Head of State

The Impulsively Unreflective Duo In..."Crisis on Wall Street!"

The Impulsively Unreflective Duo In:

Crisis on Wall Street!

John McCain is leaning back in a chair in his office in the Fortress of Irritability. An aide is carrying in a map of Spain when the Macphone rings.

McCain (answering): Fire Cox! Send him to Yugoslavia! Hello?

Hank Paulson (on other end of line): John, it's Hank. We are here in the Capitol. Every financial expert is assembled here, John. We have consulted every master, conferred with the widest and most informed authorities, asked every adept. We need you, John, you, with your mastery of financial expertise, to arrive at the door of our ineptitude and help us find an answer.

John. You must...suspend the campaign.

McCain: Suspend the campaign? But...the people need need my expert advice here, Hank. (Aide is unfolding the map on a table, circling Spain in red, and writing in large bold letters "Not Czechoslovakia"). They need me here. Where my acts can matter most. In...

Aide: The Fortress, Sir.

McCain: The Fortress, Hank. I can't just sit up and say "I suspend my campaign." That would look to anyone like the most clear act of political pandering, why, it's just...just...(the "I" on his chest lights up and begins to blink, weakly). I'll do it!

Hank: That's wonderful, John. We'll see you...

McCain: (Standing up, cape waving behind him) In a moment!

Aide: (to McCain): But who will man the fortress?

McCain walks to secret bookshelf. Removes book entitled "Courage". The bookshelf magically spins, revealing a grey vault. McCain turns the combination lock.

McCain: 21...72...23...skidoo...Drat! (starting again) 21...90...I'm sure that I disagreed with President Bush a lot of the time, Senator Obama! (pauses).

Aide: Let me help you with that, Sir (quickly turns the lock left, right and left. The door of the vault slowly opens, with the sound of a vacuum seal.

This reveals a large auditorium, filled with advisers, cameras, and teleprompters. Over loudspeakers, a voice is filling the hall with sound: "The capital of Iraq is...Baghdad. Bagh...dad. The capital of Iran is..."

On the stage is Sarah Palin. She is holding a college text entitled "World Geography".

Palin: Ooooh. I know this one.

An adviser is standing to her right.

Adviser: Take your time, Sarah. Remember--think before you talk.

Palin: I know, I know. Can't I just say "A place that is deserving of our freedoms"?

Adviser: We've been over this before, Sarah. Remember--"Specific is terrific!"

Palin: Specific is terrific. Specific is terrific.

She shuffles her index cards and the loudspeakers intone..."The capital of Iran is...Tehran. Teh...ran."

Palin: Oooooh. They sound so much the same! Iran, Tehran. That's why I can't remember!

As McCain, hands on hips, cape waving, enters the auditorium.

McCain: Sarah.

Both of their "I"s blink briefly.

Palin: Mr. McCain.

McCain: I want you to watch the Fortress until I return. I have a very important mission. About Wall Street.

Palin (to adviser): But I thought Mr. Reagan told Mr. Gorbachev to 'tear down that wall.'

Adviser slowly shakes head.

Palin: But...can't I come on this mission, Mr. McCain? Please? I just know I could help!

McCain: Well, I think that a largely unprepared economic novice, struggling to comprehend concepts that are stumping the most experienced and educated authorities in the area...

Both McCain's and Palin's "I"s blink brightly.

McCain: ...Is just what this market needs! Let's go, Sarah! To the rescue!

Sarah: To the rescue, Mr. McCain!

NEXT EPISODE: The Evil Katie-Woman endangers Palin with a hypnotic confusion device...Questions! Can Sarah resist their terrible power?

Coming this week! On...

Maverick McCain.

Dear concerned citizens of America and Mass Media of the U.S.A.

As a concerned registered independent voter, forensic psychiatrist, disabled American I made my decision to vote after taking into consideration following joint tickets attributes and characteristics.

1. Has the ticket shown adequate calmness, coolness, and connectedness's under pressure to lead our nation [Presidential Temperament]?

2. Has the ticket shown sustained sound "Judgment and Caliber"?

3. Has the ticket shown adequate understanding of depth and degree to address the crucial challenges in their their purpose, policies, and positions [ Honesty, integrity and sincerity]?

4. Has the ticket sufficient "understanding and knowledge" of inside Washington workings [Experience]"?

5. Has the ticket reservoir resilience, wisdom, and vigor to address the present and future f our beloved "Great-grand Nation"?

6. Has the ticket enough joint foreign policy experience and exposure based on " Values, Virtues, Vastness, and " [American moral soul]"?

7. Has their campaign talk, slogans, ads, plans, and programs based on facts and are they free of fear, fiction, frivolous labels, unfair attacks, negativity, and impulsively? [No "imminent danger to national

security and safety"].

8. Has the ticket genuinely kept on message of country first and politics last and avoided copying [Message change"]?

9.Has the ticket message stayed away from Culture divide and war[ Disaster prevention ]?

10. Has the ticket resisted being surrounded, supported and surrogate's by divisiveness, distortion's, and destructive characters, [ Real patriotism VS shiftiness and shameless parrot-ism]?

11. Has the ticket thoughtful, real non-partisan, & non-impulsive plans to address our current economic crisis or political tactics and temperamental statements.

I have personally and professionally concluded that OBAMA-BIDEN ticket will lift and inspire our greatgrand nation back to its greatness within and restore our global standing with the use of maximum, firm

international diplomacy and minimal force if and when indicated {" Peace thru Strenght "}.

12. The era of responsibility has to replace irresponsibility and unaccountability will change to accountability and transparency. The Wall Street greed will change to Main Street need.

13. Temperamental and Angry McCain is out to play and create a card mistrust and distress around Obama with the Vail of claim that he will bring bipartisanship in Washington DC. He is destroying him claim every by painting Obama naive. It is tragic, sad, and unfortunate that so called Maverick McCain has already generated a disdain and demeaning face off in the debates and bailout suggestion. Obama is real Presidential and he maintained a smile during the debate and while McCain had a constant grin and disdain towards Obama.

Yours sincerely,

Forensic psychiatrist, Disabled American Veteran and Iraq

Freedom team. Grass roots California leader per Senator McCain's

PS: It is sad and unfortunate that Hon, Temperamental and angry Maverick McCain had a constant grin and disdain towards his debater.

Remember that words are really the only thing that a politician has to make a living off of. If they are hiding her it's because, first, she has nothing to say. Considering the lady's past I'd guess that's not it. Second, what she says goes against or badly represents the party. If her words lose votes, cast her aside and move along. If she can't be trusted to voice her opinions then , what's she going to do when she has to talk with other world leaders?

Dump her.. And, John, if you can't dump her then maybe your judgement really isn't so good. You showed a lack of manners and a lack of control in the debates. You show a lack of ability on the budget issues. the bailout was scam. John, what happened to you??? you went from respected to a scared loser. You sound like Bush!!

Thank you, Andrew, for this article. You seem to be one of the few journalist who is not radical liberal to an extreme. I do read your columns and while I do not always agree with you, at least you don't sound like you were trained in Moscow like other journalist. I know of many people who have really narrowed down the papers, magazines and national TV stations they watch because they mistrust their news. I also believe that Obama has paid/volunteer bloggers who fill the blogs daily with anti-McCann/Palin propaganda. As far as "polls" are concerned, the only one that counts is the one in November when the people decide, not the news media.

Now now, I am a republican. I have been since I turned 18 back in 1992. Mostly because I am pro life, and pro traditional marriage. Two things that I don't agree with Obama on. However, I've had it with the republican party. I can see how people around me in my neighborhood are hurting. My wife and I are both educators, and yet we are probably the best well off in a 4 block radius. That's pretty sad.

I used to like McCain, even though I voted for Huckabee. But McCain is clueless on any number of things. One thing I am upset over is that his health care plan will make my employer benefits taxable. That'll cost me about $3700 a hear. Oh and that $5,000 he talks about, well for starters, you don't get it if your employer pays for your insurance. Oh, and my family coverage that we have right now, would cost me about $12,000 a year to buy the same coverage elsewhere. $5,000 tax credit doesn't even begin to cover it.

Like many people, we live paycheck to paycheck. We just barely have $25 a month that we put back for our kids college. If McCain is elected, and his plan comes to fruition, then I wonder where I will have to make cuts or which bills to just no pay.

Then we talk about Sarah. I don't care if your a dem or rep. How could any interviewer not look disgusted when getting answers such as those to their questions? You can tell when someone is just plain stupid . . . or to give Palin some credit, just incredibly average, and in it way over her head. Average may get you far in a small town or state (670,053) where the entire population is less than that of Erie County, NY. (921,390). Buffalo, NY resides in Erie County. But around NY, average doesn't get you much higher than county commissioner.

And this person could be one heart beat away from being president? Really?

You know, I just can't take it from the Republicans in charge anymore. I need a change, and I guess that means crossing lines and going with Obama. After all, who's going to care more about losing a house? The candidate with one house, or the candidate with 7 or more?

“…when I hear a statement like that coming from a women candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn't do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country,

I don't think it bodes well for her, a statement like that. Because, again, fair or not fair it is there. I think it's reality and it's a given, people just accept that she's going to be under a sharper microscope.

So be it. Work harder, prove to yourself to an even greater degree that you're capable, that you're going to be the best candidate. That's what she wants us to believe at this point. So it bothers me a little bit to hear her bring that attention to herself on that level.”

Since when is it the media's fault that Sarah Palin looked bad on TV? Here's a shocker--Sarah Palin made Sarah Palin look bad on television!! In fact, to take it a step farther, the McCain campaign made Sarah Palin look bad on television!!

First off, if you are running for President, Vice President, Grand Poohbah or Grand Mystic Ruler, or whatever, why would you sit down in front of a television camera knowing that your interview is going to be broadcast before millions of people, and not be prepared for the questions that might be asked? I would hope that anyone who is seeking the highest (or second highest) office in the land be prepared to answer questions on important issues that are relevant to the day.

You should see it as a huge problem that someone is trying to bluff their way through to being Vice President, instead of being the right person for the job, regardless of what party they are from or who is doing the interview.

There's no way any student of war history could have got that story confused. Impossible. McCain simply changed a historic event, to bail himself out of another blunder. He is a master of manipulation and he pulled this switcheroo again in Fridays debate. Expect the exact same technique from Palin in the debate

Sociopaths and antisocial personalities have as routine, a habit of shifting blame to others, on things that they are guilty of doing. It's called "deflection", a diversion of ones attention. It's also highly effective, but rendered ineffective if the person attempting the technique, is cleverly 'called on it' by anyone watching or on the receiving end.

Please write letters or post online in the Ohio papers, MI, PA, VA, MN, WI, FL, NH and NV to urge their reporters to continue asking McCain and Palin questions....until they get an answer, not a deflection. If they have no access to them, then the local reporters or editorial board should have the freedom to write the truth of what they see, not write articles that will help them maintain their jobs.

The press drives the narrative and will decide this election. I've read Ohio papers; it's no wonder Republicans always win Ohio. Therefore, as Americans, we need to drive the press.

You saw what happened when Katie Couric persisted until she got an answer!

Resist McCain and he will flee.
