act into law in October 2006, calling it "an important step toward immigration reform."

--------------------------------------------

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discuss the Coburn-Obama Transparency Act.

Partnering first with Sen. Dick Lugar (R-IN), and then with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar-Obama" expands the Nunn-Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines.

------------------------------------------

The Lugar-Obama initiative subsequently received $48 million in funding.

The "Coburn-Obama Transparency Act" provides for the web site USAspending.gov, managed by the Office of Management and Budget. The site lists all organizations receiving Federal funds from 2007 onward and provides breakdowns by the agency allocating the funds, the dollar amount given, and the purpose of the grant or contract.

----------------------------------------

In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the "Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act," marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.

----------------------------------------

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

In August 2005, he traveled to Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against potential terrorist attacks.

Following meetings with U.S. military in Kuwait and Iraq in January 2006, Obama visited Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories. At a meeting with Palestinian students two weeks before Hamas won the legislative election,

--------------------------------------------------------

Obama warned that "the U.S. will never recognize winning Hamas candidates unless the group renounces its fundamental mission to eliminate Israel."

He left for his third official trip in August 2006, traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Chad. In a nationally televised speech at the University of Nairobi, he spoke forcefully on the influence of ethnic rivalries and corruption in Kenya.

The speech touched off a public debate among rival leaders, some formally challenging Obama's remarks as unfair and improper, others defending his positions.

110th Congress

In the first month of the newly Democratic-controlled 110th Congress, Obama worked with Russ Feingold (D–WI) to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007.

-------------------------------------

He joined Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sponsoring S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections.

Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with John McCain (R-AZ) of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.

---------------------------

Obama also introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007," a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored with Kit Bond (R-MO) an amendment to the 2008 Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for a review by the Government Accountability Office following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs.

--------------------------

He sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, and joined Chuck Hagel (R-NE) in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.

-------------------------------------------

A provision from the Obama-Hagel bill was passed by Congress in December 2007 as an amendment to the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.

Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.

---------------------------

After passing both houses of Congress with bipartisan majorities, SCHIP was vetoed by President Bush in early October 2007, a move Obama said "shows a callousness of priorities that is offensive to the ideals we hold as Americans.

It probably is done best by voting the Republicans out for a while, giving us a rest from the mess that they have made, and giving a fresh crew a fair chance to mess it up their way. Fair is fair. This is the best that we ever get as voters. One mess or the other. But, if you let one side mess it up too long, there is where things go really bad. The pendulum must have its way.

Obama's tax increases will lose 3 to 5 million jobs during the next 4 years. Blame Bush all you want but there are 6 MILLION more jobs now than when he started!

Also the Democrats like to SAY "The difference between the RICH and POOR is as big as ever and the middle class is shrinking"

This is BULLSHIT! The statistics they use COUNT ON all the millions of poor illegal aliens who have come to this country.

So if you look at the REAL NUMBERS and even after adjusting for inflation the truth is the white group (which we have no real immigration into) the net INCOME increase is 9.6 % !!!!

Democrats don't want white voters to know they ARE 9.6% BETTER OFF!
