Official Portrait of First Dog Bo Released

Katie Connolly
Official Portrait Courtesy of the White House

The White House today released an official portrait of First dog Bo Obama. It's a cute picture of Bo, who is quite a fine specimen. But it strikes your Gagglers as a little odd because, as Holly pointed out to me, the girls don't have official portraits yet, nor is there an official first family portrait.

The White House has also released an official Bo baseball card to answer all the burning questions about the world's most famous pup. We now have confirmation that Bo's favorite food is tomatoes (weird huh? Maybe he's vegetarian....) and that his goal as first dog is to "meet with foreign dognitaries."  We're impressed that he sat still for long enough to be snapped. But perhaps that just confirms Holly's sneaking suspicion that Bo is actually an anamatronic dog. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we found out he's a muppet.

In the context of what is happening in the world today - I threw up in my mouth a little after seeing this article. I guess it is the consequence of modern day "journalism" and 24hr "news".

Alvy,  "it's a dog alright,  and moosed hair parted on the right?" You are a riot as usual!  Lol, cute dog who eats tomatoes too!  I hope it's on pasta  topped with grated  parmeson cheese.

I can see why there are questions as to why the Official Portrait of the family pet was made before the Obama girls portrait. It is  odd but it's not the first time I have heard of this.  I just hope the Official Portrait is not mural sized. Geez. A  few years ago, an acquaintance  of mine who had two little children  hired an artist to  paint a mural size portrait of her big, fat ,fluffy, white angora cat. The background was pink and baby blue and it covered her entire 20 foot living room wall. It was one heck of a conversation (snicker) piece. Meow!

It's a dog alright.

But tomatoes? Hmmm.

The hair is a little wild, but at least it's not moosed and parted on the right.
