We all know that the US is to some extent racist. We all know that many will not vote for Obama because he is not white. We all kow that he has shown, by coming this far, that he has what makes a president. People cannot say that he is incompetent unless they have other motives. We all know that no one can change those who have racist tendencies.

What is important now is for the discussion to be centred on issues of how McCain and Obama may work as President. We are not interested in whether Obama is black or blue. I know that McCain wants this to degenerate to the race debate then they can whip up the fears of the whites against Obama, being he is black. (McCain's campaign has openly said this race is not one about issues, it is about personalities. So you see what I mean). This sort of debate should not take place. If we have to judge both men let it not be by the color of the skin but by their intellect, their plans, their solidness of character, and their ability to lead.

Please, members of the press, steer away from race. We have lived with it ever since. It permeates throught the whole society, but at this stage it is not what counts. But you know, many members of the press being as irresponsible as they are will make this an issue to drown the urgent discussions of the economy that is ongoing.
