Obama Meets With McChrystal

Holly Bailey

In a surprise meeting, President Obama met with Gen. Stanley McChrystal in Denmark today. Obama, who was overseas lobbying for Chicago’s bid for the Olympics, met with McChrystal, the top commander in Afghanistan, for about 25 minutes on Air Force One. According to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, the meeting was set up after Obama learned that McChrystal was in London this week. No doubt the timing is interesting. Last weekend McChrystal told 60 Minutes that he had talked to Obama only once since he took over the Afghan command—a surprising stat for a president who values outreach. On Wednesday, McChrystal participated via videoconference in a White House strategy meeting on Afghanistan. Today’s meeting was the first time McChrystal and Obama have met face to face. Will the photo be enough to please critics who say Obama hasn't talked to his general enough?

The next US President will  go to war to defend our country.

The next US President will not go around the world apologizing to the creeps of the world.

The next US President won't take a time out to support our troops in a battle.

The next US President will NOT follow Obama's "example" in domestic policy! And be a success!

The next US President  will not throw money at problems as "A Solution" to stand as a substitute for planning!

The next US President will be too dignified to let operatives lead children to chant praises of the president like some third world dump republic!

Obama's term will NOT influence The Office President's policy, conduct or direction in years ahead. No future President will look to Obama like  great leaders today look back  to Washington, Lincoln or Kennedy.  Obama has telepromptered his credibility away and failed to challenge a weak congress to come up with IDEAS...rather than sloganisms.

It's too bad that we have to wait for a real President for a few more years. The shame is that American's first black President is a socialist. A dud in the cause for freedom and a strong economy. Let's see if the DNC nominates someone else for the 2012 run!

  Don't be suprised!

You naively assert that "Afghanistan is a loser!" No it isn't, the incompetent wimp-in-chief, Barack Obama, is the loser.

And then again, you naively assert that "throughout history this territory has been virtually impossible to conquer, control or tame." Obviously you have already forgotten or dismissed as unrealistic Barack Obama's frequently screeched chant  - "yes we can, yes we can". Are you beginning to dismiss the relevance of his captivating mantra already?

And then you ridiculously swallow hook, line, and sinker Joe Biden's amateur alternate suggestion to "target the bad guys with missles and drones". When you used the peculiar word "missles", did you really mean missiles? Don't worry or apologize - we can read you like a dull liberal book.

It appears as though, in your confused mind, you put more importance of Sloppy Joe's fantasy world magical solution than on General McChrystal's battle-proven experience supported plan. Has Joe Biden had any actual military experience? He probably wouldn't last a day in military boot camp, and his only accomplishment there would probably be to get the boot.

So, you put your faith in Sloppy Joe Biden - the Gomer Pyle of American politics!

He definitely has the Taliban and al Qaeda terrorists shaking in their boots - with laughter, since they realize that this buffoon is next in line for the US presidency.

He would starve to death in a buffet line if it weren’t for the numerous aides whose sole responsibility is to spoon-feed him.

He probably considers himself to be an distinguished agricultural expert, due to the early 60's corn-row hair transplant which he proudly sports.

He probably would bring a water pistol to a shooting range, and brag that he is an elite  sharpshooter because he managed to find and pull the trigger.

No, this clown is not qualified to offer any credible military advice, and couldn’t even lead a junior boy-scout pack out of a restaurant washroom.

I can't say I blame the General for answering questions re: the Afghanistan war .  He made a London speech last week that I didn't hear about until today about the Afghanitan war. Don't know how I missed that one.  Well we all know this general had been waiting over a month for Obama to address his request for 40K troops to no avail.  If I were this general I would have been extremely frustrated with Obama dragging his feet in regards to his lack of response. He did a good job of lighting a fire under the PTOS cuz now things are moving (discussions about strategy) at least re: the Afghanistan war.
