Both the CNN and Fox undecided focus groups who watched the debate picked Edwards as the winner. They commented about his authenticity and they agreed with his message. In the Fox focus group they showed several voters who had Edwards in third place in their decision making process but after the debate he was #1 in their thinking.

I also think Senator Clinton thinks Edwards is doing very well in Iowa. She used several of the same type of lines Edwards uses on the stump. She talked about a "new kind of patriotism" (Edwards consisently has been saying it is time for a president who asks voters to be patriotic about more than war). She talked about the "bully pulpit" another Edwards line. She also said "if you stand up for me I'll stand up for you. This is also used by Edwards. I found this "borrowing" very interesting.

Can it be that Obama's message of unity is getting across. Hillary Clinton cares about people, Obama cares about people. Who will be able to get things done. Hillary with her experience and toughness. Or Obama with his politics of unification. I think this is a tough choice and people will wait until the last minute to decide. I think the X factor in this situation is Bill CLintorn. I think people will determine that having two Clinton's in the White House is safer than having one OBAMA. The OBAMA argument is that the Clintion's are hated by the Republicans and that this will cause polarization which will inturn cause GRIDLOCK. Republicans will spend every waking moment trying to bring the CLinton's down instead of dealing with the divisive issues that face this country. I am personally torn between the two candidates and it will be an agonizing decision. I am just happy we have two democratic candidates that won't forget about us. One of these two will be the next PRESIDENT.
